Oo wine I'm a Lancashire lass too :) north manchester birth centre or home birth for me. Not done a tour yet though.

Hello to all the newcomers :)

I think it would be nice for us all to stay on one thread, like you say those at the end of the month might get a bit lonely :( although on the same hand please don't scare us with birth stories if you go first :/
It's all feeling more and more real. Just last night lying on the couch with DH we both had the realisation that soon we won't be able to just pop able film on and lie down for 3 hours cuddling before bed.

I was going to suppose DH tomorrow and go out for the day but he's just text to say he's going into work 6-12 tomorrow. Something to do with having to put the factory on overtime and night shifts and now there's no factory manager he'll have to do it. Ah well, more lazing around on the couch for me then, probably a good thing seen as I'm not quite 100%

Ooo twins sparks I think they are the first on this thread :)

I've packed baby bag but DH says he is going to pack mine so that when I need things he knows where they are. I still make a list but he'll pack them, just not actually made a list yet lol.

I actually don't find birth stories to be worrying, I quite like information. But I understand not everyone is like me, I have other threads that I'm on where I've questioned the ladies who have given birth into all the details!

I can always just pop over to the postnatal thread to ask these things though.

Lauren82000 · 13/02/2015 15:13

Fairy lights Brixton? Is this some new product I don't know about or an actual string of fairy lights to plug in?

RL20 · 13/02/2015 15:21

Boo how do I add myself to the stats?
22.. EDD 20th April.. Expecting baby boy! Been here since the beginning and realised I never added myself to it?!
Also, think I am the baby of the April thread! ??

Update on my sore throat (exciting, I know)..
Been to my local chemist and they suggested either honey and lemon glycerin medicine, or like a few of you said, homemade honey and lemon hot drink. So I bought the medicine, took it home and peeled back the label to read the information (which I wouldn't normally do before pregnancy) and it says not suitable to use in pregnancy, but consult your doctor first! Yet on the NHS site it says it's not known to cause any problems or side effects in pregnancy. So I took one small teaspoonful and have been drinking boiled water with lemon juice (haven't been to get any honey yet!).
Hopefully it'll clear up. I can't believe how much I'm going on about my sore throat. But I haven't got any sleep with it and feel like it's turning into a cold Hmm normally I would be drinking honey and lemon out of the bottle but obviously I don't want to take that risk!

RL20 · 13/02/2015 15:23

Oh and in reply to the loneliness, I hadn't really thought about it. But with my due date being the 20th I'm now thinking a lot of you will be very busy with newborns!
I agree we will definitely have to do some sort of PN thread

solstice930 · 13/02/2015 15:23

Can I be added to the roster please?

solstice930, 30, EDD April 6th, surprise

I'm 32+4 today, it really feels like it's flying by! My back has been in agony the past few days. I've got a hot water bottle permanently attached to me, and I'm up doing stretches and squats every half hour. Sad

I've also noticed I only feel kicks/movements down low so I'm convinced this baby is breech! I know there's ages for it to move, but part of me feels like a planned c-section date would make childcare for DD soooo much easier. We don't have any family near by so a set date would be amazing (rather than our 4 week rota of friends we're currently working on! Grin)

BananaToast · 13/02/2015 15:30

RL20 · 13/02/2015 15:56

Solstice.. I feel like my pregnancy has been flying by top! I also mainly only feel movements low down too, although don't get me wrong I do feel movements around my belly button too. I've never really felt anything above that though, or any rib kicking or anything? I suppose there's still plenty of time for that though! (I'm 30+4).
At my last midwives appointment she thought that baby might be lying sideways, so we'll see what she thinks at my next appointment next week!

BrixtonBunny · 13/02/2015 16:05

ChickenMe · 13/02/2015 16:09

Oh yeah Arnica, deodorant and paracetamol because OH always gets a bangin headache

solstice930 · 13/02/2015 16:18

I haven't even started to think about hospital bag (apart from randomly grabbing maternity pads and disposable pants from Tesco a few weeks ago!) Maybe that will be my weekend nesting activity...

I also have very little in the way of baby clothes, as I lent out most of DD's stuff to friends and family and we're waiting to get the newborn stuff back in early March. Hope s/he doesn't arrive early as I have about 2 sleepsuits at the moment!

:-) I've been around for a while and on the FB group but just mainly lurking on here - thanks for adding me to the list :-)

I'm trying to get on top of hospital bag this week as I'm off work - so scary to get it packed though!!

Chicken - pringles! Love it.

I have a Leon, Itsu and Franco Manca v near hospital so am planning to send DH out for everything I want to eat depending on my whims.

My hosp bag list is v short I am basically going to wing it with as little as possible in hope that it all goes acc to plan and I only have to stay one night. Don't need labour stuff either. I would post my list but I'm on the sofa watching frozen with DD and I can't be bothered to move Shock

BrixtonBunny · 13/02/2015 16:43

Squatting I love the idea of Fanjo Lights Grin

ChickenMe · 13/02/2015 17:10

Lol at fanjo lights. Haven't seen mine for months so lights would help

RL20 · 13/02/2015 17:25

While everyone's on the subject of fanjo's.... What will you all be doing throughout April time.. You know.. Hair wise?! I'm not brave enough to get a wax down there but also don't want it too be totally unruly! ?? Surely I won't be able to shave properly?! Sorry TMI! Hadn't given it much thought before, though!

RL mine is natural anyway so I'll be doing nothing to it! I'm sure midwives will have seen every kind of vagina going, and I'm positive it will be the last thing on your mind!

I've read in a few different places though that women are being encouraged not to wax as there is a rise in c-section infections linked to waxing. I'd just do whatever makes you happy!

RL funnily enough I managed to lift my bump enough to trim in the shower this morning. Gotta love those razor/trimmer things. It was a struggle and if my neck wasn't as long as it is I wouldn't of been able to do it. Think that was the last time I'll manage it though. Your only other option is a strategically placed mirror or ask for help. Not sure if it falls a bit close to the 'too married' relationship line. Kind of like wiping your OH's bum for them.
