So this evening I feel like baby has suddenly changed position and not to (wait for it) beat about the bush, it feels like he's kicking me in the fanjo.

I am praying he climbs back up to belly button height. Now needing the loo almost permanently.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 07/02/2015 21:00

Ebwy just looked up your buggy - that looks ace, and a bargain too! I'll have to show DP to see what he thinks, because he now agrees that having a smaller buggy for the car that DS and DD can both use wouldn't be the worst idea in the world

the handles were long enough for their 6'2" father to push (not that he ever did, mind... ) and comfy for me at 5'1.5"

I've never had any problems with it at all, including overloading the handles with shopping. I got the lime green one, wish I'd gone for purple though because lime green shows up all the dirt. And the purple isn't "girly" at all....

the only reason I've got something different this time is that I've always wanted a "proper" pram or a buggy that has a carry cot, and since my partner wanted to indulge me I've got one this time! will still be using the vooom though for trips out because I don't like using double buggy (will be using that for school runs until I'm up to chasing my 2 year old back onto the buggy board though!)

AnniaFausta · 07/02/2015 21:02

I fell asleep for an hour this afternoon after last night's adventures... woke up just in time for parents to ring and say they were on their way over to help with furniture moving. So we now have all the furniture out of the two spare rooms (or as good as), which means we can get the decorators in without having to worry about me doing any carrying/lifting that I shouldn't do. Another step in the right direction, although it is all a bit scary and we now have slightly rearranged furniture. Oh, and I have the spare bedroom mattress obstructing the bookshelves in the study, which will be PITA if I need to get to anything, but never mind!

Dad also did a couple of little jobs we've been meaning to do in the study, including putting up a pinboard, so I am v excited as this means the room is FINALLY finished after being on the 'almost done' list for months!

DH did not have a nap, and was knackered after furniture moving duties, so I ended up cooking dinner. Thank goodness for filled pasta and all the veg in the fridge that could do with using up.

Glad I'm not the only one! I read an article/story in a magazine the other day and someone had said "I gave birth to her 2 months early", and I thought "I've only got 2 months to go!" She was at my stage when she have birth! Which made me panic although I do think we have everything now other than the Isofix base for the car seat, a few bits and bobs like the Tommee Tippee bottle warmer, and then just to keep stocking up on milk and nappies!
Crazy!

smogsville · 07/02/2015 21:17

Squatting you don't think it means they're trying to make an early break for it or anything do you? How long has yours been in this position? The kicks are suddenly so low some almost feel like they're in my bum which is obviously ridiculous but only way I can describe it.

Yes Squatting have just looked it up and it seems breech is the best explanation. I feel like it's suddenly happened this evening - defo wasn't like that at 28 wk appt last Saturday. I really hope he flips back it's much less comfortable this way!

PenguinPoser · 07/02/2015 22:00

Ah Boo how exciting that you've finished work! You must be the first one of us to finish!? I have 10 days left over the next 3 weeks (and counting)! Bad luck about your meal though - fish and chips sounds nice but I agree would have been nice to go out and celebrate.

I feel like time is absolutely flying too. Feel quite prepared in terms of 'stuff' but haven't fully accepted that I am having an actual real life baby. Only physic thing a we need still are the snuzpod and travel system both of which are ordered.

I've just got back from a nice curry with some friends. They have gone out for drinks but with a 32w bump on a Saturday night in busy bars when I can't drink and have sore hips... Can't help feeling like a bit of a party pooper though! Probably going out again later to collect DH from wherever he ends up on this stag do. Fun!

FiRaffe · 07/02/2015 22:04

I'm definitely starting to get to the worry baby is coming early point. I'm sure i'Lloyd probably still be sitting here in May waiting for this baby to arrive!!!!

FiRaffe · 07/02/2015 22:05

Stupid phone i'll not i'Lloyd!

daholster · 07/02/2015 22:10

Sitting in with an early start of a cold, a bag of Maltesers, San Pellegrino Lemonade and shopping for bed socks for dd who won't stay under her blanket at night and wakes up cold... (She is fed up with sleeping bags so don't want to go back to that from her duvet...) Toddler bed socks sound like a good plan!

Spent a few hundred pounds on getting stuff to finish the downstairs cloakroom today. Dh will be annoyed. Its tough, I want it finished and that is just how much plumbing stuff and tiling stuff costs!!! I will be tiling tomorrow...

Ds is still breech I think too and very good at kicking!

The consultant I emailed has switched my next appointment to 26th Feb so I can see her instead of the registrar. It puts my growth scan back to 33 weeks but thats ok. Result!

smogsville · 07/02/2015 22:19

Daholster - you tile?! Wow.

I am not enjoying having a breech baby all of a sudden. Shall I stand on my head to make him go back up?!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/02/2015 22:24

In general keep your legs together PenguinPoser, swing both out together before you get out of bed or the car. Don't oush objects with your foot and vacuuming is meant to be very bad.

Sorry you're getting high readings minipie, hope they can help on Tuesday Flowers

I bought a second hand one this time Lauren82000 as it was much cheaper!

We always buy cards but that's it for Valentine's Day, I am massively romantic but dh isn't amd we're poor! I'd use any excuse to go out for dinner or do something romantic but I'd have to organise it and that's not really the point.

Move is all done but I'm knackered! Mil had done nothing when we got there so had to sort, pack and clean as well as moving and unpacking what we could at the other end. She insisted on taking nearly everything but we managed in one trip with three cars (ours with no seats in so kind of like a van). Dh then drove fil's old car back for us to sell so I had to drive our car back on my own. My lovely mum fed us and had walked the dogs though. Off to bed now, night all!

TheBooMonster · 07/02/2015 23:01

penguin I expect I am the first to finish. I wanted to be finished in time for 37 weeks in case they induce me, and they wanted me to use all my holiday before I went, so with 5 and half weeks holiday and the way the weeks fall I've ended up leaving at 31 weeks on the dot. This is still rather shockingly later than I left last time, but last time I left the week before my wedding, and we'd done 0% baby prep because of all the wedding focus, so I had a lot of catch up to do!

Have been sat watching hospital bag videos... Curling irons... newborn shoes... I feel like I've packed light in comparison!! Did see something totally cute though, one woman said she'd packed a toy to go in the bag for some of the newborn pics, so they could take pics with baby every week or so and the toy would give an idea of scale as baby grew. I've already put a toy in the bag (cuddly mouse) so I'm totally stealing that as an excuse!! And having watched the video's I'm taking a pair of pj's and most of the breast pads out of the labour bag.

Fab news on the results with getting the consultant to do your appointment daholster!

dancestomyowntune · 07/02/2015 23:13

That buggy (the vooom) looks perfect. Will show dh in the morning and hopefully get it ordered. Only £50 on amazon too! Thanks for the recommendation.

Having had Tiger-Rose on Wednesday today it has suddenly hit me and I have been a bit down and teary. Tiger-Rose is still doing really well, even though they have prodded and popped and fussed her quite a bit today because one of her iv lines wasn't working and needed replacing, which proved to be quite difficult to re-site (not surprising when she is so tiny).

Also I had been planning to do a big baby shop this month, so although we had a few bits, most of the baby essentials are still needing to be born. My mum came in the other day with a beautiful bag of clothes (that won't fit her for about three months I'm sure!), and I have spent the time on the ward frantically ordering off eBay and Amazon as I think of things. And now I am looking for a decent electric breast pump for when I am discharged as I am currently expressing for her and plan to continue, certainly until her due date and probably longer as she really needs it. Originally I had planned to formula feed (as I have done in the past) and I still plan to use bottles as I am not confident breast feeding in public and I like to see what the babies are actually taking.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow. I am exhausted and not sleeping very well at the moment too which isn't helping I think.

Siarie · 07/02/2015 23:49

Go technically start SMP Monday, it didn't make much difference when I started it so went for asap. Working through my husbands business so I wont notice much difference, he will just have to do his accounts for a bit!

Siarie · 07/02/2015 23:50

I technically*

ChickenMe · 07/02/2015 23:50

Can you tell if it is breech then? Mine is always squashing my bladder and sometimes there are weird pushes in the cervix. I don't get any feeling its about to come imminently...I hope!!
Ah you do sound exhausted dances I hope you can get some sort of rest and have a clearer head tomor.

ChickenMe · 07/02/2015 23:58

At my NCT class they said have you got an alternative birth partner in case OH got stranded. I said no it will have to be the cat.
I'm sure it's unlikely a first baby will come uber-quick but do they like you to have an alternative?

As Squatting said Dances, from everything i've read it's normal to be a bit sad and teary around now. Good use of the time buying on Amazon and Ebay though - have you signed up for the Amazon Parent Club so you get the next day delivery and money off too?

Chicken -our NCT suggested more about having a plan and alternatives (so a taxi number ready who will take people in labour, or know if your hospital does pick ups -not 999 but some round here have a maternity car or something and will come and get people who can't get to them). Also knowing how long it takes at different times of the day to get there and where your alternative hospital might be if for some reason your hospital isn't accepting admissions.

Chococroc · 08/02/2015 08:31

I start my maternity leave at the end of next week. I'll be induced at 37/38 weeks so maternity leave needs to start then. I can't carry over my holiday til after mat leave so faced with 'use it or lose it' I'm very much using it! Seems very early (30+5) but feeling pretty ready for it now, just want to be home getting things ready (nesting?!).
