It's a fair cop.

  • so in fact your name means "Right" or "reason" - not a fruit - but I see where you're coming from!

(shuffles unsportingly and geekily off thread...)

Bugmum · 08/11/2006 15:02

Damn. I was going to go with Raisin when I changed my mind to Sultana

Greengirlforever · 08/11/2006 15:06

Thanks for the biccie, Nuttygirl and CFK! Needed a sugar fix.

runnyhabbit · 08/11/2006 15:10

Just catching up - all this talk of food is making me feel hungry. Have got and M&S victoria sponge cake in cupboard, which would go lovely with a cup of tea And bonus - can eat in peace because ds is with his nana

Bramshott · 08/11/2006 15:17

There is the last piece of DH's birthday cake downstairs. How much of a bad wife would I be if I ate it???

Thanks for all your comments re the ante-natal classes. Am feeling even more cross now if that's possible, so might take issue with it. To clarify slightly, she did say I could probably attend the ones at the hospital I'm going to, but that's 20 miles away and I don't want to trail up there any more than I already have to. And as one of you (have scrolled down now) said, I want to meet people nearby that I can meet up with later on and moan.

doghouse · 08/11/2006 15:36

Haven't posted for a while as having trouble keeping up!!
1b3 - sorry you have been poorly - I forget sometimes, having twins must be a whole different ball game!
Bramshott - hope you get sorted re. classes as I am sure they are important.
Who else said they are hungry the whole time?! Have had pasta lunch, choc bic and just had a bowl of cereal and already planning my 'tea time' crumpet (thanks to whoever on here put the idea of those in my head the other day! - Have to one every day now!)

Saw neighbour with 3 week old 'Hugo' yesterday. Reminded me what it is all for ... ahh!

Bramshott · 08/11/2006 16:08

"I'm sorry but I'm afraid your baby has eaten all the cake" !!

Ellie K hope you ok.
1b3 Poor you hope you are feeling better now.
Pesha..not surprised you are cross..she sounds pretty horrid.
The woman that scanned me for my first scan totally ignored ds and dp and gave us a not very clear scan pic.If i get her next time she will get a shock as i will exhibit 'scan rage'
This eek I have been mainly blubbing at Friends,Sex and the city[?]and various articles in magazines...very disconcerting.Dp away all week so have been able to blub with great gusto which i have thoroughly enjoyed.
I think i might have spd and will soon be dragging my left leg after me..it can be quite painful.
Welcome newies and hope we are all well today.

geordiemacminx · 08/11/2006 16:14

Hey ladies. Been watching for the past couple of days but been too lazy to contribute anything worth while!!!

Soooooooooo tired at the moment, and fed up with eating junk food!!! Went to asda at lunch time in search of an appertising salad (should have known better) ended up with a cheese and onion pasty from Greggs and a turkish delight. Consequently have indigestion from hell.. not good.

Can anyone recommend a nice maternity type body pillow thing? Having difficulty getting comfy/sleeping at the moment... dp said it was liking sleeping with a transformer last night as I was moving around that much... oh hardy ha ha!!
Had a look on ebay, the have a horseshoe shape one and another one that encorages you to sleep on your left.. not sure which one would be best and at £40 I would prefer to get something that I will use?

Weeonion - if your are about I will be at starbucks on sunday.. should we all wear pink carnations or something?

doobydoo · 08/11/2006 16:17

How about a meetup in Southern Ireland.I don't think that is at all unreasonable.

maveta · 08/11/2006 16:20

I'm having such terrible acid indigestion lately, am drinking camomile tea as it seems to help but it's uncomfortable to the point of painful!

I feel so grumpy these days which is so not like me. Or rather I don't feel grumpy but suddenly snap for the smallest thing.

Why is it that when someone asks you how you are and you say you have, oh let's take a random example, acid indigestion (!), they say - 'oh that's normal'

YES, well it may well be but you asked so I told you, and it doesn't stop it feeling crap. Jeez.

Told you I was grumpy

Bramshott · 08/11/2006 16:21

GMM - I have the £40 full length one from Blooming Marvellous, and it is good. BUT the main reason I have it is that I have a bad leg from a DVT in my last pregnancy, and can't sleep on my side without something under my leg. This one is good for me because I can support my leg as well as my bump (although it has to be on the right because my left leg is the bad one). Last time I got through with just two normal pillows - one in the small of my back (which I will need this time too), and one under the bump. I think you can get some which aren't full length but double up as nursing pillows, which looked quite useful if I didn't have the leg issue (not that I researched this extensively or anything!!).

Been sleeping with a pillow between my knees for a few weeks now as I have a real pain in my right hip.. am worried about SPD.. probabaly just being a hypocondriac (sp) as I'm sure you dont get it at 15 weeks!!
