Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

OP posts:

And wine, so glad you are stopping sooner!!!

I have a painful back and left hip ache, wonder what he is lying on...?

smogsville · 24/03/2015 12:04

daholster don't worry about hormones, I just told a man off in the park for not having his dog on a lead. When he didn't immediately concede I told him he was an appalling human being... I mean he probably is, but really?! And actually I've told my DD off many times including when she was around your DD's age, I think it's important that they know not to push and shove and if they end up having a bit of a cry that's bc they know they've done something wrong and that's no bad thing...

Lauren on the funny dreams we are watching breaking bad ATM (rather behind the curve as usual) so I dreamed about being in a car chase shoot out, that was a relaxing way to wake up with a start!

Good one on the early finish Wine.

Brixton stop bouncing surely that won't help with the wee urgency?!

BrixtonBunny · 24/03/2015 12:10

Smogs what's not helping is probably my drinking Ribena and eating ice lollies!

smogsville · 24/03/2015 12:20

Brixton I am so thirsty now thinking of your drinks and lollies. Been waiting for over half an hour to see mw as they are running late and for once in my life I don't have a bottle of water on me and our surgery is too primitive to have a water cooler Confused

BrixtonBunny · 24/03/2015 12:21

I've just had a look at my maternity notes from my home birth appointment on Sunday, and realised she'd written that baby is 1/5 palpable (so 4/5 engaged). First time mum questions - is it likely baby will stay engaged? Does this mean it's likely that baby will come early?

BrixtonBunny · 24/03/2015 12:22

Smogs that's hideous! Can you ask someone at reception to get you a glass of water?

FiRaffe · 24/03/2015 12:29

Hormones are hitting me today too! Got a card from one of our suppliers at work wishing me good luck and had me quietly blubbing at my desk!
Hope you can get a drink smogs - mine was like that the other day and no drink. Thought they would have something, but probably stupid health and safety

Lauren82000 · 24/03/2015 12:40

Brixton, first timers tend to engage a good few weeks before. It's mainly second timers that it pops in and out as your pelvis is roomier (In theory)

You may very well still have lots of time left, try not to panic.

RL20 · 24/03/2015 12:44

Daholster I head to read back over my comments then! Yes it was a typo ha ha!! It was meant to say 'Bonjela'! I'm usually good at reading things back before I post! Confused

Yes skyra I was at my other half's relatives house at the time and asked if she'd got anything. She offered me bonjela and something else so I read the label but it didn't say whether it was safe to use or not, and believe it said consult the doctor first. So I didn't bother, and bought the Corsodyl spray the next day. It worked really well!

Oh dear Brixton! You should have bought a potty Wink But in all seriousness demand you need to go, if you have to!

Has baby woken up Lauren?

What a lovely sunny day! Last antenatal class today. Will update later!

smogsville · 24/03/2015 12:46

Feel bad for being such a grumbler now, mws were running late but it's not as if it was their fault and they were so nice!

Head is not engaged, woohoo that's a relief, measuring bang on 36 (am 35+6) so he's grown since measuring 32 at 34 wk appt. everything else hunky sort, roll on Thursday's growth scan hopefully will get some idea of likely birth weight.

BrixtonBunny · 24/03/2015 12:50

Lauren that's good news! Wink

AnniaFausta · 24/03/2015 12:51

Cor, just got a real kicking from baby! Along with a load of hiccups. Right down in my hips/pelvis as well. No idea what brought that on. Now feeling massive paranoid about foetal positioning... but have done a spot of antenatal yoga, am sitting on the ball, and honestly, so long as I lean forward a lot, I think everything else is going to have to take its chances. Might take a walk down to the high street to return some library books later too, try and get good old gravity working in my favour.

MoominMama22 · 24/03/2015 12:54

an appalling human being love it smogs!
Talking of appalling humans ,
I was standing outside a shop at the weekend and a family with young children were too, they let the young daughter rip open her Easter egg, drop the carton at her feet, then the foil, didnt bat an eyelid obviously then the 2 kids were trying to interact with the parents but they were too busy swearing at eachother then lighting up and blowing the smoke in my face.
I actually felt like crying.

Waiting for a John lewis delivery and my midwife coming round today. Gloriuuuus day though maybe I should be out in the garden, sorting it out? Uh nah.

Lauren82000 · 24/03/2015 13:03

Oh yes RL baby has woken up, although I'm beginning to think this one might be very long in the bod. I have a bum quite high and I still have the same pressure/full feeling in my pelvis which suggests baby is still at least a bit engaged, right? Confused

All will be revealed on Thursday at my mw appointment. I'm hoping it won't be running late as I have DH and DD in tow. It might be nice for her though as she hasn't been with me since those first very early scans when I was having some bleeding, so she had no idea what she was looking at.

smogsville · 24/03/2015 13:06

BlushBlushBlush Moomin! I hope I don't bump into him again. Might have start wearing contact lenses instead of glasses and change my hair to disguise my identity.

MoominMama22 · 24/03/2015 13:21

Hahaha maybe you went a little OTT its true. I still like your style. I said nothing to these horrors. If I could have seen a bin I would have ostentatiously picked up all their litter in a very "Look how heavily pregnant I am" way, and tell them their own kids wanted to speak to them and not be ignored. But the man looked like he wouldn't be adverse to punching a woman in the face and I'm a wuss.
So I just cried inwardly for humanity.

I hate the general public.

daholster · 24/03/2015 13:21

Loving reading along... Just off for a bra fitting before my work meeting...

But ohhhhh my back.... Its the back ache I get with my periods but it doesn't come and go. Hopefully someone small and ds shaped is finally trying to settle in low?

But seriously, my back!!!

BananaToast · 24/03/2015 13:39

Good luck to those with scans today.

I had mine yesterday and although things were mostly fine and little one seems to be growing well (although on the smaller side - on track for a 7 pounder apparently, which suits me fine!), one of his kidneys was on the border of being enlarged (cut off is 10mm and his was 9.9). The sonographer said it may be nothing to worry about but if it was her baby she'd want it checked out so has made a note for someone to check baby over a couple of days after birth to make sure there isn't an obstruction slowing the flow of urine. He may need antibiotics to prevent infection if urine isn't draining properly. All a bit scary but hopefully will either be nothing or will correct itself without intervention as he gets older. According to something I read yesterday about 80% of confirmed cases sort themselves out in the first year or two of life.

smog and Moomin I feel your pain about the general public! I often think to myself how much I really dislike other people!

36+1

LadyNovember · 24/03/2015 13:39

lol'ing at the despicable humans stories...the smoke thing really grates on me..especially when you walk outside of the hospital and there's tons of people in a cloud of smoke I then have to walk through..Angry

Just cleaned the entire house and now I'm knackered, but I have 40 minutes to shower, make myself look presentable (aka cover this horrendous acne) and pick DH up from work..think I'll chill with Greys Anatomy when we get back!

Glad to hear baby's woken up Lauren, mines being mischievous today and sticking his (hopefully!) bum in my ribs! Grin

obeliaboo · 24/03/2015 13:41

BrixtonBunny and Hidingthefear i have no clothes left at this point, i should be having a melt down haha, im quite content though. I did have horrible morning sickness until 17 weeks but i have nothing to complain about.
I keep getting told off for walking into my local town for shopping haha, and then told off by locals for carrying said shopping. And im desperate to take PIL's dog for a walk but she's a big boxer and has become so overproctective of me to other dogs/strangers - gutted because its lovely out today too.
