Stinkers and Toast, sorry to hear you've had insomnia too. I've been having the oddest dreams, the ones the other night were horrible ones but I've had some funny ones too!

Toast, I hope you feel better soon. I've gone and got a stupid cold sore since my insomnia night (haven't had one for ages!) so I don't feel like I'm blooming either! I know what you mean about so much choice out there. I'm feeling the same but think I'm going to leave it until after 20 weeks too.

My sister currently has my mum's cot (guess we were all in it too once upon a time) so I think we are going to use that which should do up until about 6-7months. Think I'll get a new mattress though. I imagine baby will then go in a cot of it's own in it's own room.

I'm planning on breastfeeding too but a couple of my friends have given me a top tip of expressing one feed from about 2-3 weeks old so that they will then take a bottle if needed. It can still be breast milk but means DH can do a feed too.

Ca55andraMortmain, I have joined a pre-natal pilates class which is brilliant and I would highly recommend doing. There are 2 girls in my class who are 32 & 37 weeks who have been doing it the whole way through and they look in really good shape. I am trying to go for the occasional run but I've only managed 4 so far the whole of my pregnancy, not such a great track record in 15 weeks! DH & I also do a dance class once a week which can be quite energetic so I feel I'm doing an ok amount. Nothing like what I used to and I can definitely see those 1st trimester munchies have had their effect!!

It has dawned on me in the last few days that I am going to need a bigger car when baby arrives. I have a small hatchback at the moment and we already have 2 children and it will be a squeeze fitting in myself, DH, 2 big DC and a baby in a car seat (plus baby paraphanelia).
I went and looked at some cars today and the order time on most cars is around 12 weeks, so I will have to decide and order within the next 6 weeks to get one in time. Is anybody else needing to make big purchases such as a car or bigger house to accommodate their babbas?

gingerbreadmam · 13/05/2015 16:42

ooh well thats a good excuse to get a new car! good luck with the car shopping.

we need to move. luckily we rent so its not a massive purchase as such but it is a big increase in rent to get a 2 bed especially one that i feel happy with and were limited money wise too as my dp gets finished from his job in july then re-employed in september and until september comes we wont know what doing, what hours or what pay Sad

Superexcited · 13/05/2015 16:48

Oh gibgerbread the not knowing must be awful. I imagine you just want to get on, find a house and move knowing what your financial situation will be. I hope you find something suitable to move into with plenty of time before the baby arrives and before you feel too big to manage the move.

gingerbreadmam · 13/05/2015 17:09

we ideally need to do it june as dp doesnt get paid august and only minimal wage july and doubt ill feel like it in september so keeping everything crossed something comes up.

saw a promising place yesterday on rightmove but over budget. contacted ll anyway to see if would negotiate and we had a good twenty min convo did my best to sell us as tennants and explain why we couldnt go the full hog. he seemed keen so im keeping everything crossed he gets back to us with good news.

been checking it out on rightmove all day only thing is we just ordered a new sofa and its brown and living room carpet is grey Confused

batfish · 13/05/2015 17:38

super I need to get a new car too, I bought a 3 door yellow mini cooper 's last summer which I absolutely love but I can hardly even fit a full grocery shop in it let alone a buggy and baby! Gutted!

Superexcited · 13/05/2015 18:22

I love my car too batfish. I got it last year and waited 16 weeks to get the colour and spec I wanted and I am going to be sad to see it go, but if just won't be practical come October. I'm not happy about getting a big ugly bus mpv and paying extra for the privilege but I'm sure I will get used to it.

SparklesandBubbles · 13/05/2015 18:35

We are going to make do with our car as I think it will be big enough. We also need to move ideally. Currently in a flat and even though we do have a spare bedroom it is full of DHs stuff from when he sold his place! Would love to be in a place with a garden but I'm not sure we've got time unless we find something v soon and have a smooth sale. I'd really like to be settled somewhere but realistically don't think it's going to happen in time.

batfish · 13/05/2015 18:45

I'm going to look at the 5 door mini as the boot is a bit bigger but I doubt it is going to be enough space unfortunately - no point getting another new car which is still going to be a bit of a struggle Sad

Ladypug · 13/05/2015 18:48

We had a small car and knew we would have to buy a new one if we got pregnant but luckily (unluckily at the time) I had a car accident and needed to buy one last year so at least we got that out of the way and now have a good family car. The problem with our house is we have no dining space and I refuse to not sit down as a family for our first Christmas so we're now looking at house improvements to have a dining room in time!

crazypuglady · 13/05/2015 22:03

I bought a new car thinking the boot would be big enough. I'm just lucky the pram ive chosen fits, it's one of the smallest on the market and one of the only ones that fits in my teeny weeny boot. Didn't want to have to swap it.

Superexcited · 13/05/2015 22:38

crazypug it's amazing how much boot space even the smallest prams take up. I bought my pram because the chassis is one of the smallest folding ones and it does fit into my boot pretty easily but j just won't have enough space for the family to all fit comfortably. Luckily we have plenty of space in the house so that's one less major expense to worry about.

Stinkersmum · 14/05/2015 06:21

I've got a 2 door 4 seater convertible. Oops.

crazypuglady · 14/05/2015 14:08

I used to have a two-seater convertible stinkers. It did have back seats but it was so small they were pointless. You couldn't get an adult in, I could barely get the dog in! I started having trouble with it last October so swapped for my cute little hatchback. Everyone assumed it was because I was pregnant. Bit annoying when people kept asking and didn't realise we were trying but with no luck so far. It didn't take long, only a few months, but it was amazing how sensitive I got about it when it didn't happen straight away.

Luckily I can get DH, I, baby and dog in my little car super. If we do decide to have another I'll need to to upsize though Sad

Stinkersmum · 14/05/2015 14:11

crazy mines a Saab so not tiny. I think it'll be ok. Don't want to sell it, I love my car, DH only bought it for me a month ago.

AnnaBegins · 14/05/2015 18:02

Scan today! All went well, have put a pic on the fb group :) good luck to all those with scans coming up.

Ladypug · 14/05/2015 19:01

Is it just me or is anyone else pretty much showing overnight? I seem to have gone from small bump to suddenly noticeable bump! Someone at work today walked past me open mouthed staring at my stomach!!!

Superexcited · 14/05/2015 19:16

ladypug my bump has been noticeable to me for quite a few weeks and my clothes have been too tight for a while forcing me into maternity clothes several weeks ago but over the last week my bump is definitely more noticeable. If anybody looked at me now they would instantly think I was pregnant. I am finding myself going about with my coat fastened or wearing loose fit tops to avoid questions from strangers or people I don't want to discuss my pregnancy with.
I think by next week even the loosest of tops will not be any good at concealing my bump.
It is nice to see my bump growing, I just don't want to share it with the world just yet.

gingerbreadmam · 14/05/2015 19:49

congrats anna did you find out the sex?

my bump is scarily massive but as i was overweight i think its only the last week people are looking at me in the corridoor and its blatantly obvious im pregnant.

i love looking down when im nekked and seeing the little line where the bump starts Blush

Superexcited · 14/05/2015 20:11

Argos have a baby event on, lots of things reduced in price.

crazypuglady · 14/05/2015 20:18

My bump seems to have really come out in the last week or so. In my work wear (which is quite formal office so fitted) I really look pregnant, even a customer asked me on Tuesday. My casual clothes are generally looser though so even my own aunty didn't notice today until I pulled my top tight (first time I've seen her since we found out).

gingerbreadmam · 14/05/2015 22:04

ive had a look on argos im a bit sceptical about the sale.

ive compiled a list of things i need and like. on it i picked a moses basket in argos which im sure was 60 / 70. just before this even started i was having another nosey and it was on for 100! it is now in the sale as 50 something or 60. annoyed me tbh.

Cineraria · 15/05/2015 00:43

AnnaBegins, sorry, I have only just seen your post about being at the NEC too this weekend. We were planning to go on the Sunday but have both gone down with chest infections, so I think we won't be going now. Hope we'll see a picture of your cot quilt when it's done.

We had our scan too this week. All seems to be ok, thank goodness. The baby kept hiding whatever the sonographer was looking at right under my belly button and I am so ticklish there I spent most of it with my eyes closed and fists clenched from trying to keep still. It's a boy, so he gets my name choice (DH had picked a girl's name so I said it's only fair if I get to pick the name for a boy)! We still need to agree a middle name though.

We need to get on with choosing what we're going to buy for him to sleep and travel in too. We love the BabyBay but our bedroom is dark wood and I think the dark one is only available to order from Germany, and quite expensive, so I'm not sure yet... Hooray! I just googled it to get the link to post here and found the larger sized one on Amazon reduced significantly so bought it straight away. Our first baby item! I got the side bar too as it's also reduced, so it can be a stand alone cot if we want to use it apart from our bed.

Stinkersmum · 15/05/2015 18:56

OK, went pushchair perusing today. I think we've settled on the Mamas & Papas Urbo2. It lies flat, so no need for the carry cot. Cybex Aton car seat. If DHs new car has isofix, we'll get the isofix base too. Plus parasol, it all comes in at about £800 Shock. Will check out prices in the UK in summer though - despite being a tax free country, KSA is notoriously overpriced in some things. Oddly, I cannot find any prices online. Confused

AnnaBegins · 15/05/2015 19:11

ginger nope still team yellow Smile

Aww Cineraria poor you! get well soon! Glad the scan was good!
