Ooh I don't know about if you are pregnant, just assumed they would... leanne

Chookford · 07/04/2015 09:33

leanne pile cream is ok to use when pregnant... Well it always used to be anyway!!

tits as others have said don't back down on this one, it's such an important thing don't feel bullied into it! Tell your dh to do one!

I'm having period cramps on and off since yesterday... Nothing major just mild but don't remember having this with my dd.. It's totally normal yes? I gave the consultant today so will ask them too!!!

applecore0317 · 07/04/2015 09:47

Possibly a sign that you need to rest chook midwife told me to rest for a couple of days, take paracetamol, have a bath and if no better to contact the assesment unit. Mine stopped after a few days rest

Chookford · 07/04/2015 09:52

Yes maybe apple I have had quite a busy easter weekend so maybe baby is trying to tell me it needs a rest! I will do as suggested and see if it eases thanks!

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/04/2015 10:15

Thanks for all the support yesterday, I've decided I'm not going to let it stress me out, we'll discuss it when we need to and I shall firmly point out the way I feel and that's that, DP is generally very reasonable, I don't think we've had an argument or disagreement (lasting more than 5 mins) the whole time we've been together. Smile

I need to do my online shopping now, hit me with ideas of quick, healthy meals for 3 adults and 3 children, I have a ton of pasta and sauces I've made and jarred/frozen.

I don't need to batch cook because MIL will be staying so between the 3 of us we can sort dinner, plus the older 2 children have a hot school dinner everyday anyway. I don't have time nor energy to go and buy foil trays for batch cooking now anyway.

DP is keen to get back into eating healthy, he's been off the wagon for a while now so he's hoping to jump back on and mil Is on a low fat diet so ideas of things to have handy please. Smile

Hairy Bikers lasagne is good. Made with sheets of leeks instead of pasta, pretty easy to make and if you make enough of the mince you can have it for spag bol another night that week with wholemeal spaghetti.

Another one is taglietelle with pancetta cubes/bacon, mushrooms, peppers and philli. Low fat and something the kids in our family will eat.

Homemade chicken nuggets. Sliced chicken breasts dipped in egg and then either breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes.

gingerfluffball · 07/04/2015 10:59

Good plan tits Smile for what it's worth, I also think you are being entirely reasonable.

Chook let us know what your consultant says about the cramps, I was also going to ask mine on Thursday but keen for some earlier words of wisdom!

applecore0317 · 07/04/2015 11:05

Ratatouille is also a good one for pasta sauces, just peppers, courgettes, onions and aubergine then add the sauce

KittyVonCatsington · 07/04/2015 11:47

leanne I asked DH to get me some Anusol as I couldn't be bothered to wait for GP appointment. (Midwife had already said it was fine to use) Job done!! Still have them 'appear' during a particularly nasty BM but the arrival of Kitlet should sort that out!!

Chookford · 07/04/2015 12:41

Will do ginger!

bradders85 · 07/04/2015 15:20

Some good suggestions I want to make some pasta sauces too :) thanks.
I have been for a facial this morning as my last bit of pampering, was lovely and the lady could see baby moving under the towels!!

Something odd has just happened.....I have either just wet myself or some of my waters have gone?!! I was just sat on the sofa watching tv and then just leaked!! Didn't feel like I needed a wee or anything but it was enough to soak through pants and leave a damp patch on chair! Phoned day unit and going at 4:30 to check told me to put a pad on - can't feel anything else now so wondering if I have just wet myself......it didn't smell much to me! Confused

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/04/2015 15:37

It might be hind waters Bradders, I get little mini puddles like this with all of my pregnancies and it's always hind waters, they don't worry much about those but best to leave a pad in and check.
Also, if you lay down for a while then stand up, if it's your waters they should pool and then you'll feel them when you stand up, it's easier sometimes to tell if it's a slow leak. Good luck! Smile

Chookford · 07/04/2015 16:13

bradders I was going to say hind waters too, hope all is ok!

Consultant was fine have to wait until next scan to see if c-section is required or not! She wasn't too concerned about the mild period cramps just said keep an eye on them if they get more frequent and painful to come in for monitoring as it could be a sign that labour is starting... God I hope it isn't am moving in 2 weeks! Confused

Turquoisetamborine · 07/04/2015 16:27

Bradders hope you are at hospital now and they are reassuring you. If you aren't getting pains or any other symptoms hopefully it's just your hind waters.
Chook hope you get moved before the baby comes!! I sometimes get period pains too when I need to go to the loo. Could be that?
apple nice recipe ideas. I do need to start cooking as I'm probably going to be doing lunch for my mam everyday too as she's coming out of hospital! She appears to have no lasting affects from the aneurysm. She says her leg is a bit weak but that could be from the lumbar puncture. Just waiting for the final tests to come back and it could be today or tomorrow. Thankyou for all your support. I know we have a long road ahead but so happy she's still here with us.
Other than that I'm in mad nesting mode but H says I'm like this all the time. It's always me who arranges to get jobs done or says this needs done to him. I think he would still be living at home with his parents if it wasn't for me. I make all the decisions!

Chookford · 07/04/2015 16:58

turquoise yeah it may have been the need to go to the loo Blush I've been now sorry for Tmi so hopefully no more cramps!

That's great news about your mum, it must be such a relief for you and your family...

Justyouwaitandsee · 07/04/2015 17:17

Aww great news turquoise - so pleased for you all Smile worthwhile reading up on head injuries as some things can become more noticeable at home - impact on memory, stamina and senses etc (my mum lost both her sense of taste and smell but didn't notice straightaway). Good to hear your mum seems to have no lasting effects though. Will they refer her to the outpatient brain injury clinic? This can also help the person to come to terms with what they have been through and getting back to normal life. My mum found it really helpful to have that bit of extra support, especially when to most people she looked like she was entirely back to her old self.

I have almost completed my first proper day of mat leave - and we certainly picked a good time of year for it! Our bathroom is being tiled, I have spoken to an electrician and have had someone round to fix our broken patio door. Baby's hospital bag is packed and the car seat base is fitted in the car. Have ordered furnishings for the nursery and should be able to collect those by tomorrow Smile had my birth plan midwife appt this afternoon and all looks good. Baby moving and measuring well but I have lost 2kg since she last weighed me. I think this is a combination of how busy we have been, along with baby eating up all the calories I'm consuming.

Hoping everything goes ok at the check up Bradders - let us know how you get on!!

bradders85 · 07/04/2015 18:01

Hi ladies.....all ok here, wasn't waters of any description just watery discharge apparently!! very odd as it definately flowed out like wee!! eww! Monitored baby for a while and did internal examination and all ok with baby and cervix closed. So, dp now calling me pissy pants! haha!

turquoise pleased your mum is coming home soon and appears to have no long lasting effects.

chook pleased consultant app went well and hope you get moved before baby decides to make an appearance.

just sounds like you have had a very productive day.

I'll be back to nesting mode tomorrow and also got midwife appointment in the morning too.

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/04/2015 18:04

It's alright Bradders, my own mother called me drippy knickers whilst I was pregnant with my DS1 after a late night trip to labour ward after my first experience of 'mystery leakage' Grin
I'm glad you've been checked and everything is ok though. Smile

bradders85 · 07/04/2015 18:10

.haha tits it's funny all these nicknames! :) Well I shall put that down as an experience.....another lesson learnt whilst I was there too - told dp when the time does come to have the baby he needs to be in his summer gear - it was so hot in there!!!

Justyouwaitandsee · 07/04/2015 18:19

Oh good to hear bradders! And yes to the summer hear. I have bought a black bandeau beach dress and DH is planning to pack a t shirt, board shorts and flip flops!!!

bradders85 · 07/04/2015 18:21

yes we will all look like we are going abroad turning up with our hospital bags too.....I'm going to take some mini ice blocks, a cool bag and a mini hand held fan too!

Justyouwaitandsee · 07/04/2015 18:28

Ooh good thinking!! My last post meant to say 'summer gear' Wink

leanne963 · 07/04/2015 18:40

Chook I always get terrible cramps first thing in the morning before i have a bowel movement then everything is fine! But it could just be that you need rest :)

Turquoise Glad your mum is doing well, so sorry you have had to go through all of this, i can't begin to imagine how hard it has been...

Bradders Glad it wasn't your waters, that is what i ended going into hospital for a month ago. Stood up and i felt like water just gushed out (only a small amount) but it was bloody too so they kept me in overnight just to check the blood wasn't anything sinister. But like you it was just watery discharge mixed with a small bleed from a sensitive cervix! Scary though ha!

Just what a productive day you have had!!! You have got so much done!! You got much more planned for the week?

This sunshine is amazing, i am fully ready to enjoy this Summer with baby! All i seem to want to eat at the moment is ice cream and ice lollies ha!
Had a maternity shoot this morning, was helping out a local photographer to update her maternity portfolio! Was lots of fun!

SmileyScooby · 07/04/2015 19:35

Thanks peeps for making me calm down abit about nursery and how we don't seem to be getting anything done fast...I want to get plasterer in but DH is just saying to paper...gonna be skyping his parents later this week so will ask FIL opinion hehe

turquoise so pleased to hear your mum is going to be coming out of hospital

bradders glad to hear all ok.

just certainly sounds like you have been busy today, great feeling to get things ticked off the list! You've just reminded me we need to order the base for the cabriofix that can be belted and isofixed as my car doesn't have isofix but DH one does.

I've been semi productive today and got a bit of marking done, also treated myself to a podiatrist appointment so I now have nice looking feet again - they were starting to look minging (well what I could see of them) and attempting to cut toe nails was a hassle and no way was I going to let DH near me with nail scissors!!

Got midwife appt later this week supposed to be 34w one but will be 35w as it was cancelled last week as she was ill, have booked 36w one for next week so I don't forget (although she may say not to worry?) I wonder what the FH will be this time...at 28w it was 29.5 and at 31w it was 33.

Am having to restrain myself from ordering loads of cute clothes from supermarkets hehe some great bodysuits on Tesco and loving some of the ASDA outfits...

Scottishgal78 · 07/04/2015 19:39

Aw turquoise so glad to hear your mum will be home soon!
