Anyone started using preggo pillows yet? I've been trying dutifully to sleep on my left but I'm a bit of a wriggler (especially when not sleeping well- ie every fricking night since pg) and can't stay comfy in one position too long. I didn't really want to fork out for a posh pillow and will try padding myself up with a few extra normal ones - I'm thinking one between knees, one to cuddle. Bump isn't big enough to need it yet but hoping the nursing pillow I've ordered will do as a bump support pillow too when I get that far.
Anyone else having similar problems? And yes I know I don't need to worry at all about sleeping position yet but I am trying to get into good habits!

Beauty, I'm so sorry to hear your news, must be devastating and I think Adventure's idea of a plant is a really lovely one. I imagine it probably hasn't quite sunk in yet. Sending virtual hugs.

Fabuluce, glad your scan went well. I've got mine tomorrow so keeping my fingers crossed all is going to be ok.

Annabegins good tip on listening for the heartbeat, I just assumed that would happen at the 12wk scan. Glad to hear all was good.

Toast, good luck with telling people. I've already told a few people but can't wait till I can openly tell everyone. I'm with you on the clothes front!
I had no idea about sleeping on left. I always sleep on my right. Why is that supposed to be a good idea?

Fabuluce · 15/04/2015 08:57

Ooh good luck Toast! My close circle know already but I'm excited about the big reveal Smile I'm hoping to do it sometime next week after my 12 week scan.

I think the pillow sounds like a good plan. I naturally sleep on my left but quite often wake up on my back - I think that's from attempting to roll over to my right. I guess our bodies know what's right and wake us up when we're uncomfy.

gingerbreadmam · 15/04/2015 09:51

ooh yes toast i keep waking up on my back and being fuming at mysely. i wouldnt care i didnt even know i slept on my back before so its quite strange.

i heard about sleeping on your left but i seem to have a problem with my hip that is triggered when i sleep on my left hand side.

not entirely worried as im up about 5 times a night for the loo so however i sleep im not in that position for too long.

Hello ladies!

All good here, I am now 14 weeks (ish) and saw a lovely little baby at my scan at 13 weeks plus. The detail was amazing being that bit further on than my past two booking scans at 11-12 weeks and we saw all it's fingers and toes, it swallowing, I had a trainee ultrasonagher so the whole thing was done twice which was lovely more time to look at baby!

We told people yesterday having waited until after a family wedding, I didn't want to be congratulated at the wedding. We collected our new caravan yesterday so I put a Facebook photo of it up saying simply it is a good thing it is 5/6 berth as our family will be growing in October Grin I am one of those boring old fashioned people that doesn't tell a soul until post 12 week scan.

adventure your plant is so beautiful, I hope you are getting on ok and being kind to yourself. I lost my very first pregnancy at this time of year in 2009 and the forget me nots are out and blooming beautifully, look for them, they grow wild almost everywhere and they will remind you of your baby too, as they do for me every year. Flowers

beauty my love to you too. I am so sorry.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok. I hope to be around a bit more but am currently juggling working full time, and the two little ones plus exams.

SparklesandBubbles · 15/04/2015 12:54

Hi
Does anyone else have completely debilitating days? I had a really good day yesterday with loads of energy and then today I am totally wiped out. Was sick this morning and just feel really rubbish, have spent most of the morning in bed. Will I get my energy back? I'm usually such an active person and am finding it hard to cope with. Any advice?

Fabuluce · 15/04/2015 16:42

Sounds familiar Sparkles! Ive found that I get breathless just going up the stairs recently and that if I stand up for too long my lower abdomen (can't really call it a bump yet!) really starts to ache and lying down is the thing that sorts it out. It makes achieving pretty slow going!

Toast85 · 15/04/2015 17:28

Told my manager officially- she already knew! It was bound to get around though as I have had to tell colleagues for various reasons in the last few weeks.
Anyway at least now I can tell everyone and not try to hide how rough I'm feeling!
And we'll do an announcement on Facebook too, now that work know.

Yes sparkles- today has been my worst day yet- hormones, tearful all day, backache, breathless, exhausted.

Thanks for the replies. Reassuring that others feel the same too, although wouldn't wish the symptoms on anyone. Have to keep telling myself that it will definitely all be worth it in a few months time.

Thanks for the sleep advice, have spoken with DH about us possibly swapping sides of the bed we sleep on so I sleep on my left side.

I've got my scan tomorrow so keeping my fingers crossed everything is normal.

Adventuregame · 16/04/2015 13:21

Hopping on the bus just to update you ladies who remember me...

Just had the follow up at hospital 2 weeks after ERPC. All fine, Dr really pleased.

Had scan and everything has completely healed. Uterus and lining look perfect and tissue that was sent away was negative for molar pregnancy which is good.

He says he would be optimistic for future but wouldn't leave it too long !!

Said sometimes you just have to accept that life is hard and roll the dice again and again.

Here's to the dice rolling ladies........looks like we'll be trying again sooner than I really expected to !! DP can't wait (Men!!)

Just want to say thanks to the October bus for getting me through those early weeks and still being there for me through the heartache !!

Good Luck with all your bumps !!!!

gaggiagirl · 16/04/2015 15:09

Will you start trying straight away adventure? I'm so glad you're all better!

Adventuregame · 16/04/2015 15:24

Gaggia no I need to wait for my first AF and with my cycle being 45 days long it could take a while.

Ladypug · 16/04/2015 21:10

Woop! Just in the second trimester from today! Is time going fast or slow for everyone else? x

Toast85 · 17/04/2015 06:11

Fist trimester- sloooooow!
Think the second will fly past though!

Morning all, we had our scan yesterday and all looks good (would post a pic but my computer's packed up and I'm just on mobile site). Bubba was looking down at the ground initially so wasn't great view to start with but I was asked to jump up and down which moved it around. We saw its little heart beating away which was so lovely to see and everything is normal. I ended up telling lots of people at work, who all said they had guessed anyway but were really happy for me. I know we're probably supposed to wait for the blood tests to come back but the Sonographer said the measurement behind the neck looked normal so I'm taking the positive. Even if Bubba did have something wrong I would still have him/her. EDD has been pushed back a day so I think I might be the last one on the bus - Halloween baby for us! ????

boredandtired31 · 17/04/2015 09:09

Yay Sparkles, great news! I had scan yesterday too and also had to do some aerobics. Glad it wasn't just me looking like a wally. All good for us too and I can't post pics as I don't have any fancy tech to do it. Work spotted me coming in late and before I knew it we were having a party in the pharmacy. News travels fast!

batfish · 17/04/2015 09:09

Ah yay sparkles - jealous of your Halloween baby! I should have been one but was born a week early. I was actually trying to find baby Halloween outfits a couple of weeks ago Shock

Bought pram etc yesterday! v early I know but we are in UK for last time before baby comes and it's cheaper and better choice here. All very strange!

boredandtired31 · 17/04/2015 09:10

Oh yes, and we were moved forward 4 days so now due on 16th Oct.

batfish · 17/04/2015 09:12

Ahh adventure I'm happy things have healed nicely and you are able to try again. Seems like a good thing to come out of your sad experience is that you know now that you do definitely want a baby which is great. Keeping everything crossed for you that you're not far behind us! Glad you are keeping us posted Smile

gingerbreadmam · 17/04/2015 09:24

anyone been looking on the asda baby and toddler event? there is a good offer on some closer to nature bottle sets, anyone any experience of these? is it too soon to buy? 14wks. thanks.

Toast85 · 17/04/2015 18:28

Bat- what pram, what pram?? which one??? That's really exciting! DH and I might go for a first look/ test-push at the weekend.

gaggiagirl · 17/04/2015 21:52

ginger tommee tippee closer to nature? Go for it, really good value and does the job. I breast fed DD so used the manual breast pump with matching bottles and microwave sterilizer all awesome. If you are full time formula feeding though I would choose different bottles such as Dr brown or Philips avent, they have anti colic things in them and last well.

gingerbreadmam · 18/04/2015 07:01

thanks gaggia im going to hold off for now as i havent made a decision on which way to feed yet. i think id like to try breast feeding i just need more information on different ways you can do it as i dont know if i want to exclusively breast feed and im also worried as i may only be able to take 6 months maternity.

Superexcited · 18/04/2015 07:36

Does anybody else find that their bump is twice the size at bedtime as it is first thing in the mornings?
When me wake up I have quite a small bump (my stretchy normal clothes still just about fit) but by the time I go to bed and have eaten 3 meals during the day I look very obviously pregnant and even leggings have to be pulled below my bump or they are very tight and uncomfortable and leave a red mark across my belly.
I have bought some maternity leggings and a skirt so I think I might have to start wearing them this week, even if I only need them in the latter half of the day.

gingerbreadmam · 18/04/2015 08:03

i was surprised the other day to find my leggings cutting me in half across my bump. wasnt really expecting that just yet so yes im with you super Grin
