Well done pug!

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 15:00

Well done Lady!! You should be proud of yourself!! Did you get a sticker Grin

Auntie ditto here now you say it!!

scatterbrainedlass · 09/03/2015 15:00

Well done Ladypug, proud of you!! There's hope for the rest of us :)

batfish · 09/03/2015 15:02

Well done ladypug you did so well!!

Congrats sleeping! Not sure on any nausea cures I'm afraid, I'm lucky that I'm not having any. My grandma was a midwife and apparently swore by eating plain biscuits (like rich tea) before you put your feet out of bed in the morning. Not sure how that would work for you if you don't eat sugar though - maybe try ginger tea?! Hope the nausea eases off soon for you!

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 09/03/2015 16:33

I've tried the bands sleeping think they helped a little bit but couldn't wear them all the time as too uncomfortable! Friend swears by them when she's pregnant though. Def worth a try!

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 16:47

Might have to try one of those bands!
Currently eating one of ds' rocket ice lollies, lush! Also got some sorbet earlier, wow instant relief! You've got to keep eating though as you'll just feel shite again if you stop!!

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 09/03/2015 16:50

I had a bowl of chips but feel properly sick now Sad

Cineraria · 09/03/2015 17:15

Well done, Lady, sounds like you were much better behaved than me at your appointment! At least it's over and done with now.

Congratulations Sleeping! I find oats fairly good for reducing the sickness. I normally eat sweet oaty biscuits but you might find savoury oatcakes helpful and easy to carry around and eat like the ginger biscuits. I haven't tried the nausea bands myself (I find the nausea bearable now I've got rid of the indigestion, which wasn't) but saw some really pretty ones online that were made of beads rather than the stretchy bands and they quite tempted me, especially as they'd be less likely to give the game away at work! I think they were called Queasy Beads.

I have updated the October 2015 Statistics Sheet with all the new people now, I think, but do all feel free to add/edit anything I've missed.

Ladypug · 09/03/2015 18:15

Thanks everyone :-) feel very chuffed. Welcome Sleeping and congrats! Re sickness, Fab ice lollies are helping me but it keeps coming back!

martinsgirl · 09/03/2015 18:50

Had my booking in appointment today, not particularly exciting but all went well.

Hope all you ladies with sickness and nausea feel better soon! My nausea has pretty much gone but I am so tired! 10min walk home from the station that I do everyday has become a real struggle. Anyone got any good tips for dealing with lack of energy?

spinningirl10 · 09/03/2015 18:55

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me popping in from the ttc busesSmile

Choccy, a little birdy told me you were here, I'm so thrilled to see you finally back on the boards. Congratulations and I have everything crossed that this is your sticky bean. How far along are you?

Wishing all of you healthy pregnancies Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 19:20

Sooooo good to hear from you!! How's things with you xxxx

raggymay · 09/03/2015 19:20

Hi sleepingontheschoolrun. I'm also 7 weeks with number 4. I honestly thought I'd be the only one on this number so it's nice to see others. How old are your older children? Wish I could help with the nausea but I'm still trying to cope myself. Mine eases off when I eat so I've put on loads of weight already. Hmm

spinningirl10 · 09/03/2015 19:31

Choccy, ahh it's so exciting, great to see you back. I mentioned you the other day on the March ttc bus as someone asked asked how Mama31 is. I'm ok thanks, still trying, cycle 22 now!!! Had all tests and I'm ok but dp hasn't got the best sperm so I'm stuffing him full of vitaminsSmile now I know you're back I shall keep an eye on here. Would love to see English back here with a sticky bean.

Taranta · 09/03/2015 19:39

I second rocket ice lollies choccy literally the only thing I can stomach this week apart from sherbet lemons...

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 20:06

Blimey spinning cycle 22 really?? Keep stuffing your dh with those vitamins! Hopefully they'll do wonders and get those boys working for you!
It's nice to hear we're all still thought of, we need our own thread!!
Yes I hope to see english back soon too :)
Keep me posted!!

sleepingontheschoolrun · 09/03/2015 20:27

Thx Cineraria! I LOVE oatcakes! I could make a whole one from the crumbs in the bottom of my handbag Grin. I'm going to google those beads and take a look.

raggymay, yay for big families!!! Ive got DS9, DD6 and DD2. WBU? Where abouts are you? I used to live in Hampshire where 3 kids was a large family. Now I live in Devon where 4 isn't a real shock and mini buses are parked on every other drive!

MrsEvansAlmost · 09/03/2015 20:41

hello!! sorry I've been lurking nothing to report apart from giving in and buying maternity trousers today.. I did the hair band trick and cried when I managed to pop a hair band off a button! scan date has finally come through, 2 weeks to wait and then I will hopefully see a happy healthy bean! found a bounty scan deal for £40 and had to resist jumping on the bed!! will be lurking until scan date as I assume I'll have nothing to report until then. I know I'm incredibly lucky to be symptomless after reading how some of you are suffering but I was hoping for something to be going on!!!

how on earth are you ladies with nausea / sickness managing your food shopping?

dragged dp round asda tonite which was all a bit pointless as i felt sick and couldnt think of any meal ideas and just walked around with a bork face hoping he had some ideas Confused

Toast85 · 09/03/2015 21:10

For the last week ive really wanted a mcdonalds quarter pounder with cheese. Like REALLY wanted one. Finally gave in this evenings and had one for tea on my way home. And now I feel sick. Sigh, life is not fair!

Ginger- I have been struggling with food shopping. Finding it easier to just get a couple of days worth at a time rather than a whole week. Tend to wander aimlessly round, feeling nauseous thinking about all the food, and suddenly having a 'brainwave' and turning round and going back 3 aisles to get something I might fancy. Only to get home and realise it hasn't helped and I still feel nauseous.

Another thing... Herbal tea. As I'm off caffeine, and lost my taste for tea a bit anyway, I started having some fruit or ginger teas. Then I read somewhere that both hibiscus and liquorice root teas could be bad in pregnancy - these are in my teas! However- nhs website advice doesn't give any specifics, only that it recommends no more than 4 cups or herbal or green tea a day. So I don't know of I should stop to be on the safe side or carry on as they're one of the main things I actually like at the moment!

gingerbreadmam · 09/03/2015 21:22

glad its not just me. when i think of the meals we have just bought the nausea steps up a gear hope it changes when comes to cooking them.

ive stayed of the herbal teas as i dont think there is any official research into them. i only used to drink green tea and peppermint occasionally. i think peppermint is probs fine but green tea does have caffeine in. its good for water retention and flushes me out but dont know if thats a good thing when pg.

MrsEvansAlmost · 09/03/2015 22:04

toast I've been having the same craving!! got one for lunch and felt sick after the last bite too much tomato sauce for my liking! the salty chips helped though!!

flipflump · 09/03/2015 22:06

Ginger, I can't face the food shop. I haven't eaten an evening meal for the past 10 days, DH shops, cooks and eats alone. I'm surviving on toast and biscuits Confused Looking forward to the 2nd trimester.

Cineraria · 09/03/2015 22:11

Food shopping is horrible, Ginger! Every time we go in a supermarket, I vomit as soon as we get back to the car. Walking around so much food really puts me off buying anything too. I noticed that I only seem to buy stuff I can't see through the packaging. Had to send DH round the fruit and veg aisles while I stood in the cat litter section for a break from all the food!

Toast, I was looking at herbal teas too. Every site seems to disagree about which are ok and which aren't. On the Pukka Teas site they seem to give an idea of how much liquorice tea is ok to consume. It's about halfway down this page. The research on hibiscus tea was more about whether it stopped implantation from what I can see too.

raggymay · 09/03/2015 22:42

sleeping I have a big gap between mine. Nearly 15, 11 and 1, all boys. I'm from the East mids, a village in Leicestershire where 2 is more the norm. I'm predicting a lot of shocked reactions when we announce this pregnancy. Are you having any early scans? I've got one booked for Saturday so I bet the week drags on forever.

Sorry to hear so many are really suffering. I hope all the nausea stops in the next trimester. Bloating and indigestion has kicked in in a big way for me. I can't even do my fat jeans up anymore.
