We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Sad I cant eat bacon. Every time I try it makes me sick. I want to cry

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/02/2015 17:54

It's funny what you can and can't eat. The only meat I seem to have a hope of eating is bacon and ham, though not always. Thought I would try for a burger on Friday and chucked the whole lot up. All fun.

Can't give up tonic water right now - it feels like a G&T when I drink it and god, how I need one today.

What an afternoon I've had. Stress levels have risen sky high (poor baby) as the fraud and stolen post saga continues ...

Fraudsters have now stolen my credit card statement and ordered/ intercepted a new credit card only last week - so after we reported the fraud. They spent £3.5k on the card today.

The worrying thing is that the card and pin was sent to our address and therefore most likely intercepted in our building! According to the fraud team I just spoke to, this has been happening in other blocks of flats and the criminals most likely have a skeleton key for our boxes. Our lock has clearly been damaged and not by us, so it is proving difficult to open now.

I have reported to police, but they are not investigating this crime locally as it is a fraud incident - so the banks are apparently the victims not us and each act of fraud will be dealt with separately. Therefore no one is looking across the incidents of fraud and postal theft in our block of flats!

Just spent three hours on the phone going round in circles with all the different agencies, as no-one would take any leadership of investigating this crime and sorting out a solution....in the end I said a swear word which is very unlike me and started crying.

Now trying to calm down for baby's sake but upset this scum are still getting away with repeated fraud and nothing we can do about it. I have signed up to CIFAS which is supposed to protect me but hasn't so far...

Hope you've all had a better day :)

FourAndDone · 23/02/2015 18:13

Nat iv sent you a pm Smile

jmojo · 23/02/2015 18:15

Lucky Can you get your post boxes changed in your building by talking to the administration, or do it yourself? Just as an interim measure. Or add a lock to the one you have? Or put up a secret security camera to see if you can film who is doing it?

How awful that it is still ongoing.

Luckystar82 · 23/02/2015 18:30

Thanks Jmojo about the advice on steaming - I'm glad I didn't take any sinutab now! We can't really get the post box moved - they are in a big block fixed to wall unfortunately and management company said they can't be broken into cause they are really secure??! Well they definately are being broken into! Also management company has CCTV installed at our entrance - they have said the police can view it, but police don't want to know as fraud is a "national crime against banks" not a local police issue.

They already have all personal details so part of me feels resigned to letting them steal our post and banks will just have to foot the bill for the fraud. I am trying to be a good citizen and stop the fraud, but it is like banging my head against a brick wall.

So far my husband and I have lost 5 working days (unpaid) to sorting out this mess so has cost us financially.

Thanks for your support jmojo x

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/02/2015 19:08

Lucky that is an absolutely ridiculous situation, no wonder you are stressed. It seems unbelievable that no one will sort it out. I'm guessing personal mail is also at risk. Sounds like the management company need to step up and get the locks changed, as well as the police and their ridiculous policies of course.

Naty1 · 23/02/2015 20:31

I think your management company need to agree to put up camera facing the mailboxes.
As, if they are sure the boxes are secure then they shouldnt mind.
Could you ask to see footage or entrance yourselves.
I think police still do investigate fraud etc. and there is the point they may be stealing your other post too.
Maybe you could agree with banks to pick up any new cards at a branch and maybe statements too.
Or i would address change to your parents etc so that might i validate whatever they are trying to do (though i guess could affect your mortgage app)

jmojo · 23/02/2015 20:47

Team Pink!! All well on USS!!

Zampa · 24/02/2015 10:41

Lucky You poor, poor, thing.

I'm not sure I could add much to the practical advice already given other than suggesting a firm line with your management company. Your lease will obligate them to provide "quiet enjoyment" of your property and receiving your mail safely is a prerequisite to that.

Have you also raised the issue with Royal Mail? Tampering with the mail is illegal and they may assist? The number for Royal Mail is 08457 740 740. Apologies if you've already tried this.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 24/02/2015 10:42

Woo congrats jmojo!

Thepurplegiraffe · 24/02/2015 13:10

Congratulations jmojo, very exciting!

Luckystar82 · 25/02/2015 12:03

jmojo congratulations on your news - how exciting!

I've got my scan this afternoon so will find out whether a boy or girl today!!

Re: fraud and stolen post. Thanks Jmojo, Naty, purple giraffe, zampa for your sympathy and advice. All residents have got together and decided to ask the management company to remove the post boxes and ask Royal Mail to deliver to our front doors. It won't be popular as we don't have a lift, but don't see any other option! We are going to approach Royal mail about this as a group, so thanks for number. Naty I agree police should be investigating so we're having a residents meeting to work out how to get them to listen to us because individually we've had no luck. Fraud is dealt with nationally as it is a crime against banks not people apparently, but the criminal in our case is physically stealing from a location so they would have a good chance of catching them with old fashioned policing! Perhaps we could invite police to our meeting to explain.

I'm still using my maiden name so will close and open new bank accounts in married name once we move in a few weeks and erase my old stolen identity! Unfortunately not an option for husband, whose identity has also been compromised. We are just going to keep checking with Experian for unauthorised credit taken out in our name.

broodylicious · 25/02/2015 12:53

So pleased all your neighbours are in agreement, lucky, and that you've made some headway with the management company. Fx the police finally see sense and get you all protected from this happening again xx

jmojo · 25/02/2015 13:12

Lucky that sounds like a big step forward. Good luck with it!!

fattymcfatfat · 25/02/2015 13:22

my boobies are agony atm and I had a couple of wet patches in my bra last night Blush I think maybe because I need new bras they squeezed a bit of milk out (I know its not actually milk but its easier ti say and type!) bras are very tight, but ive no money Sad

Sherbet38 · 25/02/2015 17:19

Hi everyone

We had our 20 week scan yesterday and all is as it should be. Altho they struggled to get the heart measurements as baby wouldn't move until right at the end! Didn't find out the sex, will wait for a surprise Smile

We ordered our pram and car seat at the weekend, an Oyster 2 and Britax car seat. We ordered from a local independent retailer and they price matched the cheapest price i'd found online. So really pleased with that Smile

SparklyPenguin · 25/02/2015 17:42

We also had anomaly scan today- all seems well, and we found out it's a boy! My prediction was wrong but hey, we're happy either way.

jmojo · 25/02/2015 18:06

sparkley congrats on your boy
sherbet great news!!

Lewaney3 · 25/02/2015 22:15

Hi everyone.

Just checking into say congratulations to all those who found out sexes :)

Also wondering if anyone has suffered from inflammation of their cartilage? I've spent last night in a and e as I was in agony from my right shoulder. I've been told as I can't take anti inflammatory drugs such as ibruppfen. I have to try my best to put up with it and take paracetamol which does not even touch the pain! Having slowly come out of the depth of HG. This pain has really knocked me for six... Any advice welcomed.

LostSoulsForever · 26/02/2015 00:25

Hello everyone

Great news about the scans - congratulations to all who have had them Smile.
Lucky, I am shocked that the police have said they won't get involved as it is a crime against the banks. I thought stealing post was illegal?! And identity fraud surely has to be a crime against the person whose identity you have stolen for your own gain?! I hope you can, collectively, find a solution to the problem. What a horrible thing to have to deal with.
We have our scan on Friday which I am looking forward to, but anxious about also. Am also suffering from (what I think is the start of) SPD and recurring thrush. Nice.
Hope everyone else is doing well, it seems quiet on here at the minute...
