There is defo something in the air because I also feel at the end of my tether and sympathies to all others suffering. Slept terribly sat nite and last night was up every hour. Then leapt out of bed this am with agonising calf cramps. Now just feel like wailing.
I like my job but it's getting too tiring already. I was working all weekend which doesn't help. It's 40hrs a week which is normally fine but anyone else feeling like its a struggle to just function at the mo?
32+2

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 09/02/2015 10:06

I'm struggling to cope... but then I got to bed at 11.30, eldest woke and needed his mammy at 1am, then youngest was crying and sobbing so I've been up since 4.30... tired!

might have to try to get him to nap early and join in!

Lauren82000 · 09/02/2015 10:08

Oh yes chicken it's a struggle and I'm 2 and a bit weeks behind you! The back of my hip/pelvis has now decided to hurt. It's the side the baby prefers to dig its head/bum in so I reckon it's in a funny position and pressing on something it shouldn't. Going to have to dig out the paracetamol.

I don't know about anyone else but this pregnancy has been far more stressful than it was the first time with DD. I must of floated around in blissful ignorance as I really enjoyed being pregnant with her. This one has just been worry after irrational worry. Almost putting me off having any more. But then I think every pregnancy is different so might get a hassle free one next time. Wink

daholster · 09/02/2015 10:11

I just feel much more exhausted and sore than I remember being last time, although by the end cos I was ill I did begin to struggle. But definitely not this early! Reasoning is I think that dd doesn't let me rest whenever I feel like it - last time if I was a bit sore I'd sit down, if I was tired I'd have a weekend lie in... This time the toddler means I just carry on til the end of the day then collapse in bed, sleep badly and get up fairly early!!!

AnniaFausta · 09/02/2015 11:03

Tea and a chocolate biscuit, Ewby - hope you do get a chance for a nap today.

We have new doors fitted on the build-in wardrobes in the spare room! One step of the redecorating down, only [mumble] to go!!

(They look jolly nice too.)

ChickenMe · 09/02/2015 11:44

It's so exhausting isn't it? I haven't even got any kids yet-just a rather enthusiastic cat. I feel like I am down to the last few brain cells. To add insult to injury over the past week or so have started to feel sick again!!!
A fellow pregnant woman at my work is planning to work up to 39w and she works in Islington. I think that's bonkers!

FiRaffe · 09/02/2015 11:47

I know what you mean Chicken - my brain and body feel like they are going on strike. Still only 29 weeks, it can only get more tiring...Yay! It is nice knowing it's not just me though, but really sorry you're all (well mostly) going through it too!

ChickenMe · 09/02/2015 12:07

Baby must be taking every nutrient going Fi. I suppose now it is starting to fatten up. I think I had a "can't carry on" moment around your gestation time. So it is normal!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2015 12:36

Yay on the house BrixtonBunny!

Glad to hear it was a false alarm TheBooMonster!

Feel free to vent at any point daholster, just because we don't understand doesn't mean we can't empathise and generally be supportive!

Sorry for all those feeling ill and tired.

I randomly woke up in the middle of Saturday night and was violently sick. Stomach definitely intent on totally emptying itself! Then went back to sleep. Felt a bit delicate yesterday morning but then fine and so is everyone else so put it down to a busy stressful day and being pregnant.

I'm not worried about coping until I have the baby it's just after!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 09/02/2015 12:38

still no nap. I've set an alarm for school run time optimistically!

TinyTear · 09/02/2015 12:48

heartburn has arrived... only mildly, hopefully...

shite night last night as well, DD and DH sleeping peacefully but i was just tossing and turning and my hips have been a bit playful... ahrgh...

and back to work today after a week off... funnily enough bloods this morning were high for fasting and breakfast... i wonder if work raises my blood sugar levels...

Siarie · 09/02/2015 12:55

I phoned the midwife number I have and asked whether I really need to see a GP or whether I can just keep my midwife appointment. The lady on the phone just said keep the midwife appointment so that's what I'm doing.

Although I'll probably get told off when I get there haha!

I'm definitely starting to feel like I could be done now, I said to DH last night that while I'm glad I'm keeping her in the best place for her right now. I do kind of envy those who give birth at say 37 weeks as that seems much closer than 40.

Squidge14 · 09/02/2015 13:37

Afternoon ladies! Been absent for a couple of days so just been catching up.

Hope everyone is feeling better today, it doesn't seem to have been a good weekend all round, glad they are all false alarms though

Brixton congrats on the completion!! Our move is finally picking up steam (the seller decided not to buy on after all and will in fact go into rented as planned...woohoo!) searches all done and back, draft contract been sent back with enquiries etc so hopefully still on track for March Grin

Going back a few pages, we have decided on the Bugaboo Chameleon, I love it! I tried a few out but this was my fave by far and it is suitable for 'off roading' which will be useful as I have 2 horses and will be planning on baby coming to lots of competitions! As siarie said though, horses for courses and all that!

After the panic earlier in the thread about having no clue how to look after a newborn, I bought a book for my kindle called 'First time parents' so far I'm enjoying it and learning a lot, will update once I've finished but recommend for anyone else wanting some reading material!

BrixtonBunny · 09/02/2015 13:47

Squidge that's brilliant news!! Hurrah! Hope you can get in soon as planned, will keep everything crossed for you.

Our uppababy vista should be delivered in the next few weeks (thanks for the tip Tiny!). Quite excited to play with it as haven't seen it in the flesh - we ordered the 2015 model but have only seen the older model. Car seat should come next week so that's all the big baby purchases done at least.

Cinnamon that sounds horrible. Maybe baby kicked you in the stomach?

BrixtonBunny · 09/02/2015 13:49

Tiny my hips are being very tricksy as well - stood up in the office and limped the first few steps as my hips are so stiff! Need to do some more yoga, have been terrible at going because it's on a Sunday. Will YouTube some later today!

BrixtonBunny · 09/02/2015 13:51

Oh and smogs, if you're still considering built in wardrobes (I think the price put you off?) we've been quoted £790 for two floor to ceiling ones. Let me know if you want contractor details. Grin

daholster · 09/02/2015 14:16

Liking all the good news about houses!

Think we might have to let dd drop her nap Sad What timing!!! There goes my nice quiet 2hrs in the afternoon to catch up on sleep/tidying. She's not even two yet, it feels far too early to me. But she just won't and it isn't fair leaving her bored in her cot for an hour while we wait and hope! I am still giving her chance (she's in there now but is making up games) but I think if we go a week at home without a sleep that will have to be that. Still, I think it means we will be able to out her to bed earlier. But that is really hard when we aren't home from work until almost her bedtime then Sad. Once I'm on maternity leave I will let her sleep in and go to bed later. Not sure how all this will work for the next 5 weeks though...

I hate grouting. It takes blimmin' ages! Done half of it so dad can try to get the sink in and will do the rest later.

I'm going to try and grab a nap while dd is playing...

cinnamongreyhound · 09/02/2015 14:53

What does she do with who she's with while you're working daholster?

It's weird BrixtonBunny, I was fast asleep and just woke up with heartburn and felt almost instantly nauseous! I think if it had been food poisoning it would have gone on longer or some own else would have got it.

My friend came for a cuppa this afternoon and she thinking of leaving her Dh :( I feel so sad for her as it must be such a tough decision with 2 kids but he's an arse and move never liked him, he treats her so badly and I'm amazed she's put up with it all these years. She works nearly time, looks after the kids does all cooking and cleaning and he still says he doesn't know what he wants from her. He goes on holidays without her and spends money without mentioning it to her. She said she has never had a lay in since she had the kids and the eldest is nearly 8 and he's never bathed the kids! But he's still her Dh and she loves him for some reason so I knownhow hard it must be!

Lauren82000 · 09/02/2015 15:04

Oh Cinnamon leaving a relationship is never easy, your poor friend. It does sound like her DH is a bit selfish though. Is he one of the 'you wanted the kids you deal with them' crowd? My bosses DP is like that with theirs, although he apparently has gotten better.

Let's hope she talks it over with him and he finally pulls his finger out.

After having a thoroughly productive morning at work, I've run out of steam. Don't want to do anything now and got another 2 hours left to fill and my computer is still behaving oddly. Just flicked through all of the applications I've got open and finally settled back on the internet so I could finish typing!

Siarie · 09/02/2015 15:21

I've got my first antenatal class with DH this evening, it's run through my GP so no idea what to expect! Glad we're both going so it's not so daunting!

daholster · 09/02/2015 15:35

cinnamon she naps at nursery... Straight after lunch, but usually after stroking the other kids to sleep Hmm The difference there is that everyone is asleep, there isn't anything else to do and she knows she isn't missing out I think.

I try to do the same routine as close as possible - ie lunch then nap but she just doesn't respond well to that.

She did fall asleep today. It took about 45mins I think (I was asleep Blush ). Door shut cos dad was drilling. Even if I make the house quiet so she knows she isn't missing out naps are a struggle these days so any sort of change eg grandpa here and she often just won't settle.

It's really hard to know whether to stick with it or change the routine so that days at home are nap-less... Any thoughts appreciated.

Ugh cinnamon that sounds nasty. Still, at least you missed out on the feeling sick for ages beforehand and just waiting for it stage which is perhaps the worst bit!

daholster · 09/02/2015 15:56

Just been googling about toddler sleep. I think I'll stick with a quiet period in her cot when she looks tired in the afternoon, so she has the opportunity to sleep if she needs to, and accept that she is going to be one of these toddlers that drops their nap by needing it on fewer and fewer days, so having some days where she goes all day. On no nap days we can aim for earlier bed, 7pm instead of 8pm (although she often falls asleep at almost 9pm when she has napped so obviously isn't quite ready yet so maybe actually accepting 8.30pm would be better). She crashed in bed at 7.15pm on Saturday after no nap and slept til 8am so she obviously needs about 13hrs a day one way or another.

Children are so complicated!!!

daholster · 09/02/2015 15:58

Luckily our bedtime routine of bath, story then bed is the trigger for bed, not a particular tv program at a certain time or anything, though of course we try to keep it pretty similar (lately it's just taken her longer and longer to go to sleep at night though, so probably another sign that she just needs less sleep overall now).
