Welcome Paully and congrats!

Well the nausea here doesn't feel too bad now, but still there a bit in the afternoon and evening.
I've found mint imperials to be fabulous! I've eaten a ton tonight!!
Just putting it out there in case it helps someone!!

Taranta · 08/03/2015 19:59

Evening folks,

A glass of ice water and a dry cracker to you all, fellow sickies, not only have I got the day-long nausea but now twice daily vomiting to just add to the joy. The very day I reached 10 weeks just as I was thinking maybe I was on the home stretch but oh no, 10+3 and I'm sick as a dog, bleeurghhhhh.
Anyway, rant over. How are you all doing on the maternity wear stakes? I'm still managing to shoehorn myself into my normal clothes with just a few tops judiciously purchased from Sainsburys in the next size-up, but I feel it can't be long before my tummy pops out...
Can't amend the stats chart cineraria as I'm a Luddite but would like to add I'm in London and 41 so one of the oldies, or 'high risk' as the midwife comfortingly described it at booking in Hmm.

gaggiagirl · 08/03/2015 20:14

paully congratulations. I'm in the north east too. So is gingerbreadmam.

gingerbreadmam · 08/03/2015 20:21

hey paullyb from another north easter. reckon we share same due date too, officially by lmp mines 19th oct but im sure its 17th ha!

congrats and welcome.

Cineraria · 08/03/2015 23:56

Cheeky midwife, Taranta! Unless she meant living in London is high risk, maybe! Mine was saying that I'm supposed to see the consultant for the 16/18 weeks appointment due to problems in a previous pregnancy (The consultant had requested this in a letter on my file) but in order to book a consultant appointment, I'd need to be marked as high risk and she couldn't find any reason to do so as the same problem is unlikely occur again. I suggested that being 40 might be one but she insisted they don't count age in itself as high risk. The one last time said low risk too. Maybe it depends on the hospital.

I still have five or six outfits that fit although all but one are my summer clothes, which has attracted comments at work. Hopefully they will do for the next two weeks until I have my scan. The only things I've bought so far are low rise knickers and a couple of huge double G cup bras, which are already feeling a bit cramped.

Hi all
Haven't been on for ages, apologies! Got back from skiing holiday which was a disaster . Dd came out in chicken pox the day after we arrived! So 3.5 hrs of child free/skiing and lunch with hubby totally gone and a week holed up in a hotel room instead :(
Managed to get her home on the plane so such a relief! She had loads of baths in bi carb, creams, lotions etc and was all scabbed pretty quickly. Now the spots are 90% gone.
I still haven't got a scan date through and by my lmp I'm 12 wks on Thursday... Early scan put me 2 weeks behind but mw at booking appt said should be around 12 weeks. Hoping it comes through soon!
Symptoms still not really there , slight nausea when hungry( have been awake since 5 starving but to go downstairs would wake dd/dog etc!)
Shall catch up on thread ASAP x

ginzillas · 09/03/2015 09:31

grain, you poor thing with the nausea. It's horrendous isn't it? I'm really struggling with it. I'm being very moany with DH. Hope it improves for you soon.

Twinkletoes007 · 09/03/2015 11:00

Hi ladies

I'm after a bit of reassurance please. I had my hair cut yesterday and was the last appointment so they were tidying everything up, washing the floors etc. The place stank of bleach, was very poorly ventilated and I knew I should have said something at the time but I didn't. Overnight I've developed a sore throat, raspy breathing and feel very weak and dizzy. I'm going out of my mind with worry that it is because I inhaled bleach for more than an hour. I'm convinced that the baby is damaged now and can't get a grip. I have a scan tomorrow so I will discuss with the hospital then but I feel like this is all game over now and the damage is done. Xx

orangeshortbread · 09/03/2015 11:04

Hi all, haven't posted for a while but have been reading. Feeling a bit miserable with the nausea and morning/afternoon/evening sickness at the moment. Have ended up taking a day off work today and feeling awful about it - especially as I have not told them about the pregnancy but no doubt there will be some guessing now as I'm sure a few people will remember the sickness was bad last time with my first DD. Nothing tastes right but I do feel hungry. Sorry for the moan ladies, just feeling a bit low today!

orangeshortbread · 09/03/2015 11:06

twinkle you could ring your midwife for reassurance and see what they think about the bleach, just to be on the safe side.

Nutellalover14 · 09/03/2015 11:11

Hey ladies,

Anyone else getting bad gas or a lot of it? Am totally not used to it, and sitting at my desk secretly trumping away Blush
Got woken up last night with uncomfortable cramps too, which i think in the end were gas too (had to go to loo). Makes me feel rubbish, does anyone know i can help it? x

kezod · 09/03/2015 11:15

Hi ladies, haven't posted for a while either, I've had a lovely weekend away at a friends 30th (had to tell my two best friends as they sussed me the second I said I didn't want any wine!) I actually enjoyed being the sober sensible one and didn't miss it at all!
So glad your scans have all gone well ladies, bat especially as I have no symptoms either its given me a bit more courage!
I've had my initial MW app at 7wks, but need to go back for a longer one, just trying to arrange it between my shifts as I can't take any time off work and I don't want them to know yet! The MW seemed a bit miffed that I wasn't more accommodating for her but I'm sure we can work out a date that suits us both!
Just checked out the stats, there's loads of us!
twinkle I wouldn't worry too much its unlikely anything would be passed over to the baby. My GP told me they are the perfect parasite! Charming!

crazypuglady · 09/03/2015 11:16

Hi nutella I think there's a few of us suffering with wind given a conversation earlier in the thread. I'm finding it terrible. Im quite ladylike when it comes to bodily functions but I'm running out of excuses to leave the office or go upstairs!

Ca55andraMortmain · 09/03/2015 11:17

Sorry to everyone experiencing nausea, I feel your pain. Is anyone taking anything for it? I had to leave work after half an hour today. HT was not impressed and firmly told me that a doctor would never give me anything for it and that I should basically just suck it up. I phoned gp who told me that I needed to go to the midwife who hadn't picked up the phone after 5 calls this morning. Does anyone know how bad it has to be before they'll give you anything for it? Worried HT will be right and i'll just have to struggle on.

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 11:35

I didn't realise you could get something for nausea Ca55, I thought just sickness. Hope there is something because I feel like absolute shite today!! I've just been lying on the cold kitchen floor hoping it would help!
If rather just be sick and get it over with!! I thought it was easing off but has hit me again this morning after I came home from ds' swimming lesson. He's now gone to the GPs so dh had told me to just lie on the sofa watching films for the day,

Ca55andraMortmain · 09/03/2015 11:42

Oh choccy I'm being sick as well, around 10-15 times a day. Can understand you saying you'd rather just be sick, but this is like no sickness I've ever had before, being sick doesn't make me feel any better! What a lovely dh you have :)

Twinkletoes007 · 09/03/2015 11:44

Thanks for the reassurance. Not seen a midwife yet - appt was not until next week but managed to get one for this Thursday. Can't believe how stupid I have been and I'm going to be feeling so scared for the next however many months. Googling things is also not a good idea.

Sorry to everyone suffering with sickness and wind. This really is not a glamorous time in our lives is it! Am hoping it's all worth it! Ladies with one DC already please say it is??!!

Fellow vinegar obsessives - this craving has now been replaced with tomatoes.

orangeshortbread · 09/03/2015 11:50

oh yes twinkle it will be completely worth it without a doubt!

Choccywoccydodah · 09/03/2015 12:05

Twinkle TOTALLY worth it. I really Envy those pregnant with with their first dc, such an amazing unknown journey. Enjoy it :)
Being pg with dc2 is still amazing, I can't wait to be able to tell ds that he's going to be a big brother so that will be another chapter, but something about the whole unknown is just magical.

Omg Ca55 you poor poor thing, that's a LOT of sickness!!! Give them hell and make them give you something!!! You shouldn't have to put up with that!! I feel bad moaning now! Blush

Nutellalover14 · 09/03/2015 12:09

Am the same crazypuglady, am totally not used to it at all. Am not normally a very gasey person.

Haha choccy - mine haven't been to bad today, but they don't aways smell of roses Grin Blush

Adventuregame · 09/03/2015 12:14

Twinkle I'm sure it'll be fine. Somebody told me they're quite robust in there !!! Get lots of fresh air today if you can and drink loads of water !

Ladypug · 09/03/2015 14:30

Thanks everyone - I did it! It was much better than I thought although it was my idea of hell - small room, bed against the wall, no windows - argh! But I did it - 3 vials worth! And I didn't pass out (although I did gabble on about rubbish to keep my brain occupied) I feel really proud - thank you for all your support! Xx

gingerbreadmam · 09/03/2015 14:36

well done ladypug i know how you feel. all done now and you can relax.

sleepingontheschoolrun · 09/03/2015 14:45

Hi ladies!
Can I join in? I'm 7+1 with number 4! Feeling a bit queasy today. Has anyone tried the travel sickness bands for morning sickness? I don't eat sugar anymore so ginger nuts (my previous go to) are out Hmm.

Hope everyone is doing well and not suffering too much Grin.

AuntieDee · 09/03/2015 14:51

Well done LadyPug - I know it can't have been easy for you!

Does anyone else have the problem I am having? If I have nausea, my bum doesn't smell, if I don't have nausea it smells like something died down there!!
