Hope things sort themselves out with you and you DH Daholster. Sometimes men just don't realise how much a strain on your body pregnancy is. Keep your chin up and try to rest as much as you can.

FiRaffe · 13/02/2015 07:17

Hope things get better daholster - sounds like you both need a good rest!
So glad it's Friday and we're 30 weeks today. Nice to have a 3 at the front but still can't believe it can be 3 months until we meet this little wriggler!

kismac · 13/02/2015 07:20

Welcome new people!

Yeah, I get breathless when I lie down. Its a bit scary but I don't want to start sleeping sitting up just yet.

Daholster, hope you and DH manage to get some time together to sort everything out.

I've complained all week about being tired and now on my day off I wake up at 6.30am. Bloody typical.

Wineandchoccy · 13/02/2015 08:33

Welcome littleash

I hope you stay low risk Siarie then you can use the birth centre.

I'm working in Manchester city centre today so I am going to nip in Primark and stock up on big knickers then that's my bag sorted. Baby's bag needs finishing this weekend then we all ready for the new arrival.

Lauren82000 · 13/02/2015 08:43

Well I had another terrible nights sleep, baby is grinding its head into my hip/pelvis bit and it's stopping me getting comfy on my side. Doesn't matter which side it starts on as soon as I roll over it does it on the other side! Angry Then DD woke me up at 4am 'I need a wee wee mummy' so I let her out of her room and she got into bed with usConfused so needless to say it was my pillow she shared and I was sleeping on a postage stamp from that point on. Why she insists on bringing a zoo full of teddies with her I have no idea.

RL20 · 13/02/2015 08:52

Morning everyone.
Lauren I had a bad night sleep too just like the last few nights this week, although it wasn't because of baby's movement just more of I can't get comfortable in general. It can't be my bump because I'm still not that huge for 30 weeks. I just don't know how to get comfortable! Confused I was awake every hour even if it wasn't to go for a wee. When my partner goes work at 5.30am I seem to sleep through from then until around 7.30/8am for some reason but then I'm wide awake. I don't know if I've been going bed too early (as I don't work mornings anymore so don't necessarily need to) so when I wake up it feels like it's around 3am but I look at the time and it's not even midnight! Confused But on the other hand I feel like I want to carry on going to bed when my partner does (which has been around 9pm/9.30pm) because otherwise I don't feel like we've had any time together ??

Update on my sore throat and dry cough - 10 times worse this morning Hmm So off to the chemist I go today to see what they recommend.

TheBooMonster · 13/02/2015 09:12

lauren I seem to have a piece of baby digging into my left side, and every time I lay on it it feels like it's scraping along the inside of my side which is a pretty vomworthy sensation! I'm trying to sleep on my right, but I tend to end up with my arse hanging out the side of the bed! I'm so looking forward to being able to lay on my front again!! For the most part the easiest time to sleep is when DH isn't sharing the bed, unfortunately short of going to bed at the same time as DD (which is proving tempting) which I rather fear would just end up with him coming to bed early and reading Angry because there's nothing more restful than someone taking up most of the bed with the lights on my only time for that is the short period of time between him being dressed in the morning (because whilst he's getting dressed I generally have both him and DD all over the bed) and him being ready to leave the house which when he's on a late can be as long as 4 hours of bliss. Today that was 15 minutes, could have cried! Not sure how I ended up sleeping last night, but my hips are awful this morning...

rl hope they manage to sort you out something for that throat!

daholster sorry to hear that things are a bit strained at the moment, I'm not sure it's possible for the menfolk to understand just how exhausting carrying a baby is :S

welcome ash!

DD is getting so fed up of being stuck in the house, think I'm going to have to see if MiL can take her out for a walk tomorrow whilst they're all over as I'm actually terrified of going out without someone with me in case the pains start up whilst we're out and I'm in too much pain to get DD home...

obeliaboo · 13/02/2015 09:16

Morning everyone - i think i've posted in one of the previous threads under a different name!
EDD April 7th, little boy.

Ended up in hospital last night for the second time in three weeks because my little trouble causer decided not to move all day (I have anterior placenta too) - second i was hooked up to a monitor, he got the hiccups! Relieved he's fine, but even his dad gave bump a scolding hahaha.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/02/2015 09:21

welcome, new people! and any other lurking April mums-to-be!

last night was ok-ish here. At least I got some sleep. Eldest is recovered from his illness, but now youngest and my fiance both have it. I do too, but mothers aren't allowed to be ill, when the toddler screams for you, you go to them anyway. Fiance ended up in the bottom bunk in the kids' room, both kids ended up in the double bed with me, and the toddler was waking up crying and coughing every 2 hours. It is sweet when you wake up to see your 4 year old cuddling his little brother in his sleep.

So I'm still tired, but better than yesterday.

Baby was squirming a lot last night, I wonder if she's turned... there was enough movement but my bump doesn't seem to have changed shape. Scan on Tuesday so we'll find out then. Doesn't matter to me, since she's being evicted via the sunroof rather than going through the usual exit!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/02/2015 09:23

I seem to have lost the ability to punctuate! Sorry for all the unnecessary commas.

Squidge14 · 13/02/2015 09:28

Morning ladies...Friday the 13th woooooooo Grin so everyone is feeling a bit bleurgh today then! I had such a bad night I was like an insomniac I went to bed at 11pm and didn't get a wink of sleep until about 5am this morning then my alarm went off at 6 Sad I even resorted to going downstairs and making myself a warm scone with copious amounts of butter and cream at 4am I just couldn't get comfortable and baby was performing circus acts CONSTANTLY!

Hope everyone has a better day today, I give it until lunchtime until I have an emotional breakdown at my desk or I draw blood from an poor unsuspecting victim Grin

on a positive note, I bought some bottom butter on my way in from the mini waitrose, so thanks for the recommendation! And I've started my birth plan after an antenatal class!

smogsville · 13/02/2015 09:37

Sorry for all the poor sleep. We had DD up wailing a couple of times. Nothing 'wrong' medically as evinced by her leaping about this morning but we did end up giving her nurofen and it got her straight off to sleep around midnight. I felt a bit bad about that as she didn't have a temperature or anything but she was inconsolable one minute and then fast asleep the next so from a practical perspective it worked. This morning she wailed all the way to nursery, I felt like shouting at her but managed not to. Fortunately her nursery teacher has seen it all before and said that's enough, come in and sit down please and she's just texted to say DD is absolutely fine and happily joining in with the valentines heart biscuit making! The little rogue.

Ebwy the sibling cuddling sounds heart meltingly cute. I think that's what we second and third timers all need to hold onto when we want to tear our hair out at behaviour of older children!

Daholster you're probably sick of hearing it but I do think you're a bit of a hero for juggling challenging work schedule, DD and just soldiering on when things are difficult with your DH. So I guess I am just saying give yourself a pat on the back.

Good one on birth plan Squidge. Buying bottom butter again has really taken me back to DD as a baby. All feeling a bit close now...

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/02/2015 09:43

smogs, the cutest thing EVER was when the toddler was about 2 months old. Eldest was in bed with me (he has night terrors, it's a common thing for him to be in with me), I had just fed the little one and put him down next to his brother while I sorted my clothing out. He reached out (asleep!), cuddled his baby brother. I went to put the baby back in the cot, to be told off very sternly by a 2 year old! "NO! [baby's name] MINE baby!" and then he went back to sleep, still cuddling.

I sat there squeeing quietly about it for ages :)

smogsville · 13/02/2015 09:54

EnvyEnvyEnvy Ebwy!

TheBooMonster · 13/02/2015 10:16

oh, if people are still buying baby clothes, John Lewis have baby 'bundlers' reduced to £4 here one of the ladies on my other FB group recommended them and I've bought 4 to give them a go, apparently they're great for putting baby to sleep in as you don't have to worry about poppers which speeds up nappy changes.

ebwy I'm really hoping DD will be like that with bump, however I mostly expect we're going to have lots of shoving and screeching, she doesn't take well to anyone else having cuddles with me so I'm anticipating breast-feeding being fun. Luckily DH is taking an weeks holiday along with his 2 weeks paternity so I'm angling for all the hot and cold running daddy making up for reduced mummy time especially as he'll be desperately looking for an excuse to avoid newborn nappy changes

skyra13 · 13/02/2015 10:23

My husband really does not want to change the nappy's but I have said if he does not then I shall devoice him lol why should I have to deal with all the gross stuff!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/02/2015 10:25

start talking the baby up to her now... even when they don't say much they understand more than that.

show her photos of babies. "oooh look, DD, such a lovely baby"
"look, that's you when you were a baby... I hope the new baby in my tummy is as lovely as you were!"
"whent he baby grows a bit, it'll be great! there'll always be someone at home for you to play with!"

By the time the baby was born, my boy was convinced babies were the ultimate in awesome. When we got home from the hospital and his adopt-a-grandparents brought him home, he walked in, the baby was in the moses basket... gave me a cuddle (I sniffled a bit..) then I said "what's that in the basket?" (meaning the present the baby had ready for him...)

"OOOOOOOOOOOOH! Mammy, it a BAAAYY-BEEEEEEEEEE! that MY baby?"

I had to point out the baby had a present for him. It was a few toy cars, but he didn't even get them out of the packaging for 2 hours, just wanted to touch and stare at "his baby"

this time he keeps asking "when are you going to hopsital? I want my baby sister now!"

smogsville · 13/02/2015 10:27

I didn't change any nappies for first two weeks of DD's life on grounds that I'd just had a section and shouldn't bend or carry anything.

But quite frankly changing nappies is the least of my worries...

TheBooMonster · 13/02/2015 10:34

aww bless him ewby I shall try it with DD. If I ask her where her sister is, or where the baby is she points to my tummy (or sometimes my boobs) and she recognises herself as a baby in pictures, and then will point to my tummy. I keep telling her that when her sister gets here she'll be a big grown up girl, though I'm not sure if that's helping int he grand scheme of things Confused

skyra I think DH still has trauma from the time DD pooed on him so spectacularly at the hospital that he had to go home in scrubs. though I expect he has more trauma from his mum and I telling him he had to stop wearing the scrubs as his general 'round the house' clothes and confiscated them Hmm TBH with the amount of fruit DD consumes, I'd totally take every pre-weaning poo going if I could avoid DD's nappies!!

TheBooMonster · 13/02/2015 10:44

smog I got out of a lot of nappies with DD initially because I was so wiped out from the PPH, and I spent half my time connected to a breast pump, I quite quickly worked out when DD had gone and I'd run away with the pump and pop DD in DH's lap to deal with... especially if he'd made the mistake of buggering off to the study to play on the computer!! Angry This time round the computers in the living room, so he can't really escape. Though my money is on him at least trying to pretend like he's found an all consuming book to read and hiding in the bedroom, DD won't let him get away with it though, he can't even spend too long in the bathroom before she starts knocking and screeching at him Grin

also welcome back obeliaboo now there are two boos! Sorry to hear you were in hospital over night, these pesky April babies are a bunch of mischiefs! bump has had me in twice for monitoring now, once for reduced movements and once for mystery womb tightenings!

usernamefeefifoe · 13/02/2015 10:44

Hi.

I'm 32 weeks tmrw with my first baby, due on April 11th. Feeling good apart from a horrible head cold which has gotten hold of me. Hoping on going on a shopping trip next week, as we have not bought anything as of yet! Time is ticking!! Shock

blackwidow74 · 13/02/2015 11:00

Hi all ... 30+2 with #6 ... A little pinkie :) and our 2nd daughter!! Due 22 April ... consultant led after late loss with #5 7 years ago ... SPD has really taken hold and being a fossil mum I'm struggling ... how on earth do you coordinate with crutches?? I'm like a handcuffed crab lol!!

ToutDeLeFruit · 13/02/2015 11:24

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker and newbie post-er ;-)

I'm due with our first baby, a girl, on 12th April. Whilst I am hugely excited to meet our little lady, I've not enjoyed pregnancy. I've battled with sickness, constant low blood pressure and SPD for what feels like forever now. Some days are better than others, but the bad and painful days have definitely been more frequent recently. Sleeping is impossible!! I have 2 weeks left at work until I finish (annual leave for a couple of weeks first and then straight in to mat leave).I've been on reduced hours and some working from home days for the last few weeks, but I really don't know how I will even make it through these last couple of weeks!

Someone also mentioned cats? I have 2 fur babies, and they are literally like our babies! I'm worried how they will react to the little person and don't want them to feel upset or uncomfortable in their own home! One of our cats (girl) is a house cat, the other (boy) outdoors - and its him I'm most worried about - I fear he may go and find a quiet neighbour to live with to escape the chaos!!
Smile
