Mummy I love the names Aoife and Niamh! I would love Niamh but DP and his family are dyslexic and I don't think he could ever get his head around it, unless we spelled it Neev! Haha

StrawberryCheese · 15/02/2015 20:24

We haven't starting discussing names yet but I'm Welsh and DH is Scottish so we will have plenty of options to consider no doubt Smile

NatalieBee · 15/02/2015 20:34

Treacle I got one from mothercare yesterday! Best purchase ever I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and struggling to sleep! Its so so comfortable when I can wrestle it away from my DH Smile.

Treacle, I had a dreamgenii and to be honest I wasn't a massive fan - hard to turn over without sitting up to rearrange because it goes underneath you. I'll drag it out of the loft again as it wasn't terrible, but am secretly half hoping in my baby fug I didn't bother packing it up properly and will need to get a different one Grin

Treaclepie19 · 15/02/2015 20:51

Oo thank you! I'm wondering whether to get a 'u' shaped pillow.

Suffering with bad wind pains tonight :(

I have a u shaped pillow from my last pregnancy - I found it useful during pregancy and helpful for feeding afterwards. Not too big.

Mummytogoldie · 15/02/2015 21:00

I have a v pillow that I used in my last pregnancy and have been using in this one, I can't sleep without it. It was also a god send after my c section as the ward were to busy to pass dd to me every time she wanted feeding or changing so she actually slept in the bad next to me in the v pillow x

Sebs a small wedding will be lovely. My sister eloped to Cornwall in Nov. She'd been with her chap 8 yrs and we knew they'd get married. It was very romantic and she looked beautiful. They phoned that night to tell us. Although it was just them I think you can have up to 6 or 8 guests. BoHo Cornwall if you're interested. Maybe too small for you though.

GoooRooo · 15/02/2015 21:20

I tried to have a small wedding. We decided to get married abroad and to avoid offending anyone or causing family rifts we invited 120 people - the same as if we'd had got married in the UK - thinking about 6 would come. 60 of the bastards our closest friends and family came.

SpamAnderson · 15/02/2015 21:23

I know snowflake but it seems so of the AIBU overflow into the name threads just to pounce on people :/ they've slated one of my favourite girls names 'Maggie' in there so I shall be avoiding that section I think ha ha! We're finding out at 16 weeks as I'm just too impatient! We found out with dd1 at 16+3 but couldn't afford it with dd2. I love the names we've chosen, I just bloody hope I don't go off them as we'll be screwed, especially for a girls name :/

Pigriver · 15/02/2015 21:32

Hi everyone, not updated in a while. Sickness finally subsiding but still can't eat in the evenings and surviving mainly on bread! Currently 10+2 and still have to wait 3 weeks for a scan Sad. Midwife sent me see consultant after booking in about my existing kidney problem. They were totally happy and just want to see me monthly once I hit halfway. Told DPs family this weekend and that went well. Just before we announced his DB asked if I had lost weight so maybe I am imagining the bloated belly (well DP can see it too!) that makes me look at least 5 months!

StrawberryCheese · 15/02/2015 21:39

Maggie is a lovely name spam Smile We have decided not to find out the sex. DH would like the surprise and my main reason is that if it turns out to be a girl then MIL hasn't had months and months to buy a collection of pink stuff before the poor thing is even born Hmm I don't do pink, I'm sure im going to have to endure it though.

Sainsburys have a baby event on at the moment and I was admiring almost purchasing a lovely white Winnie the pooh sleep suit Blush

alien11 · 15/02/2015 21:54

strawberry I'm very anti pink too! H&m are a good shop for normal coloured girls clothes. Also it's great for plain clothes like non patterned tights, black and white tops etc. Some stuff is so funky you can't pair it with anything without looking like your child is part of the circus haha
It's so hard when they are babies though. I can't stand pink.

nutelladipper · 15/02/2015 22:08

Well I've waited 13 weeks nearly, 9 weeks since getting my BFP and tomorrow I'm off for my first scan!!!!! Eeeek.

StrawberryCheese · 15/02/2015 22:14

It's nice to hear I'm not the only one alien. Thanks for the tip with H&m, I forgot they had a baby/kids section. I was window shopping last weekend, just for a secret nosy and to see what newborns are supposed to wear. The youngest baby I have ever been in contact with (apart from my DB, but I was only little) was 4 months old, I don't think I really have any idea what a newborn baby is like. Confused

Snowflake15 · 15/02/2015 22:14

Good luck tomorrow nutella! I'm cheating having mine tomorrow at 8 weeks, but it really does feel like Christmas has come early! (Or late!) Grin

alien11 · 15/02/2015 22:32

Good luck nutella

alien11 · 15/02/2015 22:34

strawberrycheese I hadn't had contact with any children under 5 and that was teaching them! It's scary how naturally it all comes . I was petrified thinking I was responsible for this newborn baby but she's 3.5 yrs now & it's been wonderful Smile

Mummyboo30 · 15/02/2015 23:16

good luck for tomorrow Nutella! Will be enviously thinking of you!

Strawberry really all you need for a newborn is lots of babygros vests and a sleeping bag or two, they don't need lots of outfits, and they are an arse to try to get a wriggling baby into anyway! Wink

misssmilla1 · 15/02/2015 23:49

Good luck for tomorrow nutella

Spent the day with an 8 year old boy jacked up on chocolate and biscuits (him, not me!) being shot at with toy guns, pretend knives and being made to play an iPad game of "dumb ways to die" Shock got in to the car with the OH and we both looked at each other and were like "are we really ready for this??"

We found out that when I get the harmony test in two weeks (when I'm 10 weeks) we can opt to find out the gender; I'm amazed they can tell that soon from my bloodworm. Still deciding whether I want to know just yet, as still getting my head around actually being pregnant after trying for so long. Decisions decisions!

monkeymoonpig · 15/02/2015 23:49

Names - it's so tricky :-/ we both like traditional names for boy, we have a Thomas and thinking maybe William or Henry if another (tho ive always loved Aneurin, shortened to Nye, but no one else seems to like it Sad ), for a girl we like something a bit different. Really like Freya but cant think of a suitable middle name and someone at work has named their daughter it. Aarghhh decisions!

itssangriaoclock · 16/02/2015 04:37

Currently at work eating pasta getting strange looks off my colleagues but I'm so hungry toast wasn't going to cut it.

I just felt a strong movement. I'm i mad? 10+1 2nd baby?

Dh wants to find out, I firmly don't loved the surprise last time. We struggled with boys names last time and he was a boy typically

shinjuku09 · 16/02/2015 07:43

Oh dear Suz yes it is when they have a late night then wake up early. DD went through a long phase of waking at five every day no matter what time she'd gone to bed!

Fantastic news about DS sleeping through Guavas. I seem to remember taking a while to adjust to it and not keep waking every two hours!

So good to hear some of you are starting to feel better as you approach the second trimester. I think it gives the rest of us hope!

If our scan on Saturday goes well I don't know how I'll hold back from telling the world. We've already told parents, my sister and a few friends and I'm sure others have guessed!

shinjuku09 · 16/02/2015 07:43

Sorry that should have read it is annoying

sauvblanc21 · 16/02/2015 07:51

Interesting to see lots struggle with boys names! Me too! We've got loads of girls names but boys are so tricky - well I thought of loads but hubbo has vetoed every one! Smile

Happy Monday everyone (esp teachers - thank fudge it's half term eh!?) Xxx
