I got brave seeing all the other newbie's post ;-)

Welcome newbies ! Tout I have 2 cats- they were 1 1/2 when my dd was born and they have been fine. One let's her do anything to her ( pulls tail, sits on her etc- yet we can't pick her up which is odd) and the boy cat isn't keen on her but just walks away from her if he doesn't want dd near her. They just adapt so they should be fine.

Sorry you've got spd- it's horrid! I had it bad with dd and got it as early as 8 weeks with this pregnancy ( as well as horrendous morning sickness ) so I know how you feel. I can hardly do anything anymore - shopping is too much, work is a nightmare, can't walk far at all etc and so chasing a 13 month old dd is taking it's toll !
But..... As soon as I delivered it got better and was pretty much gone 2-3 weeks after delivery so the end is in sight. Just hope hats the case his time too!
Take it easy and look after yourself. It's very easy to do too much and suffer for days afterwards - especially when the people round you don't understand just how painful and restricting it is.

hmm it's been a few days since we've heard from you Dances hope you and Tiger-Rose are both doing ok?

Do we want to start a post-natal thread once we've got a few more babies, so new mummies can start discussing mummy things, or do we want to wait until all of the babies are here to move across so that we all move across together? Either way I think it would be fitting if dances starts it (if you want to dances) being the first of us! thinking ahead just a bit

boo I suppose a postnatal thread would be handy although I'd hope people who have given birth will still post here. Otherwise those near the end of the month like me will find it very quiet!

30+4 surely Squatting Good news about the name progress. We haven't discussed names for a couple of weeks so still down to our top two, but I can't imagine him being either of them.

Feels like time is flying by at the moment - just over 6 weeks til I finish work and just so much to get done. Thankfully I'm not feeling too huge and uncomfortable yet, but I'm not sleeping all that well. Lots of tossing and turning and toilet breaks. I can't complain though, I think I'm having an easier time of it than most of you at the moment - touch wood!

I've started having evening cuddles with the teddy we've bought for baby so he starts to smell like me. I can't wait to have a little baby tucked up on me instead!

Welcome newbies to our thread. This sudden rash of extra people is rather ruining my theory about April being a quieter month to give birth! DD was September which I was reliably informed meant that postnatal was insanely busy.

siarie yea, that was my concern, that you'd end up with a few people at the end of the month, or in early May who are all alone, but at the same time all the blood and gore style birth stories might scare the bajebus out of some people. So perhaps birth stories and 'for the love of god why won't s/he latch?!?!?!?' posts could go in the post natal thread but people who were postnatal could still post general stuff in here, stuff like 'i packed 500 maternity pads and the hospital gave me enough to supply an army' and 'you'll never guess what the girl int he next bed packed' might be quite useful...

squatting I'll sort you out on the stats :P

Also, I'm a nosey cow, can people please post up their hospital bag lists! excitedly bounds from foot to foot I've chronically overpacked, but I don't want to have missed anything!

Thanks Cisforcat, I'm hoping our fur babies adapt well! they were both rescue cats and our boy likes his space, peace and quiet and evening lap cuddles with human mum! Our girl housecat is a tiny little thing, very nervous and jumpy, scared of her own shadow sometimes! We will just have to see how they go. They usually have free roam of the house at night too and will soon need to get them used to being locked out of our room...poor things :(

Yes the SPD has been very unpleasant and I agree, it's hard to explain sometimes just how much it effects everything, like just lifting my legs on to the sofa sometimes is far too painful! Never mind walking for longer than a few minutes... The midwife this week told me to demand crutches at my next Physio session so that I might at least be able to make it round the supermarket when needed. Joy!

Ooh names! We have given up talking about it the last few weeks! I think we have a list of 3/4 maybe's but we both keep changing our minds and none of them seem to 'suit' bump. I can see us ending up waiting to see 'what she looks like' and then choosing something we hadn't even considered before!

Hi Tout we have a fur lady as well. She is a Siamese and they are quite nervy. What breed are yours? We started using Feliway plug ins a few months ago because she cleans excessively. It seems to have helped as her bald patches are growing back. Also, as far as possible we try to have a routine for her. She has become quite keen on me-she curled up in my lap earlier and the baby kicked her!

totally agree about SPD! It affects so many movements and especially lounging positions of the sofa. I was very depressed after I found out I have SPD and what the outlook is.

I actually find it better to be going to work as I do less movements there (office computer job)

I was lucky and after one physio session I noticed improvement.
