Thanks everyone. DP and MIL going in later to visit. MIL can't remember what happened yesterday and thinks he's had a stroke so have to keep explaining that it's 'just' pneumonia. DD is keeping her entertained though, which is sweet.

Lina ah, sounds exciting! Love Glasgow for shopping, been years since I was last there though Smile

applecore0317 · 11/04/2015 13:58

turquoise could you wear a vest top over your bikini?

Sounds like you all have busy weekends :)

I want today to be over, still got this pain in my side, full of cold and feel like total sh*t so am also full of pity for myself....

d0ttyne11 · 11/04/2015 15:52

Oh no Aberjen Really sorry to hear of the unexpected stress re your FIL. Bit of a fright for your other half and MIL by the sounds of it.

I am also v envious of your shopping in Glasgow Lina with all the excitement of wedding dress shopping I can easily imagine over doing it..!!!

I was in touch with my wee cousin this morning, she's in Edinburgh and had twins in January. Must admit, it does put into perspective the prospect of having 1 - I think she's doing an amazing job juggling the needs of two babies!!

I've just realised that once I finish for my maternity leave I've hardly anything to wear!! Think I just need a cheap pair of blue denim maternity jeans to see me through the next month. Any recommendations? I feel so silly for leaving it this late to get sorted but when working full time I didn't really need much beyond a couple of pairs of black leggings to see me through the weekends!

d0ttyne11 · 11/04/2015 15:58

... and why are all jeans skinny or super skinny now Envy I think I'm losing it today, just want to be comfy and be able to pull on something other than my pj bottoms for a change!!!!

OK - rant over Blush

Scottishgal78 · 11/04/2015 19:26

I know d0tty. I've tried h&m, topshop and next jeans. H&M are pretty awful. Too tight and gave me heartburn. Topshop were great until now (34w) - too restrictive for my swollen ankles/legs. Next are awesome and so roomy. Had to order a variety of sizes and collect them from the shop then return what I didn't need.

SmileyScooby · 11/04/2015 20:49

aberjen sorry to hear about FIL, fingers crossed he improves soon.

d0tty I got some bootleg cut over bump ones from mothercare, I got my normal size and a size up, I wear normal size most of the time casually when out and about, size up for the feeling fat/going out for a meal days as bit more roomy. I've also got some men's jogging bottoms for lounging around the house and some cheap leggings.

oh nursing bras - when do we get measured? Any recommendations for shops to get from? Also I haven't been wearing bra to bed as not leaking and boobs haven't really grown but where do you get these 'sleep' bras from?
Am worrying a little bit about where FH is measuring bigger, Dr reckoned bit more fluid last time saw them etc that baby gonna come early and have not got everything ready. But at same time am not panicking as if was a big problem I wouldn't be waiting for an appointment etc.

d0t - im with you on the jeans thing! We don't all want skin tight, bare all jeans! ?? it makes me really mad!
I second next though for a better variety of shapes.
I'm lucky that I have a pair of mat jeans that will be very comfortable for a few weeks after baby arrives until I can sort alternatives/fit into old ones.

d0ttyne11 · 12/04/2015 02:39

Thanks everyonescottish smiley and lina - I'll try a next order & pop along to mothercare too as I must confess, I'd even skipped straight to buying a pair of men's pj bottoms from George at Asda. A flattering 39 - 41" waist but they feel so good to wear Grin

Seeing the indentations from socks / leggings is not good but apparently but the end of the day, there's another 200ml blood around each ankle! Hence my poor legs wanting to avoid the skinniest of jeans!!!

I think I'm going to need to open my mind to internet shopping though as haven't really had any luck on the High St in looking for nursing bras. The Emma Jane range seems traditional but not bad and available on asos / amazon as well as in jojomamabebe.

Smiley I don't know much re FH but thought it was more a guide than anything else!! See what your midwife says. Have you another appointment soon to be remeasured? X

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 09:09

Dott I've been buying maxi dresses and dresses. non maternity ones dependent on style, empire waist in a bigger size seems to work. Otherwise so far I have been living in leggings since being off. I hate wearing my skinnies now, just not comfortable.

Am planning to sell all mine on ebay over the next few weeks.

Next maternity is pretty good although I did buy a maxi dress from there and it absolutely drowned me... apricot-online has some nice non maternity maxi dresses in the sale and they are perfect for a bump. well for me they are, I am short so thanks to the bump they actually sit at the correct length ha ha

Justyouwaitandsee · 12/04/2015 09:42

I am still wearing my pre-pregnancy Dorothy Perkins stretchy, skinny jeggings. Never thought I would be a skinny jeans fan but these are sooo comfy and stretchy.

I have a real issue, in that I am due to be a bridesmaid on 6th June. The bride is keen for me to find a dress but am struggling to find one I am happy with. It needs to be knee length, coral or peach, obviously with straps to hide voluminous nursing bra and preferably fitted under the bust with enough give in the fabric to accommodate my tummy/remaining bump whatever size it is. I found one from debenhams/debut but the fabric felt really cheap and nasty and can't find anything suitable on maternity sites (where maternity/nursing occasion dresses all seem to be navy) would be great if anyone spots anything suitable?

Cockbollocks · 12/04/2015 09:53

how about?

one

two

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 10:00

You could get a coral maxi dress and then have the length altered to knee length

Cockbollocks · 12/04/2015 10:06

or

three

The colour online could be misleading on this one.

four

Could look tent like depending on your shape/boobs!!!

five

six

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 10:29

m.wallis.co.uk/h5/product?productId=19171314

could get the length on this altered

Justyouwaitandsee · 12/04/2015 10:37

Wow - fast work ladies, thank you! Straight after posting I had a bit of a brainwave that I hadnt tried searching for salmon. Found (and have ordered) this maternity/nursing dress from Blossom Mother & Child. It has easy access for feeding and ties to tighten to fit any bump size. It is also lined with Jersey fabric so hoping it will be comfy too. Fingers crossed. You have posted some lovely dresses though so if this one isn't right, it does give me more options!

applecore0317 · 12/04/2015 10:45

oooh that's lovely justyou :)

I'm lucky, am maid of honour in July and colour was navy or red. Went shopping in the winter sales and there were loads of empire waist dresses in that colour :)

Hard to judge size though post birth isn't it

Justyouwaitandsee · 12/04/2015 11:01

Thank you! It really is tough and I have my 3 best friends getting married in the two months after the birth (although sadly not sure I can make the other two due to various logistical challenges) and then my BIL has also just announced his engagement and set a date for the end of June - so baby is going to be a very experienced wedding attendee early in life! will sort the bridesmaid dress first and then worry about the other once that one is sorted! Smile

bradders85 · 12/04/2015 11:33

aberjen hopes your FiL makes a good recovery.
just lovely dress hope you are happy with it once it's delivered, it's so hard to tell online!

I was at a friends wedding yesterday which was nice, was pleased to get home to my pj's though!! TENS machine also got delivered yesterday too so have that ready should I need it when things kick off!!

d0ttyne11 · 12/04/2015 12:25

Hi Just - that dress is perfect! Really doesn't look like maternity wear actually and I'm sure it will be perfect for the big day. How the rest of the building works going? Must be nice to get closer to the house being finished before mini Just arrives too Smile

aberjen · 12/04/2015 13:40

Beautiful dress just

New look can be good for jeans too - I have some boot cut over bump jeans from there although they were bought a few years ago

FIL is doing better - abs seem to be doing the job, but he was kept in for a second night and probs also stay in tonight as abs are iv. Poss has uti on top of pneumonia. In a funny way glad it happened while he was visiting - I think he would have waited a while longer before seeing a dr if he was at home. It's his birthday today too Sad

In more fun news, meeting a friend for coffee in an hour - she's about 18 weeks gone with her first so am looking forward to chatting about babies and sharing part of my mat leave with her Smile

catnip85 · 12/04/2015 17:15

Hope yr having nice a nice weekend ladies. DH and I spent a scary morn at the hospital. Woke up soaked in blood and baby wasn't moving so rushed to triage. Thank god it was my cervix bleeding and not the baby or placenta. Spent a while on the monitors and was examined by Dr and am now home resting but getting awful Braxton hicks. Just hoping I can keep her in until at least Friday when she's 37wks Confused

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/04/2015 17:44

Glad all is ok cat must of been a shock for u. Hopefully little one will stay put a little longer!

bradders85 · 12/04/2015 18:28

Glad everything turned out ok cat must have been scary to wake up too.

I have my growth scan tomorrow so am curious to see what they say and to see just how big this baby is!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 12/04/2015 19:14

That must have been scary Cat, I'm
Glad baby is still tucked up safe though, so many babies are deciding to come and meet us early! It must be the lovely weather Grin
Only 2 more days for me before induction, I'm strangely calm and DP is more panicky, he keeps asking me if I'm nervous or scared/excited, I'm more just pleased to meet her/him and get it through it with everyone safe and well. Smile
