Sorry I've been quiet after my scan on Monday!
Had a scan at 6 weeks... 1 yolk sac, 1 baby, 1 heart beat
Scan on Monday privately, 2 babies 2 heart beats! Very shocked, one is slightly smaller than the other but trying not to worry about that. They're identical twins but we're not certain if there is 1 sac or 2. I'm absolutely petrified of everything going wrong now. Spent yesterday in hospital having fluids as vomiting is so bad. Still shocked!

Maths88 · 11/02/2015 06:28

I also feel like I've put on loads but the scales say I've lost a couple of pounds - no idea how as I feel like I'm eating all the time and I've not been sick.

Got my second early scan tonight and I'm feeling so apprehensive! If tonight goes well I think I will finally start to accept that things may end up going well!

Maths88 · 11/02/2015 06:29

Congrats butterfly on the twins!

Snowflake15 · 11/02/2015 06:56

Congrats butterfly!

alien11 · 11/02/2015 07:00

Congrats butterfly!! Do you have twins in your family?

alien11 · 11/02/2015 07:02

Good luck for your scan maths how far are you now?

I need to get some scales as no idea what I weigh but would like an idea. I lose weight rapidly so not eating dinner last night wasn't the best move...

TerrysNo3 · 11/02/2015 07:19

congrats butterfly that's super exciting! ID twins are a fluke of nature aren't they and not hereditary iirc. I always wanted to be an ID twin, I read a lot of Sweet Valley High books as a kid Grin

Lauramum23 · 11/02/2015 07:20

Congrats on your twins butterfly!
If it's identical twins alien they are just one of a kind and her egg has split in two! If she had non identical where she released two eggs at the same time then that's when it runs in the family, my husband is a twin and my sister has twins........ I'll be glad when I know how many I have in there lol

Lauramum23 · 11/02/2015 07:21

I used to watch that terrysno3

GoooRooo · 11/02/2015 07:36

Wow butterfly how exciting! Hope the sickness eases off.

Whatabout · 11/02/2015 07:39

So we have two twin pregnancies on here wow! (Fx that means I am safe as out quota is full!)

I am definitely thicker in the middle and I am eating no different. But I am having rubbish problems with my bowels so it may be bloat.

Tiredness, nausea and feeling very faint still whacking me a bit. 9+4

butterflycats · 11/02/2015 07:44

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy, but I was high risk before because of a heart condition and now I am proper high risk, as things can go wrong much more frequently when sharing a placenta, and even more so if they are sharing a sac, so think I'm just petrified at the moment! They'll be delivered at 36wks by the latest, so won't be a September baby (and will be youngest in the school year, doh!) but hope you'll let me stay on the September thread! Wish I could take a glimpse of my life in 12 months time so I would know if it's all gone ok!

Treaclepie19 · 11/02/2015 08:01

Oh congrats butterfly!
It sounds very worrying but hopefully they'll keep a close eye on you.

Secretly hoping the same happens for me :p

Congratulations butterfly! Lovely news.

I still feel horrendous and really not functioning very well at all. I'm definitely thicker around the middle, but don't know if that's more to do with the carb overload. Need to go and buy bigger leggings and tights. Someone at work this week actually asked one of my colleagues if i was pregnant! I have formed a little pot belly over the past week which I'm trying to cover with long cardigans. I'm sure it's just bread and bloat though.

Jessica32 · 11/02/2015 08:59

Congrats butterfly!

Alien, I would keep your booking appt. for 8 weeks. Mine is at 8 as that's when they do them here. The fact that your feeling low and tired may be symptoms and you just don't feel sick.

Spam, I keep thinking about red laces! Wanted sweets at 10 last night and kept thinking about them! Your craving has been passed on!

Sebs, I would do a NCT refresher, seems like a good solution.

alien11 · 11/02/2015 09:02

Thanks jessica yes I'll keep it as I'm away wk9 and wk10 so would be too late after that anyway ! Eeek 2 weeks tomorrow until booking appt. seems to have flown round which is good. I've been so bad gym wise, usually go when drop dd at pre school but so tired and not sleeping at all well so been getting other stuff done instead.

I think 12 wk scan will be end of march so quite a wait but will find out more info @ booking in appt I guess. How to keep it secret from dd who will be there will be fun haha.

Hope you all have a nice day

Treaclepie19 · 11/02/2015 10:28

Anyone else still having sneezing pain? I've just sneezed and got a major pain in my left side - which im used to - hasn't completely gone away yet.
Definitely keep your appointment alien :)
Haven't got mine yet.

Treacle, defiantly sneezing pain too and the cold so I'm always having it Hmm

11+2 today, getting so close to the 12! My scan isn't for another 9 days tho feels bloddy ages away since the last scan at 9 weeks Confused

Also yay twins! Congratulations!

Tallalime · 11/02/2015 11:31

butterfly They think I am having ID twins too. Have another scan on 18th to confirm (I think it is quite common to go from 2 to 1 in early stages).

They monitor twin pregnancies pretty closely - I've been told fortnightly scans from 16 weeks Confused

I am sitting at home waiting for the MW to turn up for my booking in. She was due at 9.30... but she rang to say she's super busy so I'm still waiting!

alien11 · 11/02/2015 11:45

Wow talla that's really late! Hope my mw isn't that late.

I am so so so so tired ! Got to pick dd up in a few mins and I have no idea how I will stay awake until her bedtime....

Have cramps and starting to feel bit icky.

How's everyone else feeling?im hoping at 12 wk scan I may be back to edd being in September

mrsdos · 11/02/2015 12:21

I am feeling so rubbish today! Sleepy and sick is not a good look when you sit near the office window Sad
Natalie how long did it take for your scan date to come through after seeing the mw? I'm not booked in until tuesday but will be 12+2 by then (my mw will not accept the dates I gave her, but the scan dates were almost spot on!) so starting to worry it will be too late for a scan Confused

monkeymoonpig · 11/02/2015 12:27

I had my booking in appt at around 6wks and scan is at 12+6 - a lonnnnng 7 weeks to wait! Shock

duckbilled · 11/02/2015 12:53

Just been for my booking in appointment take 2. A lot of boring questions, gave a lot of blood and then found out i will be consultant led due to being high risk last time Sad. Feeling quite down as i really wanted the chance to go to the birth center and have a more natural experience.

Mummyboo30 · 11/02/2015 13:13

duck that seems pretty harsh, are you still classed as high risk, or are they just being overprotective?
