Anyone experiencing their jaw feeling out of place? Not painful just don't feel like I can really chew my food! Could be completely unrelated to pregnancy though.

bradders85 · 13/04/2015 14:18

bean and jenni I am too big for maternity wear also - tops not so bad but no way I am squeezing myself into jeans they are so uncomfortable......instead I am modelling the height of fashion £5 LA Gear jogging bottoms from sports direct! haha!

mslad I don't have a changing bag yet either - I did look in mothercare this week but couldn't find one I liked and felt the silvercross one that would match my pram wouldn't give me enough space for things so still on the hunt!!

Thanks for all wishing me well with todays extra scan. Baby is measuring big (7lb 9oz at 37+4) and they sent me to antenatal day unit. I was there quite a while and they now have me doing my bloods for gestational diabetes so they have taught me how to use the pen thing and needles. Shock They haven't said I have got it (and have been classed low risk as nothing picked up in urine samples with midwife previously etc) but I am to do these bloods 4 times a day and record results. I have always had a sweet tooth though so perhaps I do have it and it's only just been picked up?!

Liqour around baby was also slightly high which may also be another indicator. So, they have booked me an appointment with a consultant for friday morning so will see what happens then!! I have no idea!!

Hope everyone is well.

Mslad · 13/04/2015 14:29

Hi bradders that seems surprising that you have to monitor your bloods. 7.9 doesn't sound that big, and if they said you havn't got GD, then I wonder why you need to monitor bloods? They obviously know what they're doing, I'm just interested as to why? How do you find the pen and needles? Hope you're ok.

Thanks all for changing bag feedback. I was just wondering was there a kind of 'go-to' bag which most people thought was best. I'll take a look this weekend.

Nothing jaw-related here scottish Smile

Chookford · 13/04/2015 14:40

apple my dh is helping when he can with packing but I'm a nighmare and can't wait for him to get home so I'm doing bits here and there, but I do need to take it easier!

bradders hope tests continue to prove that you don't have GD or if anything is picked up they get you sorted!

scottish my jaw seems ok at the moment, just another lovely pregnancy symptom to deal with, although not long to go for us all now... We will all be moaning about newborn related things soon! Grin

bradders85 · 13/04/2015 14:41

Hi mslad the midwife in the antenatal day unit had spoken to a doctor and apparently a liqour pool of 8-10cm can be an indication of gestational diabetes - mine was 8.1cm so just inside. 7lb 9oz doesn't sound too big to me either at this stage but it is about the 90th percentile line on my personal chart (which has been consistent for me!) so perhaps it is these factors together that has meant they want me to test - that's my understanding anyway. She did say perhaps I just grow big babies!

Just done test 1 hour after lunch so that was my first go on my own and I managed! Quite easy really once you know how to connect needle etc.

bradders85 · 13/04/2015 14:42

Thanks chook

Mslad · 13/04/2015 14:57

bradders It's good to know that they're keeping an eye on you! Well done for managing it so quickly!

SmileyScooby · 13/04/2015 15:36

cat Glad everything is ok, bet that was super scary!

Tits how exciting!! hope all goes well with induction!

Bean thanks for the link to the sleeping/nursing style bras - just seen they do some on Mothercare as well think I will order some to chuck in hospital bag incase I don't get round to getting measured etc I'm 36+5 today and am feeling huge too...was really tired yesterday and I didn't really do anything! Am going to investigate baby cinema as well!!

Sorry to hear some of you have got the added worry about where you will end up delivering, not what you want on top of everything else!

Mslad I too have not yet got a changing bag...will have to have a look around...I might wait and see if there is anything reduced in the ASDA baby and toddler event. Our buggy is black so I'm not fussed about design as much as it having enough room for everything!

bradders I too am rocking the jogging bottoms and baggy tshirt look :) I also have got to have a growth scan this week as bump was measuring bigger and at a scan a few weeks earlier it was noted that had bit more fluid. Had PGL blood test this morning (the one where they take bloods 2hrs after you have had a particular amount of carbs fro breakfast) so will find out if have GD or not soon - although like you everything else is fine including wee etc, its just the bump size and possible extra fluid. Bump size and baby measurements have been consistent following the lines...just slightly above (for bump size) and around 90 percentile for baby measurements all the way. I would just like to have an appointment where they say everything is fine!!

leanne963 · 13/04/2015 15:40

Sorry to bother everyone but i have been having a really dull ache in the left side of my lower abdomen. Is this what you experience quite frequently apple ?? Sitting down definitely helps cause when i am walking it feels like i have a stitch, just wanted to see if anyone else has had this?

applecore0317 · 13/04/2015 15:59

Hi Leanne I had it on my right side at the front then it got worse and was round the right side of my back. Got DH to massage it in the end and the next day I was back to normal. Think it was from getting up and down putting up bunting on Friday.

Left side could be constipation or trapped wind? Worth asking the midwife though

bradders good that they are monitoring you, although like you said it doesn't seem like a massive weight

mslad re changing bags I bought one on the basis that it wasn't too girl for DH but pretty enough for me ha ha its the babymel striped bag.

Scottishgal78 · 13/04/2015 17:19

leanne I get this all the time on my right side. Just assumed it was ligament pain or something.

mslad I got the pacapod Idaho from mamas and papas. Had a £15 so used it towards it. Looked quite unisex and DP liked it when it arrived. Put it on and wandered about the house with it on! Grin car seat came today and he wandered about with that saying 'my boy'll be in this'! Been good the past few weeks because it's been getting everything ready and a lot of it I can't do so he's come into his own. Said he feels much more part of it now Grin

Looks like I'm on my own with the weird jaw!

leanne963 · 13/04/2015 17:35

I think it might have been constipation or gas apple As i dont seem to have it that much now i have been to the toilet! False alarm lol

Bradders Hope the results improve on friday, glad everything else seemed normal look after yourself :)

Oh bless you Cat That must have been so scary, but glad LO is all ok! Damn these pesky cervixs, causing more hassle than anything ha!

Thinking of you tits So so soon and you will meet your baby :D Bet you can't wait!!!

Chook 34+1 here too, walking is seriously tiring me out now!! Feels so heavy and achy.

Sunshine Yeah the 40 mile trip would put me off, i am a big worrier anyway and would want everything near me if anything were to happen!

Mslad i just bought a changing/baby bag from amazon about 30 minutes ago, had good reviews and was only £20.

bradders85 · 13/04/2015 17:41

thanks ladies I will let you know how I get on after Friday's appointment. smiley hope your results come back ok too - sounds like we are having similar experiences!

Turquoisetamborine · 13/04/2015 18:21

apple how did your baby shower go? Did you get lots of nice presents?? I have mine on Friday but I've said no presents please and I'm regretting it now as I thought I had loads of 0-3 baby grows from DS but actually I only have 8. It's vests I have hundreds of. I have lots of proper clothes, dungarees etc but I don't like those for tiny babies. I really can't be bothered with going shopping at this stage and I have plans for nearly everyday up to my section on Wednesday.
I'm finding I have very little energy at this point at 35+4. I'm not huge, I've put on 2 stones exactly now but I'm literally up 7-8 times for a wee in the night.
Sunshine I wouldn't be happy with travelling that far if I needed doctors etc during labour especially with your first baby. I would have your birth in the hospital if I were you.
Leanne I often get a bad pain on the left in my ribs but I thought it was just the baby pushing my ribs for more space. It goes if I sit and relax.
Bradders hope it's better results ok Friday. Doesn't seem massive to me but I'm no expert.
scottish that's so sweet with your H. Mine is still not mentioning the baby much. He just says wow you are huge about once a day! Like it's a surprise.

Bazza2 · 13/04/2015 18:28

scottish my jaw has been a bit weird. Feels tight or like it's seized a little. I've always had a few problems with it though, and when I was a teenager the dentist thought I was grinding my teeth at night without realising it, and made me a bite guard. It definitely made things better.

applecore0317 · 13/04/2015 18:39

Turqouise my invite was for afternoon tea.. a girly get together before baby apple arrives, no presents just themselves and an empty stomach...

They ignored me and pretty much everyone bought gifts.

It was nice though, didn't do any games just ate and chatted :) Am sure people will buy you stuff still

leanne glad the pain went

Sorry scottish no weird jaw for me either. Ha ha at your DH trying the bag out, I was bought aome aquarium toys for bathtime when she is older and DH has already said they may end up in his own baths before then

Chookford · 14/04/2015 06:16

Urgh.... Waking up at 4am sucks!! That is all... Confused

applecore0317 · 14/04/2015 07:22

You have my sympathy chook I was awake at 4.30. Now back to bed I go

SmileyScooby · 14/04/2015 10:03

Turquoise I too am getting up alot in the night again

scottish sorry i don't seem to suffering with jaw problems but hope yours goes away soon

leanne glad the pain went away :)

Had great trouble sleeping last night, couldn't get comfy and brain wouldn't switch off...so had a sip of water and what happens then bump starts moving around doesn't he grrr then i had mild heartburn starting so had to get up and go and get the gaviscon...before I knew it the alarm was going off...on plus side is that atleast I can lounge around today and not have to go anywhere - just got to get this marking done.

and omg is my bump hard at the moment - making sitting, laying and walking around uncomfortable - anyone else?

piglet81 · 14/04/2015 10:44

Mine keeps changing, smiley - sometimes soft, sometimes rock hard. Very strange! I wonder if it's mild BH contractions or something? I haven't felt any actual discomfort but it is a bit odd.

Sorry everyone's having trouble sleeping. I think the babies are getting us ready for those sleepless nights...

Just a few more days at work for me, yippee! 36+6 today and looking forward to taking it easy.

leanne963 · 14/04/2015 10:58

Aw Smiley i second the brain not switching off. Seems my brain thinks it is a perfectly reasonable time to over analyse everything in my life just as i am trying to sleep lol. Bump definitely likes to go solid and i wasn't sure if it was BH or just her shifting and pressing her back upwards!? Sitting after a big meal is near impossible, i have to lie across the sofa ha!

piglet oooh only a few days left how exciting, do you have any fun maternity leave plans?

Cockbollocks · 14/04/2015 14:11

Ive been getting up at about 4am as well - shattered now!!

My bump is also regularly getting hard and tight - sometimes completely painless and sometimes very uncomfortable. Thankfully not long now - my section is booked for 2 weeks time.

applecore0317 · 14/04/2015 15:48

Sorry you didn't sleep well smiley and cock

Bump has been hard most of today and extremely uncomfortable, keep getting little pains either side, glad I have my consultant appointment tomorrow and midwife the following day.

Yey to nearly finishing piglet hope the next few days fly by

Sunshinesaz86 · 14/04/2015 21:13

Early mornings, insomnia and countless weeing is not fun at nighttime is it!

Yey for maternity leave piglet and anyone else finishing this week.

I've got my pre-birth leg and bikini booked for next week so should feel 'tidy' when labour starts! Grin

Obem again tonight! X

Kyz · 14/04/2015 21:28

Evening all :) Been a busy and productive day today! Plus, my moses basket came, it's lovely, I just need to get a stand for it now. I did find DS's swinging crib in the loft too, it needs a new mattress but i'm not sure whether to just have that upstairs to save on pennies a bit. I'd love a bedside thing though! Not that I know which one to go for!

33+5 today, had my whooping cough jab today too so that's another thing to tick off my to do list

hope your FIL is ok aberjen how is he doing?

glad everything was ok cat hope LO stays in a little longer

Can't remember who said about pains one side of bump but low on my left side keeps twinging and hurting, has been for a few days now, seems fine when i'm sat down, mainly a problem when I get up quickly (or as quick as i can manage, i seem really slow these days!).

Hope all is well tits :D squeeee!
