Oh cat that must've been so scary!

Tori ooh so lucky to have a message from McDreamy!

Scottishgal78 · 12/04/2015 20:32

Went to visit my sis in London from Glasgow for 4 days. Got the train - usually fly - God it's so long and my ankles swelled up like balloons! Came down with resting them up. Just in and they're swollen again so have my feet up while DP throws together some dinner.

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 21:00

Glad you are ok cat hope you are resting and that littlun stays put for a while longer.
Read today that we are meant to be getting a three month heat wave... should be interesting as we approach the final weeks

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 21:01

scottish drink lots of water, should help with the swelling

LinaDee · 12/04/2015 21:10

Oh cat! Glad you and baby are ok! What a fright you must have got!
Put your feet up and relax!

A friend of mine had her baby today - the day after her due date. It's her second baby too. First twinge to delivery in 6 and a half hours - I'm hoping for something very similar haha!

Chookford · 12/04/2015 22:36

cat what a scare that must have been for you! Glad everything is ok with you and baby though!

tits wow 2 days, how exciting!!! Babies coming thick and fast at the moment!!

tori McDreamy!! Awesome Grin

gingerfluffball · 13/04/2015 00:33

Lina lucky friend of yours! Fingers crossed for something similar Smile

Lots of (irregular) braxton hicks here lately and getting grumpy with them as bit uncomfortable and paracetamol-worthy. 37 weeks tomorrow so hoping they're a sign of fairly imminent action. We've all been pregnant for so long by now but another 4 weeks feels like forever!!

KittyVonCatsington · 13/04/2015 05:36

Sending hugs catnip- you did well to get through all that Flowers

Eek! Two more days Tits -exciting!!

Picked up baby's car seat yesterday and had the full demonstration and practise fitting. Am ready for Baby now! Every day till the arrival day is just a chance to put my feet up Wink
I'll need it as I still keep waking up super early...

37+1

catnip85 · 13/04/2015 08:32

Thank you everyone. It was honestly the scariest moment of my life, I thought we might have lost her. Doesn't bear thinking about really.

Good luck for yr induction tits I'm sure it will all go swimmingly and just think you will be holding yr beautiful baby by the weekend Smile

Turquoisetamborine · 13/04/2015 09:48

Tits good luck for Wednesday. Sure you will be fine.
Glad everything is ok Catnip I've had 5 heavy bleeds this pregnancy and it doesn't get any easier but you don't panic as much.
Bradders hope your baby is not too big at your scan today!! Are you expecting a whopper?
aberjen glad your FIL is a bit better and hope it's all sorted out before baby makes an appearance.
Kitty you sound all ready for baby now, hope you don't have too long to wait.
I've got a man from Sky here at the moment fitting multi room in our bedroom so I have something to do during long feeding sessions! I need to ring the dentist too as half of one of my back teeth has come out. They do say you lose a tooth for every baby! Thankfully it will be free with being pregnant. Then I'm meeting my friend for lunch and then probably a little nap as FIL collects son from school on a Monday.
Have a nice Monday everyone.

BeanCalledPickle · 13/04/2015 10:07

Someone asked about sleep bras. These are good www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+2-pack-maternity-nursing-sleep-bras-in-maternity-products-and-underwear+a9252

I got nursing bras from m and s. They are fine. Bloody ugly but there we are!

I'm massive now. 36+4. I feel like I've just about outgrown my maternity clothes now and am so bloody sweaty that I can't stand to wear jeans etc anyway. Ho hum. Off work anyway now so no real need to look presentable!

We went for our last child free afternoon out yesterday. Fifty quid babysitter, thirty quid cinema tickets, dinner. I miss when going to the cinema meant change from 100 quid! Though saying that one of my most favourite things in maternity leave was baby cinema. Went every week and was very up to date on films!

Section two weeks friday. Time is ticking away!

gingerfluffball · 13/04/2015 10:23

Oooh I need to look up baby cinema bean, that sounds lovely.

Had a box of wine delivered today, courier: 'not long to go now by the looks of you!' - haha thanks Grin had to get him to lift it inside for me, felt v pregnant!

BeanCalledPickle · 13/04/2015 10:32

Odeon does it, Google odeon newbies. Also the Everyman group depending on where you are. Is great. Makes you feel normal, getting to go to the cinema like a normal human being:-)

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2015 11:03

Happy Monday ladies.

Not long for u now tits so exciting.

bean that's not cheap for a date night, but hope u enjoyed yourselves. We've been trying to get out most weekends as it'll be our last chance for a while.

Let us know how your scan goes bradders

kitty glad your feeling organised and well done for having a practice run on car seat ect. Something else on our 'to do list' car seat/pram assembly practice Confused

I had to laugh at poor DP last night, think he's starting to get panicky about impending birth. He has asked me to make a list of labour ward number my mums and midwives numbers and put my notes in maternity bag, oh and told me to pack by bag this week and then instructions who to call and when. I told him not to worry as even tho I'll be in labour I'll still be able to speak and make a few phone calls! Bless him! I suppose it doesn't help that I still don't know which hospital I'll be giving birth in due to the down grade of our maternity unit, supposed to happen on the 6th then pushed to 18th of this month so still uncertain. Midwives are encouraging me to go and look at the 'new MLU' but if I need intervention or decide on epidural I then need to be put in an ambulance to another hospital 40+ miles away!! What would u ladies do?.....I Don't think I'll take the risk personally.

Anyway sorry for the long post!

Mslad · 13/04/2015 11:13

Oh cat that sounds so scary! Glad everything is ok.

Good luck with your scan today bradders

2 more days tits I can't even imagine! We'll all be thinking about you Smile

sunshine personally a 40 mile drive to another hospital would really put me off, but then I'm a real scaredy-cat about the whole birth process so I may not be the best to give advice.

It has just occurred to me that I don't have a changing bag. Can anyone recommend one, or are they all pretty much the same?

Jenni2legs · 13/04/2015 11:52

cat that sounds awful, hope you are feeling better :(

bean I am too big for my maternity clothes now, my belly hangs out the bottom of most of my tops. I remember trying them on back when I was 3-4 months pregnant and the tops all looked like mini-dresses :)

tits I am so excited for you, wow it brings home how soon we will all have another little person in our lives!

applecore0317 · 13/04/2015 11:57

Week tits that's come around so quickly!

Loving the sound of baby cinema, will have to look into that :) we only have cineworld and vue here

sunshine our MLU is empty a lot of the time because people end up getting moved to the labour ward, they move them if there is a slight increase in blood pressure, an epidural is requested, forceps are needed etc etc, mine is next to the labour ward anyway, I wouldn't be happy about a 40 mile trip

Sorry you are feeling grumpy ginger

Experienced my first rib pain last night, she was properly wedged, thought I had gotten away with it :)

Expensive date night bean cinema costs are ridiculous, I used yo get half price through o2 priorities but haven't seen the offer on in a while

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2015 12:11

apple and mslad this is the issue currently my hospital (10 mins away) has docs, consultants, midwives and theatre all working full time for urgent and non urgent births and has done for years. As of the 18th all 'low risk' myself included will be expected to go to the MLU with docs consultants theatre staff no longer avaikable so if anything happens during birth all woman will need to be transferred to one of two other hospitals both of which are 40 miles away! So not very reassuring for us mums to be. I will hopefully be allowed to opt just to go straight to one of the other hospitals and just expect my family to take the trip to visit if I stay in!!

Ouchie on the rib pain apple it's sooo uncomfy isn't it!!

How baby weeks left jenni? Can u manage without paying for new clothes till LO arrives?

mslad I have a bag that matches our pram! However there are sooo many out there do choose from, hope u find one x

Jenni2legs · 13/04/2015 12:54

sunshine I am 35+4, I'm just going to try to make belly hang a fashion statement.. I tried going shopping at the weekend but DD kept running off and my heart wasn't in it. I have finished work now so it's only the school run, etc that will see me Grin

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2015 12:57

We must be due date buddies jenni I'm 35+4 too Grin haha the belly hang sounds good to me I'm the same around the house and outside DP's hoodies come in very handy! Not much point buying anything now!

KittyVonCatsington · 13/04/2015 12:58

Baby cinema sounds awesome Bean - good shout Grin

Naughty baby jabbing you in the ribs apple Wink Mine is in an L shape at the moment head down-need to do something to shift her in the right position methinks!

I hope you get the choice of location that you want Sunshine -does mean some anxiety though-I do understand xx

Can't help with the changing bag Mslad as my sister has given me her Yummy Mummy bag but to be honest, they are all a much of a muchness! If you order something's through Verbaudnet, I think they are throwing in a free changing bag too?

Chookford · 13/04/2015 13:01

Afternoon ladies...

apple sorry to hear about the rib pain, it really sucks doesn't it!!

sunshine sorry to hear you are still up in the air about where you will be having baby, hope they sort it out for you soon!!

bradders hope your scan goes well today, let us know how you get on

kitty hooray for being prepared, it's a lovely feeling isn't it!

mslad my bag is from toys r us, they had a great range and reasonable prices if that's any help to you!

Hope everyone else is well, I'm 34+1 today and starting to notice I'm slowing down, especially with all the packing of the house, it's really tiring me out!

applecore0317 · 13/04/2015 13:35

Hope she shifts kitty

Jenni I second sunshines suggestion of OH hoodies, I've also started stealing them, I live in leggings, long vest tops and long cardigans (from primark)

chook starting to feel the same, am three days behind you and sit in between doing stuff, can someone help with the packing?

Ha ha, yes rib pain is uncomfy

bradders hope the scan went well

sunshine I hope they do let you pick the hospital
