Had midwife yesterday at 34+1 measured at 36 , she said that since baby had bum sticking out it made measurement bigger and that every midwife measures slightly differently so I shoukdnt read too much into it, I'm only 5ft 2 and have small torso longer legs so figure hope to hell she has less room to grow, like those fish that grow to the size of the tank they live in, IYKWIM

turquoise Oooh two weeks today!! That's the day I move... It's a busy day for us ladies! Haha sorry to hear you had another bleed but glad they are now taking baby out a little earlier, you will be having those newborn snuggles so soon!

I'm having sore skin too mine is so dry it's ridiculous... I've tried every cream I can think of and its still not much better, hopefully once baby is here my normal skin will come back to me! Grin

tori omg that cheesecake sounds amaze balls!!!!

Tori - i feel your pain!
Hmm
My DH is being rubbish too! I feel like I can't comment/have a wee moan about all my aches and pains (and there are many) without him moaning that he only wants to know when it's labour starting. Although he is partly joking, it would be nice if he would just acknowledge that I'm uncomfortable!

bradders85 · 08/04/2015 16:57

snooky I agree my midwife also said that fh can change depending on how baby is lying.

tori sumo babies together! :) I could see the midwife pondering as to whether or not to send me to scan again as although always above 90th pc line this one jumped slightly more and so wasn't following the same curve (although not much in it as far as I can see!) Anyway, I could see her mind ticking over so she eventually said she'd send me which I don't mind - will get a better baby weight estimate too and due in 3 weeks! Still not heard about appointment though.

Also tori and lina so with you on the pain front. Too long on my feet and I am in real pain - the worse is when in bed though! Very painful to turn over/get comfortable and when I do turn something in my left hip has started clicking!! Hmm

Quite a productive day here, washing done, batches of lasagne made and bedroom all cleared out and tidied. Out for a pub meal and quiz tonight so got that to look forward too. :)

Chookford · 08/04/2015 17:23

tori and lina sorry to hear your hubby's aren't being supportive of your aches and pains! Smack them up the head when they get home...Smile

bradders hope your scan proves you don't have a sumo! Ha sure it will be fine, and you are due in 3 weeks? Blimey time really is flying isn't it!

I've just packed 3 boxes ready for the move and now I can't do anything! Blush my dd had to take my socks off for me as I can't even bend! This does not bode well for the rest of the packing!

Sounds like fundal height is causing a few of us issues!
I too had my midwife appointment today and I measured 32cm (am 36+3 weeks). Of course this has triggered a growth scan just to make sure.
I was measuring 33cm at my 34 week appointment so must be due to the way baby is lying as midwife could feel head just above 'me bits' but no bum anywhere. It was also really painful when she was prodding me when it usually isn't and she said "oh, your contracting as well!" Nice! My first Braxton Hicks in about a month and they have to start then Blush
Scan is on Friday so keeping my fingers crossed she is absolutely fine but secretly excited to see Kitlet again as I haven't since 19+4!

Justyouwaitandsee · 08/04/2015 18:47

Very impressed with all the washing, baking and batch cooking ladies!

We had some family friends pop by this afternoon, so I tackled a deep clean on the downstairs which was still thick with dust from all the building work. Ended up dragging the sofas out to properly clean underneath and had to lie on the floor to polish under the tv unit. Looks so much better for it though! We even managed to get the table and chairs out in the garden so was nice to enjoy a bit of time relaxing in the sun.

Started putting together a snack list for the hospital. Does anyone have any good suggestions? So far I'm thinking:

Packet porridge
Flapjacks
Boiled fruit sweets
Polos
Carrot sticks
Cucumber sticks
Babybels
Frozen bottled water
Frozen bottled squash
Strawberry ribenas
Satsumas

Titsalinabumsquash · 08/04/2015 18:54

I've been measuring 2 weeks behind the whole time, no ones mentioned it, in fact I've had so little contact with health professionals this time (I was there every week last 3 times) it's been weird!

wow cake looks brilliant Tori Don't let your other half have any until he says lovely sympathetic things!

Turquoise Sorry you had another bleed! But v. jealous that you get to meet the little one so soon....

I might steal some of your snack list for the hospital just... Packet porridge is a really good idea... I'm also thinking a packet of dried figs to help combat the dreaded after birth constipation as well as somethings chocolatey for a reward and some kind of healthy cereal bars for energy.....

applecore0317 · 09/04/2015 03:37

Blondie Leanne I get that, the only way for me to avoid it is to wax...

Am definitely going to have to make that cheesecake tori looks so good!!! Sorry your SPD is causing you so much pain

Hope the pub quiz was fun bradders good going on the batch cooking, I need to do some for next week as the kitchen floor is being taken up and replaced.

chhok I really can't imagine having to move at this stage, makes me glad that we are staying put for a few more months

Hope the growth scan goes well kitty and that you get a good view of kitlet. I struggled to make most of it out, but the sonographer was going quite quickly

Liking the snack list just need to get DH to make a list of stuff he wants and my Mum too, one less thing to think about then.

twinkle hadn't thought about that, may have to take some of the Ella's kitchen prune purees with me just in case I don't get a chance to make some.

Actually giving up on sleep tonight, sleeping on my side makes everything ache and makes my bump rock hard. Sitting up partly now with a numb arse!

Turquoisetamborine · 09/04/2015 08:02

Tori is all that cheesecake gone now?? It would be in my house. I'm actually going to have to go to a cafe and buy myself some cheesecake after seeing it!
apple hope you got some sleep in the end and got comfy.
I plan to veet my bikini line before my section. Think this will be ok. I don't want them shaving me.
Kit how nice to have another scan at this point. I don't know how you've contained yourself since the last one! I had another one yesterday and got a photo of his face. Couldn't make much out though. Me and the sonographer are on each others Christmas cards list I've had so many!
Chook hope you aren't overdoing if with the packing. I think you are amazing moving house at this stage of pregnancy.

I decided I would touch up the magnolia paint on the staircase yesterday but of course I haven't used the same paint so it will all need to be done again. Frantically texted a few decorators yesterday, no joy so then tried to convince H that we should buy an extendable pole so he could do it as the staircase is high but he says that wouldn't work. Wish I'd left it now. It looks ridiculous and it's really really bothering me. I need it done before the baby comes home!!

Chookford · 09/04/2015 08:58

turquoise I'm not amazing... Just need to get on with it really, packing needs to be sorted soon! Although I did get told off by my dh when he got home as I was in pain! I did that with magnolia paint a few months ago so had to repaint the entire flat! It's a pain in the arse isn't it! Sure it will be sorted before bubba comes home..

kitty enjoy your growth scan, as turquoise said I'm on first name terms with my sonograper... Baby is so large now it's hard to work out what's what but sure it will be lovely to see her again all the same..

bradders hope the pub quiz went well? Did you win? Wink

Apple hope you managed to get some sleep in the end?

tori I say again that cheesecake =amaze balls!

applecore0317 · 09/04/2015 09:07

May be worth a facebook post Turqoise to see if anyond can recommend a painter and decorater

sleep was horrendous! managed to squeeze in a couple more hours... got to make my non baby shower cake today, just doing sponge and crumb icing today then fondant icing and decoration tomorrow :) plus scones, meringues and loads of goodies for the afternoon tea Grin

gingerfluffball · 09/04/2015 09:26

V impressed with all of you painting and baking and moving house, it's all I can do to make dinner before wanting a nap!

Heard today that bigger babies are easier to push out so a bit of reassurance there for any potential sumos Smile

I'm going to need to check out this famous cheesecake aren't I... think an imminent trip to a shop that sells cheesecake may be in order afterwards! Cheesecake has been one of my previous pregnancy cravings so will warn DH Grin

LinaDee · 09/04/2015 09:29

Morning everyone -

I think we've all well and truly entered the "lack-of-sleep training" part of our pregnancies.
My hips are killing me, turning over makes me think of what it must be like when zoos have to try and move a baby elephant and to top it all off, I was woken by sudden, almighty leg cramp about 4am this morning. It eventually went away but my leg still feels very tender, even now.
I've got so much washing/ironing/baby clothes sorting that I want to do today but I'm really struggling to get going. DD has been dropped off at nursery and I'm feeling a bit guilty about her being there now that I'm on Mat leave Hmm
Think I'm in for a real down day

leanne963 · 09/04/2015 09:35

turqouise I did a vet session the other day, was a bit worried I would have a reaction what with being super sensitive but it was great! So I am 100% doing that leading up to labour!!

Sorry you are not sleeping apple it sucks :( maybe have a bath next time at least it might relax your muscles and make you sleepier then you can try again!

Aw lina I think sleep is a distant memory now ha! Look after yourself today, if you need a nap don't feel guilty I read online that naps are actually encouraged at this stage!!! I slept from 10-12 yesterday after being awake since 5am! It really helped me!!!

BeanCalledPickle · 09/04/2015 09:53

I went to whipsnade yesterday, which is the seventh circle of hell on a sunny day in school holidays, and my DD was pointing at the baby elephant and my bump and saying mummy baby. Which I think is just about right!

On the sleep front I got way more sleep with a new born that I ever did pregnant last time. It does depend on your baby but whereas at the moment everything conspired to wake us, nighttime breastfeeding actually helps you to sleep. I was surprised. And it helps that generally you don't have much to do in the day. Before it's always work or something in the way. Now it's which box set are you watching.

Bikini line - can I recommend a top and tail for all. When I had my section they hacked off my hair into my blanket and it was still there when I returned from theatre. Entirely grim. Get an inch off the top to be safe!

Turquoisetamborine · 09/04/2015 10:14

Leanne glad you've tested out the veet for us!! I'll stick some on later.
Bean I'm trying to make myself believe that I'm hardly going to get any sleep but you are right that beyond the first few nights, it's actually ok if you are breastfeeding. I got quite a lot of sleep by feeding to sleep. I was probably in bed for 10 hours a night to get 6 hours sleep but I can cope on 6 hours.
I never once took the baby downstairs in the night and never talked to him. Just kept the room dark and quiet and he would go back off to sleep before the next feed.
Hope I can do this again.

leanne963 · 09/04/2015 10:27

That is exactly my plan turquoise No stimulation, noise or light at night time then in the day time go about my usual routine and stuff then hopefully (hopefully being the key word) baby will realise night time is the best time to get sleep!! Ooooh the naivety of a ftm haha!!

KittyVonCatsington · 09/04/2015 10:52

Tits -I think as long as you are going up steadily in measurements, they will allow a 3cm 'give' either way. For me, I imagine it was because there was no growth increase at all that has prompted a growth scan. Let's hope Kitlet is just in an awkward position!!

Oh Lina you poor thing with all that pain-really difficult to still keep functioning Sad Just think that anything you do today is a 'win' Grin

You went to Whipsnade yesterday Bean-my sister and her two kids were also there yesterday too Smile probably explains why she was so knackered when I spoke to her-sounds manic!! I'm trying to keep myself trim down here with an electric razor but not actually getting everything off iyswim? Just a bit shorter! Maybe I'll pale a little Hoover in my hospital bag!! Wink

Good tip on keeping everything quiet and not talking to baby during night feeds Turquoise-will try and remember that to see if it works for me!

KittyVonCatsington · 09/04/2015 10:53
