We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Hey fatty!

If it's any consolation I promise to regularly visit back here! Although will be requesting to join the Facebook group. Thanks for the help soap

jmojo · 06/04/2015 23:45

There are quite a few people on here who are not on FB. They just don't post that often I think. I still check this thread every day!

Lewaney3 · 07/04/2015 00:05

Same jmojo I like to check it while commuting to and from work. Keeps me sane!

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/04/2015 06:28

Still checking and posting here too! I think quite a few people do?

broodylicious · 07/04/2015 07:51

I post in both too!

Naturegirl82 · 07/04/2015 08:34

Me too just been a bit busy lately

Zampa · 07/04/2015 08:48

Also not on Facebook fatty. There aren't many of us! I deleted mine after moving to Manchester from London as didn't want to rely on it for keeping in touch with people. Love twitter and Mumsnet though!

smallgreenbanana · 07/04/2015 08:53

I'm still here and not on Facebook. Smile

After the sinusitis went away we had a lovely relaxing weekend. The warm sunny weather really helped and yesterday I felt rested, cheerful and active for the first time in weeks. Got lots done around the house and we made a big list of baby things to do/buy. Back to killer commute today though! Thinking about dropping out of my study module to spend more time preparing for the baby and less time tired and over worked... Haven't decided yet though.

Huffs123 · 07/04/2015 11:07

Hi guys, I've not checked in for a few months now. Just wanted to let people know everything is ok and the pregnancy is going well! We found out it's another little boy which I've just about got my head around! (DS is 14 months) I just can't wait for him to arrive now and to get on with being a family!

So it looks like everyone has moved to Facebook? I'm still a member of my first antenatal fb group and its very time consuming so not sure I want to commit to that again.

Zampa · 07/04/2015 11:30

Hi Huffs waves.

Is anyone else getting tummy aches? I'm off work today and can't work out if I have a bug or if lo is just battering my stomach. DP also poorly so thinking it's probably the former.

Fattycow · 07/04/2015 15:43

I'm glad to see some more traffic in here! This thread was started 2 months ago and we are still on it, so we definitely have been quieter than before.

zampa, I hope you don't have a bug and baby is just kicking your stomach today. In that case, you will feel a lot better as soon as the little tyke moves to kick something else!

Hi All

I've been trying to 'count the kicks' past couple of days. This is going to be fun and games, I can feel my anxiety levels creeping up already. Tempted to set alarms for every 2 hours Confused .... I'm 28 wks today by scan dates so now is the time according to midwife to start said activity. I recall one of you mentioning something about a pattern being established by baby around 32 wks ? I feel lo kicking at sides and low down more and have been having to lie down and concentrate/poke/prod the past couple of evenings ! Do you think lo could still be quite small to be monitored as such ? I think this could consume me, I never had to do it before !

Sorry for rambling. I also had my first experience of 'horror stories' yesterday, at soft play if you don't mind ! Was informed of various c-sects going wrong and stillbirths Sad I was Shock & Angry This after I told her I was flaming anxious ! I hope I haven't upset any of you by typing this I just couldn't believe it, I'd heard some people do this but never experienced it before. Blimming eejit !! It has likey contributed to me feeling more anxious re:counting the kicks Confused And Breathe :)

Sorry for long post, needed to share !

Fatty i'm not on FB either. I have noticed we have took longer to fill this thread too. My not to scientific theory is that it is due to us all being more at ease than we were at the beginning and quite relaxed (?!) before the arrivals Grin Then the fun will begin :)

Fattycow · 07/04/2015 17:05

I hope the pace picks up soon, I dislike it being so quiet in here!

Aretepetite · 07/04/2015 17:53

You could set up a FB page solely for joining the group there ? Though I remember you saying you dislike the layout.

heatherxo · 07/04/2015 18:11

Hey ladies, newbie here!
My little beauties -identical boys!- are due July 16, although baby B is now a beautiful angel.
Cant wait to finally meet my lovely little lad

Fattycow · 07/04/2015 18:29

Welcome heath! I'm sorry to hear you have lost one of your twins, but I do hope (and I'm sure he will) the remaining one will fill your life with joy. You can add yourself to the stats list if you want. The list can be accessed through the link in the first post.

Fattycow · 07/04/2015 18:30

arte, Facebook is just too much faff for me and I really dislike how posts jump all over the place. They don't stay nicely in chronological order of posting.

heatherxo · 07/04/2015 18:30

Thanks, will do:)

NotPennysBoat · 07/04/2015 19:32

I'm still here and not on FB! I thought maybe we were quieter because we don't have those scans to worry about any more, nor are we at the 'worrying about childbirth' stage yet!

I'm actually feeling really good at the moment, so nothing to write about! Except I was rather excited today to see on my app that I have 100 days to go (which means tomorrow I'll have 99!)! Woo hoo!

broodylicious · 07/04/2015 20:24

Welcome heatherSmile so sorry to hear about your twin. That must be so heartbreaking and worrying. Hopefully things from here on in will be happier for you. Many hugs xxx

I'm a Facebook addict! I think you're right in that maybe people just don't have tons to say or worry about just now.... Although our fb group is mega chatty, with discussions about everything to do with baby and mummy - from what essentials we want/advise, where we're getting furniture from, clothes we've bought baby, tips on good sales, all kinds of stuff really. I'm finding it really useful.

Fattycow · 07/04/2015 20:53

broody, that is what I miss so much in here, the general chat! Could you also please ask people to pop back in here and post here as well?

OP posts:
Zampa · 07/04/2015 21:35

I thought that this would happen, when the FB group was set up ... Sad. Not sure why we needed 2 groups but it's down to personal preference, I suppose and most people are on FB.

Sorry to hear about one of your twins heather. Hope that you are OK. Flowers

Lewaney3 · 07/04/2015 22:20

Hi ladies,

How are we all keeping?
arte it feels like I'm so behind you! I've just turned 24 weeks :) I have a midwife appointment so going to ask about the counting thing. They're both settling into a nice routine. Nice and early at 5am and nice and late at 11pm Hmm

So sorry to hear heather big hugs. Flowers

I posted on a thread about pregnancy buys so far. I was wondering has anyone else bought the tommetippee bottle prep machine? I don't know if I'm being the ideal first time mom being sucked into random items!

jmojo · 08/04/2015 01:01

artepetite try not to get too anxious about the kick thing. It is not an exact science, and you can get 10 kicks in less than a minute! It is more about feeling your baby move/wriggle when you expect it to. And if you don't know what that is yet start to write it down. You may see a pattern, remember the pattern (if there is one) and strength will change as the baby grows, then gets more cramped in there!. My little one is random in strength and quantity and has no set pattern, but it happens throughout the day in steady patches. Every baby is different.

Huffs123 · 08/04/2015 07:17

We bought the perfect prep when DH was 11 months as it was on offer somewhere. It gave him diorreah but I think that's because his system was so used to how we made his bottles beforehand. That aside, it is a marvellous thing and we bought it far too late! We will be using it from day 1 if this baby needs to be bottle fed. Making bottles is so time consuming, it really helps to make a big difference!
