I have told everybody, I can't help myself, I'm too excited to keep my trap shut, although it probably is the sensible thing to do.

lookslike I saw my GP about my son having Slapped Cheek this morning and he was exactly as useless as I feared he might be. He first told me it was no problem and wouldn't do any harm, when I told him what I knew he asked me 'who told you all that rubbish?'. Really. when I pointed out that it was on the NHS website, he became shifty and instead of sending me for blood tests, he's sending a letter referring me for a scan. He's an idiot. I have to ring the midwife at the surgery later and see if she can refer me for bloods instead.

I am so glad the internet was invented and I was armed with information when I went in there, otherwise I'd be blissfully unaware of the dangers and could have lost my baby as a result. I know it's unlikely, that I'm probably immune anyway, but it gets on my nerves that I had to argue to be taken seriously. Here's hoping for more luck with the midwife.

MrsEvansAlmost · 16/02/2015 10:24

Rhiannon sounds pretty much identical to my experience of it! Really is shocking how useless they can be, considering the risks.

I would take the scan and the bloods, but bloods at this stage so much more important.

Fingers crossed you get what you need. Hopefully he'll be more informed for the next patient Hmm.

crazypuglady · 16/02/2015 11:34

Yup, milky white CM here too in abundance Hmm

MrsEvansAlmost · 16/02/2015 12:04

Another thread already!

Glad everything is ok Lake hopefully now work know they won't be making you do more of the heavy duty work. I hope it all settles down for you.

Anyone else feeling really rough? In exhausted and constantly nauseous. Add in hormones and I've been a bit of a mess and wondering how on earth I'll cope.

I'm off work sick today but due to other family commitments it looks like I'll be unable to continue working at the moment.

Anyway, I got my booking I appointment for the 10th march today, scan date will be organised at that appointment.

Hope everyone else keeps well Flowers

bluewisteria · 16/02/2015 14:40

Can anyone point me in the direction of the due date website that was posted on the lady thread, please? It looked really good but I can't find it Confused

bluewisteria · 16/02/2015 14:41

Lady thread?! Last thread... Oh woe is my brain!

MrsEvansAlmost · 16/02/2015 15:02

very naughty and nosey of me but mum asked me to fix her phone as the screen froze when texting. read a convo from her and my sis saying I'm stupid for having the baby now, shouldn't get a puppy ( the puppy was planned the baby not so much just yet!)

and getting on her high horse because 'at least I was married before having Archie'
the next time I see her is at a family party where everyone will be asking questions about me being pregnant anyway and most of them will be negative because 'I'm too young' 23... debating on saying I'm sick and not going to the party at all!

Thanks so much box!! Flowers

alien11 · 16/02/2015 15:43

Hi all, found the thread :)
I'm not feeling pregnant at all today. Supposedly 6 weeks 6 days today. No icky feeling or anything, oh well, no idea when my next scan is, 2 weeks until, booking in appt .
Also keep focusing on the fact that baby was measuring practically 2 weeks behind the predicted edd by lmp.
Already nervous for the 12 we scan as scared baby has stopped growing. Wish I had the spare pennies to do another scan around 10 weeks!

bluewisteria · 16/02/2015 16:14

Hi alien,
I'm sorry you are worried. It might be that the epu/nhs would give you a free scan in the basis of the private one, so it could be worth calling them if you can self refer or speaking to your gp?

alien11 · 16/02/2015 16:17

I had one at 5 weeks 6 days when I thought I was 7 weeks. Blob was there with a heartbeat. That was through the nhs.

FluffinWithMyMuffin · 16/02/2015 16:34

Hello, DIO-ers! I've just had a BFP (okay, four BFPs. I like to be thorough, 'kay? Blush so I'm hoping to jump aboard the October bus if that's okay? Smile

bluewisteria · 16/02/2015 16:34

Ok I understand now. My epu in London used to give scans if mothers were really very worried. You might be able to get one on the basis that the dates are different?

alien11 · 16/02/2015 16:48

blue I have to get referee by a gp again so that's a chore. Sonographer said seemed to be normal to her. I'll just hold out until 12 weeks . I didn't have early scan with dd so can do it, also if it's not meant to be it's not meant to be so will just have to accept it. I think it's the long wait to actually get to the 12 wk scan that's really grinding on me. Last time I was awaiting I was working full time teaching and barely had a spare second, now im a stay at home mum I often sit here pondering ! Sorry for the me, me,me post.
fluffin hi! Welcome aboard :) congratulations!

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 16:49

hey havent had chance to read the full threas but wanted to get back on it.

just a quicky, anyone 5 weeks or remember 5 weeks? i dont have many symptoms at all when do they kick in?

for some silly reason i expect to feel ill all day and as i dont i get a little worried.

symptoms i do have, but not all day everyday:
being completely shattered by about 1.00pm
general aches and pains where they should be i guess
sharp stabbing pain in boob yesterday
bad mood swings yesterday
dead hips in the night, like a dead leg but my hip.

i jus thought i would feel pregnant all the time and i dont. i know im probs being ridiculous the baby is the size of a peppercorn ffs lol! reassurance still needed tho Grin

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 16/02/2015 17:06

Welcome aboard Fluffin Smile

Ginger I'm 5 weeks today and have been feeling a bit paranoid as nausea seems to be easing off. With my first I had nothing really until 6 weeks ish when the nausea came. Am hoping it's buggered off for good for this pregnancy!

But no, have symptoms here and there but nothing major. Hope that's given you some reassurance (or made me worry too Grin)

bluewisteria · 16/02/2015 17:07

alien don't be silly, we will all have times of needing more reassurance. You sound as if you have your head firmly screwed on though!

I'm thumb twiddling too! Took a preg test and it was totally negative so I imagine it is another chemical pregnancy/early mc. I'll give it 2 days and if I haven't started bleeding then I'll test again.

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 17:28

aww thanks stuck i know im being silly. had mmc nov / dec last year, didnt even know i was pregnant at this stage then so dont know why im worrying but you do dont you. thanks for the reassurance.

anyone been out looking at baby things? ive actually bought a babygrow set and cardigan and been in various baby shops last two days. last time i didnt and was gutted i hadnt had chance to experience the fun exciting side of being pregnant so im making the most of it this time.

its overwhelming all the things you can buy. i saw this graco thing today tht looked like a coss between a moses basket and a bouncy chair.

i know noone will have done this but if you have i would be interested to know where youre thinking baby will sleep and are there any prams that have caught your eye Grin

Cineraria · 16/02/2015 17:31

Sorry to hear that Blue. Is it a different brand of test from the last one though? Hopefully it might just be a bit less sensitive and not have picked up the hormones yet.

Welcome Fluffin!

My symptoms didn't start that early, Ginger, not until about 6 weeks, so don't worry too much. It sounds like you have a few, anyway.

DontWorryBaby · 16/02/2015 17:34

Hi ladies, short lived ride aboard the October bus for me. Something made me test again this morning after two positives on Friday and got two negatives then started bleeding today. Chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage. Could someone take me off the stats please as I haven't worked out how to edit that list yet.

Good luck to everyone else, wishing you healthy pregnancies. Xx

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 16/02/2015 17:35

Of course you are worried, especially given your past experience. I'm worried too as my sister has really suffered in the last year (2mc and 1 ectopic). Just waiting for it to happen to me really.

I'm thinking about one of those bed nest type Moses basket thingies as the last one we had was a wicker one from when I was a baby and the creaking drove me nuts! DS was only in with us for three months so will just see how we go with this one!

Pram already selected and eBay search saved Blush Probably shouldn't have but sister didn't do it and she still had all the trouble she did so figure if something's going to happen there is very little I can do about it. Plus I'm a control freak and like to have a plan!!
