I had my last two babies in Newcastle and having this one on Sheffield. The midwife talked me through the csection here and the main difference is my partner was in for the spinal injection in newcastle but here they do that and prep you before allowing partners in.
The spinal is the bit I am most scared of, do you think if I argue enough they will bend the rules?

longestlurkerever · 05/04/2015 11:36

Happy Easter everyone! Off hunting with dd in a few mins. Unfortunately gd means I can't have any chocolate Sad but got a lovely mug and wasabi peas from dh and dd.

Has anyone else felt baby change position recently? She feels much lower and I suddenly need the loo all the time so think she is pressing on my bladder. Bit worried as am only 32 weeks but she has maybe risen again a bit today.

TwinkleTee · 05/04/2015 11:47

Thanks for the replies! I'm glad/ but not glad that others are having similar experiences... helps me to know that I'm not cracking up!

hugs and Cake and Flowers to us as we bumble our way through the next few weeks

leanne963 · 05/04/2015 15:43

Longest I can be sitting on the sofa not needing a wee, then all of a sudden she will move and i will feel like i am about to pee myself ha! Its weird!!

Cock Glad the contractions stopped, hope you are feeling well today!

Kitty I too have been having an increase in CM always more first thing in the morning, don't know whether it is a change in gravity ha!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!! I had a rubbish nights sleep on friday night after having mine and DPs parents round. My mum and her husband were really bothering me after making comments about how he was going to be called 'grumpy gramps' and that he was going to go hide in his shed away from the two grandchildren (SIL due in 3 weeks) and that he was going to tell them to 'sod off' if they bothered him. Mum was laughing about how funny it is gonna be and then he said they will learn their first swear word from him.....

Am i justified in being really really uncomfortable with this idea!? I don't know what to say to my mum cause me and her are just getting our relationship back on track and she is genuinely excited about being a nana but i do not want my daughter telling me and partner to 'sod off' and thinking it is funny!? I wish it was just an act but he is like this with his mates small children. I couldn't stop thinking about it :(

Titsalinabumsquash · 05/04/2015 16:23

Finally! I think we're ready, bedroom sorted, cot ready and made up, monitor all set up with sensor pad, mobile attached etc. clothes sorted and put away, car seat stashed away in the car boot and bags packed.

Now I can flake out and eat chocolate Grin

I have had a real sudden increase in CM over the past 2-3 days, to the point that I've started wearing pads because I thought my waters were leaking Blush

I'm hoping there is a take away open today somewhere, I have a roast to cook but I'll do it tomorrow, I'm knackered now.

Leanne don't stress it - wait till LO is here. I'm sure you'll be surprised how people you don't think will take kids do. If he does turn out to be 'grumpy gramps' or is swearing in front of them then say something.

leanne963 · 05/04/2015 16:54

I know you are right Scottish even my brother said 'wait and see' but i just have annoying anxiety that leaves me worrying about things way out of my control. Hate not being able to sleep cause i worry about silly things!

Scottishgal78 · 05/04/2015 20:47

I know what you mean Leanne. I've found myself getting up for the loo and a thought will pop into my head and I'm up for two hours fretting about it!

Btw think I'll have a tennis fan on my hands. He's wriggling about like crazy while I shout at the tennis!Grin

applecore0317 · 05/04/2015 21:31

Hope you have all had a nice Easter :)

Leanne try not to worry about it at the moment, you'll easily put your foot down when the time comes

Can't comment on the increased CM as the pessaries provide enough so wouldn't be able to tell..

Felt that last weekend longest turned out that she had actually moved right down in my pelvis, constantly feeling like I need a wee

gingerfluffball · 06/04/2015 00:38

Leanne I wouldn't worry, think we're all quicker to get offended at the moment Wink I got in a right state today hearing a relative say that me and dh are on another planet with all the baby stuff going on at the moment. Which I'm sure is true (and probably normal?) but it pissed me right off!

Like the others have said wait and see what they're like at the time. If there's any of this sod off nonsense you'll be justified to be annoyed then. Smile

Hope it went well with all the parents together.

leanne963 · 06/04/2015 01:02

Thanks ginger apple and scottish I am definitely easier to piss off at the moment haha! I'm usually so chilled I don't know why I am so uptight at the moment!

Currently in the bath as the restless legs are relentless tonight! Hoping the bath with do something!

Titsalinabumsquash · 06/04/2015 09:07

Omg, night from hell last night!

I spent the evening dithering about calling the ward because of sudden intense back ache and pressure in my bum, I didn't in the end because nothing regular was happening, I had dinner (burger from a takeaway) which lead to 4 hours solidly of brung very, very sick with violent shaking in between each bout of sickness which was every 15-20 mins.

I can really feel the baby right, right down low this morning, it's really uncomfortable, if she's not fully engaged by now I'll be very surprised, although I know they bob in and out after you've already had a baby.

OP posts:
longestlurkerever · 06/04/2015 09:19

Oh tits that sounds awful. Hope everything calms down. I think my baby is popping in and out of the engaged position too but I haven't felt that awful.

Chookford · 06/04/2015 09:27

tits hope your ok... Sounds unpleasant!!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

leanne as others have said just ignore silly comments like that, and if they do things like that once your dd is here then let rip!

longest I'm still waiting to feel that, baby is breech so hoping it turns soon!!! (I'm 33+1)

Will have a proper read through thread later today, hope everyone is ok though!! Smile

Justyouwaitandsee · 06/04/2015 09:33

Grrr! Just typed a long message but then page froze and ate the lot. Does this happen to anyone else?

Hope you're both ok tits and leanne. Sounds rubbish!

I have just got an Ovia message saying I am now full term (37wks tomorrow) and baby is almost ready to be born at anytime!! Eek! How did that happen?! ShockGrin

leanne963 · 06/04/2015 10:23

Oh tits you don't think baby will arrive before the planned date do you?! Oh take care of yourself that doesn't sound fun :( big hug!!

bradders85 · 06/04/2015 11:44

oh tits that sounds awful hope you are ok and things have settled down.

just I have the ovia app too so will be getting that same message on Wednesday :) - time is flying by!!
I have been out this morning and stocked up on some household stuff like non bio washing tabs and conditioner!! (whilst on offer!)
I got a second hand chicco next2me co sleeper crib ages ago so just hand washed the lining and appear to have got more water over me and the floor!!! Ordered a new mattress for it too so last few preparations underway!! More batch cooking underway too :) Hope you all have a lovely day.

leanne963 · 06/04/2015 11:48

Hopefully tori you will notice movements more when you rest up with your kindle. But you should get checked if you are concerned - they won't think you crackers!

leanne yes trying to be productive but it's not good for my PGP so keep having to rest up in between jobs.....I am proper waddling now!! I agree I dread to think how I would cope if having a summer baby, last few nights I have been having hot flushes and thats bad enough!!

Funny how we are all obviously nesting and having productive sounding days - I think the sunshine helps a bit! DH is still working on the bathroom plumbing and my MIL and I have painted the nursery a bright sunny yellow! Just having a bit of a break and trying to work out what to do next. It is hard to clean when we have so many tools and baby stuff stacked everywhere. cant wait to get the nursery ready (carpet ordered on Saturday) so I can start getting all the baby stuff organised and stored out of the way! Easter Smile

bradders85 · 06/04/2015 15:39

just sunny yellow paint sounds ace and bet it looks lovely with the sun shining too! It's lovely getting the nursery sorted - I've just got to wash more clothes and store them away but apart from that nursery is sorted.

tori PGP is slowly me down and my lower back is now killing me!

Decided for some unknown reason to sort both mine and dp's wardrobe = mass of clothes on bed and more mess!! I am bagging up old clothes that have seen better days or will probably never fit again ready to donate/recycle! Then vacuum packing workwear I don't need cluttering up the wardrobe.......it really is one of those jobs I wish I had never started!!!

bradders85 · 06/04/2015 15:40

tori chicken and bacon pasta sauce sounds lovely too! I am making cottage pie's today!
