cineraria yep the head is on the right, I can't believe it already looks like a baby! Scan at 5+5 was a tiny little 3mm dot and now it is 2.5cm and actually looks like a tiny little person! Next appt on 1st April for Downs Syndrome screening apparently, they're very keen!

Steph that's brilliant news about your scan, you must be so happy!

batfish · 07/03/2015 18:34

And yay to coolchic too for good scan, loving all this happy news!

Coolchic12 · 07/03/2015 18:44

You are very lucky Bat re lack of symptoms, nausea can be unbearable sometimes, worse in the mornings. I only feel better after being sick??

batfish · 07/03/2015 18:50

I definitely feel lucky now I know baby is OK, up until today I would have done anything for some nausea as reassurance as I was SO convinced that something had gone wrong.

Really hope that those of you who are suffering have an end to it soon.

AuntieDee · 08/03/2015 00:08

I went for a meal and kept it down - yay for me!!!

Anyone on here in Lancashire?

scatterbrainedlass · 08/03/2015 05:49

I'm from Lancashire :) Glad you kept a meal down, thankfully had no vomiting so far, must be awful :(

batfish · 08/03/2015 07:35

Yippee auntiedee - hopefully the first of many meals that you won't throw up!

ginzillas · 08/03/2015 08:55

Congrats to everyone who's had a positive scan. I have mine at the beginning of April.

I went to booking in on Friday. Had to take two year old DD as DH couldn't take time off. We were there four hours and it was so full on as she had a massive tantrum while I was having bloods taken. And for some reason our hospital does booking in as a group session with seven women/couples all together in a big room. I'd double checked beforehand that I could bring DD along and they said yes but as soon as we sat down in the silent room, I realised it wasn't going to work with DD being there. Little wriggle pants couldn't sit still for two mins and the midwife kept reminding her to be quiet. We left and thankfully another midwife booked me in separately in another room whilst Dd played. But the whole thing was quite stressful, especially as I just felt sick the whole time!

Is anyone else feeling super emotional? I've woken up feeling all weepy and sad. Hormones! Got to pull myself together and go and make a cake for Dh's birthday now!

Didn't mean this to be such a long post. Hope you all feel ok and enjoy the rest of the weekend...

Choccywoccydodah · 08/03/2015 09:50

gin glad you got to have a seperate booking in the end.
I remember a couple of you now saying they do this, I'd never heard of it before and wouldnt be happy going through personal information with a group of other ladies if I'm perfectly honest!

ginzillas · 08/03/2015 10:17

It was bizarre. I just felt sorry for the other mums to be who all looked a bit pissed off at a noisy toddler being on the room. I probably would have felt the same!

AnnaBegins · 08/03/2015 11:44

About the random June due date in the stats, think it must be an American poster who's written 10/06 rather than 06/10. I reckon someone should just change it for her as she may not realise. I have done the same thing with DOB on American forms!

Ladypug · 08/03/2015 12:27

Hi all,

Great to catch up on the thread and everyone's news!

First midwife appointment tomorrow and I feel terrified of having blood taken :-( #TheFear

Choccywoccydodah · 08/03/2015 13:09

Lady you wouldn't want to be me then! I've had my bloods drawn 4 times already up to 6 weeks, then again at 8, 10 and 12 weeks! They couldn't find a vein in either arm last week and had to go in the back of my hand. I feel like a druggy!!

crazypuglady · 08/03/2015 14:06

Oh wow bat that's a great picture. Can't believe how much it looks like a baby! Can you remind me how far you were when the scan was done please? Just trying to imagine what mine would look like Smile

Sorry to everyone still feeling nauseous. Mine seems to have mostly died off but I'm having trouble with reflux in the evenings now so had to bring our teatime forward. Anybody recommend any alternatives to gaviscon? It works but my god it tastes horrific!

batfish · 08/03/2015 14:48

crazypuglady that was at 9+1 - I was amazed too at how much it ia taking shape! At 5+5 all there was to see was a tiny 3mm sized dot so some serious growing going on!

crazypuglady · 08/03/2015 14:56

Does it feel real now batfish? Can't wait for our scan. Going to be another 4 weeks. I know I'm pregnant but don't think it will feel real until I see it on the screen.

Cineraria · 08/03/2015 15:24

Have you tried ranitidine for your acid, Crazy? The doctor recommended it to me and offered a prescription but it's easy to get in the supermarket. Ranitidine is the name of the substance and there are usually own brands as well as brands like Zantac. It works by reducing acid production rather than neutralising what is there so it's not as quick acting but it lasts 12 hours. It really helped my indigestion as I was getting it every time I ate or even drank water and I couldn't take Gaviscon as often as I needed.

Maybe you're right about the June date Anna although I don't remember her posting here, and was thinking if looking to see if she's on the June thread before changing it.

Good luck with the blood tomorrow, Lady. Tell them how you feel and ask them to go ahead but that you may need them to stop if you can't bear it. This way you won't feel out of control (I think you said that was a big part of the problem for you). When you know that they will stop if you say so, that can make it easier to go through with it.

Ladypug · 08/03/2015 16:41

Thanks Cineraria, that's really good advice x

Steph2310 · 08/03/2015 16:46

Ouch choccy! I can sympathise they tried the back of my hand twice at A&E the other day and ended up taking it from my wrist so now I'm covered in bruises Hmm trying to hide them from people at work as I have no idea how to explain them otherwise!

batfish · 08/03/2015 16:58

crazypuglady I'm still not sure it feels real but I'm a hell of a lot more relaxed that's for sure. Even looked on pinterest at nursery decor last night when I haven't dared think about anything before.

ladypug I hope the blood tests are OK, it must be awful to be so scared. Definitely tell them how you feel, they have numbing cream they can put on first so it might even be worth calling up beforehand in case you need to go in early to have that as it can take about 30 mins to take effect I think.

Grainwhole · 08/03/2015 18:32

Hi all, keep meaning to post again, but the nausea's kicked in so badly I can't see straight! So much harder with a toddler too. Grumble, grumble. Last time I had appalling all day nausea til 12 weeks, then all day throwing up til 20 weeks. I looked back and thought how ridiculous to prefer the being sick, but clearly I'd forgotten how bloody unremitting unproductive nausea can be! Ugh, moan, moan. Really hoping I'll escape with first tri only this time...

ginzillas that's ridiculous about expecting a two year old to sit through that, and well done for not losing the emotions when dd was 'reminded' to be quiet! That would push me over the edge on a good day! :)

PaullyB · 08/03/2015 18:47

Hello everyone, can I join? Am a little late in posting but it has taken some time to catch up on threads. I am due on Oct 17th. I have a 20 month old ds and live in the North East. Sickness and exhaustion continues to be horrendous but feeling reassured after reading your posts.

Ladypug · 08/03/2015 19:29

Wow thanks Batfish I would feel so much better if I couldn't feel it going in. I know I sound like a proper wuss but honestly, I'm losing sleep, it's sending me over the edge! Thank you :-) x

crazypuglady · 08/03/2015 19:31

No Cineraria not tried ranitidine yet. I was in a rush so went to the local one stop and they only had bottles of gaviscon. I'll pop down to the chemist in the morning and see what they have, thanks.

That's great batfish Smile

Well we got well and truly busted by a member of the extended family looking at nursery furniture in Dunelm today. Oooops! No denying that one. She's been sworn to secrecy.

Cineraria · 08/03/2015 19:35

Congratulations, Paully! I hope both you and Grain get some relief from the nausea/exhaustion too. Coping with a toddler when you're feeling like this must be really difficult.
