Smoleat your consultant.I am 37 and dp is 42 we are having no tests and i suppose we think we will 'get what we are given'[not terribly well put]...You and your partner must make the decisions that you feel are right for you.
It is frosty here this morning..the grass is all white and there is mist hovering over the hills and the sky is bright blue.I feel festive!
I can feel Bean moving quite alot now.But get wooried if i haven't for a while.I suppose thats normal?
Hope we all have a lovely day.

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2006 09:47

Gosh it is chilly here!! Just put a VERY grouchy, tired DD1 down for a rest - she seems a bit bleurgh this morning, poor lamb - probably the cold - I've given her a monkey hot water bottle that she loves to cuddle - Don't worry, I haven't filled it up with boiling water - He's still hot from where DH got up at 1.30am and filled him up!!!! THAT'S how cold it is here!!!!!! Brrrrr!

Did DH get home ok last night nutty? Did you managed to stay up??

Oooooh, of you going to Corfu WCL - Glady ou had a super break and got to catch up with your friend as well. Sounds lovely.

When does DH get back today GGF? How are you feeling about it!!?

Sorry to hear you have been feeling so awful geordie - hope you are back to full health soon honey!

Mmmmmm, I'm 15 weeks today - hurrah!

runnyhabbit · 02/11/2006 10:03

Morning all

Very cold here too - but lovely festive weather! So cold last night, dh left the heating on all night. Must have been cold, cos he usually tells me off for having the heating on in the first place.

For the first time ever, (in both pregnancies) I was sick this morning. (sorry if you've had breakfast ) dh had gone to work, and ds was standing next to me in the bathroom when it happened. Bless him, he didn't know what to think - neither did I. Didn't feel sick beforehand, and I felt fine afterwards. So well in fact, bump told me to have quavers and chocolate for breakfast, washed down with a bottle of water

That'll teach me to be smug about not being sick.....

17+2 today
x

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2006 10:13

Awww, runny, poor you! Quavers and choc in bed, 1st thing in the morning - Interesting ......

liath · 02/11/2006 10:14

Tee hee, Runnyhabit, my bump just told me to have 2 crumpets with butter & honey. Who am I to say no? !

doghouse · 02/11/2006 10:21

GMM - hope you feel better soon.
Finding it difficult to remember everyone's news but congrats to 1b3 on one of each! I too am a bit envious of you having twins - can't believe anyone would say different,
I am drinking a lot more than usual too which I figured was a good thing, hopefully the 'habit' will continue after the birth as I am usually dreadful at having my quota.
This is my first but am finding it v interesting reading about potty training (for future reference)! Like the idea of sitting on potty during nappy changing ... seems to make sense.
Think I felt baby move on Mon night but nothing since so now thinking I imagined it! Have def got a tum though, even the girls at work commented yesterday. 'bout blimin' time!
Have a good day in the sunshine everyone - at last some proper 'seasonal' weather! Feeling festive too!! any excuse
18+2

emmymummy · 02/11/2006 10:23

Runnyhabbit - also chundered half-way through my breakfast this morning. Felt fine afterwards and went back and finished the other half. Nice.

Put on some of my normal warm winter tights, pulled them up and the arse (of the tights(!)) split open . Must be time to go and buy some maternity ones .

geordiemacminx · 02/11/2006 10:43

Well thats me back from the doctors... he looked about 12.. which means at 24 I am getting old.. its the sort of thing my granny would say I have an ear infection.. although how he knew this without even looking in my ears is anyones guess!!! Still at least I got some baby-friendly antibiotics!!

Heard bad things about maternity tights - mainly that they are a rip off and dont stay up.. apparently bigger size is a much cheaper better idea?

runnyhabbit · 02/11/2006 10:54

I got some black oaque maternity tights from m&s. Found them comfy, although I would get a size bigger than you normally are, to allow for "comfort & growth" Its one of those things that you get what you pay for ie - spend a bit more money on them, and they do fit. Would really like to get a funky patterned pair, to go with some knee high boots I've seen.

1becomes3 · 02/11/2006 10:55

so cold here aswell.
for all you with sickness today.
GMM-hope you feel better soon
Smole- your consultant sounds terrible, i decided not to have to have the scan at 12 weeks from downs 1 because I only had 2 days to decide if I wanted the whole package amnio aswell, and no one could tell me if there was a greater risk of mc for twins, I had the lecture from my mw (who I am not to keen on), and she had no right to lecture me as she was no help in telling me if there was a greater risk.
I fully support your decision to wait till 20 week scan!

I have been a cleaning goddess today I don't know why.
and for once I am going to do some work, I should really or no one will get paid!

emmymummy · 02/11/2006 10:55

Geordie - ear infections can be a nightmare (had a killer one last year that even made it impossible to eat), so it's good you'll be able to knock that one on the head.

Yes, have been completely ripped off with buying maternity tights last time I was preg. Bought some in Formes and I am too embarrassed to say how much they cost (needless to say, will not be making that mistake again). You're right, just need to go and get some a couple of sizes bigger than I would normally wear!

Ooooggs, just wanted to add my congratulations on the blue and pink beans - how absolutely wonderful .

twinkle183 · 02/11/2006 11:10

Hi guys!!!

Am taking my husband out to a meal and the cinema - first time in ages!!! I am so looking forward to it espcially as he is going away on sunday for 3 weeks not sure whether to be or about it really!!

Thanks for all the advice on the potty training front think I will wait until xmas - just before his 3rd birthday!!! He has started telling me when he is wet but won't admit to needing to go??? I must admit the potty thing can be frustrating...

Hope everyone is well - oh well back to my fifth glass of water today can't seem to get enough of the stuff!!!!

Take care

Sexonlegs · 02/11/2006 11:26

Morning all. So much to catch up on!
1becomes3, fab news about your dick and hamburger! What a gift.
Geordie, sorry to hear you are feeling rough - did make me laugh tho about saying you had an ear infecion without looking in yur ears!
I am feeling rough as shite today - head cold thing - and feel really weak. Supposed to be doing housework while dd at preschool, but have no energy. Even eaten 2 pieces of choc swiss roll to no avail.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok, and Twinkle, have a lovely evening.
Back later xx

Smole · 02/11/2006 11:44

Maybe it's the weather as I feel crap today.

I agree with you all my consultant is horrid. But I'm very good at sticking to my guns. I just think he must feel that a high risk should mean an amnio.

Ib3 - one of each. Wow.

Hopefully we'll all feel better tomorrow

16+6

nuttygirl · 02/11/2006 11:56

CD - DH got home just after 10 so not as late as i was expecting, though he was wide awake so I had a bath!!! (got to bed about 12.30...still nothing to get up for in the am so had a lie in )

It's been freezing here too, had the heating on all afternoon yesterday dread to think what the bill will be like.

Twinkle - what film are you going to see? or are you going to decide when you get there? I took DH to see the guardian the other week (although when we got there he said he'd have rather seen devil wears prada!!!??? he's meant to be a bloke) Anyway I needed my Kevin Costner fix...so he didn't get any choice!

Ooh liath you've mentioned the "C" word....I'm off to raid the bread bin...mmm...crumpets with loads of butter YUM!

Greengirlforever · 02/11/2006 13:00

I want to go and see a film ! Our nearest cinema is quite far away so its a major performance to go IYSWIM.

Well, I've had DH on the phone from London, all loving and on his best behaviour for the moment. He should be here mid afternoon. I think I'll give him the benefit of the doubt (cos' I AM delighted to have him back) but will DEFINITELY be telling him how I feel about this and that he owes me (and kids) big time. Might give him a day or two to settle back first... !

twinkle183 · 02/11/2006 13:23

nuttygirl - We are going to see Borat, culture something or other!!! Hes already seen The Guardian as thats what he does for a living but the english version through The Navy

In cornwall you can do the meal deal (Which is the cinema plus meal for something like £20) can't wait - cos the cinema we are going to has leater seats... woohoo!!!

Will do Sexonlegs and will let you know what happens tomorrow!!!

I am so excited can hardly contain myself!!!

hehehehe

twinkle183

geordiemacminx · 02/11/2006 13:27

Sounds lovely!! Wish I could stay awake long enough to go and see a film... and contain my evening puking enough for a meal. At the moment its my fantasy to be able to go out for a nice meal, have a starter, main and desert!!!! At the moment all I can manage on an evening is cheese on toast!!

Having said that.. I have just been to sainsburys and bought a huge pack of those little doughnuts covered in chocolate, some appletiser and a vat of cravendale!!!!! Oh and a stripy jumper!!!!

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2006 14:56

Poor you with your sicky evenings geordie - enjoy your goodies from Sainsburys though!

I am sat here 5 counties on Ritz crackers - v.yum!

Ditto to M&S opaque maternity tights runny - mine are fab, no complaints here - Found buying a bigger size meant they were baggy in all the wrong places, iykwim!!?

Have a wonderful evening with your DH tonight twinkle - your cinema sounds great - LOL @ "leather seats"!

liath · 02/11/2006 15:21

After a bit of swearing at the computer, here is a picture of dd hopefully

Will probably take it down in a day or two.

geordiemacminx · 02/11/2006 16:20

She's gorgeous Liath!!!

My naughty little one has just eaten 6 chocolate doughnuts.. naughty little bean!!!!

They were nice though...

CaptainDippy · 02/11/2006 16:49
Grin
Bugmum · 02/11/2006 16:56

My bean ate today half a pack of choc digestives (you can see how successful I'm being at limiting my treats )

Got my triple test results today; super-speedy, as I only had it two days ago! But I think they were rushing it through to make up for the surgery's incompetence. Very low risk in combination with nuchal scan - yay!! Good luck to those of you still waiting to hear, and for those who don't want to know, here is a [middle finger emoticon] for unhelpful consultants!

runnyhabbit · 02/11/2006 17:41

Liath - your dd is a little cutie!

Sexonlegs · 02/11/2006 17:52

Bugmum, really pleased about your test result - such a relief isn't it!?
Liath, your dd is gorgeous!
Hope everyone is ok. Freezing here. Just stuffed down fish fingers and beans with dd - will have dinner late with sh! I am soooooo hungry at the moment.
HTH xx
