Re birth plans, at what point is this discussed? Does OH have an input? Do your OHs come to your midwife appts? Mine comes to scans of course but not to MW. I'm 31+4.

daholster · 04/02/2015 18:55

penguin hooray! That heady disbelief and happiness! The next steps we plan for can actually be yours now, such a wonderful feeling - and a great time to do it - just before mat leave!

Thanks for all your support this afternoon. She eventually fell asleep at a about 2.45. I slept from 2.50 til 3.30 when my alarm went off to get us out of the house for swimming. We were later than usual leaving, given trying to get the sleep in, then the traffic was dreadful, so we arrived 10mins late (dd still asleep in the car), and then I rushed in having left all the swim nappies at home! ARGH!!! Luckily someone had a spare. We got half a lesson done. Then getting changed realised I had left the normal nappies in the car in my rush. OMG. Luckily someone had a spare one of those too!!!

We came home and I decided we are having takeaway pizza/chicken strippers/Franks hot wings for dinner, irresponsible and frivolous mother. But dh is away and I am exhausted, and I have lots of tidying to do! I want to be in bed early to try to catch up and start preparing for my Friday night shift (yawn....) - Friday I will be working 08.00-18.00 then 23.00 to 08.00. Gulp!!!

smogsville · 04/02/2015 19:10

Congratulations Penguin!

Daholster that shift pattern sounds like a shocker. You are right to have a rest and do yourself a favour with easy supper.

TheBooMonster · 04/02/2015 19:32

ooh choc thanks, I'll see about going this weekend, perhaps I can drag DH on the way to mums for lunch on Sunday.

Lauren82000 · 04/02/2015 19:44

Chicken DH has been with me to the mw twice. Both times he was off work anyway so tagged along. I think he likes hearing the heartbeat but the rest is gobbledygook to him so he's neither use nor ornament. He came along to a few of the mw appointments with DD too. It's nice if they can get the time to come but sometimes your more comfortable asking your questions if your by yourself. (My DH is a worrier and if he knows I'm worrying about something he hadn't even thought of he'd never get any sleep for worrying about it. If you know what I mean.) Wink

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 04/02/2015 19:55

my fiance comes to midwife appointments if he's off work (so very infrequently!) but has been twice (during his "seasonal break")

but he comes to every scan and consultant appointment as much for his pleasure as to advocate for me.

Just popping in to let you all know that my baby was born today at 30+2. Baby girl Tiger-Rose weighed 2lb11oz and was delivered by c section this afternoon, due to my high bp. She is doing amazingly well, breathing on her own and my bp has stabilised since the birth.

kismac · 04/02/2015 20:31

Aww wow dances. Congratulations! So pleased you are both doing well.

ChickenMe · 04/02/2015 20:31

Aw dances how lovely. All the best to your little girl xx

Cisforcat · 04/02/2015 20:32

Omg dances congratutions!!! I hope your both ok- and great news re your Bp. Hope you get a bit of rest!

BananaToast · 04/02/2015 20:32

dancestomyowntune · 04/02/2015 20:35

Thank you all. I am hoping to go and see her in a bit, the glimpse I got in theatre and the photo on my phone just aren't enough!

Oh my goodness - congratulations on your little girl dances! Our first thread baby!

So hope you're feeling ok and you enjoy getting to get to know her over the next few days. Take care and keep us updated xxxx

LadyNovember · 04/02/2015 20:57

Congratulations Dances! Can't believe we have our first birth already! Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope your little one continues to do well! Xx

cinnamongreyhound · 04/02/2015 20:59

With ds1 dh came to all midwife appointments as we worked together and travelled together so if I left early so did he ChickenMe. It's in my notes at which appointment they discuss it, think it's 36wks but you can write it into your notes yourself and dh can have as much inout as you want him to.

Congratulations dancestomyowntune, glad to hear she's doing well Flowers

Siarie · 04/02/2015 20:59

Ahh dances! Congratulations, great to hear she is breathing by herself. Gosh you have to keep us updated, have they said how long she may stay in for?

Lauren82000 · 04/02/2015 21:12

Congrats Dances, how exciting our first thread baby. Hope she continues to do well and you all get to go home soon Smile

daholster · 04/02/2015 21:27

dances what a shock! I thought things had gone a bit quiet from you but everyone is so busy it never occurred to me you might be struggling. I'm so glad she is doing well, and that you are too, and you get to give her cuddles really soon!!! So glad you made the 30 week mark Smile Congratulations!!!

First thread baby... Now that's scary...! Shock

TheBooMonster · 04/02/2015 21:34

blimey dances congratulations!

PenguinPoser · 04/02/2015 21:36

Thankyou everyone Smile

Wow congratulations dances really hope you get to visit her ASAP - great news she's breathing herself and hope you're ok too.

TinyTear · 04/02/2015 21:45

Wow congratulations! I am 30+4 so about same time... Eeek!!!

minipie · 04/02/2015 21:57

dances gosh congratulations! that's fantastic that she's breathing on her own and that you made it to 30 weeks. Best of luck with the NICU experience - DD (34 weeker) was there 3 weeks, guess you may be in a little longer, take care of yourself. Hope you can have a kangaroo cuddle very soon.

smogsville · 04/02/2015 22:15

Congratulations dances!
