I'm glad ur having a better day Daholster- of everyone u deserve it!

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 17:03

I have also been to NCT sale today!! Got some lovely summers bits dresses and outfits ect 0 -3months, got a thermal swimsuit brand new! Lots of muslins, blanket and a really nice maternity dress to where for DH birthday and only cost 3 pound and a cover to keep the cat of baby all for 30 pounds!

I am really hoping HV does not come for a visit before DD is born!

The reason I wanted an ISOFIX base is because I only have a 3 door car so will be easier then climbing into the back as its so small! With the car seat in behind the passenger side they not much leg room if I pick someone up!

There is another nearly new sale by mine by a different company next Saturday do will have a visit down to see if I can find any bargains!

Penguin Sorry you had pain and had a little cry, the lemon tart sounds lovely though! I get the shakes when out shopping and have to get food otherwise I'm a mess! Where did you go to get your bras fitted?

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 17:07

oops X post daholster Finally got an email today saying they have sent my items!! Can't wait as these are the only cloths I have actually brought brand new as all other cloths come from nearly new sales or bundles my dad has got on ebay!

I wanted the free bag but got her a sun dress for holiday bikini bottoms to go over nappy sun hate and some pink leggings so cute!!

PenguinPoser · 07/03/2015 17:29

Boo ah I know - would never usually have gone to the shopping centre in a Saturday afternoon but wanted DH to come rather than braving it alone - which might actually have been a better plan at a quieter time. And believe me - they do not look E cup! She put me in a D initially then got another assistant to come and look who thought the D didn't have enough room for when milk comes in.

daholster glad you've had a good day.
Ivegotacavetroll glad your HV visit was ok and hope they are able to support you with bf if that's what you want to do. In my experience obs are always quite laid back about a lot of meds in pregnancy. Suppose they have more experience of prescribing them whereas for others it's more scary to prescribe when in pregnancy and bf when you're being told it might not be safe.

Feel better now having had late lunch at TGIF - and stopped at mothercare on the way home to get some nursing pjs Smile need to stop spending money!

PenguinPoser · 07/03/2015 17:30

Sorry didn't see your post skyra I went to debenhams Smile

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 17:38

I am braving town next week when my friend comes to visit to go bra shopping my boobs cup size have not grown much! But unsure where to get measured we have a house of Fraser, mothercare and m&s but not hered good things about them measuring people. Also have a speciality pregnancy shop but I imagine they will be quiet expensive but might be worth getting them if they fit well!

daholster · 07/03/2015 17:53

Thank you. I can't believe how much better I feel. 2 days of not doing much, the support of dh home and ds not lying on my guts wrong seems to have helped no end. I think the moral of the story is not overdoing it and stopping sooner if I don't feel right...

Dd is still asleep! Shock She'll never go to bed...

daholster · 07/03/2015 17:54

Ps I've been asleep for last 1hr 20 mins too! Dd has been sleeping for nearly THREE!!! What a zoo!!!

AnniaFausta · 07/03/2015 18:08

We've just spent the last hour or so trying to do the last of the shopping on-line, with moderate success - still one or two things to get hold of, not to mention the whole nursery still needing carpeting and furnishing, but definitely more on top of things than we were. I am now, however, in a filthy mood. Not helped by trying to sort out our water feature/fountain earlier this afternoon, which refused to cooperate and thus created a bit of tension which my hormones wouldn't let me process as anything other than personal. Bah, humbug, etc.

RL20 · 07/03/2015 18:11

Glad you feel better Daholster. Sometimes we need to give our bodies a break!

Skyra yes definitely makes sense as to why you need an Isofix base. If I still had my 3 door car I wouldn't even be questioning it!
I'm sure I will end up getting one.
We're going to have a look at some tomorrow.
RE bra fitting, I found M&S quite helpful (about 2 years ago) but I too hadn't heard great things but the lady was nice and the size seemed right. Although I don't think I actually ended up buying the bra from there! Confused I loved them but didn't really want to shell out the money at the time.

Hmm on the subject of bras, so far I've gone from a 34B/C to a 36D but feel like I've gone up another size now so in need of a new comfortable bra. Will have to have a look around this week. Isn't it weird that a bra is something you wear every day, yet I begrudge spending loads of money on one!? Perhaps it's because you can't actually see it from the outside, I don't know.
My boobs are quite heavy now (which I'm not used to at all, I liked my small boobs!) so I want something that feels like they're being properly held up, not just held in, if you know what I mean? Any recommendations?

BananaToast · 07/03/2015 18:15

Just caught up on today and yesterday's posts.

Rusty - wishing you lots of luck! So exciting but people going early do make me realise that it's a real possibility - I've been so convinced I'll be late I've hardly considered being early.

RL great news about the pipes, must be so nice to be back to hot water!

daholster sorry you've been having such a difficult time, I'm endlessly impressed with how you just get on with things!

I've put on 1st 8lb (about 10kg I think) at 33+5 - I expect I'll end up at 2st overall. Hoping it will come off fairly quickly with breastfeeding.

We have finished the last couple of bits that needing doing to the nursery today so it's pretty much ready to go - just need to clear out some things still being stored in the middle of the room.

Had two people ask me separately far along I am today and both looked surprised when I said I was due in just over 6 weeks. Apparently I am 'very neat' and 'tiny' - made me happy as I feel far from it at the moment! Still suffering from pelvic pain in my right bumcheek so starting to waddle a bit to making walking more comfortable.

skyra13 · 07/03/2015 18:21

I don't like to spend to much money on bras just for the simple fact its a lot of money for 1 item lol and gonna need sleep bras and things to not looking forward to my day out shopping Thursday so may have to stop for lunch to!!

mswibble · 07/03/2015 18:23

penguin I feel your pain! I'm just back from the Trafford Centre and baby fair at Event City. Its ridiculous how hard I found it waddling around and now I'm home I'm good for nothing, can barely move. I've realised that this is why its v wise to get all the shopping done before hitting 30+wks!
We bought the mattress and sheets for the crib plus a gorgeous mobile. Its all set up now, keep going into baby's room and just looking at it!
Mum was quite outraged when I said that bumpers aren't recommended anymore and I wouldnt be getting one! Couldn't quite remember why they weren't recommended so I think she thought I was being all PFB!

RL20 · 07/03/2015 18:30

Mswibble I can't shop for too long either, I'm sure a lot of us can't now! My belly starts to feel really hard and stiff after a bit of walking which makes my back ache.
Sounds lovely, as I've not yet got a nursery with being in the flat, I just kept looking at all of baby's clothes instead! Grin
With the cot bumpers it's to do with strangulation. I follow a page on Facebook called Justice For Preston about a little boy who passed away after suffocating after a bumper had came off (despite the ties still being firmly attached to the cot) so for that reason I just won't bother with them. There not a necessity and I want to be able to see baby in the cot when I first wake up, without looking over bumper etc.

Skyra yes I usually get my bras from Primark or asda! They have always been fine but just feel like I need something really comfortable at the minute. I've just been looking at the non wired ones online Shock I've never not had underwire, wondering if they still give much support?

mswibble · 07/03/2015 18:30

I'm dreading my bra fitting to be honest. I was a 36DD/E before ... Sad

Risking a total TMI moment here but I've noticed that I'm becoming extremely 'regular' and urgent! Each time its a lot loosed than usual. Hope this isn't my body clearing out for labour! I feel well in all other ways, no stomach ache or feeling sick, and my diet hasn't changed.

PenguinPoser · 07/03/2015 18:41

RL the bras I have got today feel really supportive and not underwired. The one I'm currently wearing (a plain non underwired soft one) isn't as supportive but it's the wrong size according to debenhams lady - band is too slack.
I don't think the debenhams prices were too bad - £28 for a pack of 2. Hoping I get plenty of wear from them though. Going to look in asda for some crop top type ones to sleep in.

Hmm mswibble pregnancy bowels are weird things! I'm the other way Sad never been so constipated! Probably need more water and fruit.

TheBooMonster · 07/03/2015 18:53

wibble if it helps I'm the same, also have a feeling in my abdomen that's half way between period cramps and the need to vomit :S it's been coming and going all day, along with back ache and braxton hicks (definitely not regular enough to be proper contractions)

Faithope · 07/03/2015 19:48

I get bad braxtons when I walk as well! I have the funniest walk now, good job I have my little ones buggy to push! I'm nervous going out on my own now. Both my labours were fast 4hours and 3/half hours. Mothercare have a sale on, bras are pretty cheap :)

Rusty gosh hope you're ok. 35+4 is good even if things do kick off. Glad you've had the steroids. Have they said what happens if contractions don't start - I guess they will wait a certain time but then will want to induce?

Whenever you do end up giving birth, do make sure you get IV antibiotics agains group b strep (should be given whenever waters go >12 hours before delivery but my friend was missed and her dd got it...)

TheBooMonster · 07/03/2015 20:15

squatting go for green curtains with a blackout lining, green is nice and nutural! or brown, we've got a teal brown dotty fabric that MiL is making curtains for the third bedroom with because they'll go with the nursery theme but not need replacing when I eventually get my own way and put the girls in the same room and finally get my guest room! Sounds like your husband was being incredibly unnecessarily mean, hopefully he's in a better mood when he gets back from his night out!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/03/2015 20:24

I'm similar BananaToast, most people tell me I'm all bump and are surprised I have 4 weeks left but I get the odd comment about me looking ready to pop!

I don't worry too much skyra13 but my boobs are knackered so have nothing to save really! I do think a good comfortable fit is important though.

I have had 2 already and never thought of putting anything in my bed for waters going either daholster Shock. Waters went at 4cm with ds1 and were broken at 8cm with ds2 and had no leaking.

Sorry you oh isn't being supportive about the wedding IveGotACaveTroll, totally understand why you wouldn't want to go.

I always used underwired nursing bras RL20, just make sure it's a good fit and you'll be fine.

Only when I run mswibble, I get to about 3 miles and always need the loo. Which is good as the rest of the time Im pretty bunged up :(

Sorry to hear that SquattinNeville! If you like it then try not to listen but I know it would upset me too. I had my hair cut Friday but it's just a lump off the bottom so no one noticed!

I've cleaned and build the cot today and started a bit of painting, Dh is giving me hassle about painting over the blue dss chose 9 years ago when we bought our house with grey (pebble shore), two walls are yellow that I painted over the blue with when ds2 was born. The cot was filthy, but very grateful for it as it was given to me Smile. Such a beautiful day today!

Cinnamon-room is starting to look good wow had to give it a good clean!

My midwife told me a true story the other day about a women about 30 years ago her water went and she didn't go to the hospital had no contractions and things so left it and she went into labour 10 days leter and the baby was very poorly and came out in the sack and was covered in green slime due to an infection getting up there as waters broke so they like to do inductions if waters have gone to prevent that! Midwife said she was very surprised that the baby survived! Shock shocking to think that can happen!

PenguinPoser · 07/03/2015 20:42

I can see what you mean Squatting and although you're right I would worry too. Sounds like he was unnecessarily mean today - sure your hair looks lovely! Pleased he has realised it though. Maybe talk to him about it all tomorrow, do you think he is stressed/anxious about baby as well?

Cinnamon looks like you've done a great job of cleaning up the cot it looks lovely.

Meant to say earlier about the wedding Ivegotacavetroll I can totally understand why you wouldn't want to go as well. And Boo of course you can't be at a wedding halfway across the country on your due date! We are (?)going to a wedding 2 weeks today - when I would have been 38w but now more likely to have a newborn. Bit worried about potentially going with tiny baby - but at least it's local to home and we can leave early if needed. Will see how we are getting on, when we found out about early induction we thought about dropping out but it's already confirmed and paid etc so will still try and make an appearance.
