Doodydoo - I would be happy for a Southern Ireland meet (I get around a lot...)! Although aren't you right in the depths? I could do Dublin as my family live in / around there and I'm planning to go across for a visit imminently !

doobydoo · 08/11/2006 18:10

OOh GGF That would be fab..but you are right i am in the depths[nr Dungarvan]I don't think i have he confidence to drive to the big smoke!I am about this..but hey if you come over for hols or anything lemme know.Hopefully by next year we will have stopped renting and be sort of trailer trash as i want land and a mobile...culchie moi?
Geordiemacminx sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but spd can start as early as the end of the first trimester.I heard someone mention spd and looked it up on the net and i reckon i have it...sodding painful.I will try and find the site i used.
Also how is it that one sip of water=at least 3 trips to the loo

CornflakeKid · 08/11/2006 18:17

GGM - I had spd last time and the pain in my right hip isn't like it at all - found something called Pelvic Girdle Pain which seems more like it - google it! Friend recommended white wine - 3 sips and I'm feeling a bit woozy already! May put it back in bottle...and I used to love pinot grigio...

I am going to design, patent, become millionairess of a bed which has a hole in the middle so you can lie on your front!

dh not home til 9pm .... roll on 7pm and bedtime!

runnyhabbit · 08/11/2006 19:25

Evening all

Yippee for a very understanding doctor!!!!!
Saw a lady doc (not my usual) who gave me a thorough examination, told me I was "quite right" to get things checked out before they get too severe. She did explain that I was quite early to be suffering from SPD. But as its my second pregnancy, I would get bigger earlier and therfore the symptoms of SPD arise earlier. She agreed that its more than likely it has returned, but a referral to physio would confirm the diagnosis. Turns out our local hospital has a "physio direct" service, where you ring up, explain your symptoms, and they take it from there (for appts etc) She also advised me to inform my mw, so that its on my maternity notes. Even managed to get appt for mw tomorrow afternoon.

So, for all of you in pain - go and see someone about it. Easier said than done, esp if your gp/mw thinks they know best. Nobody knows your body like you do, so persevere(sp?) and get the treatment you deserve!!

Sorry didn't mean to sound as if I'm ranting, but we are all doing a very important job

doobydoo · 08/11/2006 20:56

GMM...www.babycentre.co.uk...info re pelvic girdle pain and spd.Runnyhabit is right tho'.

CaptainDippy · 08/11/2006 21:38

Boo!

Awwwww, I didn't even get a chance to join in the "guess nuttygirl's rl name" comp - and she did lay down the gaunlett to me first ......

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!

Cornflake - with you on the "expecting my third, what the heck am I going to do with the car seats" issue - I will have 3 under 3.5 when this one is born and I am not happy to have a 3.2 yr old in a booster - esp. DD1 as she is naughty and wriggly enough in the car as it is!! 3 car seats WILL NOT fit in the back of our estate - Argh! DH & I would dearly love 4 children, so it seems sensible to buy a 7 seater now, but we can't afford it ....... erm ....... strap one to the roof!!!!!????

Nutty - It was me who used Terries - I wash them and dry them and then fold them and pop them away. Never had any trouble and they are sooooooo cheap! If they were good enough for my parents, they are good enough for me, iykwim!!? There's good folds for girls and boys, just google it and I'm sure you'll find an instruction sheet somewhere - It is really not that hard - I think a lot of people get put off by the thought of folding them, but it's easy when you know how - Also, you can use nappy nippas and not pins to secure them now ......

Anyway, completely knackered, so off to bed ...........

CaptainDippy · 08/11/2006 21:41

Folding Terries

I'll look up the fold for a boy too .....

CaptainDippy · 08/11/2006 21:43

Ooh thanks for that CD...I'll see what the hubby makes of it!!! And seeing as how you missed out on the earlier competition, take an MN biccie!!!

Saw this on the chat forum and thought I'd nick it for this thread: Who's on your list (i.e. the 5 celebs you can sleep with without DH getting mad! )

Mine are:
Kevin Costner
Josh Hartnett
Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost)
Bryan Adams
Ben from the band The Cooper Temple Clause (but I only want him if he's sweaty!!! )

and DH lets me have Ian Hislop as a freebie (cos I'm only 25 and he finds it so funny that I fancy someone so old! )

weeonion · 08/11/2006 22:25

EllieK · 08/11/2006 22:38

hi all, i'm good but thanks for all your concern x
did it alone before, can do it alone again!
ds has his daddy around for him lots so i still get time to myself (he says to tell you he's amazing, do any of you have single friends you could set him up with?!!!)
and i have an amazing 15 yr old bro only 5 minutes cycle ride away who'll help pretty much whenever i ask, weird i know, a 15yr old boy who is helpful! my mum left when he was only just 3 so he kinda grew up with me taking care of him, consequently he's really protective of me.
x

EllieK · 08/11/2006 22:41

off to sleep on thoughts about my 'list'!
will be back with it tomorrow x

CornflakeKid · 09/11/2006 07:34

I would only get away with Brad Pitt - have already discussed it with dh!

It wasn't the wine that made me woozy - have a head cold - was flat on back in bed by 7pm - 12 hours sleep doesn't seem to have helped tho! Don't want to go to work - want to go to bed...

I will get onto doctors this week re pain- thanks!

liath · 09/11/2006 07:59

Morning!
PMSL at the shaking your ass comment MIAM!

My list of five

  1. Johnny Depp
  2. Johnny Depp
  3. Johnny Depp
  4. Johnny Depp
  5. Johnny Depp Is that allowed?

Have a busy day today and had a really cr*p night's sleep. It'll be another early night I reckon. Can't seem to keep my eyes open past 9pm!

runnyhabbit · 09/11/2006 08:58

My list of 5 is quite boring

In no particular order...

*Charlie Stubbs (don't know his real name)
*Nigel Harman (used to play Dennis Rickman in Eastenders)
*John Barrowman (Capt Jack Harkness in Torchwood)
*Matthew King (Emmerdale)
*The bloke that played Owen in Holby City, and used to be married to Chrissie

Getting a hot flush just thinking about these men, esp as I had a very "interesting" dream about John Barrowman last night

runnyhabbit · 09/11/2006 09:26

CFK - can I order one of those beds with a hole in it please? Lost count the number of times I woke up in the night, just so darn uncomfortable!

Glad you're liking the clothing tips. I was a little worried that I was bombarding you all with websites etc (I have a tendency to tell everyone about a good deal or something nice, sometimes twice, which dh will vouch for!)

Have spoken to the Physio direct people this morning. They were very nice, and they have put me as "urgent", and referred me to specialist physio who deals with this type of pain. She will be in contact with me soon to arrange an appt.

have a nice day everyone

18+2 today
x

charlii13 · 09/11/2006 09:28

Morning All!

Time for me to have an ickle moan. I had the crappest nights sleep last night!!! i'm sure the little dude thought my bladder was an IDEAL trampoline!!!grrrrr.....so feeling suitably like crap this morning!

Sorry bout the little moan there...on the brighter side.......17 weeks 1 day today! Wohoo!!!

geordiemacminx · 09/11/2006 09:29

Ooooh runny habit.. what a list of bad boys!!!

Mark Moraghan is the bloke that played Owen... I definatley agree with you there.. and dp wouldnt mind at all since he is a "red" infact he would probably let me have my night of passion, then go to the match with him!!

weeonion · 09/11/2006 09:33

charlii3 - we must be due date buddies - the 18th april??

off to physio- arghhh

charlii13 · 09/11/2006 09:34

18th of April indeed!!! Cool! :O

charlii13 · 09/11/2006 09:46

ok i wanna ask if i'm being unreasonable......

Do any of you ladies get a LITTLE hormonal/crazy/raving-lunatic when your partner wants to go pub/clubbing? Especially when u try and explain how CRAP the whole experience for you is at the mo with the:
a.lack of energy
b. Not being able to get hammered
c.Not being able to smoke
d.
Not even being able to dance cos now i get a stitch afetr like 10 mins of ass shaking!!

But seriously, inside i feel like i'm being selfish, and he even says that, but really i think i'm being totally reasonable!I have to sacrifice a lot to bring this little angel into our world and sometimes i wish he would sacrifice it all too!But then, i don't wanna rule his life u see?and in a way i don't want him to have to give up everything cos i know how crap it is not being able to do all the aforementioned things on a sat night! Its very confusing.....he has sacrificed a lot, don't get me wrong, if only i could crack the evil monster i turn into when he mentions getting hammered! ;)

Any messages back about this would be helpful x

Bugmum · 09/11/2006 10:00

nuttygirl - Ian Hislop is a friend of a frien Actually, he's apparently a real Puritan - dunno whether that will make him more or less interesting to you

Charlii - You have every right not to go pub/clubbing, and also every right to want some company in your misery. What about a compromise? You'll stay in with the X-Factor (compulsory bawling material round here), and he will sometimes go out, sometimes stay in, but never take the mick by staying out until five making you hormonally worry.

I'm lucky: being one of the oldies on here with an even older DP, we think getting chips and a few beers (not me with the beers now; can't face it) is an exciting night in...

CaptainDippy · 09/11/2006 10:10

ARGH!!

Lost post - Grrrrr! I was only checking PG calculator and I am 16 weeks today - not worth losing the post over!!

Sigh.

Had bad night's sleep last night, had crapola day yesterday, but feeling better and more positive today, which is good! Having lunch with a friend today - child free - yey - then midwife appointment - Can't wait to hear those galloping hooves!!

I typed a reply to you Charlii and I'll try and remember the jist of what I said, but basically it was that DH and I are pair of sad old duffers who would much prefer to curl up on the sofa with a DVD and a Take-Away than go out Pubbing / Clubbing, so I don't have any direct experience of your dilemma, but to him anyway - He can't MAKE you go out, I'd be fuming if I were you, so I would just ignore him if I were you - Bean is most important, not him - So ner!! [hugs]]

Thank you for the yummy biccies nutty - they look delicious - esp the Smiley Faces, so hands off weeonion!!

Right, got to get motivated ......
