We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Great to hear from you sarky - hope it's a sticky one! And that your sickness passes fairly soon.

Stressful day for me today - my DH was under General Anaesthetic this afternoon for a planned operation as a follow up to a massive op he had two years ago (basically, he needed his batteries changing...!). Cos the first op went wrong (he had a brain haemorrhage 24 hours after op), I can't help but get so stressed, even though I knew this one today was v straightforward.

I did do really well tbh - worked hard! But feeling extra tired from the day now I think (although that might have been DH's 5.45am breakfast before his nil by mouth at 6am!). Cosied up in hotel in Sheffield now and hoping to sleep off the stress...

Baby did lots of cute kicking this afternoon though, which was quite comforting!

smallgreenbanana · 26/02/2015 22:06

Not been keeping track but just weighed myself - think I've put on 8-10 lb at 21+1. Sounds horrific but I don't feel at all fat!

Bump is now maturing nicely. I've noticed I get round ligament pain just before a growth spurt so expecting another increase by the weekend!

Despite all the discomforts I'm feeling remarkably positive and happy. Smile

Nice to see you sarkymare. Hope everyone is doing OK despite various dramas. Thinking of you all fondly! Grin

jmojo · 26/02/2015 22:08

badideabear virtual hug to you too!! Sounds like a stressful day.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/02/2015 07:40

Morning

Had 20 week scan yesterday and everything was fine. We are having a baby boy! There was no mistaking it as he turned over several times and flashed the camera!! Grin

Very relieved to see that everything is ok, he had hiccups poor mite. Also got lovely photo of the impression of his feet, because he kicked me as she was looking.

Magical Smile

smallgreenbanana · 27/02/2015 07:57

That's really cute Lala Smile

Anyone else getting clumsy? This week I have spilt or dropped almost everything I've touched!

broodylicious · 27/02/2015 08:05

Thanks jmo xx

LaLaLaaaa · 27/02/2015 08:07

Just noticed your message broody - sorry for insensitive post! Hope you're ok x

Zampa · 27/02/2015 08:54

Number3 Don't worry about weight gain. People gain weight at different rates and your starting weight makes a difference. I put on 7lb in the first 3 months and have advanced another 5.5lb since, so 12.5lb in total at 21+1.

And weight gain is good! Underweight babies are not!

(That's not to say those who have only gained a little are at risk, as I said we all gain at different rates).

Good luck Sarky!

BadIdeaBear · 27/02/2015 09:21

Thanks jmojo

gluenotsoup · 27/02/2015 09:38

Morning! Congratulations to all those who have had their scans , it's lovely to hear of them all and really exciting.

I haven't posted for a bit as we have just been so busy , and I was so incredibly nervous about my 20 week scan , which was yesterday! All was well, and the consultant said she was completely happy. We had to have it done in the fetal medicine unit because of my history and dd s genetic condition, so the geneticist was involved earlier on too. I think it's just the knowledge that we have had bad news at scans in the past with dd 2 and having had 3 miscarriages the fear is always there. Anyway , the scan was really thorough and she pointed out everything ! All looks good , but the baby was so wriggly I couldn't always work out what I was seeing, it kept going in and out of focus so quickly that by the time I had worked out what it was it had gone again. Most of the time the consultant was trying to get the right image so kept having to freeze the screen on the image of the organs so we got good looks at the heart, brain, kidneys etc but not so many of the baby overall if that makes sense...Smile. We didn't want to find out the sex , a surprise will be great !

Broody , I think from this post you will gather that I understand exactly how you are feeling, so thinking of you. Just stay calm and positive and take care of your self until the scan because I know how easy it is for your imagination to run away with you and make the worry even worse.

20 plus 5 , no idea about my weight gain as we don't have any scales ! Might weigh myself at mums soon , but it all seems to be bump so far .

Number3cometome · 27/02/2015 10:21

Zampa thanks! I am calming down now.

Here is a pic of my bump - 19+5 today

Hi Sarky!!!

ohlordyplordy · 27/02/2015 12:15

JoY007 · 27/02/2015 13:29

Hello All - hope everyone is feeling good. Congrats to all those with scans and all the very best to those who are about to have one.

All the best [sarky] hope and pray this is a sticky one xx

I had my consultant appointment today, all is well. As I was leaving the hospital spotted a lady in labour with her bag, I found it refreshing and it made my day. Got me thinking that would be you soon Smile.

My weight gain is quite confusing, I use SI unit btw ~4kg, 21+5 today and here is my bump.

Finally finally got some maternity jeans from H&M phewww!

Only my second post on this thread I think, or at least not for a couple of weeks anyway! Last few weeks have flown by as busy at work due to the boss on holiday.

Hugs Broody hope you feel a bit better today. Plus hope you're having a less stressful day badidea. All the best to Sarky too.

Congrats on scans n sex's to all who's mentioned (so many cant remember all the names!) Lucky hope it's all going to get sorted soon and your new home at least gets you out of there for repeated post theft. But yes keep eye out on experian for a while yet.

Lostsouls hope your foof gets better soon after jmojo's advice, must remember that in case of future need!

Tinycaterpillar we must be due date buddies! Was 20wks on Thursday too.

Will do my update in another post so this is not a humongous post...

MrsFbabyNo1 · 27/02/2015 15:45

20+1 today!!! Happy halfway to me. ??

Had 20week scan today, all was just fine. It was lovely to have a tour of the baby, seeing all the various organs and being talked through it all. The boy bits had grown bigger so no change of sex to confuse us he's def a little man! Went shopping afterwards and brought a few clothes. Couldn't help it! But my friend has suitcases full of baby boy clothes she wants me to have / rummage through for what I want.

Had our Loft work all finished last week (took x2 men two full days not the one as planned, as it was bigger job than they expected once they ripped the old rubbish up)! So after a good clean in that room last Saturday, we've now set up and finished the nursery! It's just lovely, neutral teddy bears and very 'calming'. Roll on 20 more weeks??

Last Sunday morning (19+3) woke up and felt lots of movement, looked at my belly and it was all pointy one side. First time could see anything from outside!!! So called MrF who was downstairs making coffee to hurry up. Then in bed we could see the odd little pokes so he quickly felt and got to feel two strong kicks! Placenta is posteria confirmed today.

Have all the baby bathing stuff sorted now, all feeding and weaning stuff too. Now I've started buying baby toiletries, medicines, nappies and wipes with weekly food shopping!

Next plan of action for this afternoon is book a holiday!!!! Prob mid April, so looking forward to a sunshine break to just do not a lot! Last couple holiday eeeeek.

After that the big things left will be pushchair/travel system and car seats. Then reusable nappies n wipes will sort after baby is born (read it was better to just use disposables for first month while I might be recovering, learning being a first time mummy, trying to breastfeed etc without added worry of laundering nappies!).

Oh weight gain, don't know what I was at v start but from 8week booking to 20weeks I'm up 6.5lbs I think. Who knows what it'll be over next 20 weeks...

MrsFbabyNo1 · 27/02/2015 15:50

Oh and the tummy bump stroking has officially started, only x2 work people who I don't mind really, so far.

no randoms have attempted to touch my bump yet! Not sure what I'll do / say if that happens. Shock

Zampa · 27/02/2015 17:24

Everyone has better bumps than me! Jealous! Think my weight gain is all on my arse.

MrsF Just finished booking my holiday for April. 1 week in Tenerife! Whoop! Got my travel insurance through Insure and Go, who were lovely on the 'phone and answered all my questions about travelling whilst pregnant.

broodylicious · 27/02/2015 17:52

Thanks glue, really means a lot that I'm not totally alone and at least someone understands meSmile xx

Thanks also for the support mrsf xx

Zampa · 27/02/2015 18:03

Just arrived home to the first glimpse of the most awesome nursery ever. Absolutely delighted.

July 2015 - we are nearing the halfway point!
Stinkylinky · 27/02/2015 19:11

I absolutely love the wallpaper zampa

gluenotsoup · 27/02/2015 19:51

You are very welcome broody , if it helps and you want to pm me then the offer is there x

LostSoulsForever · 27/02/2015 19:55

Thanks for the tips jmojo. Have had to have some tests done to make sure there is nothing else going on as had it 3 times in 7 weeks. GP advised to be prepared that it might continue like this throughout the pregnancy! Bloody hope not! And thanks mrsf for the well wishes Smile.
broody hope you are getting plenty of support at the minute.
zampa love the wallpaper you have chosen!
We had 20 week scan today and all is well. Have an anterior placenta which explains why am not feeling much despite it being second baby. Also found out we are having a girl! Am scared of girls (I was an awful teenager and worried about karma), so it has come as a bit of a shock Wink.
Am 3lbs down on my pre-pregnancy weight but have no idea how? Sweet tooth has most definitely not gone away...

Naty1 · 27/02/2015 20:39

Lost souls i did also put my underwear on a hotter wash than usual. Though im not sure if canesten did get rid of it for me as i never had symptoms i couldnt tell.
I think a higher than usual body temp might make it worse.

BadIdeaBear · 27/02/2015 20:40

Nursery looks gorgeous zampa! nice choice of wallpapers.
I'm gonna be travelling to Malta on a work insurance policy, so have not much choice about it - I wasn't quite sure what/ if I should check things out - what sort of things did you ask?

Zampa · 28/02/2015 08:13

Thanks for the nursery love, guys! In case anyone wants to know, the paper is by Scion and the patterns are called Mr Fox and Little Fox.

badidea I asked the main 2 questions;

  • Would I get cancellation cover if told not to travel by doctors due to pregnancy between now and holiday date? (Yes)
  • Would medical costs and repatriation be covered if I had any pregnancy related issues or entered labour whilst on holiday? (Yes)

Basically, the policy covers me in full up to 32 weeks and I'm travelling at 29/30.
