Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kaybee7777 · 20/11/2006 13:53

Hi Bethbe, I have been a bit like that too. I think at our antenatal class they said to call the hospital if your hind waters go (and they would go in a huge gush, not a trickle) but fore waters are okay... but not 100% sure

Kaybee7777 · 20/11/2006 13:58

Actually I just read this so not sure now

Kif · 20/11/2006 14:08

Bethbe - call the hospital for sure.

Waters also serve to keep bub comfy and hydrated. You won't know how much you've lost through your slow leak - get it checked.

NatalieJane · 20/11/2006 14:55

Bethbe, if you haven't already, go to the labour ward, they will do a simple quick swob to check if it is your waters, if it isn't they won't keep you in for no reason, if it is, well, with out wanting to worry you, you won't leave the hospital with out your LO in your arms! I am having a home birth, and there are reasons why if my waters go and the baby isn't out within 24 hours I will have to go to hospital, if you are leaking your waters, for 48 hours, I would say the best place for you to be is hospital. I think the guidelines are that they will let you go up to 96 hours after the waters go (in hospital), but after that they would be looking at inducing. Good luck

DebbsyandBibby · 20/11/2006 17:00

have you gone Bethbe?

Bethbe · 20/11/2006 18:03

Can't get to the labour ward without DH, but called them and they told me to wear a pad for an hour or so and ring again to give details. Seems to have stopped for the moment so am confused, but will call them shortly.

Thanks for your help though! Sofa co. phoned to say will deliver between 8am - 11am, so wanna hold out at least til then. If we're not in when they come, they won't deliver again until after Xmas apparently!

amyjade · 20/11/2006 19:03

Hi Everyone.

Just a quick post to let you all know that i have a baby boy !!!!

Fraser James was born on Friday 17th November by elective caesarean weighing a healthy 9lb 1oz

Still can't believe i have a son!

He is absolutely beautiful and a spitting image of his big sister Freya.

Charleesunnysunsun · 20/11/2006 19:17

He's being a right grump today i think he has a bit of tummy ache from not bringing up his wind!

It's funny i keep panicking about not feeling him kick when i haven't atually been pregnant for nearly 2 weeks, i catch myself feeling my stomach thinking 'why isn't he moving?' God im a twat!

Congratulations amyjade and Hattie

Anyway was just really popping in to say hello and send you some labour vibes!

harrogatemum · 20/11/2006 19:23

I would update the babies born bit but it will just depress me as I am sure there must only be a few of us left...sob....I am due on Friday but still no signs other than a few pins and needles on the top of the bump. No show, no contractions, no waters breaking.

harrogatemum · 20/11/2006 19:24

flowers1 · 20/11/2006 20:04

Hello, I haven't posted much at all on this thread although I have lurked and followed everyone's progress.

I had a baby girl, Jessica Joyce, born on 16/11/06, forceps delivery, a bit traumatic, but both of us ok.

Congratulations to everyone who's had their baby, and best wishes to those still waiting - it's all worth it. I hope to be able to join more in the post natal clubs, internet access permitting.

DebbsyandBibby · 20/11/2006 21:21

congratulations Flower on your baby girl wishing you well tc

NatalieJane · 20/11/2006 22:58

Congrats to Amyjade and Flowers
Bethbe, any news?

God, what a shitty day it has been, DS has been really poorly, so I have had him off school, which caused arguments from him this morning because he wanted to go to school (even though he couldn't even eat his breakfast for coughing so much, and he had a raging temp, and about 4 hours sleep over night!) so I managed to get him to lay on the sofa with the poorly blanket and he has just dozed on and off all day.

I lost a load of my show this morning, and have been having contractions since (surprise surprise) but nothing else.

Poor DH had a load of crap at work to deal with with stupid bloody customers that think he can actually perfrom miracles.

I think we are all just getting really fed up now. All of the stop/starts/stop/starts, it has not only affected me, it has literally turned our lives upside down for the last 5 and a half weeks and knowing we could still have another 3 and half weeks of it, doesn't do much to help keep us all calm!

saralou100 · 21/11/2006 08:43

congratulations to amyjade and flowers!!! i'll update the stats in a minute

harrogatemum, feeling your sobs.. i'm due fri too and nothing!!! just constant spd pain at the moment. although baby may have moved down some more, i peed (literally) every 2 minutes last night! aaarrrggghhh

nj, hope your little boys better today!!

bethbe, hope you get your sofa today. is their anyone who can wait in for you if you have to go out? hope it's not your waters until after the sofa's been delivered!!

one of our friends who live round the corner has one of those huge trampolines in their back garden.. we're going round to play today, see if i can bounce this baby out of me!!

DebbsyandBibby · 21/11/2006 09:58

how is he today nj ?

NatalieJane · 21/11/2006 10:26

DS is still really poorly, now complaining of ear ache, back ache, and head ache on top of this cold and cough he already had, but his temp has been settled enough for me not to worry too much by the calpol, I think he has the proper 'flu (I say proper 'flu, because I know some people call a common cold 'flu, but there is a big difference between the two really!) If he is still as bad tomorrow I will take him to the doctors, but I think for now the best thing is for him just to do as he is now - sleep it off!

I am waiting for DH to get home so I can go to the midwives, he shuffled his day around a bit, so he should make it back just in time for me to go (obviously he is staying in with DS) so I might get this bloody sweep afterall, and if the midwife even tries to put it off till next week, I am likely to end up having this baby in prison while serving a sentence for murder!!

How is everyone else, it has been fairly quiet on here recently, too bloody busy having babies, Anyone would think this is an ante-natel thread or something....

Kaybee7777 · 21/11/2006 10:28

Morning everyone,
hope your ds is feeling better today NJ. How are you doing?

It's very quiet on here, there must be lots of people off having babies, when is it our turn!!

saralou100 · 21/11/2006 10:45

i had a dream last night that i had a baby boy... but i was left with the big pregnant belly!! then i was going out, but without any children and everyone kept asking if i'd had baby yet and i kept telling them yes, but i didn't know where it was! no-one believed me cause i still had this belly on me!! strange!!

nj- i wanna say goodluck for the madwife appointment, but i think it's the madwife who needs the luck!! go get her!!

FoghornLeghorn · 21/11/2006 10:51

Congratulations to Amyjade and Flowers - wonderful news

Well today is my due date and am also having the same concerns about my waters. Thought something wasn't quite right Sunday evening but decided to justwait and see and then the same last night, noticed a wet patch and kept an eye on it, kept going to the loo to dry myself so I could monitor it and Idefinitely kept getting wet throughout the night. Considering this is what happened with DD, I am being pretty crap this time !
Am off for my sweep at midwife at 12.15 so am hoping she will tell me if its my waters leaking or if I just can't control myself anymore .

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 21/11/2006 11:02

Hi all
Re: waters breaking - I keep having nightmares that I won't be able to tell and baby will just turn up unexpectedly (as it's my first I am keen to get to the hospital in time and everything to hand). Was rather wet last night, but think it was because of a sudden surge of sweat - it was literally pouring out of me. I had to get up and wash myself down as it felt so uncomfortable - will have to change the sheets as well. I did the towel test just to see - nothing to report. My bump is hurting a bit - and is huge. I also covered myself in boiling water yesterday when the pan slid off the hob(not sure why) - luckily I knew, to get some cold water on me asap and got into a lukewarm shower and as I had two layers of clothing over bump it didn't suffer as much as my foot. I sort of hoped that the shock would kick start something, but baby still seems quite content to stay put. It is my late grandmothers birthday tomorrow - often babies in our family turn up on days like that - so you never know I might be lucky - however according to Russell Grant on the radio yesterday - Saggitarius are supposed to have a brilliant year next year - so if it hangs on until Thursday/Friday - it should do well. I'm concerned that it is getting too big now - see the consultant tomorrow, I'll see what she says. Sorry for going on so long.

Good luck all

LA

DebbsyandBibby · 21/11/2006 11:27

nj hope ds feels better soon and you get your sweep good luck
foghorn good luck to you too
ladyann hope you and bump are ok sounds painful.

Kaybee7777 · 21/11/2006 11:39

NJ sorry to hear ds is still sick. Good luck getting the sweep.

I am supposed to be having one tomorrow, when i will be 40+3. If it works how long does it take??? I don't really know much about them. I just want my lo to be born before my Dad goes back to NZ on Saturday
