Same here, can't quite believe that nobody has checked I'm actually pregnant! Two days and counting til the scan. Can't wait to see what's going on in there.

Secretly bought a few things in the jojo maman maternity sale (DH and i agreed not to do anything baby related until after the scan) had to own up when he was the one who took the giant parcel from the postman! He was lovely about it though and now I have some pretty clothes to grow into. :-)

EssexWelsh · 18/03/2015 22:41

Inspired by someone on Facebook group who used at home doppler at 11+5 and found heartbeat, I just sent DH up the attic to find ours from last time and instantly found heartbeat! I'm 11+4, feel absolutely amazing as just had this niggly feeling something wrong but feeling far more positive about scan next Thurs now! I know you have to be careful not to scare yourself if can't find heartbeat but with this in mind I'd def invest in one, loved it last time just for occasional drop ins to hear baby, although mine was a hand me down from friend so no idea how much they are??

Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 08:30

Essex, just make sure it WAS the heart and not the placenta! When I kept finding mine straightaway in the same place all the time I found it amazing baby wasn't moving around. My mum (retired MW) told me that was my placenta Grin and found the HB for me after moving it around a bit. Felt such a numpty!

Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 08:38

Forgot to say, mine is an angel sounds one, think was about £20.

Also, is anyone using MN mobile site on iPhone, start writing a post and it locks up??? EVERY bloody time and it's driving me mad!! Am having to write in my notes and copy and paste! Bloody hate apple !!

EssexWelsh · 19/03/2015 12:44

No was def heartbeat as checked what mine sounded like first then found the whooshing slower placenta then found heartbeat, a fast galloping sound. Then coincidentally this morning my bump popped, much higher than expected, took pic to prove to myself later as have been checking daily and nothing til today, think maybe helped had full bladder, I'm 12 weeks on Saturday and is second baby so def know how it feels, finally feel like it's all happening! How's everyone else today?

Ladypug · 19/03/2015 12:55

Hi all,

Just caught up on the thread, haven't been in for a week and a lot happens. All ok here, still feel rough. Scan date has come through, not till April! Everyone else seems to be having theirs :-( Nevermind!

Waking up in the night feeling seriously sick and have to eat seeds so I can feel normal-ish again and go back to sleep. I have a stash of seeds by the bed! Hello and welcome to all the newcomers!

X

Adventuregame · 19/03/2015 13:01

Ladypug my scan isn't til April either when i'll be 12 weeks. My due date is Oct 13th.
I'm back to freaking out again today - Not sure if I want this change ???

Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 13:11

Awww that's lovely Essex :) I didn't feel ds pop out, I didn't have anything until after 20+ weeks! Not in a rush for a bump this time either lol!

Sorry you're feeling rough lady. I must admit I'm fine in the day and it's at night I start feeling nauseous, but once I'm lying down and asleep it doesn't bother me too much.
April seems ages away but it'll be here before you know it x

Ladypug · 19/03/2015 13:18

I think we all have moments like that Adventure I'm just telling myself it's a rough ride. Only 7 months to go and it will be worth it in the end. I've had a few freak out moments though but I think that's fairly normal.

It's defo worse at night choccy I hate night time! I have never wished time away like I am currently x

MrsEvansAlmost · 19/03/2015 13:20

hello all!! just popping into catch up, it's been very quiet for me so have had nothing to report.

my phone does want to keep changing choccywokky to cheeky wookie! which makes me laugh! choccy I have the same Doppler and was impressed I found the HB! checked mine first just in case I was dead you know logical pregnant lady thoughts! dp listened to and welled up a bit :)

scan is Monday hit the 12 week mark today so breathing a huge sigh of relief.

hoping all you ladies are well and beans are growing nicely ready to for scan days Smile Smile Grin Grin

gaggiagirl · 19/03/2015 14:24

11wks today here! I finally get booked in by the midwife tomorrow! Woop woop!

Adventuregame · 19/03/2015 14:52

Just spoke to DP on my lunch break and calmed down a bit. When I'm at home and we're talking about it together I'm fine with it/almost excited but as soon as I'm at work or just left to my own thoughts I panic and want out !!! I'm a nightmare !! I'm thinking I'll feel differently after 12 week scan ? Only 12 days to go til then and DP away for 10 of them - keep me sane ladies !!!!

scatterbrainedlass · 19/03/2015 15:12

I'm still waiting for scan date, was told it could take 3 weeks to come through. That's still nearly a whole 2 weeks to wait!! Got all my booking in and bloods to be done at the same time, will be a looooong appt.

Teapig · 19/03/2015 15:21

It's so great to hear all the positive scan news and the heart beats being found.

I've got my 12 week scan on 31st March when I'll be 12+2, I can't wait. I'm looking so pregnant I won't be able to keep it a secret much longer. I've invested in some very floaty tops to help me hide it at work but soon I'll have to bite the bullet and get some maternity clothes.

We're here for you adventure, time goes soooo slowly when you're waiting for a scan.

I remember being so nervous up to my 12-week scan and then it felt like ages to the next one. Maybe I need to invest in a doppler.

kezod · 19/03/2015 15:42

Hello ladies
Thought I would drop in again as so much as happened over the last week!
Due to the unpredictable nature of my job, as soon as you declare your pregnant they remove you to a cushy boring desk job doing something seriously mundane for the duration of your pregnancy.
I asked a few colleagues in confidence when they declared they were pregnant and was shocked that most people had done it around the 5-6 week mark (I had been planning to go to the 12 weeks after my scan). So I bit the bullet, informed work and now EVERYBODY knows! I'm only 9 weeks, and secretly terrified that its stopped growing/somethings wrong, so I feel totally gutted that the decision to tell people when I'm ready has been taken out of my hands.
Due to most of my work now knowing my hubby feels it is only fair for our friends to find out from us, so we've started telling them too (incase they found out through other channels first).
MW refused to organise early scan (stated they're linked to early miscarriage!?), just had my date through in the post for 12+5 so I'm nearly 4 weeks off some reassurance!
Feeling frustrated! Glad I can vent on here, sorry ladies x

Lifeunexpected · 19/03/2015 17:33

All is good. Scan went very well and baby is absolutely fine. We could see his/her little heart beating away! I'm actually 11 weeks 2 days, which makes more sense. Can't wait to tell the family over the weekend!! Smile

October baby bus take 3- booking in appointments and scans, here we come!
Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 19:25

Kezod what a load of shit, sack your midwife!!! If they were linked to early mc they wouldn't risk scanning you!! I've had 8, and do you really think this trial Im on would scan me every fortnight from 6 weeks if there was that much of a risk?? Course they wouldn't. What a complete twat, sorry!
Sorry that you feel pressured to now tell people too.

Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 19:27

Beautiful scan pic life!!

Choccywoccydodah · 19/03/2015 19:30

Kezod get her to read this

gaggiagirl · 19/03/2015 20:05

life gorgeous! How many weeks were you by lmp pre scan?

Toast85 · 19/03/2015 21:32

Kezod i'm intrigued as to what exciting job you have if you've had to totally change to a desk job! I have to make quite a few changes and have had to tell a few people due to this but generally can carry on as usual most of the time.

Just popping in.

Lovely to hear so much good scan news!

I need a virtual kick up the arse, its baby #3 here, I have no scan date because I'm not booked with the midwife, or indeed with a GP where we now live and have absolutely no idea of my due date but was told 'at least 6 weeks' on feb 24th on an early scan, I'm going to try and register with a gp after my night shift ends at 0900.

I haven't put any weight on but do have a very definite little bump (bloat) made all the more noticable by my ID badge resting on it at work Grin it's very firm but this is my third pregnancy in four years so I guess thats to be expected!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ca55andraMortmain · 20/03/2015 15:40

Hello everyone! I've been away on school camp all week so just catching up now! Thankfully sickness is definitely on its way out and didn't cause too much bother while I was away. Congrats to everyone with good scan news - life your picture is fab! It looks like a proper baby!
