penguin can you go in late? Or get some stuff you need doing nearer work, if you know what I mean? I would be worrying too. Piece of mind would make you feel a whole lot better.

Yep it was muscle cramp, it was unpleasant! Gone this morning though thankfully. Last night was the first time I had thought I might be starting not to cope with my stoma. Its getting difficult to change bags cos I can't see what I'm doing, it hurts sometimes and I get fed up with it at the best of times! My digestion is slowing down too. This cramp was weird and quite unpleasant. A tiny bit of me hoped he'd arrive early, then I felt terrible for thinking that and remembered how I am his mum and will do anything for him - so pain/sickness whatever I told myself I'd let him stay put til he was ready/the doctors said he had to be born. So I will have to stop being a wuss and crack on! 5 more weeks to go before annual leave when I can just do out of hours at my leisure for 2 weeks and flop all day!

Oh nooo, I moved, and my cramp is coming back!!! Angry sigh

TheBooMonster · 09/02/2015 07:11

Haven't caught up, will have a read when I get back to a computer. But those cramps were 6 mins apart by 7pm last night so we went into full battle stations. Turned out to be a (painful) false alarm which sorted it's self out once they fed me oramorph! Just waiting for breakfast then it sounds like I'm going home...

daholster · 09/02/2015 07:15

Ps Just rant away, as you can tell it helps me to just "let it all out" even though I might be boring you lot to death Grin Sorry...

Btw penguin staying home to get yourself checked out is perfectly excusable. Do what you feel is best deep down, you don't want to have any regrets, no matter how unlikely that may actually be.

AnniaFausta · 09/02/2015 07:16

daholster, I may not be able to relate but I can certainly sympathise. I hope you got a decent night's sleep in the end, and I'm glad the cramp or whatever it was has worn off now - and I hope it stays that way!!

Boo, glad it was a false alarm.

Penguin, phone the maternity unit and describe your symptoms. They've always been wonderful with me when I've called in in a panic, and will be able to give you the best advice.

daholster · 09/02/2015 07:17

boo how unpleasant for you! Glad you are feeling better though. Rest up and take it easy I think! Hopefully someone can cone and help you with dd? They are exhausting and your cramping will surely be worse if you are on your feet all the time. Look after yourself Flowers

FiRaffe · 09/02/2015 07:18

Glad it's not baby coming Boo - hope you're feeling better

squatting thanks, not really. So long as it keeps working and doesn't get blocked - when they might decide to deliver him eat if I can't get food through any more - then my surgeon just said he will repair any damage after my pregnancy. So just got to ride it out really.

Please do share about getting the fabric off th maxi cosi? Want it all clean for ds to vomit on and make dirty again all by himself!

BananaToast · 09/02/2015 07:48

Urgh woken up with a horrible headache. Think I might call in sick, I really don't want to sit in front of my computer all day. Feel soft doing that though.

In happier news I'm 30 weeks today - feels very exciting having the number start with a 3.

londonlivvy · 09/02/2015 07:57

Oof. Shattered this morning. Started to get regular stomach pains at4pm with tightenings of the stomach, resulting in hard hard bump. Properly painful. Every three minutes or so. Thought Braxton Hicks weren't supposed to be painful? Anyway called the midwife who said to come in.

We went in once we'd got dd to bed and the babysitter over (7pm) and they did a trace (fine), urine test (no UTI) and a swab testing for being in labour (fine) so eventually said I could stay over for observation or go home. I said I'd rather go home as it'd make the morning simpler (DH had to leave by 730 this morning for a v important meeting). Slept a bit but pretty sore and sorry for myself. Glad we went in (hospital bag already packed so wasn't panicking on that score) and the staff were lovely - didn't once imply that I was being a drama queen.

Today I'm exhausted. And sore. Less sore tum, obvs, but generally wiped.

This pregnancy malarkey. Oof.

londonlivvy · 09/02/2015 07:58

boo sounds like we had similar evenings. Commiserations.

PenguinPoser · 09/02/2015 08:13

Oh dear sounds like we are all suffering! It's not very glam this 3rd trimester is it!? Glad things are ok Boo and london hope you can both take it easy today.

I feel so guilty but have phoned in sick - I know I'm probably fine but if I do have anything that could affect the baby and something happened I would blame myself for delayed diagnosis. Think I need to start putting baby and myself first. Mainly baby! If baby is fine I can cope with the itching (well I will have to!). Just feel bad as me being off for a day unplanned impacts quite a lot of people. But I wouldn't think badly of anyone doing the same even if it was a colleague whose work I was then having to cover.

Anyway community midwife office no one answering yet and GP surgery doesn't open until 8.30 so will see who I manage to get through to first. Failing all of that I'm calling the hospital!

BrixtonBunny · 09/02/2015 08:21

Hello - have been a bit absent as we've completed on the hues so it's all systems go go go to get people in to start making it habitable before we move in in just over five weeks Confused

Sorry so many are feeling crap - I had my first bout of proper insomnia in ages, woke up at 4am after an anxiety dream about being quoted £5,000 to replaster the kitchen (seems almost funny now) and then couldn't get back to sleep until gone 6am. Work today is not going to be fun.

London, Boo, it sounds like you've both had very scary evenings - so glad they are false alarms! You're making me think that I need to finish off my hospital bag.

Penguin, Banana, don't feel bad about calling in sick - you need to listen to your bodies.

Daholster sorry your stoma is giving you cause for concern. That's a nice way of looking at it though (that you're putting up with things for the baby).

Will read back properly later.

BrixtonBunny · 09/02/2015 08:22

On the hues? The house!!

Lauren82000 · 09/02/2015 08:43

Well I didn't have a great night either, DH got up at some point and decided to route his inhaler out of his gym back in the wardrobe for a quick puff. The next minute he fell on me! I was all wtf and all he could say was I fell over. Freaked me right out. So then I didn't sleep properly thinking nothing can happen to him as what would i do without him? Confused This morning we came to the conclusion his inhaler made him light headed and he pretty much fainted on me. (Good job I was facing the other way and he didn't land on bump) so I'm pretty knackered this morning, although I think baby has gone head down as I'm getting kicked in my stomach not ribs or side for once. Which is a great improvement from transverse like usual. A step in the right direction even if it is too early yet.

daholster · 09/02/2015 08:43

Thanks all, just feeling a bit pathetic. Now I'm up and about and dd is up my mind is busier with other things so I am sure I will be mope free for a bit!

London sounds like you did the right thing. They say BHs get stronger as time goes on, it moves in to prelabour (practice contractions). Unfortunately some people get it on and off for weeks and others don't notice it at all!

Exciting about the house brixton. Agreed that if you are wondering about whether to call in sick then the right answer for you and baby is probably yes!

daholster · 09/02/2015 08:46

lauren that would have freaked me out too! Poor you!

kismac · 09/02/2015 08:48

We're all falling apart. Glad everything is ok Boo and London and it was just a false alarm.

Daholster, I hope the pain settles down. I've said it too where I want the baby now but then felt horrible for saying it. Pregnancy is really tough.

Penguin and Banana, take the time off to look after yourself. You and the baby is far more important than work.

I was sick this morning, after not being sick for a week. My face is now really puffy. I really wanted to stay in bed but we've got guys in painting the windows. Sat at work wanting to cry. Oh well.

PenguinPoser · 09/02/2015 08:52

Congratulations Brixton glad it has all gone through! Sounds a bit stressful getting it all sorted but will be worth it to be in your new house with baby Smile

Lauren how scary I would have been freaked out too. I think with all the hormones and everything it's normal to worry about people, I've been having occasional irrational worries about DH and something happening to him even though I have no reason to think that it should.

Going to maternity assessment unit at 2.30 this afternoon midwife on the phone was a bit brisk and said my mw should have done bloods last week! But seemed happy to see me anyway. Feel more justified now!

Lauren82000 · 09/02/2015 08:57

Oh dear we are all in the wars aren't we. I'm sat at work waiting for my computer to behave itself. Been here since 8.20 and it's still struggling to open webpages and emails! It's making that I'm thinking noise which makes me think it's doing some sort of update/security scan but just not showing what it's doing.

Might have to get my knitting out at this rate it's taking forever!Confused It's like Windows 95 all over again!!!

AnniaFausta · 09/02/2015 08:59

After hearing everyone else's nighttime adventures, I'm feeling as if I got off lightly with our escape-the-room drama! Hope everyone's Mondays are smooth and calm.

Lauren82000 · 09/02/2015 08:59

Well that doesn't sound very reassuring that your mw is competent Penguin if she forgot to do your 28w bloods. Confused Least you'll get it all sorted now so try not to worry too much.

Siarie · 09/02/2015 09:16

Last night was alright for me, I slept badly the night before though just couldn't get to sleep. I need to ring my GP later to change my 31 week appointment to one with a GP rather than the midwife. The midwife at my 28 week appointment didn't say it had to be with a GP but I've just looked at my notes and it says "with GP".

So annoying, I don't like how I never see the same person either. Also when I looked through my notes there are loads of boxes that should have been ticked. For things like flu and whooping cough yet no one seems to bother, I actually don't know why I carry these notes around because I could tell any hospital everything in it.

I find people not doing their jobs properly my number one annoyance in case you hadn't noticed.

RL20 · 09/02/2015 09:24

Glad everything's ok Boo, and hopefully it stays that way and you can go home!

Have read that a few ladies have had different sorts of panics now.
Which makes me want to start packing my hospital bag!
I am going to start it soon.
10 weeks left for me as of today! (Hopefully)

PenguinPoser · 09/02/2015 09:27

That is annoying siarie many areas the GP doesn't do any antenatal appts at all - I wonder why it's with them rather than midwife. Ah no Lauren she didn't forget my 28w bloods I had those a few weeks ago - I had mentioned the itching but she said it was probably normal but other mw was implying she should have checked my liver function etc last week. Anyway as you say it doesn't matter as I'm getting seen. Hope your computer has sorted itself out!
