i dont have any other dc falling but do have a 3 year old dniece who does still occasionally go in a buggy. also a friend whos ds is 2 in april and she still uses pushchair for him and envisages she will for at least another year altho she does walk a fair distance most days.

just watched a video of the baby jogger versa. it does look really good i love how it folds. watched video of the one i like too which looks a bit clumpier. need so see in real life i think.

glad to hear people who have had hardly any or no symptoms. as mmc was so recent feel like im constantly comparing to last time. thanks so much for sharing.

MrsEvansAlmost · 16/02/2015 20:21

sorry don't know why it posted twice!

ginger um its an odd name. Hauck trio shopper. I only bought it because I know I can sell.it if bean doesn't stick and I don't want to spend silky money on anything other than a car seat!

baby sorry to hear you're out Flowers

ginger I only started to feel rough a few days ago, around 7 weeks. Before then, I felt hungry and tired but couldn't really tell if it was worse than normal or just me imagining it!

The only thing I'm looking at buying is another work dress in the next size up. Felt like I was bursting out of the seams of my one today, and I've still got 4 weeks to go before I want to tell work. I think I've got 3 that are loose enough to last, so another one might just get me through.

AnnaBegins · 16/02/2015 20:56

I only started feeling nauseous yesterday and no proper sickness yet, and I'm 7+4 (or 8+4 according to gp).

Went to parents' last night and as I walked through the door mum said, "I'm making cocktails!" Made up a flimsy excuse about driving but as we were in DH's car not sure it washed... They're such big drinkers! However I have a cunning plan to give up alcohol for lent Grin (also why did my iPad autocorrect lent to Kent?!)

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 20:57

town i bought some m and s jersey trousers fr work last week to cover bloating and keep it discreet until after scan.

yes mrse that sounds like a good plan ill have a nosey online at it i love looking at prams ha.

my dm is desperate for me to purchase a nightgown for the baby as i would have had in the 80s they are a nightmare to find though. i have found something similar called a baby bundler altho not quite the same and even still hard to track down without spending a fortune. they actually sound good so wouldnt mind a couple.

Ymamiss · 16/02/2015 21:23

I'm 5 +3 and time is going soooooo slowly! My boobs are quite sore, I feel bloated, and sometimes nauseous when I'm hungry, but that's it! I just want the next 7 or so weeks to fly so that I can have that oh so reassuring scan! First baby, and first grandchild for my parents so major excitement all round. Just hoping everything goes ok!

Bambino29 · 16/02/2015 21:26

Room for another one? Found out last week that I'm pregnant with my second baby (am now 5 + 3 weeks) after nearly a year of ttc - exciting and terrifying all at the same time! Am weirdly looking forward to getting a bit of morning sickness as found it oddly reassuring last time. Feels very unreal at this sage when we haven't told many people and the only symptom I have is tiredness!

toast - know lots of others have reassured you too but thought I'd add my penny's worth - with my first I bled quite a bit at about six weeks and had a scan which revealed a small hematoma. Totally harmless and very common apparently. Hope all goes smoothly from here on in.

Ginger - we found the Sleepyhead a complete Godsend with our last. It's a sleeping pod which you can put in a cot/your bed/wherever and everyone I know who's used it raves about it.

:)

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 21:37

oh i just saw something about a sleepyhead on another thread yesterday. do you not need a moses basket / crib with one of those then? if baby was sleeping downstairs did i read right that you can just rest it on the sofa or something?

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 21:38

oh and congrats and to all the other recent bfps

Bambino29 · 16/02/2015 21:45

We put ours in the cot when at home but it's very portable - used to take it everywhere. Used it in a hotel room floor, friend's sofas/beds, etc. It's so easy as a first time mum to be convinced that you need all sorts of weird and wonderful things (we have a cupboard full of virtually unused 'absolutely essential' baby things!) but the sleepyhead was the one of the few things I'm glad we forked out for.

gingerbreadmam · 16/02/2015 21:59

i was wondering if u could use it on the floor. u noticed it was quite pricey especially if you wanted a co sleeper or crib too. is the idea that they just go straight in the cot but this makes them more secure or something?

sounds silly but im assuming the idea of a moses basket is u carry baby upstairs in it when sleeping, can you do that with this?

im glad i found mumsnet as i am the type that will easily be swayed by things and i really dont want to get sucked in ha.

Toast85 · 17/02/2015 07:16

Thanks for the advice, it's not really come to anything just a slight brown tinge when I wipe. Not even enough to show on a liner apart from once yesterday afternoon. So I'm not going to panic just yet but will mention it to GP on thurs. Good to hear some reassurance Smile

EssexWelsh · 17/02/2015 07:58

I lost you after last thread ended...I'm off to catch up! Staying with my parents so they have DS1 while I lie in bed feeling very nauseous! Been feeling sick for a few weeks but yesterday it turned to full blown hangover feeling and today feels similar, yuck! But yay to symptoms Sad

alien11 · 17/02/2015 08:13

Feeling rubbish morning :( DD to entertain until bedtime, dog needs to be walked too. Arrrggghhh I need to be in bed as can barely keep my eyes open!

Brambles34 · 17/02/2015 08:29

Morning ladies, I hope all is well. Quick question for those of you that have had your booking in appointment with the MW. (It's baby # 2 if that makes a difference) how long did it take? I vaguely remember having to take my husband last time but do I need to if its my second? Thanks xx

FluffinWithMyMuffin · 17/02/2015 08:34

Sorry to hear your news, Don'tWorry

Ginger I'm only 4+, but with my other 3 DCs the only real, constant symptom I had was total exhaustion. Stabbing pains in my boobs came and went, I didn't have copious amounts of CM and my sickness was limited to just feeling nauseous. This pregnancy is going the same way. Oh - and the bloating. I couldn't get my jeans fastened yesterday !

Thanks for the welcome, everyone Grin I was stunned to phone the maternity department yesterday and be given a date for my first MW appointment AND my scan! Such a long way off though, I can feel the impatience building already

minijoeyjojo · 17/02/2015 08:41

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say that I'm another one who hasn't has many symptoms, I'm 7 + 2 and was worrying yesterday as I've not really had any nausea. Did another test (CB digi) to check I was 3+ weeks and wasn't imagining the whole pregnancy thing. Also my mum reassured me by telling me that she never got sick.

Only symptoms are sore boobs, exhaustion and now nose bleeds (never had one before yesterday!)

Just willing away the weeks until the 12 weeks scan! My midwife is away until 10 march so I have no idea when the scan will be booked in :/

gingerbreadmam · 17/02/2015 08:52

thanks everyone.

sorry to all those feeling a bit bleurgh this morning. im sure thats a lot worse than worrying about no symptoms. poor things!

oh i had nosebleeds last time weird symptom that one. im glad im not alone on the symptom front just keep thinking am i ha even tho i know after about 20 tests yes i am!

batfish · 17/02/2015 10:15

I'm having a little totally unfounded panic today that things are not OK! No pain or bleeding but I was sure my boobs were less sore this morning which is a ridiculous thing ti base my concerns on I know. I am so lucky that I had a scan last week for reassurance but now I already don't know how I am going to make it to the next one without being absolutely convinced it's all gone wrong! I googled for reassurance and really shouldn't have because just found loads of stories of people who found out their baby had died and they had no idea and were still having pregnancy symptoms - I at least had been thinking that everything must be OK as I would know if it wasn't but apparently not!! Oh dear get me to 12 weeks, feel like I've been pregnant for soooooo long and have only known for 3 weeks!

gingerbreadmam · 17/02/2015 11:04

if it helps batfish the day before my mmc was discovered at 9wks i had the worst pregnancy symptoms ever so i wouldnt worry too much about symptoms indicating that things are bad as i dont think they do.

hope that gives you a but of comfort. i should take ny own advice too and stop worrying about no symtoms.

batfish · 17/02/2015 11:24

Ahh thanks ginger but honestly I'm not sure I will ever feel totally reassured! My best friend had 3 miscarriages so I think I have her anxiety. It seems that there can be people with loads if symptoms who are fine and others who are not OK - and also people with no symptoms who are either fine or they're not. So yes we should stop worrying about no symptoms and just try to relax and assume that all is going well in there!

A friend who I have told just asked me how me and baby are and I replied referring to me and baby as 'we' - awwwww!

Toast85 · 17/02/2015 13:08

I feel the same- worrying as the initial symptoms seem to have lessened a little, but still there. Possibly putting it down to my body getting used to the initial hormone changes and just settling in. I POAS this morning- still very much pg according to that. Toying with the idea of doing another digi to see how many weeks it says- but I've heard they're not always that accurate and I don't want to scare myself. I'm just going on the fact that there's no indication that I'm NOT pg anymore! And PMA that I WILL be in the majority that end up with a healthy baby at the end of it!

lalalemon · 17/02/2015 14:07

So when do you all plan on telling family and work the good news?!

I ask because had to tell one of the managers today, I was meant to go on a trip to a farm with a group of children but apparently contact with lambs can cause miscarriage so she had to ask those of us that we're going if we were pregnant. Obviously didn't want to put my little Spud at any kind of risk so I told her quietly and she said she'd just say she wanted to keep me at work instead of going on the trip and she wouldn't tell the big boss as not her place. Bit gutted that I had to tell her first but have to keep baby safe!

We plan on telling our parents on Mother's Day, thought it would be quite special! Going to give one Mum a knitting for babies book and the other a sewing for babies book as a gift! Might do a little afternoon tea or something like that! I shall be 8 weeks by then!

batfish · 17/02/2015 14:10

That's exactly how I am trying to force myself to think toast - the majority of people have a successful pregnancy right from the start and we haven't had any indication that we won't be in that majority. I just feel like I know so many people that have had problems that I find it hard to believe. But let's try to be positive!

batfish · 17/02/2015 14:14

lala we have told parents already - we live abroad and they arrived on Thurs to stay with us and so we had to tell them as they would guess the second I said I wasn't drinking. And with living in another country I never thought I would get the opportunity to tell them face to face. And because we were telling my parents we had to tell the in laws and our sisters so we told them on skype the day before my mum and dad arrived.

With work I don't plan to tell them until at least 12 weeks, depends when I start to show I suppose. I have only worked here for 7 months but I think they will be OK. I hope so anyway!
