I ended up with a subway for lunch, and following my tea have just made and demolished most of an apple crumble! Yum Smile I'm pretty sure we need a few extra calories in the third trimester so it's all good Wink

heyitsholly pleased you went to get checked out I think it's definitely the safest thing to do, hope you feel better tomorrow.

Siarie hope your back isn't too bad. I think it's inevitable for a few aches and pains but as long as it doesn't get worse. Hope you're ok too Ebwy.

RL20 · 10/02/2015 22:06

Firaffe if we'd been given a box of shortbread for Christmas it would definitely be gone by now Wink
I fancy some shortbread now.

My dinner tonight wasn't too bad actually health wise. Oven cooked chicken fillet with some sort of Italian tomato sauce, boiled potatoes and peas..... I then followed that with a Turkish Delight bar! Oh and a can of Irn Bru and a glass of ribena. Glad I have come to bed really as I would just carry on snacking!

Sorry for the double post!

smogsville · 10/02/2015 22:15

Yeah FiRaffe I was going to say that too. Did you just forget about the shortbread?!

Ebwy are you ok?

daholster · 10/02/2015 23:01

Hi all, another day of ups and downs for everyone eh? Glad we seem to have got to the end unscathed though...

dances how is your little girl?

Thanks for all your thoughts. Apparently dh's relocation might only be short term (2 months) but it might not. I am trying not to think about it unless it becomes not short term any more. No point in worrying when it might all be fine after all.

I had the most ridiculous day at work. I couldn't even begin to try and explain. Lets put it this way... My job should not involve the police. Today it involved the armed response team... That took 2.5hrs out of my day Angry

At 2 hours past my finish time the computer broke and I couldn't finish all my work. At that point I decided to sod it and leave the rest of my paperwork and finish it on Thursday! I soooooooo wanted a G&T when I got in!!! With lots of lime... Oh but I am pregnant so I can't! I have an alcohol free beer instead. It isn't quite the same...

I will be so glad to get in bed this evening...!

daholster · 11/02/2015 06:15

Argh why am I awake??? I didn't get to sleep til 1am! Oh, could it because dh got up at 05.30 to put the oven onn and is now downstairs making biscuits for work?! And came to bed in between to give me a cuddle and chat while he was waiting for it to heat up? I'm not complaining about the cuddle. (Well I am, I should have been asleep, now I'm awake, not sleepy but very tired and a little headachey and losing precious snooze time while dd is asleep! )Hmm

Men... Love him though...

Wonder if I can sleep some more... Or if there will be Brew Please sleep dd...

yawn

31+1

Lauren82000 · 11/02/2015 07:26

I had a rubbish nights sleep, I went for a wee at about 1am and it was such a gushing long wee I thought my waters had gone. Confused Freaked me out but I eventually managed to get back to sleep.

PenguinPoser · 11/02/2015 07:27

Oh wow daholster can't even imagine what required the presence of armed police - what a day!! Sorry you haven't slept well. I took a piriton last night and managed to sleep for about 5 hours which isn't bad at the moment!

Need to head back to pharmacy today... Pretty sure some of the tablets I was given yesterday are wrong, as the prescription says 500mg and the tablets themselves are clearly printed with 150mg, so
I either want them changed or assurance from a pharmacist that I am taking the right thing not just some random meds they have put in a brown bottle. Bit worrying really Hmm

Hope everyone has a good day!

PenguinPoser · 11/02/2015 07:29

Cross post Lauren are you leaking at all? If you're worried call mw! Although hopefully it was just a massive wee!

FiRaffe · 11/02/2015 07:38

Oh dear daholster - work and lack of sleep don't sound fun! I hope your DD decides to have a nice quiet, sleepy day!

Lauren - hope all is okay too.

Penguin - definitely get it checked! There is quiet a big difference there. They have no upped the number you take by any chance have they to make up for not having any at the right strength?

And we got 2 tins of shortbread for Christmas. Trying to be really good and not indulge! I had a bmi of 35 at booking so really wanted to try and not give them any reason to stop me having a water birth if all goes okay! They will give it to mums with a higher bmi if the consultant signs off - he was happy when I saw him in December, but have to wait for final sign off on 10th March.

daholster · 11/02/2015 07:46

dd is awake. I told dh he was a pest. And I didn't get a brew!!! He apologised. I am so tired and doing that stupid shift pattern again tomorrow and Friday.

What a whinge bag I am!

Hidingthefear · 11/02/2015 07:48

Thank you everyone for the well wishes, made me :) managed a slice of bread and a packet of salted crisps without being sick so I think I'm getting there. Just need plenty of fluids.
DH went to parent craft on his own and brought me home some handouts. The midwife recognised him and thanked him for coming, he seemed quite proud :)

Here's a birthing video if anyone wants to see something without gore that's a lot more relaxed. [ birthing video]]
it gets a little drawn out in the middle so we skipped on a bit but the end in the pool was lovely. Exciting to think we'll have our own newborns in just a few weeks time :D

I don't think so Penguin but I have had quite a bit of discharge this morning so I do feel a bit damp Blush. Least it freaked me out enough to start carrying my notes.

Baby is still bumbling away quite nicely and I have no pain. So it could of just been a huge wee and sleep deprived brain making more of it than it was. Will keep an eye out for reduced movement and leakage and see how it goes. I'd never get hold of the mw and I think ringing delivery suite (which is what your supposed to do round here if there is a problem) is a bit much. I can see how that conversation would go.
'Yer, erm I had a huge wee last night and I thought it was my water breaking'
just sounds like I'm overreacting doesn't it. Grin

RL20 · 11/02/2015 08:59

Daholster that's hilarious, what sort of biscuits does he make for work?!

Lauren bless you I would feel the same. I know what you mean about feeling silly.
I ended up ringing the midwife one day last week after my partner had gone to work at 5.30am. I'd been sort of awake since 4.30am and felt like I hadn't felt much movement as I normally do feel something in the morning or inbetween my night toilet trips. My partner went to work and suddenly I stared panicking once I was on my own and was frantically tickling my belly and got a cold drink but still didn't feel anything. So I ended up ringing and driving to the hospital in tears at 6am! The midwives weren't happy that I'd drove on my own as on the phone they'd asked me if someone could drive for me. I didn't have time for that!
Thankfully everything was ok and they put me on the monitor etc. It was lovely because they leave you in the room for around half an hour on your own just listening to baby's heartbeat.

Part of me felt silly because he started moving as soon as she put the straps around my belly, but then the other part of me felt so relieved and it was worth the mad drive just to know everything was ok.
So like you say keep an eye out for the reduced movements but hopefully everything's ok and it was just a big wee! Grin

Firaffe I didn't realise they still used BMI as a measurement, wow a water birth, I hadn't even really given other options much thought!

Has anyone else been weighing themselves? I haven't ?? Then again I don't actually own a set of scales!

daholster · 11/02/2015 09:11

Hiding I liked the very end and all the stroking by dp Smile I am however now terrified that I am going to do it all again!

Here is the new MLU at my hospital. Shame I can't go in it Envy

RL20 · 11/02/2015 09:17

Wow that's lovely! How come you can't use it?

Lauren82000 · 11/02/2015 09:19

RL I weighed myself the other day. I've put on a stone and a half so far. It's pretty much all baby and boobs as I haven't grown anywhere else and just have a football at the front. When the mw measured me at 28w she commented on it being so neat and even called to her healthcare assistant who was busy labelling my bloods how cute my bump was. (Doesn't half make you preen a bit that even health professionals think your bump is nice. Hormones make you so neurotic.Smile)

I put on 2 stone with DD so I'm still within what I'd expect for me weight wise.

daholster · 11/02/2015 09:20

RL it's only because he is leaving the project on Friday. He made chocolate chip cookies... The soft and sticky in the middle sort. He left us two so dd has had toast and cookie for breakfast - she looks like she has been digging face first in a chocolate box!!!

daholster · 11/02/2015 09:25

I can't go in it due to having to be consultant led because of a diagnosis of HHT (it's easier to Google it than explain!) and also I have a stoma (ileostomy) from a subtotal colectomy due to UC, along with my left over rectum stitched up onto my abdomen very low and hidden just below the skin (looks like a c section scar) in case it continues to flare and goes pop - so my anatomy is a bit wrong too! That's called a mucous fistula. Well, you did ask... I am therefore only allowed to be in the unfinished CLU Sad

daholster · 11/02/2015 09:29

Oh, and weight gain is 9kg so far (about 1st 5lbs). Bizarrely it seems to have stopped in the third trimester though.

3 posts in a row, sorry! All this cross posting!

RL20 · 11/02/2015 09:37

Lauren - I'm the same! Obviously I don't know how much weight I've actually put on but my bump has only been visible through my work top (which is baggy) in the last few weeks! I'm currently 30+2. So I feel all bump and boobs too. Though I've probably put on a little at the tops of my legs as that's normally where the majority of my weight goes anyway. Do you know what gender your little one is?

Daholster- the cookies sound yum!
Wow I see what you mean, confusing! That's a shame you can't have that room though!? Though I suppose it's all health and safety I'm guessing, which can't be a bad thing

TinyTear · 11/02/2015 09:40

I will see how much I have put on tomorrow, but at last weigh-in (2 weeks ago) I had put on about 1kg...

But don't envy me as I was bIIiiiiig to start with and changed my diet to be more low GI/Lower carb straight away... and I have gestational diabetes...

smogsville · 11/02/2015 10:04

Here's hoping for a quiet day daholster. I too am interested in your DH baking for work...

Penguin good for you for checking.

Lauren I literally spend my whole life weeing. It's getting quite ridiculous. Sigh.

RL - no weighing here we don't have scales. I was about 58kg when they last weighed me at anomaly scan but that was 9 wks ago and I wasn't showing then so heaven knows what sort of numbers we'd be talking about now. I'm only 5ft 1 so I basically resemble a booby, bumpy barrel with stumpy little limbs poking out! Oh well BF will sort it out.

30wks today, 9 wks and a day to
go until section provided baby doesn't make an early break. Suddenly feeling hospital bag needs to be fully packed now, all furniture sorted, DD in new room, garden sorted by DH all at once. Need to calm down!

BananaToast · 11/02/2015 10:12

Lauren I also had a surprisingly big wee in the night! Must have drunk more than I thought yesterday evening.

RL I've put on 1st 4lb at 30 weeks - and like daholster have found it's slowed right down in the last couple of weeks. I lost a few lbs in the first trimester, then put on 1-2lbs/week(!) in the second trimester, now it's slowed to about 0.5lb/week. Hopefully will continue at that rate for the remainder...

daholster your DH is so sweet getting up early to bake cookies - they sound amazing!
