I love the Venicci one Gingerbreadmam, am going to go for the Grey Denim Travel System and it comes in at £499. I read really good reviews on it too. Smile

Well that's when i know everything is still ok, scan not till Friday. Had one at 9 weeks + 5, but still can't help but worry a little tiny bit.
Does anyone else feel they can't imagine having a bump? Or is that just me, i can't help feel my tiny bump is just fat from all the eating i've done Blush Grin. Sometimes still feel like it's too good to be true.

gingerbreadmam · 20/04/2015 14:57

i love the denim grey one and its probably the one ill go for too unless i go for all black. will decide once i know the sex. if you look on their actual website they have some on offer even cheaper.

im sure everything will be fine. i had an early scan at 9 weeks following a scare where the midwife told me once you have seen a healthy baby at that point it is unlikely to change.

im overweight anyway but my tummy is starting higher up now and in maternity clothes looks like a nice round bump. be a while until it is a proper bump though i think. im 14+3 roundabouts.

NonnyBunny · 20/04/2015 20:08

Hello, glad to hear everyone is getting on well, and nice to see the lovely scan pics. I really haven't got as far as thinking about prams, cots etc... am totally clueless about all of that stuff! I think maybe after 20 weeks - am nearly 16 weeks now - I'll start doing research but it still doesn't feel real yet. I wish I had a bump like some of you guys. Sometimes I think I do but I think it's mainly just a combination of overeating and wishful thinking!

I have my first scan tomorrow since I tested negative for the 3 trisomies on the Harmony test after an increased nuchal on my 12 week scan. I have no reason to expect anything to be wrong now, and I heard a nice strong heartbeat on the Doppler last week... But I am SO nervous about it. Please all keep your fingers crossed for me that this scan will be uneventful!

Toast85 · 20/04/2015 20:10

I look pregnant in maternity jeans and just a bit fat round the belly in normal jeans (the one pair that still fits that is).

I think we're not going to get a Moses basket because it won't last more than a few months, but will get a crib or cot (or a snuzpod/bednest/chicco next-to-me if we can afford it) - something that should last 6 months until we put baby in a cot-bed in his/her own room.

We plan to get a travel system with a proper carrycot so if needs be we will use that downstairs during the day.

gingerbreadmam · 20/04/2015 20:34

yeah toast i have similar thoughts to you just cant get my head round baby sleeping in a carrycot, says it all in the name really.

this is probably very silly but as this is pfb i just fancy a nice cure moses basket. i envisage lots of visitors and just picture how lovely baby will look in a gorgeous fancy moses basket. probably a huuggee waste of money but i'll probably end up with one anyway Blush

Ca55andraMortmain · 20/04/2015 21:17

fab I am so glad that someone else is experiencing downy face... I dont usually have any hair around my jawline or anything but all of a sudden there's tonnes of it! I feel really self conscious about it, especially since, as a teacher, it's only a matter of time before one of the children comments on it!

Wow, everyone is so organised buying prams and cots already! I've barely thought about any of that stuff yet, baby still doesn't feel very real. It mostly feels like we're playing mummies and daddies with an imaginary baby!

Fabuluce · 20/04/2015 21:29

Thank god Ca55 I was beginning to think it was just me with the downy face! Apparently it's a Thing but I'm not like it one bit!

The only thing I've bought so far is a new bra and I guess soon I'll have to get some new clothes - am feeling a little slack with all this buying going on! Oops!

Ca55andraMortmain · 20/04/2015 21:43

I know, I'm not a fan either! Are you going to try to remove it? I'm scared to in case it comes back dark and I have a proper beard Shock

I really need new clothes as well but I'm a weird shape and it's taken me ages to learn how to dress in clothes that suit me, I'm not looking forward to having to work out how to dress a bump! Although I am looking forward to wearing comfy clothes!

Superexcited · 20/04/2015 22:29

I haven't bought any baby stuff yet but I have bought myself some bras and leggings that fit comfortably. My mum has bought me a big basket of baby stuff - baby toiletries, nappies, babygros, blankets, but I haven't got to the point where I feel ready to go out and buy stuff yet.

Stinkersmum · 20/04/2015 22:34

I've only bought clothes and bras for me. I've done a bit of research around prams, cots etc but I'll be buying nothing baby related til way after the 20 week scan. I can't fully relax until I know that's all clear.

Ladypug · 20/04/2015 22:54

Are any of you guys suffering from really bad heartburn? Gaviscon doesn't really touch it!

crazypuglady · 21/04/2015 10:21

I did around week 8 ladypug but it went off of its own accord by week 9.

If it's really bad speak to the midwife. They might be able to recommend something stronger.

flipflump · 21/04/2015 14:58

Gingerbread, my first slept downstairs in the pram or my arms, mostly the latter. I have no regrets, he's an amazing sleeper and I won't get a chance to do that this time round. We have a Moses but never brought it downstairs. Also, your visitors will be desperate to hold the baby rather than look at it in a Moses basket. Occasionally he'd sleep in his Moses during the day and I'd lie next to him reading my book, again, won't get the chance to do that this time. He outgrew his Moses at 3 or 4 months, he was in the travel cot for a while until we borrowed a crib. I regret not buying a crib to start with.

batfish · 21/04/2015 16:19

I've never had heartburn in my life and then I've had it quite a lot today, not enjoying it! Sad

gingerbreadmam · 21/04/2015 18:59

thanks flipflump Smile all the advice is welcomed here. here i am sat thinking people will want to admire my baby asleep in the moses basket never crossed my mind of course everyone will want a snuggle!

my work do a collection and id like to think ill get enough on that to cover a sleepyhead so i dont need to worry about buying that i think its upstairs arrangements im really stuck on and the fact we'll have to move between now and then makes deciding on that impossible at min.

LexiLexi · 21/04/2015 22:19

Hi just marking my place here. New arrival due 16th Oct, we already have a toddler, so wondering how it will be when we are 4.

When are you ladies planning on making your official announcements (excluding close family and friends?) We wanted to wait until the 20 week scan but my bump is huge already and is outing me!

gingerbreadmam · 22/04/2015 07:59

not on social media so havent spread the word far and wide but all my family and friends i see speak to regularly know and im happy for people to spread the word now Smile

Stinkersmum · 22/04/2015 08:08

Told our parents at 5 weeks. Just had a good 14 week scan and negative t21 etc test so am telling siblings/best friend this weekend. I'll leave everyone else until the 20 week scan. Yes, it's pessimistic but there's still so much that can be discovered at the 20 week scan. If everything goes well after then, other people can be told but I'll not be putting it over social media etc.

batfish · 22/04/2015 14:35

We have told everyone we wanted to find out directly from us - we might do a Facebook announcement because hubby wants to do a creative picture but it depends if he gets round to it! But even if we do that I don't plan to plaster Facebook with stuff, I rarely post now anyway, mainly read what other people are up to. Each to their own but I'm not someone who wants every single person I've ever met knowing the inner workings of my uterus! A girl I used to work with was posting every week on Facebook during her pregnancy with the little app updates of what is happening this week - fair enough if it made her happy but I don't feel like anyone other than family and close friends are interested in that level of detail!

Stinkersmum · 22/04/2015 14:42

batfish same here. A) it's pretty indulgent to think that all your fb friends are actually want to know in the first place and B) I cannot stand all the bump profile pictures some mums to be seem to think need to be taken and shared every week. Bore off. ShockCake

MrsEvansAlmost · 22/04/2015 14:53

hello sorry just catching up with the thread as it disappeared off my feed!

hope everyone is doing ok.

Nutellalover14 · 22/04/2015 16:55

Close family and a couple of our close friends already know, and all very excited. Scan is on Friday, i'll be 13 weeks tomorrow Grin, and providing everything is all ok we will let everyone else know. I'll probably put something on FB at some point, as we both have family and good friends further a field, Australia, England, and Jersey mainly. I'll be happy that i don't need to keep it a secret on more Smile. Just looking forward to getting a bump now Grin

boredandtired31 · 22/04/2015 17:36

I've had crazy bad heartburn since the nausea went away and I started eating again. Was eating rennies and gaviscon way too much. MW asked at booking appointment and I said I need to get something stronger. She was not impressed! She told me I could only have gaviscon and that the doctor would only give me gaviscon - load of rubbish! I told her I'm a pharmacist and I've researched this before for patients at work - I have ranitidine now so I'm not needing over the recommended amounts of antacids anymore but she was not happy about it. Nothing is completely risk free but if you end up taking too much antacid that is bad too so important to discuss with a doctor who isn't completely blinkered (or actually know what they are talking about!). Hope anyone suffering gets what they need.

Toast85 · 22/04/2015 22:15

I'll be putting a Facebook post up at some point- I know I like to see other people's pregnancy announcements and I like knowing what other people are up to (yes I'm nosy like that) so I figured other people might want to hear about me maybe. And if they don't then they can just ignore it!

Hi all, I am so excited about being pregnant that I just wanted all my friends to know so we posted on FB the other day (we have lots of family and friends abroad so it was an easy way to share our news). I'm not one to post a million updates though...just special news. I did my first ante-natal Pilates class yesterday..feeling a little stiff today!!
