calsworld · 23/11/2006 15:58

don't plan to use the COT until much later....oh, I knew what I meant...

DebbsyandBibby · 23/11/2006 16:28

well think this is it just called dh as getting contractions very bad now taking my breath away just lost more discharge shaking from head to foot and pain taking my breath away dh on his way home now.

calsworld · 23/11/2006 16:48

Blimey Debbsy - good luck, hope all goes well for you and look forward to hearing your news!

Love, Cal

Kaybee7777 · 23/11/2006 16:53

Good luck Debbsy, hope it all goes well

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 17:13

Nothing from me I'm afraid, I am still wet down there, and looking at (and smelling - LMAO has anyone been following my other thread? They are a bunch of mad women on there) at it, it isn't wee I am leaking! But contractions are neither here nor there, tight but not painful, and no where near regular. I think the baby has fully engaged though, I can get two flat palms under my boobs before I feel the top of my uterus, and the pressure down below - back and front - is imense, also can't keep my legs together, which is what got me in the bloody position in hte first place!

Debbsy - good luck, I can't wait for the details, at least it looks like one of us is going to be put of our misery today! I wonder whose turn it will be tomorrow, Calsworld maybe you are are feeling the irritability that some people get before labour?!!

saralou100 · 23/11/2006 18:41

ok nj, if i come on here tomorrow and you haven't given birth i'm voting that all of us from due in november drive to your house and force that baby out!! how much more can you take!! ((hugs)) how is your ds today? any better?

debbsy, goodluck!! extremely {envy} though

due date tomorrow, nothing happening here though, no signs or symptoms (no wet pads to sniff) their should be a sulking emoticon!!

watched pirates of the carribean 2 today... very funny film, took my mind of things for a while (jonny depp is fabulous) and highlight of the day a trip round tesco's!

off to twiddle my thumbs and wait for baby to turn up! xx

podglet · 23/11/2006 18:49

Woo hoo Debbsey - can't wait to hear the news

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 18:49

LMAO Sara You and anyone else who wants to is more than welcome to come get this baby to shift, honestly I really don't mind at all! I got DH to have a sniff when he got home, LOL poor bloke! He said he could smell a bit of wee, (but I had just been for a wee), but he said he could smell mostly something else, again he wouldn't have said sweet though, so no idea what it is still, but contractions/tightenings/period pain/pressure front and back/back ache are all still fighting each other at the moment, and I can't stand up straight without everything hurting.

DS had perked up again this afternoon, still led on the sofa and obviously not well but seemed a bit brighter, now he is back to how he was this morning, I suppose it is always the same though, come night time you always feel worse don't you?

saralou100 · 23/11/2006 18:59

just seen a flaw in my plan... i can't fit behind the steering wheel!! your poor dh being forced to sniff your pad, i don't think i could ask dp to do that, i also don't think he would agree to it!! brave man i'm sure you will regain all dignity once you've given birth and blank these last few weeks from your memory!!

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 19:01

Well, I just touched the pad and then let him sniff my fingers, not sure it is any more dignified though!! LOL

I think a name change will be needed aftr this baby is born, the things I have writen on here in the last few weeks, I will never be able to face anyone!!

saralou100 · 23/11/2006 19:07

firstly, thats so gross... and just thank god it's cyber world... had a peak at your other thread earlier, they are nuts, but keeping your spirits up!!

right, off to cook something spicy for dinner (again) hopefully nj, we shall not be speaking tomorrow!!!

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 23/11/2006 19:12

Hi all

Blimey - what a paliva - if you put all our days on stage they would accuse of making it all up! Good luck NJ, and Debbsy, hope it gets better soon Cal. My day has been a little bland in comparison - I think Cat is ill - he didn't finish his dinner - which is very odd for him and has spent most of the day curled up like a kitten in a cardboard box (I put a towel in it to make it a little more comfortable - he seems to appreciate it). God alone knows what he was covered in this morning, but it's obviously not done him any favours. DP is working late - still it gives me a chance to play on the computer. I managed to do something creative today (a bit of work on a painting I've been asked to do), but nothing else to report - baby got it's kicks by 4 so nothing to worry about there - argos finally delivered the bookcase at 3pm - trouble is, it looks like it'll have to stay in the middle of the living room though as DP is not likely to want to put it up when he gets in.

By the way Saralou, apparently watching comedy and having a good belly laugh can help bring on labour as well (not sure where I heard it ) Wish DP would set up the DVD player properly - another little job that has been forgotten from when we moved (don't even get me started on the spare fridge taking up space in the kitchen - unplugged and ... well you can imagine the rest - I dare not go near it)

Enjoy your evening ladies
Good luck and keep happy! LA

harrogatemum · 23/11/2006 19:53

If I dont go into labour from laughing about NJ's husband being forced to "sniff the pad" (I know he didnt really but let me have artistic licence), then I dont think this baby will ever be born!

you have made my day NJ!

DH just gone out for curry, had a few pains this evening, but more discomfort than anything else. Due date tomorrow!

DebbsyandBibby · 23/11/2006 20:05

cntractions died down a little but a quick question about waters dh has just asked me i have had 4 wees in half an hour never even considered it could be my waters do you think it could be?

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 20:07

LOLOL People are flocking to see the woman who shoves pads in her DH's face to have a sniff of

It is a good job he loves me isn't it?!!!

Good luck HM, I hope the discomfort turns into something.

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 20:09

LMAO Debbsy, put a pad on and sniff it,

Sorry, couldn't resisit!

It could be that the baby has fully engaged and so is putting more pressure on your bladder, I am no expert, but I don't think you have the same sort of control over your waters as you do when you have a wee.

DebbsyandBibby · 23/11/2006 20:15

y sniff it?

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 20:18

LMAO, sorry, I wasn't meaning to confuse you, just something that has been running on another thread today!

How are you feeling? I know how shitty it is when things look like they are starting just for them to stop. Have you tried sitting on the birth ball, walking up and down the stairs, cleaning like mad??? Sex?? See if any of it gets things moving again?

DebbsyandBibby · 23/11/2006 20:50

they havent disappeared completely still getting them just not as often still feel sick and v shaky they do take your breath away dont they?

calsworld · 23/11/2006 20:52

Debbsy - NJ is suggesting to sniff to check its not wee - if it is your waters it is supposed to smell slightly sweet - at least that's what my madwife said when i phoned her about mine yesterday. She asked me to phone triage if it carried on....it did for a while and so called....they said to stick a big pad in and forget about it, if it filled up, it was my waters, but if not, just heavy vaginal discharge.

mine must have been the latter

hope that helps,
Cal

DebbsyandBibby · 23/11/2006 20:59

thank you cal

calsworld · 23/11/2006 21:01

Also, NJ is on another thread at the moment and one of the lovely ladies on there posted a link to contraction timer which is brilliant for keeping an eye on things for you - and another great excuse for having the computer up and running, for contraction timing and mumsnetting!

DH has gone out on a works do so am still sat at home alone. Dog is feeling v sorry for herself after being bathed by DH before going out. She hates baths revenge is sweet!

Am just trying to work out if I'm hungry or not, seem to have been a bit off my food for the last couple of days but v v thirsty....

Maybe another pint of raspberry milkshake will help me decide...and a chocolate chip brioche...

Oh - and do you think we ought to start another thread for us final hangers on - i've got broadband and even i'm beginning to struggle with this one!! But i have no clue how to start one...someone....anyone?

Mummy2Toby · 23/11/2006 21:34

Evening all NJ - your posts have really made me laugh, I am afraid I can't help on the subject of waters breaking - in both of my pgs my waters went with a "pop" so there was no denying what it was - congrats to those who have had your babies - come and join us on the post-natal thread (it's much quiter over there as none of us get the time to post )
Anyway - take care and hope that things start to happen for you all soon.

saralou100 · 23/11/2006 21:45

shall i start a thread with the title 'stick on a pad and get dp to sniff it' lol

NatalieJane · 23/11/2006 21:51

I have just done the weekly shop, I am loving Tesco on line

Sorry Debbsy, I should have explained better, is there any more progress?

And Cal, thanks for putting that link across to here, it didn't even cross my mind to do that!!
