Just watched a film with DH, I'm so confused! Confused Anybody else seen predestined? I got right away that it was a paradox but it just stopped in a random place and then the credits rolled. It didn't conclude very well and now were googling what it was all about. Confused

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 21:19

Lauren I think I have seen it when he keeps going back in time and turns out its him all along throughout different times and things that's the best I can describe it lol

smogsville · 07/03/2015 21:49

I went to a wedding at around 37 wks in Bristol last time, so not exactly nearby but a v dear friend. I don't think I would this time around unless it was in London, I'm just too tired and also feeling quite militant about suiting myself! Basically i am a bit older and a bit grumpier and I'm not doing anything i don't feel like doing Angry

I always found car seats dreadfully heavy so never really tried to carry one anywhere even when DD tiny. I just leave it in the car. A friend gave me an isofix, defo nice to have but I don't know how much they cost so mine isn't really a considered or informed opinion.

Penguin I never go to shopping centres, I really hate them with a vengeance bc of all the crowds. Just the idea of them would make me cry. Sorry about your pelvic pain.

Still not had anything from HV but maybe they don't do it here, or perhaps I'm still too early on at 33+3. Didn't have one first time around.

Hooray for your lovely day daholster.

I've never thought of putting anything in bed for waters either.

Curtains in DD's current room which will be the new baby's nursery in dur course are John Lewis navy with glow in the dark stars. Seemed reasonably gender neutral to me. Nursery is painted yellow.

Squatting hope your DH cheers up on his night out. Sometimes they can be a bit crap and thoughtless can't they.

John Lewis for nursing bras for me. £30 for two which seems fair to me, the cost per wear must have been v low as I BF for nearly a year. Going to reuse them for this baby, am just assuming they'll fit though, should probably try them on Blush

AnniaFausta · 07/03/2015 22:05

For waters - Boots do what they call 'maternity mats', so we've got a packet of them and I'll be putting one over our regular mattress protector next time we change the sheets, I think. I wouldn't bother, but we only got this mattress last summer, so it's still pretty new!

Feeling much better this evening after sitting on the blown-up gym ball and DH finally trying out the Lush massage bar he got me for Christmas in preparation for the early labour stages, just like we were told to for NCT homework, in front of Darts for Comic Relief. Funny home something like that can just cheer you up no end. Off to bed - hope everyone has good sleeps.

daholster · 08/03/2015 03:30

All awake because dd is screaming her head off Sad No idea why and of course she screams for mummy. 11pm and3am so far. Dh is in there. I came out because its the second night in a row, not sure what the insecurity and unwillingness to self settle is about and sitting stroking her to sleep isn't the right habit. It's bizarre though because she cries despite that. She doesn't seem ill, its very odd. She cries in a bit of a shouty not real cry way, then gets herself in such a tizz that she's properly upset. I've no idea what is up, she was fine til yesterday which I had hoped was a one off because she had fallen out of bed.

I find it really upsetting, am getting worried about it and her crying like this gives me unremitting Braxton Hicks when she's calling my name Sad

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 03:50

Just catching up with the thread - sleeping on a ward is hard! I have to do my bloods every 2 hours, had obs at 2 and a trace so now wide awake after 1.5 hrs sleep!

Thanks for all good wishes. I think the current plan is that if I don't go naturally they will induce me on Monday, approx 60+ hours after waters went. I have no idea if I've lost all waters and apparently that can only be determined by a scan, which I haven't had. Overnight MW (who is just lovely) thinks they may start me tomorrow night as Mondsy looks busy for inductions. I have had a few cramps in the past couple if hours so I am ever hopeful things will get going yet!

mini great advice, thanks, I am on antibiotics already since last night and they have mentioned baby going on an antibiotic drip for 48-72 hours post-birth. Poor thing will also be having bloods monitored on til of being prem, although I am hoping as it was tracking slightly large we achieve a 6lb birth weight at almost or on 36w.

DH did brilliantly today, his SIL
works for Morhercare so we got some good help and he has come home with and now built our pram (Babystyle Oyster 2), the carrycot attachment and ordered the car seat and isofix base to arrive on Tuesday! He has also set up the co-sleeper and started cleaning the house top to bottom which I had planned to do this week, week 2 of mat leave! Tomorrow MIL is sorting bedding for us so I think we are then there! Just need to organise a few bits at home, she is also going to stock freezer for us hurrah!

Re waters going, mine felt like a gush but on reflection it was more like I was having a big wee! I managed to waddle to the bathroom and strip and sit on the loo to let the worst out then waddle to nursery for pads and big knickers! It has been an on-off trickle, slowing down today, ever since. No idea of volume though really!

Ladies who are having Braxton hicks, pain etc slow down! I was working like a dog the last week at work and then going shopping etc in mat leave week, several times I had what I now know to be BH, and I have had a loose tummy for weeks now. Rest! Take the hints your body is giving you!

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 03:52

Apologies for all the typos there! Blush

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 04:02

Skyra WTF! Just read your thread re lady not reporting broken waters! I rang the assessment Unit at hospital first when I had a bit of show, and they seemed unconcerned, said call back if it goes bright red or I start to contract, rang my mum and put her on alert, then DH who was typically out drinking (he rarely drinks!) and then waters went so got mum over, flagged DH down via Facebook (cryptic 'call me now!) message! And then called hospital again who said come in when your DH is back. I suppose you could mistake the waters going for wetting yourself but wouldn't you sniff your pants?! (I did!) HmmBlush

PenguinPoser · 08/03/2015 04:02

I'm awake too. Can't get comfortable in bed, nose blocked and I don't know what else just can't sleep since 2am Sad

Rusty sounds like they're keeping a close eye on you and baby although not a good environment for sleep! You're probably right about needing to slow down.

daholster hope peace resumes very soon!

Annia good idea about the massage bar - I added mine to my bag too.

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 04:14

Daholster is she having night terrors? My niece is a similar age to your DD and has just started having them, wakes up inconsolable and has to go in mummy's bed. Apparently they have very active imaginations at 20+ months. There ends what I know about toddlers! Grin

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 04:16

penguin try some Vicks vaporub. I even packed some in hospital bag, I gave always loved it and find it do soothing, a tiny dab should be fine at this late stage! !

Rustyzilla · 08/03/2015 04:17

FFS more typos! Sorry!

OneEyedWilly · 08/03/2015 05:45

Can I join your thread? Having a boy, due 28th April. DP and I are dead excited. It's my first and I'm very nervous. His second, DSD is 8.

Woke up at 4 because of a nightmare that he came early and was on life support and we were recommended to turn it off. Can't get back to sleep at all now.

brummagem · 08/03/2015 07:54

Hello oneeyedwilly you're due the exact same day as me and I'm having a boy as 1st baby too! It's lovely reading how people are doing but everyone is so much further on than me I'm just coming to the end of 32 weeks and the prospect of being pregnant for another 10 weeks is just soooooo long! The weeks still feel pretty fast as work is hectic but imagine will drag once don't have that. I'm such a workaholic!

Another weird dream! Instead of your body telling you were in labour (like you could miss it or something) it was a pager (yeah remember them!!) that beeped a message to tell you. Bloody bonkers!

Glad everything is good rusty hope it al goes well later!

Anyone else finding it hard to stay hydrated? After a mammoth 2nd trimester of drinking pints and pints of iced water I now don't want to drink anything. I bought a bottle of that flavoured water and just tipped it away as couldn't stand it. Normal cold water just feels like its sitting in my tummy. It's horrible. Thank the Lord my evening galaxy bar and cup of tea are still just about ok!

Lauren82000 · 08/03/2015 08:05

Skyra that's the film very bizarre.

Rusty if your having the odd cramp chances are they might just give you 1 gel and it'll be go go go!

Woke up with the worst hip pain ever and my chest hurts on left side. I think I spent too much time on my left side last night and I've crushed my shoulder into my ribs and now it's aching. I got it before when I had DD I had an ECG in the second trimester so it won't be my heart. Just the beginnings of that 'my body is falling apart feeling' you get right at the end.

I'm going to be doing minimum today I've had a busy couple of days, so going to rest before I go back to work tomorrow. Confused

FiRaffe · 08/03/2015 08:50

Sorry for those of you who have had bad nights.

Brummagem - have you tried squash? I have weak squash and it's about the only thing I can face drinking. Before pregnancy it used to be apple and blackcurrant but now it has to be orange based, usually orange and pineapple or orange and mango.

I want a really lazy day but got to tidy and clean the house for the health visitor, but mainly so my Mum and can down and help decorate on Friday. If the health visitor doesn't like it then tough....still working full time and 33 weeks pregnant is not going to give you a shiny clean house!

Lauren82000 · 08/03/2015 08:57

It certainly isn't Fi, luckily for me DH can't stand clutter for too long so as long as I keep on top of the washing the house doesn't look too bad just needs a good dusting.

Well I can now add my right wrist to the aches listHmm

Heyitsholly · 08/03/2015 09:26

My mum sent me this in the post yesterday very cute. And message recieved!
Saying that i plan on decluttering the house today ready for packing when the new house is ready. Whenever that may be.

Went for brunch yesterday and my close friend told me that she thinks i can pass for fat at 34 weeks. People are charming with thier comments arent they!

Good luck rusty! Hope you get tp meet little one soon!

I dreamt about having green waters last night after someone posted about it!

April 2015 Thread 12: Where are the carseats and are the bags packed, the babies are threatening to make an entrance!
RiverRocks · 08/03/2015 09:28

Morning all. Another shocking night's sleep; I keep getting cramp in my thighs as I'm laid, which wakes me up Sad

I wonder how Lady's wedding went - think it was yesterday. Hope she shares pictures, I love a good wedding. We've been invited to DH's friend's wedding 3 days after my EDD. Was gutted to say no (but we'll try and make the evening do, provided we're not in hospital).

What's wrong with your wrist Lauren?

BrixtonBunny · 08/03/2015 09:29

Brumma since being pregnant I've been mainlining lemon water, either fresh lemon juice watered down or the bottled stuff they sell in the baking aisle if I'm feeling lazy! That and fizzy water = delicious sugar-free lemonade x

Lauren82000 · 08/03/2015 09:32

I've slept on it funny and when I try to use it it feels all weak. Hmm I hate those stupid relaxin hormones I've not been bothered by them up until now. I'm just having an achy meant day and I have decided I'm not going to get dressed either. Currently laid out on the couch but once DH and DD go to his mums I'll be back in bed for a nap I'm still tired.

Lauren82000 · 08/03/2015 09:33

That was supposed to be moany not meant.

daholster · 08/03/2015 09:38

Hello willy! Welcome

It seems a few were up last night! Eventually I stopped her crying getting her out of bed (which she had refused the first three attempts) and when she was quiet she told me she had a sore ear. Just the left one. We did calpol then I took her downstairs at 03.30 and we watched some quiet TV, she told me about her ear again so we did neurofen too. At 05.15 I got her to come upstairs for a sleep in our bed. She was wide awake for 20 mins waking dh up. I was feeling so tired and sicky by this point (I assumed from fatigue) I was grateful when she fell asleep but she only left me a foot of bed. I daren't move downstairs cos I thought she'd fall out. Dh snored...

They got up at 08.45. At 09.15 dh brought me a cuppa. Kind but I feel so ill again I can't face it! I'm desperately thirsty but only sipping water with one of those horrible clammy sweats on with sweaty palms and a racing heart, and having eavrs of pain across my upper abdomen that feels like gut issues again. My bag is outputting water again since midnight, on bag 4 of just water now so I'm dehydrating I know... The waves are worse in certain positions and make me feel I might be sick Confused. I think he's pressing on stuff again. I can't imagine at the .moment going another 6 weeks without a proper blockage Sad From a totally selfish perspective I desperately want this baby to come now, I could cry!!! Gutted since yesterday was such a good day. Its sad because last time I enjoyed my pregnancy to the end pretty much and this time I'm wishing it away!

Rusty good luck!!! And hooray for your dh!

34+5... Another day closer...

daholster · 08/03/2015 09:42

And no, I didn't really sleep at all in my 1 foot of bed space!!! Dcs are so good at taking up a huge amount of bed space!!!

skyra13 · 08/03/2015 09:49

lauren yes the film is odd! I to have weak wrists when I wake up recently I seem to sleep with then bent and they become very painful to use and move when I wake up only started happening past week or so put it down to something in pregnancy.
rusty haha funny you should say but midwife did say sniff your pants if your not sure its waters or wee!! Grin

I am still in bed head hurts feel like I have a hangover lol! Slept to heavy but dog is now looking at ne with big puppy eyes as he wants a wee so maybe I should get up Smile
