bazza have replied on other thread, mine is breech too, has been all along and think it will stay that way too! Have another scan 30/4 when I will be almost 37wks then will need to decide what to do, in thinking if offered a section go for that as its a lot less stressful for both me and bubs!

Bazza2 · 15/04/2015 22:12

Tori and chook that's what I've been wondering about - whether cs is better than trying to turn him, or even if cs would be an option for me. Today's consultant said she thinks I should not be on the mlu but to have a consultant led birth. But I did get to see about 30 seconds of 3d... oh his little face! Can't wait to see it for real.

That's mine too tori baby is happy that way up and trying to turn them will cause distress...

gingerfluffball · 16/04/2015 07:34

Ooo congratulations mum on little Leo's arrival! Would love to hear your birth story whenever you have time to write it up Smile

Hope all has gone well tits, been thinking of you!

SmileyScooby · 16/04/2015 08:04

Hi all, had a busy day yesterday so didn't have chance to read yesterday

aberjen so pleased to hear FIL is on the mend!

chook I too am suffering with sleep (or lack of!) woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep

longest hope pram gets sorted ok as am sure you don't want to have to buy another one :( and glad that neighbour is happy to have DD, certainly one less thing to worry about eh?

turquoise shame your mum can't be at your party :( I know what you mean about scans and people bringing the whole family!! Hope scan went ok?

mum congratulations re little Leo! So pleased to hear he is doing well, hope you are too x I must get round to joining the fb group!

apple how did scan go?

kitty my little man is head down but L shaped too, hoping he moves further down soon, I also need to make an appointment for hair cut...fringe is getting too long now am having to pin it back as annoying me!

tits hope all has gone well!

Little me update - had growth scan and checkup yesterday, baby doing ok - still big measuring in the 90-97th percentiles, but has been in line with the other lines on their graphs just either above or on top line!! Current estimated weight at 36w is 7lb3oz!! Blood test for glucose came back fine so haven't got GD and at scan yesterday the fluid was top end of normal so they aren't worried too much about that (they did also say that fluid measurements can alter very easily too depending on way baby is laying, how much baby has ingested etc) Bump was measured at 38cm now so in theory am within the 2cm grace they allow either side of current week (although as we know the bump measuring is guess work/can vary). Bump still keeps going hard but sometimes for a long time so don't think it's BH, but it does make it uncomfortable to do anything!

Am so glad won't be pregnant in the summer months as at the moment this added warmth I'm not coping with, was up early this morning as couldn't get comfy as too warm. Am starting to get things organised at home a bit and nearly finished all the stuff I need to do for work by Monday but going to be a busy weekend finishing work stuff off I think!

catnip85 · 16/04/2015 08:19

Morning everyone! Hope you're all well.

tits how did the induction go?

Titsalinabumsquash · 16/04/2015 09:05

Good morning, sorry for not updating the non Facebook - ers. BlushSmile.

Baby Olivia was born at 9.58am yesterday morning, after a slow start with propess overnight they broke my waters at 9.30am and she came along quickly and easily.

She's 6lbs of gorgeousness and we're home and doing well. I'll update when my iPad has charged Smile

Awww so glad to hear you and Olivia are doing well tits bet you are so glad to be home :)

Oh smiley I second the glad I'm not pregnant through summer. I am like a furnace at the moment, everyone else is cold and I am boiling lol! Got the fan on throughout the entire night otherwise I would wake up sweaty!

Had 34 week midwife appointment yesterday, a student midwife did my appointment while my regular midwife was present. Measured 32 which is fine and everything else seems normal and baby is lying head down with her back to the right side and feet and arms pointing towards left side. Can't believe next time I see her I will be discussing my birth plan! Ahh!
Started packing hospital bag yesterday (don't think the bag is big enough ha) all these gorgeous babies arriving is making it all very real! :)

aberjen · 16/04/2015 09:27

Glad to hear you're all doing well tits and mum

smiley have been thinking exactly the same about the heat - my friend is expecting her first in September, rather her than me!!

Got the Moses baskets down from the loft and wondering if I need to give them a wipe down or something? They look fine and they've been airing for the last few days. If I wipe them down what should I use - just a damp cloth, or should I use some sort of antibacterial? probably shouldn't be this clueless as a second-timer

Chookford · 16/04/2015 09:58

tits massive congrats on the birth of Olivia, lovely news!

smiley glad to hear all was well at your growth scan, that must have been a relief!

aber I would just wipe it down with hot water if it's not actually dirty...

cuphat · 16/04/2015 12:12

Congratulations tits! I'm on fb but can't keep track of who's who.

gingerfluffball · 16/04/2015 12:23

Congrats tits! I love hearing about all these babies Smile

LinaDee · 16/04/2015 13:52

Just woke up from a 5 hour nap Shock
Dropped my DD at nursery just after 8 and thought I'd just chill out on the couch for a bit before trying to do some housework and I've just woke up!!!
My own fault - stayed out til 1 at a friends house having a catch up.
A whole day gone pretty much! ??

leanne963 · 16/04/2015 14:03

Has anyone had to have a consultant manually try and move a breed baby?! My SIL is nearly 39 weeks and baby is breech so is having a consultant move the baby! I've never heard of this before, does it hurt?!
She is adamant she is not wanting a c section but I told her it's not the end of the world.....

LinaDee · 16/04/2015 14:06

Leanne it's called an ECV but I've never heard of it being done at 39 weeks - consultants at our hospital won't do it after 37 weeks because of he limited space available after that time.
My sister had an ECV at 36 weeks when she was having my niece 3 years ago. It was successful and she had a normal delivery Smile

leanne963 · 16/04/2015 14:09

Aw thanks lina I just couldn't imagine trying to turn my baby, it kind of made me grimace thinking of the pain lol but I guess they wouldn't do it if it was too painful! Glad your sister had a normal delivery!

LinaDee · 16/04/2015 14:12

My sis said it was uncomfortable, they gave her some medication before it to help her relax and also gas and air for during the procedure. It's not always successful and you have to fast before it in case it goes wrong and they need to do an em. c section.
The success rate is only about 60% or something. I hope your SIL wouldn't be too gutted about a section in case it doesn't work.
Hope it goes well and works out for her - let us know how she gets on!

Chookford · 16/04/2015 15:00

leanne my hospital won't do it after 38wks and they prefer to do it before that if possible, this is what I need to decide if I'm going to have done if baby hasn't turned by my scan on the 30th... I'm researching it and success rate is low and it can cause some complications so I'm thinking of just going for a section if it's still breech by that scan, but I will see what they say first...

Chookford · 16/04/2015 15:04

lina that is my kind of nap!! Wink

leanne forgot to say hope your sil is not too disappointed if she does end up having to have a section, sure she will be fine and as long as baby is ok that's all that matters really isn't it... I'm not looking forward to either them turning the baby or a possible section really but whatever is best for bubs is ok by me!

leanne963 · 16/04/2015 15:25

lina She sounded pretty gutted when I spoke to her, she and my bro wants this magical birth at the midwife unit (10 mins away from the hospital) but she has had terrible bleeding and bouts of high blood pressure but they are adamant they want to give birth in this '5 star hotel' looking unit. Each to their own but I would just want the baby to be born in the best place possible!

chook I would probably opt for the same! I know a natural birth is what everyone wants but everyone also wants a healthy baby at the end of it! I hope LO moves by the 30th!! Oh this pregnancy malarkey is anything but straight forward haha

Chookford · 16/04/2015 15:32

Yeah a natural birth is preferable, but little ones well being is my priority.. And I had a completely natural delivery with my dd so I don't feel "cheated" out of that experience I've done it it bloody hurt but I recovered very quickly just hope if a section does happen I will manage with a 5yr old a newborn and stitches!

LinaDee · 16/04/2015 15:33

I can't remember if it was here that I posted about it but when I was having my Dd they were sending me for one too as she was breech. In days leading up to it, I sat with frozen peas at the top of my bump and a hot water bottle at the bottom - it's supposed to encourage baby to turn itself so it's head is towards the bottom. (My cuz is a midwife and this was on her advice!) I have no idea whether this is why but my DD turned on her own - maybe mention this to you SIL - if she's desperate to deliver naturally, it certainly can't do any harm. I hope she gets the outcome she wants but has no one spoken to her about managing her expectations of labour? Confused
When I went for my ECV (which I obviously ended up not needing) I told the consultant what I'd been doing. He said he'd never heard of it before but was amused and impressed and told me he was going to tell everyone to try it in the lead up to the procedure. Haha!

leanne963 · 16/04/2015 16:17

Haha that's so funny lina peas and a hot water bottle, I will remember that! my SIL and bro have very high expectations so it's kind of hard to tell them otherwise! Bit I can't interfere just gotta let them so their own thing!

chook ooh yeah I can imagine it being hard with a 5 year old if you have just had a section!! Did your first delivery go well?
