couple of useful things from my booking in this morning:

if you've already had the whooping cough jab in the last 5 years you don't need it again

and no, it's not definitely wind, it's perfectly possible that the flutterings I've been feeling are the baby, especially as it tends to be when the waistband of my jeans is cutting in Shock Grin Grin

Kittykitty05 · 10/02/2015 16:11

Hurrah, all booked in with MW, appointment was 50 mins late so was very bored but we sped through the pack in 25 mins! Sorted!

thecrab · 10/02/2015 16:34

anyone else struggling with the exhaustion? I've got the MW coming over tomorrow and trying to get the house in a reasonable condition but I can't stand for long periods of time =(

Currently on the floor of the soon-to-be nursery tiding and just can't do it anymore.

I haven't ran for over a week because I'm so tired and I know that is going to affect me the most! I NEED to run so bad I'm dreaming about it.

Just want to cry I'm so exhausted and I've done nothing today.

stuffthenonsense · 10/02/2015 16:50

Delia I am definitely feeling movements. Crab don't worry about the mess, the mw is there to see you not judge your housekeeping (which is a good job as this morning mine stepped over a trail of toys to make drinks for my smalls whilst I boobed one ??)

DoNotDenyMe · 10/02/2015 16:53

thecrab Yes! I am THAT exhausted!

Went out to do a bit of shopping with dh and dd. I came out of one shop and felt like I could've passed out.
I came home and got straight into bed saying that I needed to sleep and to cry! (Dramatic much?) Blush
I do not remember being this tired last time. And it sounds so wimpy to people when I try to explain it!

Chuch21 · 10/02/2015 17:08

Booking appt tomorrow... At last! I'm 9 wks today so I'm hoping she might listen for a little heartbeat?

I feel pretty good today for the first time in what feels like forever! Sorry to those of you feeling rubbish Sad hopefully those pre-nine weeks will feel better when you hit that mark.

Is there anything in particular I should be asking about tomorrow? Not sure what to expect but I'm prepared that it's not too exciting haha.

mrsdos · 10/02/2015 17:09

thecrab I am also that exhausted! Deffo salute you for wanting to run though
Genuinely worried about driving home today Confused which is silly as I have sat on my bum at my desk all day. Possibly made worse by Dh textig me as he left school to say he was off home 'to rest'! I thought by 11 weeks it would be a little better Hmm

itssangriaoclock · 10/02/2015 17:14

Midwives don't usually listen to heartbeat until 16wks even then it's the midwives personal choice and more for the mother. The NICE guidelines don't recommend listening at antenatal appointments until 25wks.

itssangriaoclock · 10/02/2015 17:15

I have thought a couple of times I have felt a flatter. But at only 9wks not sure if I'm imagining it or not.

Spanielpuppy · 10/02/2015 17:20

I agree with sangria midwives doesn't usually listen until 25wks but it maybe worth an ask? I suppose it's in case the baby is too small to find, the midwife wouldn't want to unnecessary worry you

SpamAnderson · 10/02/2015 18:01

Here the midwives listen to baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks, they absolutely won't do any earlier.

Chuch21 · 10/02/2015 18:04

Thanks guys Smile shame but I understand it's probably for the best... Mainly wanted it for DP as he was away when I had to have an emergency scan so he's feeling a bit left out! (Surprisingly he's not as jealous of the heartburn and constipation...)

Hopefully we won't have long to wait until the scan!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 10/02/2015 18:22

Suz sorry for late response, when did you see your GP? He made the scan appt for me and gave me the number for the midwife. Called them.and was told my local midwife would call back but radio silence. We're just outside Abingdon, what about you?

itssangriaoclock · 10/02/2015 18:23

Most midwives do at 16wks but it can be difficult and take a minute to find baby as they are small and move out of the way quickly.

Meinthecorner · 10/02/2015 19:37

Sebsmummy NCT do refresher courses so you'd meet parents who already have children but also expecting at about the same time as you although there are fewer of the courses.

GoooRooo · 10/02/2015 19:48

Yes to the exhaustion. I want to sleep forever.

I got on the scales today. I've put on 7lbs and nearly cried. I'm only 7+3! I was on Slimming World before I fell PG and lost over 3.5 stone. I have not been stuffing myself with crap so I am now really really worried about how much weight I am going to put on. (Or that it's twins!)

MyNameIsSuz · 10/02/2015 19:58

Lastnight, I saw the gp at six weeks but the midwife made the scan for me. This is my second and last time the doctor did it and I had an appointment much earlier. Bad luck I guess, my friend is a couple of weeks ahead of me and had her appointment through super early. We're Wantage so not too far from you, think I'll be doing some Abingdon antenatal fitness classes soon as all the Wantage ones seem to have stopped Sad

itssangriaoclock · 10/02/2015 20:09

GoooRooo I'm the same with re weight, but I just can't stop eating it stop me feeling soo I'll. but eating loads I think is making me more tired. I've been a complete carb load today.

I need to sort myself out fast, I'm at work tomorro and busy thurs and fri so hopefully that should help

Lauramum23 · 10/02/2015 20:56

Me too I'm so tired! I actually fell asleep before my husband last night ( I always wait till he's asleep as he makes too much noise!) so I MUST be knackeredGrin I have my booking in tomoz I am 7 weeks.

Mummytogoldie · 10/02/2015 21:47

I am constantly tired even when I first wake up in the morning, don't suppose it's helped by not eating right cos constantly feel sick x

StrawberryCheese · 10/02/2015 22:28

Anyone else noticing their waist getting a bit thicker? I'm not even 8 weeks yet but jeans are already feeling a bit snug by mid afternoon. I wore tights today for the first time in a couple of weeks and I ended up having to roll them down a bit as they were so, well, tight! As a first timer I was naively expecting that there wouldn't be much physical evidence in the first trimester and I would just carry on as normal wearing the same clothes. I'm beginning to think that I will need to go shopping soon.

GoooRooo · 10/02/2015 22:35

Me. But as above I've put on a shed load of weight so not sure I can really blame the baby

StrawberryCheese · 10/02/2015 22:38

That's the thing, I don't seem to have put on any weight, according to the scales. Is it just bloat? I've bloated with my IBS but this is a bit different.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 11/02/2015 06:02

Less than a month to go before my 12 week scan now. Trying not to get too excited. I don't have the energy to be excited at the moment. I don't even have the energy to decide what to have for breakfast!

alien11 · 11/02/2015 06:05

Hope you are all well. I'm shattered.didn't have anything to eat for dinner last night so feeling rather faint & off to walk the dog now! I'm starting to feel sick but think it's worry & lack of food . Glad booking in appts have been going well. Mine is 2 weeks away.
