for fab im another one that had a bleed. bit like a nosebleed then a clot about the size of a 10p piece. was scanned 3 days later and no problems and nothing to suggest where the bleed had come from. that was 9 wks im 13+2 now and all was well at dating scan on friday.

gaggiagirl · 12/04/2015 21:12

gingerbread you're from the same neck of the woods as me, where are you having the baby? Or are you home birthing? Pm me if dont want to out yourself.

Fabuluce · 12/04/2015 21:30

Thank you all for your reassuring bleed stories (and annoyingly long waits until scan time too!). It's definitely made me feel better about it all. I'm all clear now on the bleeding front so I'm hoping it was nothing but I'm still having my scan on Tuesday to make sure. Obvs! Any chance to see my little bean growing right? Still feeling exhausted and being upright for any length of time seems to make my tum ache and going horizontal seems to be the only thing that makes this better. Anyone else have this?

Lemon have you tried eating something little, a biscuit, piece of cheese etc every hour? My sister had terrible morning (all day!) sickness and the only way she got through it was to eat on the hour. If she went over hour she vommed - it was like clockwork! Strange but true. It was the only thing that got her through.

Cineraria · 13/04/2015 00:26

Lala, my sickness changed from being when I hadn't eaten to being after I've eaten around week nine or ten I think but then tailed off after week fourteen and since then I've only thrown up twice in the last two weeks. It's much more annoying after eating as you lose all the nutrients and energy from that meal. One thing I did find that helped me was to have something sweet while I was preparing my meals, e.g. a boiled sweet or a small glass of orange juice. That seemed to settle my stomach a bit. Do you have indigestion too? I had it quite badly, although the doctor recommended medicine that helped make it manageable, and wondered if it might have been indigestion that caused the after meal vomiting.

Today DH has been playing Bach to the baby as he has read that this helps its brain (I told him that my app says the baby can hear from sixteen weeks, which is today).

lalalemon · 13/04/2015 18:02

Cineraria, No indigestion at all no, and no signs it's going to happen until it's happening! I've been making sure to have a little snack in the late afternoon so I'm not super hungry by tea time, and DP has taken over all tea making duties bless him! Hopefully it'll all be a thing of the past soon! Just not making my pregnancy very enjoyable at the moment!

We've already been reading stories to Spud and talking to him, didn't realise he won't be able to hear us for a bit yet! Ah well! (Obviously don't know what sex Spud is yet, but I hate calling him it!

Beautytobe · 13/04/2015 20:22

Finally got my scan tomo! The scanner person has been on leave for Easter (how selfish haha)
Got a wee bump as it's my second and sickness finally easing up though not completely gone. Brushing my teeth still make me gag so bad! And smells...boke! Starting to kick in am having another, CC has just turned one! Am mad!
Totally my husbands idea...seemed good to me at the time. Haha!

SparklesandBubbles · 13/04/2015 23:33

Beauty, good luck with the scan tomorrow. Mine's on Thursday! I'm feeling a bit worried that I've already told quite a few people before having the scan...keeping everything crossed that it will be fine.

I'm a bit jealous of you who are not showing yet, I feel like I've expanded hugely over the last couple of weeks and seem to be showing a bit already, it is my first and I'm not even 12 weeks yet!!

Someone even gave up their seat for me on the tube today and I didn't even have my 'baby on board' badge on...don't really feel I need to wear it yet unless I'm feeling exhausted or sick.

Lala, I've been feeling very nauseous the last few days and I'm finding the only thing that helps is to eat little and often. I have a bag of almonds / roasted seeds that I pick at during the day too. It seems to be helping.

Beautytobe · 14/04/2015 11:31

Had scan this morning and unfortunately baby died a couple of days ago. Don't really know how to feel and was unsure if to post anything at all. Having to go bk to hospital some point this week to induce a miscarriage.

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 11:54

Oh Beauty this happened to me 2 weeks ago and I've left this bus now but your post popped up on my feed and I wanted to send a big hug.

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 11:56

gingerbread gave me this thread link and it really helped me...

Cineraria · 14/04/2015 12:00

So sorry to hear this, Beauty. Such a sad thing to have happened to you. We had a similar experience last year and I hope that you find the team at your hospital are just as kind and supportive of you as you go through the next steps as the ones who looked after me.

I hope you are finding some comfort in your family in the meantime. Love to all of you.

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 12:12

Whilst I'm on here I'll say hello to you all. I'm doing ok after ERPC and back at work. DP has gone off on a work trip but thankfully was home through the last 2 weeks of upset !
We're throwing ourselves into house renovations that had been on hold to save baby money but it's giving us something else to think about !!
We bought a plant in memory of the loss and I can sit in our dining room looking out at it which gives me a warm happy feeling that it won't be forgotten.
Good luck to you all and I promise to pop on the bus every now and again just for one stop to wave and see how you're all doing !

gingerbreadmam · 14/04/2015 12:35

im so sorry beauty. i spent a lot of my time on the thread adventure posted i hope you can get some help there.

i went through this in november and it is so difficult. if you have any questions or just want to vent feel free to pm me. thinking of u Thanks

gingerbreadmam · 14/04/2015 12:37

also great to hear from you adventure glad you are feeling a little better and making positive steps. working on the house will be very rewarding, great to see it all coming together.

your plant sounds just perfect and glad it brings you happy memories Thanks

Fabuluce · 14/04/2015 13:10

Oh Beauty how devastating for you. Ive been there too and my thoughts are with you at this horrible time.

Hi Adventure, good to hear you've found something else to concentrate on and the plant is a great idea. My counsellor recommended that too when I miscarried and whilst I didn't do it in the end (we were planning on moving house and I didn't want to leave it) I thought the idea around it was brilliant. It is important to be able to move on from loss and having a ceremony, however small, helps with the grief.

I hope this isnt seen as being too insensitive given the current sadness, but after my scare at the weekend I had a good scan this morning and all is well currently. Huge sigh of relief in the fab household.

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 13:18

My plant is in a pot so I can take it if we ever move.

Congrats on the good scan Fab !

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 13:20

Here's my memory plant !

October baby bus take 3- booking in appointments and scans, here we come!
Cineraria · 14/04/2015 13:39

What a lovely plant, Adventure! It looks like it has pink flower buds on it that are just about to come out. It should be nice in future years to see it blossom this time of year in memory. We planned to get a little cherry tree in memory of ours as they blossom at the time we found out I was pregnant. It was too late to get one last year so we had to wait until now.

It sounds like a good idea to get on with the work on the house too. Something you can both plan together and enjoy the results. Hope it all goes well.

Glad to hear about the good scan outcome after all the worry, Fabuluce.

Adventuregame · 14/04/2015 14:03

Thanks. Yes it's an azalea and should get pink flowers April-June each year but leaves stay green all year round ! I love it but without being fixated on it in a morbid way if you know what I mean !

gaggiagirl · 14/04/2015 17:25

beauty you poor love. I'm so sorry for your loss.
adventure its lovely to hear from you again.

AnnaBegins · 14/04/2015 18:14

Oh beauty so sorry to hear that.

adventure your plant is lovely and it's good to hear from you again.

Fab yay for a reassuring scan.

I had my 16wk appointment today, when I asked about listening for baby's heartbeat she said they're no longer allowed to offer this due to NICE guidelines but are allowed if you insist. She seemed quite pleased I did insist actually and baby has a lovely heartbeat at about 142bpm. Sounded really fast! So worth asking even if midwife doesn't mention it. She had to put on my notes though that I'd asked so she wouldn't get in trouble!

Ladypug · 14/04/2015 18:59

So sorry to hear this Beauty, I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. Lovely to hear from you Adventure, the plant sounds lovely - I can't see it (bloody mobile site!) but will look on a desktop tomorrow. Please carry on visiting the bus, we all love to hear from you. Renovations sound like a great idea too, I wish we had spent time on this now! X

Cineraria · 14/04/2015 21:24

Anna, that's really interesting to hear they don't do the heartbeat at 16 weeks now. My 16 week appointment was also today but was with a consultant (due to problems in the last pregnancy) and he wanted to see a scan so the heartbeat was done as part of that. I would have been disappointed too if I didn't hear it.

I went to my first session of pregnancy yoga today and can really recommend it. I feel so much looser now and it helps so much with the posture and all the aches I'm starting to feel. Is anyone else doing it?

AnnaBegins · 14/04/2015 23:06

Cine she did say it depends on the NHS trust as to how strict they are with the guidelines! Glad you got a heartbeat too. Pregnancy yoga sounds good, my standard Pilates class is still suiting me ok for now, really helps!

Toast85 · 15/04/2015 04:50

So sorry beauty, such sad news. Hope you have lots of support at home and from the hospital team. Look after yourself.

My mw actually offered to listen with doppler at 8 weeks! Didn't hear hb, though apparently there is a v v slim chance you can at that stage. She said 'don't worry we'll definitely get it at 16 weeks!' So I'm counting on her!

Fab- congrats on your scan news!

Wish me luck today- I am officially telling work, and after that I will be 'out' to everyone! It's about time though- mini bump is definitely showing through my uniform and has attracted comments already from 2 colleagues who do already know, and I need to get some more comfy trousers ASAP, so can't really hide it for much longer before everyone else guesses!
