Glad it wasn't your waters bradders DH also laughs and tells me I must have just wet myself. Good shout on the summer clothes!

Sounds fun Leanne hope you got some great pictures

Great news that your Mum will be going home turquoise

just you sound very organised, I had forgotten about the car seat base, will need to pop that in at some point.

Smiley don't think it helps that all the summer stuff is now out in the shops. Am also having to restrain myself

BeanCalledPickle · 07/04/2015 20:40

My first day of unofficial maternity leave. I rearranged my underwear drawer. I also watched Ghandi because DH was horrified that I've never watched it. I retrieved some baby clothes from the loft. I despaired at the fact I have about fifty baby gros in 0-3 and about a dozen in newborn. What was I thinking. Even if I'd changed her every time there was a tiny bit of sick on her I would never have needed all of that. You need about fifteen! Last time I also made the first time mum mistake of washing everything beforehand so I couldn't take the huge amount of unneeded clothes back. Learn from me ladies! Do not overbuy and do not wash everything!

Royalsteph · 07/04/2015 22:51

I don't start maternity leave until I'm 39w, but going to pack my hospital bag this week just in case I go before (although I was late with both dc's so probably won't!!) had a fab easter weekend with the dc's. went for a 3 mile walk earlier and omg did my feet and hands (?!?) hurt after Sad

applecore0317 · 08/04/2015 07:42

Too late bean I already have way too many....

A lot of them have been given to me though.

Wow royal I'm not surprised your feet hurt, I can't imagine walking a mike, let alone 3!

I have come to the conclusion that a good nights sleep won't happen for another two years at least. Kept myself awake late last night thinking I might sleep longer and might not wake up as much... no chance!

So glad I am not working now

SmileyScooby · 08/04/2015 08:04

apple I agree the summer stuff is super cute! There was a lovely short legged romper suit that I so very very nearly bought but stopped myself.

steph wow 3 miles, the route we do each day (20 or sometimes 30 mins if I'm on a slow day) is only 1 mile, although if we've got bored of an evening sometimes will go out and do the same route again. Hands might have hurt as needed water? I used to find this when did DofE etc that if didn't drink enough my hands hurt as they slightly swelled. Dunno how you could work up to 39w...I was knackered by the end of last week and that was 34w...you must be superwoman!

Well am 35w today, in theory only 5 weeks to go...crazy to think that the time I've got left is roughly the time I didn't know I was already pregnant!! Today's plan of action is to get up (would be a start!!), have shower, drive to shops (am happy to walk but DH told me off for walking it on my own last time!) get a few bits and bobs and then crack on with this school work so I can hopefully take it back into work next week and then switch off from school and relax on sofa watching all the tv programs and films I have lined up for when on maternity leave (preferably for before little man arrives!)

Looks like might be another sunny day so may get some washing on the line as well.

applecore0317 · 08/04/2015 08:20

Sounds like a good day planned smiley minus the school work that is :)

Am 33 weeks today, and that really puts it in perspective when you say time left almost equals how far gone I was when I found out Shock

leanne963 · 08/04/2015 08:30

apple yup the no sleep for the next 2 years seems like a fair prediction! I've been up since 5 with achey hips :( I miss sleep ha!!

Blondie87 · 08/04/2015 09:28

Oh Turquoise that is fab news about your mum. Being out of hospital will make such a difference for your family.

Wow I'm impressed Royal that you're working until 39 weeks! Was meant to finish at 38 weeks but just get so tired. As a teacher, the Easter holidays couldn't have come at a better time. Feel the best I've felt in ages in terms of stress and tiredness. Only got 3 days next week then finish next Thursday! Although why I decied to set three sets of mocks over those days I have no idea, crazy amounts of marking!

Bradders phew glad it wasn't your waters! Always best to get checked out.

leanne maternity photos shoot sounds like fun!

Got a midwife appt today, I'm intrigued to know what my FH is measuring at. Everyone keeps saying how huge my bump is but I've always measured in line with weeks. Last one was 31cm at 31w5..... Questions to ask her but wondering if anyone else can shed light on them:
Once/twice a day I get period pains and a hard bump, often after a wee??
Really thirsty all the time- is this normal?

Enjoy the sunshine everyone, good opportunity to get some vitamin D for our little babies!

Royalsteph · 08/04/2015 10:13

not superwoman!! work is 5 mins round the corner from me. I have a fab boss that has put me on reduced hours so only working 4 hours a day, he normally sends me home after lunch too. I left early with both my dc's and was bored very quickly so figured I would wait a bit, if I go into labour before 39w my mat leave will automatically start.

Scottishgal78 · 08/04/2015 11:35

royal I'm working till 38w. Off for Easter and think I'll struggle to go back! Main reason I'm stopping then is it'll be the day after the last exam I teach. Hope I make it!

Had a scan yesterday (was scheduled ages ago due to low lying placenta but an earlier scan had already said it'd moved). Sonographer was lovely and just quickly checked the placenta then spent the time trying to get a close up of his face! He wasn't really for it tho! Measuring fine and estimated 4.5 lb at 33 weeks.

Scottishgal78 · 08/04/2015 11:38

blondie I'm drinking about 3l water a day. Always thirsty and get dry lips if I don't. Tbh Ive always drank 2L+ before as I exercised a lot so I've always needed a lot of hydration Grin

SmileyScooby · 08/04/2015 12:00

Well I've done my little shop and picked up maternity pads in boots (currently 3 for 2) and also some lanisoh nipple cream, I very nearly bought the cream in superdrug (£8.79) as was cheaper than Sainsburys for the 40ml tube but then saw in boots it was £7.86 :) so was quite pleased with my purchases Grin

Does anyone else feel bruised in vulva area? Sorry if TMI but when I wipe after going to loo feels sore/bruised but also when sitting/standing so not necessarily when pressure is applied. Also I had a look below earlier with a mirror and think I may have piles (although not sore there I have a fleshy lump again sorry if tmi and bowel movements have been the two extremes!!)...will ask mw tomorrow as not going to get hubby to look!

Just waiting for my lunch to cook (lazy freezer meal) then will do some more marking. I was really lacking in inspiration for food ideas when was at the shops and don't think it would be healthy for me to basically live on pasta would it!!

I've been to see my consultant today and right on cue while I was doing my urine sample I had another red bleed. I had a scan and baby is fine, still no reason for the bleed but aren't keeping me in hospital thankfully. Have to go back to PAU tomorrow for another check.

My consultant is now bringing my section forward on the back of it being my fifth bleed so two weeks today I'll be having a baby! 22nd April. I'm so excited and relieved it's all going to be over soon. The baby was weighing 5lb 9 at the scan today at 34+6 and I'll be 36+6 when he's born so hopefully I can't expect any major problems with him.
Anyone know how long I'll be kept in having him at that gestation? I was 40+1 with my son so only kept in two nights after the section.

Smiley thanks for tracking down the best price for Lansinoh! I'll be stocking up later. Was that in store? Don't know about the piles but hope they bugger off soon.
Scottish glad your scan went well. We seem to be on par with our weights. Not too big and not too small hopefully!
Bradders glad everything fine. Always worth getting checked out.

Tori malteaser cheesecake sounds divine!!! Have you got recipe? I've got a box of malteasers Grin well done on completing baby shopping!

Turquoise sorry to hear another bleed but atleast they aren't making you stay in again and wow 2 weeks!!!! And Yep the lanisoh was in store just seen that online it is £7.87 so 1p dearer than in store

Royalsteph · 08/04/2015 12:33

lanisoh is on amazon for £7.49 with free delivery if that helps anyone that doesn't have a sainsburys near them Smile

applecore0317 · 08/04/2015 13:04

Glad they've bought it forwards turquoise so that you don't have anymore scares. More April babies, can't wait :D

Have got all my babygrows on the washing line and think someone over the back has decided that now will be a good time to burn stuff in their garden Angry

bradders85 · 08/04/2015 13:12

blondie hope your midwife appointment goes well today.

scottish pleased your scan went well :) I had a scan around a similar time and baby was estimated at 4lb 4oz so we seems to be the same!
turquoise pleased you don't have to stay in hospital again despite another bleed......and you have your date! How exciting!

smiley good luck with the marking.....luckily I managed to get all mine sorted before Easter. I know it's hard to find the motivation.....especially when the sun is shining!!

I had midwife this morning (36+6) bloods taken again as currently on iron, urine ok etc. FH remains big though (38w) so she has referred me for another scan - this will be the second extra one I have had - as continuously above the top line on chart. Just waiting to hear now when appointment will be - another opportunity to see baby though so quite happy for now unless they conform my sumo baby fears!!!! :)

bradders85 · 08/04/2015 13:12

oh apple how annoying!!

leanne963 · 08/04/2015 13:42

Blondie I am always thirsty, have a 1.5L bottle of water with me all day and fill it up more than once, if i even feel remotely thirsty i imagine her being thirsty then i drink more ha! Completely irrational but, hey, thats how my mind works lol

smiley I too feel tender when i wipe and i also have a few little bumps around the bottom area which i am assuming are piles! My nether region is so attractive right now ha!

Tori Malteaser cheesecake?! Omg, i bet that tastes delicious!!! i wish i knew how to bake and stuff i just am too lazy ahhh!

Oooooh turquoise I know i said it in the fb group, but how exciting!!! My bday is April the 22nd and all i have to look forward to on this date this year is that my dissertation is due that day! ha! So i will be thinking of you and your baby on that day :D

Oh apple how annoying!!!!! So typical, why do people do that!? why burn stuff?!

Bradders haha sumo baby! that made me giggle! I am sure baby will be average size, if not (as mine was estimated to be 3lbs at 29 weeks) i was told that big babies are easier to birth! sooo.....every cloud ha!

applecore0317 · 08/04/2015 13:42

Thankfully the wind has moved the smoke in the other direction

Hope the estimates are wrong bradders and that baby isn't sumo

Blondie87 · 08/04/2015 15:20

Leanne just back from midwife and she said that it's normal to be thirsty as there is lots of fluid going to the baby etc and just go with it!

Talking of attractive nether regions, the hair follicles on my lady bits seem to get a bit irritated- anyone else had this? Oh the glamours!

turquoise that's so exciting that you have your date and know exactly when you'll meet your baby!!

Midwife said baby is in the correct position atm, head down going into pelvis and back facing outwards. Hope he continues to be a good little boy! FH at 34w5 is 35cm- does that sound big? Midwife is always non-committal at saying whether he seems big, although I know it's not an accurate science! I'd be interested to see where other people are measuring at.
Bradders I just have images of a little sumo baby in a nappy, made me laugh!

leanne963 · 08/04/2015 15:25

Yes blondie everywhere I usually shave is now irritated! My armpits are vile at the moment really red and sensitive!!
