adventure I guess that one good thing to come out of this sad situation is that you've decided you will definitely try again - I know you were having a few wobbles about whether you were doing the right thing so it looks like this has made you decide that you were so next time you hopefully won't have those concerns and will be happy with your decision. Thinking of you and I hope things get sorted quickly for you so you can deal with it all.

Feel a bit bad posting this with the sad news but I had my scan this morning and all is good so I'm very relieved, my due date has even moved forward 5 days so I'm apparently 13+3 now!

Ca55andraMortmain · 01/04/2015 13:55

Hi everyone, have just been reading back over the thread from the last few days. Adventure I'm so sorry for your loss, you sound incredibly brave and together, I wish you all the best for the future and will be thinking of you.

For those of you with happy scan news, congrats - ours is on Friday and I'm looking forward to seeing the little bean but also worried. I've been off work with what is now pretty much confirmed to be HG, feeling completely awful and at times convinced that I will literally never stop throwing up. Had a complete panic a few days ago when I started throwing up blood, but apparently small tears in your gullet are part and parcel of HG and doc said not to worry Hmm so it's all been fun and games here. I'm really worried that scan will show something wrong on Friday, how can this baby possibly be healthy when I'm so rough? Besides the fact that I've lost so much weight and just don't look or feel pregnant, just really ill!

Taranta · 01/04/2015 16:55

That sounds hideous ca55andra you poor thing! How many weeks are you now? I imagine you've tried antiemetics if it's been that bad? I'm taking cyclizine and it's been a godsend, no longer throwing up 4 times a day!

Ca55andraMortmain · 01/04/2015 17:33

I'm 12+3 taranta. Yeah gp tried me on cyclizine which took me from 20+ times a day down to around 6 or 7 but that amount is still exhausting and hard to cope with. I'm now on stemetil which seems a bit better. Have kept down 2 slices of toast today which I havent done in ages!

Ladypug · 01/04/2015 17:37

Hey all,

Sorry to follow your story Adventure, I can only echo what others have said - you are so brave and we're all thinking of you. Choccy wow, 8 miscarriages, I cannot even imagine that, that is mega strong. I'm so happy you're on our bus with us.

I have no real news, I have an eye infection which is a barrel of fun (when I can't take anything for it) and I generally feel crap and run down because I just think I'm doing too much - I'm acting as if I'm not pregnant and pushing myself a bit too hard so I've told myself this weekend, the Bank Holiday is for relaxing and doing nothing. My scan is on Tuesday next week and I just don't want to go, I'm terrified. I'm scared of having the nuchal blood test (because I'm a wuss with blood tests) and terrified to see the baby in case a) there is something wrong God forbid or b) I just freak out (I still haven't really got my head around the whole heart beating issue).

Wow - I sound like a fruit cake reading this back but hopefully you ladies understand what I mean x

Choccywoccydodah · 01/04/2015 17:45

Thanks Lady, it's been a tough time especially as they couldn't find anything wrong, and I had no problem conceiving Ds month 3 after being on the pill for 14 years straight!
But, I kept going and we're here :)
Told ds this morning, he's so chuffed bless him. Except he said can I have a brother AND a sister Hmm er no, this is IT!

Ca55 that sounds horrific! I don't know how you stand up! :(

boredandtired31 · 01/04/2015 17:46

Wow, I really feel for you Ca55andra. I'm on cyclizine like Taranta and it was just the thing. I'm weaning myself off at the moment because it knocks me out and I'm not sure if its making the dizziness worse. The dehydration made it really bad - went into hospital overnight to get some fluids but since then even though I'm drinking plenty the dizziness is so bad I'm mostly stuck in bed. Have you had any side effects with the cyclizine Taranta?

It still sounds like you have been suffering much worse than I have and I really did feel desperate a few weeks ago. I really hope it eases soon for you, it really is such an awful experience.

Choccywoccydodah · 01/04/2015 17:46

And no lady you don't sound a fruitcake!! Totally understandable! :)

Ladypug · 01/04/2015 18:00

Hahaha love that, a brother AND a sister, that's quite a tall order! x

Ca55andraMortmain · 01/04/2015 18:25

thanks everyone, sometimes a wee bit of online sympathy is just the ticket! bored I was a bit like that on cyclizine too and wasn't sure if the dizziness was from dehydration and lack of food or from the cyclizine or both! I've only been on Stemetil since last night and have spent the entire time in bed as I feel so floppy and weak so I'm not that sure if the dizziness has gone or not! choccy I'm glad your DS was excited about his new sibling!

batfish · 01/04/2015 19:10

Wow Ca55andra that sounds awful you poor thing! I really hope it passes soon!

flipflump · 01/04/2015 21:35

Ca55andra, that sounds dreadful!! My sickness is easing a little, I know I wouldn't cope if it was as extreme as yours. Hope it passes soon.

There's now a Dec '15 bus, that makes us even more pregnant Smile

RhiannonElward · 02/04/2015 15:23

Oops I think I last posted on the first thread, how neglectful of me. I haven't read the whole thing so apologies if I missed anything major, just checking in to see how people are doing with dating scans etc.

Firstly, I am so sorry to hear of your loss Adventure, please take very good care of yourself and give yourself the time you need to grieve Flowers

Ladypug I have my scan on Tuesday too, although I am desperate for it. I want to see this little one who's giving me so much trouble. I'm feeling sick if I am hungry, even more sick if I am full. Also, I am exhausted all the time. I'm over 12 weeks now, and cannot wait for the end of this phase so I can get on with my life, honestly my poor kids must be wondering where their mother has gone, I am struggling to get dressed and do my hair let alone going to the park for a game of football.

Ca55andra you have my sincere sympathy, you must be going through hell. Hopefully not for much longer though, fingers crossed it eases for you soon.

Toast85 · 02/04/2015 17:19

Hi Rhiannon! Good to hear from you! Sorry you've been feeling so sick, glad you're still with us on the thread though. Hope this stage passes soon and you get your 2nd trimester energy boost!

whoknew28 · 02/04/2015 19:41

Wow, you poor ladies with horrific sickness, sounds awful. Really hope it eases off soon! The things we go through to have a baby?! And all the boys do is the fun bit at the beginning. I know it's not their fault, but still Hmm

Batfish - lovely scan news, yay! Got my 12 wk one on weds. Still worried about bad news, but less so following the positive 10 wk one. Good luck to the other ladies who're on tues - fingers crossed for us all!

whoknew28 · 02/04/2015 19:45

Oh - and finally took the plunge and bought a new mat bra to help my Jordan-esq chest... Oh the relief. Three cup sizes bigger and finally comfy. Next stop - maternity jeans! Had to undo my button on the train home tonight... think no one noticed ??

Taranta · 02/04/2015 21:31

Wow Ca55 if you've been vomiting that many times a day no wonder you've been feeling so horrendous, it's physically exhausting quite apart from anything else, you poor thing Sad.
bored I've been okay on the cyclizine, a bit dizzy like if you stand up too quickly, and dry mouthed, also quite tired, but then that might be the pregnancy in any case.
Nearly 14 weeks and my stomach has definitely popped out this last couple of days. I shall be helping it along with a hundredweight of Easter chocolate this weekend if my appetite holds, he he...

Allstoppedup · 02/04/2015 21:54

Hello ladies! Sorry to hear some of you are feeling so rough.

I've had another grim day, I've got a cough which combined with the nausea is making me sick even more than usual.

Bleh, on the plus side, I went to my booking in appointment, heard a little heartbeat and my midwife was totally excited and supportive of me wanting a homebirth so that has cheered me up.

batfish · 03/04/2015 07:08

whoknew I bought new bras last weekend and it was so nice! Weirdly not a bigger cup size though, just bigger around. Although I already wish I'd bought the next size up!

I def need to upgrade the trousers soon, can hardly fasten any of my trousers and then yesterday the ones that I can still wear to work were so uncomfortable by the end of the day, I seem to grow a lot during the day!

batfish · 03/04/2015 07:09

allstoppedup great news from your midwife appt! Hope you feel better soon

gingerbreadmam · 03/04/2015 08:45

i have my scan tuesday too Grin should be 12+1 although at an earlier scan for a scare i was couple of days behind dont think it matters tho the way they measure them.

was out shopping yesterday and someone went into the back of us. was very minor and feel nothing at all around bump dnt even think seatbelt tightened but its playing on my mind so cant wait for tuesday.

hope everyone else is well! to all those with sickness, hope it comes to an end soon Thanks

ooh just a thought, anyone approaching 12 weeks, can you feel like things 'softening'? like as if ur ligaments are beginning to change?

RhiannonElward · 03/04/2015 10:11

Ooh exciting week for scans ahead, I can't wait to see how everyone's little people are doing. I'll be 13 weeks exactly, and I'm hoping for a nub photo so I can begin sex investigations as I'm waiting for my blood tests :)

I declined the Down's screening and I'm considering opting out of the stupid STD tests too, just because I find them offensive. Of course they have their place, but I'm not one for random STD tests when they aren't necessary.

Is anyone else being picky like me? I'm having number 3 and didn't refuse any tests on my last two, but this time I've decided that I want to do things my way and opting out of unnecessary tests is part of that. I want to start asserting myself more as practice for pushing for a vba2c if I need to.

Allstoppedup · 03/04/2015 10:11

Thanks bat

gingerbread good luck at your scan!

I wouldn't worry too much about the car bump. I had someone go into the back of my taxi when I was a huge waddling 38 weeks with DC1 and all was well.

I did ask my midwife yesterday if my chubby 15 month old leaping around on me was dangerous as he quite often climbs up me to get to boobs and she said when I get too big for it, I'll know but until then it's fine!

gingerbreadmam · 03/04/2015 10:19

thanks allstopped i did ring epu for reassurance and they were great said babys still tucked behind pelvis (altho u wouldnt think so looking at me ha!) and obv in a lovely sac of fluid so nothing to worry about at all.

i hope i can get a good nub too.

gaggiagirl · 03/04/2015 10:31

Rhiannon I've missed you! Call back into the shagging grads too we miss you there.
