Do -nothing!

gingerbreadmam · 18/02/2015 07:52

alien im all conufused about the vitamin side of things. a nurse practitioner and dr i spoke to both jus said take folic acid as i had rang for advice in vitamin d, pregnancy vits and iron as i was still borderline anaemic after complications with mmc.

going to check it all with mw at booking in.

if u do decide to try the vitamins savers do some for either 2 or 3 quid with the exact same ingredients as pregnacare.

my boobs are a bit more tender and i have weird sleep things going on Shock

u know when u jump in ur sleep, that does happen to me occasionally. well now its every single night just as im dosing off. also get dead hip / leg throughout the night that wakes me up if needing a wee doesnt lol.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 18/02/2015 08:05

I take the Sanatogen Mum To Be ones. I think Pregnacare is a massive rip off but I def need to take something as I'm veggie so normally take multi vitamins anyway.

Think you can take normal ones but they don't have enough folic acid in so just figured I'd get the Sanatogen because they were on three for two.

Feel all achey this morning. Bit like AF is on it's way. No spotting or anything though so fingers crossed it's just usual aches.

hideandsqueak · 18/02/2015 08:09

Is anyone else still breastfeeding? I haven't had sore breasts yet. Was thinking it could be cos of that. Last time they were so sore I couldn't turn over in bed!

raggymay · 18/02/2015 08:24

I take pregnacare and also took pregnacare conception and pregnacare breastfeeding last year. They are doing well out of me. You don't need to take them though, folic acid is enough. Search on Amazon and use Subscribe and Save (you can cancel it a few days after your first delivery and still get the discount.)
I've had cramps at night for the last two days but they ease after a few hours so I'm hoping its normal. Also noticed I'm more aware of my boobs today but wouldn't say they are sore yet.
4+3 ish

gingerbreadmam · 18/02/2015 08:26

because of a higher bmi i have folic acid prescribed from drs.

for any first timers if your bmi is around the mid 30s i think it is might be worth speaking to gp as it is recommended we take 5mg of folic acid which u cant buy.

gaggiagirl · 18/02/2015 08:56

alien I take pregnacare. Only because DP bought it instead of folic acid. I suspect he asked someone in boots what to buy.

Fallinggracefully · 18/02/2015 09:05

Hide I stopped BF about 3 months ago but can still squeeze a bit if milk out ( dsirry if tmi!) and have not had sore boobs yet this pregnancy. I hope that is why, trying not to be paranoid about lack if symptoms but it's hard!

Fizzy13 · 18/02/2015 09:27

Flowers for those feeling terrible today (for whatever reason)
I had to tell people at work as I've already had a few days off work and still can't make it in on time. They've been really supportive.
Made my booking appointment for next Thursday. The first question they asked me on the phone was where do you want to give birth! As a first timer I don't even know what the options are, let alone whats best for me.
There are so many things I know nothing about! Call me pessimistic but still feeling the need to wait for the scan before I start research on everything though.

Bambino29 · 18/02/2015 09:32

According to a friend who's a nutritionist, pregnacare is borderline useless as it's all synthetic so isn't very bioavailable. She recommended going for 'source of life prenatal' as all their vitamins/minerals etc are food extracts. Bit more expensive - I got them from Amazon.

hideandsqueak · 18/02/2015 10:00

Fallinggracefully hopefully it is connected! Also I wonder if you have less breasts changes the second time? I didn't get any symptoms until 7 weeks last time...

MrsEvansAlmost · 18/02/2015 10:04

oh bugger I take pregnacare!

I know a few of is had a few strange dreams a little while ago but I think last nights tops all of my odd ones!

I dreamt I was in primark and my boobs started leaking?! what the?? I've stopped telling dp my dreams he thinks I'm bad enough as it is!!

SecretlyobsessedbyLego · 18/02/2015 11:47

Hi can I join in? Smile

Currently 4+5 or 5 weeks (not sure as not sure length of cycle) Due around 21/23rd October according to Ovia app. 2nd child, already have a 3 yr old boy who starts school in September Sad. Midwife app booked on 16th March, feels an eternity away. Currently in hiding from my friends as not to give away our secret. Last time we told parents and our best friends but this time we are going to try our hardest to keep it a secret until after the 12 wk scan.

In all honesty I'm scared stiff about miscarriage, genetic abnormalities, doing something wrong, funny pains and twinges etc.....I'm a natural worrier anyway. I was worried about conceiving but that happened straight away. If there's something to worry about I'll be the one in a fluster about it already! Blush. DH wants to test for abnormalities, deep down I know I do too as I don't think we'd cope well if there was something not quite 100%, but then feel guilty for considering other options.

Currently taking Pregnancare as was taking Folic Acid whilst trying but had these recommended to me and they're 3 for 2 at Sainsburys at the moment.

Any good pregnancy apps anyone recommends?
Anyone else as bonkers as I am and worrying about the littlest of things?

Mumwannabe82 hope the scan goes ok today
Fizzy13 that's early for them to ask you that?! As if your heads not a pickled already without considering what you want to do in 9 months time!
gingerbreadmam Hi! Recognise you from another thread when we were TTC Smile Congrats on pregnancy too!

xx

gingerbreadmam · 18/02/2015 11:57

thanks secretly and you too.

think its natural to worry this early on when they are no obvious signs.

i only have the ovia pregnancy app at the min. joined lots of baby clubs tho for freebies ha!

SecretlyobsessedbyLego · 18/02/2015 12:15

Oooh yes, I'll have to rejoin all of those again ginger

Can recommend Gurgle Magazine to everyone. Really found this a great read and good resource too. Recently purchased a subscription for a friend who has a newborn as she loves it too.
