Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Oh thinking of you lauren! As others have said, you're in the best possible place and the steroids will have done their job too. Looking forward to hearing the news Thanks

I think leaky boobs are quite common? My friend had them from quite early on.

DulcetMoans · 08/03/2015 10:13

A penguin? An actual penguin?! That's a good imagination there mini, I don't think I've ever dreamt I'm anything other than people. (Oh, and I don't leak wet but I have some crusty stuff going on!)

Also in for the sling chat. Need to google that chair, no idea what that is!

Hope you can be friends now purple, never nice to spent a Sunday not talking.

couldhavebeenme · 08/03/2015 10:14

Good luck Lauren hope all ok.

On the bra front I've gone from an F to an H cup, refusing to buy more bras and raiding my stash from last time - the feeding bras are a K cup!!

La we had a similar style carrier last time which husband used, while I used a pouch type sling. This time I have a moby wrap on loan from a friend. I think the carriers tend to let the baby "hang" from the bottom and don't put the legs in the frog sort of position. (Technical terms of course Wink) However if you are worried about that there is a neat trick you can find somewhere online involving a scarf or similar to wrap around the bottom of the baby (in a bjorn type carrier) and support their legs in the "correct" position.

couldhavebeenme · 08/03/2015 10:18

Other thought on the sling thing I forgot to mention is that the main reason I didn't like the carrier style myself was comfort, the weight isn't distributed very evenly and I found it hurt back and shoulders. The pouch sling (a babasling, i think) went across one shoulder but I could feed in it and also when they get bigger you can use them for hip carries.

Indigoblue2 · 08/03/2015 10:25

Btw - I've got my sexing scan today!!! Although the fannies call it a "gender scan"... If the sonographer thinks that one's going to slip by without a mention they've got another thing coming SmileSmile

mountaingirl01 · 08/03/2015 10:31

Wow, good luck Lauren! I'm hoping you've delivered a beauty by now x

Enjoy indigo!

Gorgeous little bean bat :) that must be such a relief

Lovely the bump pics all! I'm getting bump envy! Currently sporting a pancake baby after dh made me breakfast. I was supposed to be racing this morning and slept in Blush but did finally break the DTD drought!

RPopz · 08/03/2015 10:40

Eeek Lauren!! I keep popping by to see if miniLauren has made an appearance yet, wasn't expecting it to be so soon! Hope all is well lovely Thanks

La BabyBjorns are def not good for forward facing carrying. They're not ergonomic for Mum or baby. But you wouldn't be doing that for a while anyway, I'm not sure if they're better for inward facing. I've got a Caboo sling and an Ergo carrier - which was pricey but super comfy. I like stretchy wraps but they're a bit of a faff to get on I find. Is there a sling library near you? I think putting them on is the best way to choose. Juni knows lots about slings Wink

Pisghetti · 08/03/2015 10:55

Hope DP is back with you Lauren and things are progressing as well as they can x x

I would suggest a sling library too. I'm going along to a local one next week - not sure how well I'll be able to practice different types with my bump but it will be useful to get an idea of the different styles/ties/carries etc anyway. I have a Rose and Rebellion carrier (will grab a link in a mo) and my friend is lending me a stretchy for the newborn stage.

Enjoy Indigo!

Mini is TMI a thing here?

I have dream envy! I wanna be a penguin!

Pisghetti · 08/03/2015 10:57

Rose and rebellion carriers here they're reversible so can be plain black for the guys to use if you pick a girlier design.

LaLaLaaaa · 08/03/2015 11:47

Excellent stuff - thanks for carrier sling advice! My local sling library is miles away but I'll make the effort.

I am very chuffed. Just saved £50 using my advantage card at boots to buy all my baby stuff. Got free changing bag worth £30, 1/3 off avent bottles, £1 off newborn nappies, half price size 1 nappies and free pg vitamins. Hooray!

Is anyone else totally flummoxed by angelcare monitors? There seem to be multiple ones at different prices that do same thing...

Fattycow · 08/03/2015 12:20

indigo, have fun and give them hell about calling it a gender scan. Wink

Indigoblue2 · 08/03/2015 12:23

I've already rehearsed:

"Sex is the biological difference between a male and a female. Gender is the cultural interpretation of what makes a man a man and woman a woman."

Suck it up Babybond, suck it up! Smile

Fattycow · 08/03/2015 12:27

Indeed! There is quite a significant and important difference between the two terms and people should not use them indiscriminately!

willywallace · 08/03/2015 12:46

I'm so stuck about carriers too. I have a lend of a boba wrap and hate it. I am trying to decide between a connecta, an ergo and a manducca which was recommended to me. We don't have a sling library and I really need to find one which caters for her age but obv with legs apart. I also have a free baby bjorn La but far too scared to use it now. The new baby bjorn is fine I believe as they have changed the design but the old one not.

laurenamium · 08/03/2015 12:52

Baby Isaac James was born this morning at 10:30am via emergency section, after a rocky start he's doing amazingly in NICU. 5 pounds! So huge! I haven't really seen him yet but DP is with him, ill get some photos of him when I can!
