New (and probably) final thread for those of us due in March (with a few lovely February ladies who didn't want to leave).

She was hugely apologetic* not SE

fishfingerSarnies · 14/03/2015 09:45

Oh smoke that's all so stressful, especially with my issues. How long will baby have to be monitored on neo natal if you don't manage to move hospital?

Hope26 · 14/03/2015 10:25

Hello ladies. Congratulations to all the mummies, babies are beautiful.

My EDD is 22nd March and yesterday when I went to the bathroom and wiped, I noticed bright red blood, more of a smear. Is that a show? I don't think it's my mucus plug because there wasn't any mucus. I rang triage and she said monitor it but sound like early labour sign. I've have no contractions just back pain and a bit sore down below when I walk. is this baby coming earlier than expected!? I'm nervous!!

smokeandglitter · 14/03/2015 11:22

fishfingersarnies they said something about 5 days if no symptoms found in that meeting, but I just won't let that happen. It's just so wrong for us as a family unit. My dh also had a very rare form of cancer as a young teenager and finds hospitals very stressful. I've had very negative experiences in them too. I will really struggle to bond and will be much more at risk of a psychotic or depressive episode if baby is in neonatal - I can't risk it unless baby needs it in which case we would of course work it all out. So now I am just staying out of the area so if Im unable to transfer I will have to present as an emergency case at a local hospital nowhere near my home.

I guess in an extreme case if I did have to give birth in that hospital I would have to get a lawyer involved and see if they could help me but hopefully if I stay out of area then that won't happen.

smokeandglitter · 14/03/2015 14:18

Ps. Best wishes hope26, hope things happen really well Smile

fishfingerSarnies · 14/03/2015 17:52

Oh you poor thing smoke, that just seems so ridiculous I'm so sorry you're going through this, really hope it comes together in the end. 5 days is a long time for a baby to be away from its mum when there's nothing wrong!

Xx

Fondue42 · 14/03/2015 18:11

Smoke - good for you for standing up for what you feel is the right thing for you and your baby. Hopefully you will have your baby in a place that can give you both appropriate care without removing you from each other so soon after birth. Good luck!

I'm now 38+1, and feeling ok today, just tired. Felt bloody awful yesterday, exhausted, sick, sore... I do not want any more days like that!!! I hope it was just a one off, but notice a few posts from others feeling sick too, so maybe it is just another one of the joys of late pregnancy?

Feeling the same as a few of you: plenty that I could be getting on with, but if it doesn't get done and baby comes tomorrow, I'd be absolutely fine with that. Nervous, yes, but I think now it is a case of better out than in! Can't believe there is potential for up to 4 more weeks of the baby growing... I feel like a balloon! Stick me with a pin and I'll go flying round the room!

Hope26, nerves is natural for all of us... Fingers crossed that everything goes well!

theonewiththenoisychild · 14/03/2015 20:57

hope you get the birth experience you want in the end smoke it does seem ridiculous to put a healthy baby in nicu.

well im pretty fed up and uncomfortable atm getting shooting pains tonight in a very uncomfortable place Blush anyone else experiencing this? ive never had this before

Blue03 · 14/03/2015 21:27

Oh yes theone, like your little one has a tool bag and they're trying to poke their way out, and given where their head is I describe it to hubby as "disagreeing with the plug hole"! Can be very sharp at times and takes your breath away. Been getting those for a while now.

Ive had some BH today but no pain with them at all so not taking any notice.

Smoke I really hope u get a smooth start to motherhood, sending you positive wishes Thanks

smokeandglitter · 15/03/2015 09:31

Thank you for your kind messages, lovelies.

Happy mothers' day to all! I hope you all have a lovely one whether your little one is still all snuggled within you or has arrived in your arms. Smile

shelley1977 · 15/03/2015 10:20

I've has similar Theone but just since baby dropped so low, even just the pressure when I get tightening is bad x

nk1605 · 15/03/2015 19:16

I'm 39 + 6 and have had those stabbing pains below for the past few days now, 'fanny daggers' I believe is what they call them! some of them make my whole body jolt, horrible Sad scan tomorrow where they'll also discuss a sweep, no indication that anything is happening yet and I am so uncomfortable and fed up!!

smokeandglitter · 15/03/2015 20:14

What is the policy on having a sweep? I really don't want any intrusion and thought it was normal to go quite a way over 40 weeks, especially as a first timer.

In lots of pain from bad SPD and related problems but seeing as I'm still not booked into a hospital would be best for baby to wait anyway! And somehow have a feeling that my body won't feel comfortable Enough to start labour for a while because of all this confusion and stress, don't want to be having to consider sweeps or induction type things as well.

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to ask my old midwife any of this because it's just been confusing problem one after another! Haven't had a chance (or energy after all these meetings) to ask any of the less dramatic things I want really. I'm 39+1 so I guess if and when I book in somewhere new I'll be between 39+3 to 40 weeks. Empathy and hugs to all struggling/uncomfy.

MGFM · 15/03/2015 20:25

Im 40+5 tomorrow and having my first sweep. I don't think there is a general policy but I think it is usually after 40 weeks??

smokeandglitter · 15/03/2015 21:04

Thanks mgfm. Just thought maybe policy was the wrong word - bit tired! Do they push for it now, is it a routine thing?

MGFM · 15/03/2015 22:17

Midwife asked if I wanted one. I do. I dont think she would have pushed me into it though

smokeandglitter · 16/03/2015 00:03

That makes sense, thanks lovely. Had just had a weird misconception where I didn't realise they were offered around due date and thought later - only because I've no experience at all though! Smile

smokeandglitter · 16/03/2015 00:06

Obviously yours is later by 5 days, had literally just heard from a couple of people today they were seeming to be offered at around 39 weeks - I'll be quiet now and go to bed!

MGFM · 16/03/2015 00:39

I cant seem to sleep! Lol I think the only reason why mine is at 40+5 is that my midwife only has clinic on a Monday. I really don't want to go till next week! It is my birthday and don't want to share! Lol plus my mother arrives a week on sat and we really want some quality family time before she arrives. I think my baby is being lazy!

m33r · 16/03/2015 01:53

Girls. Not read back yet but wanted to announce the birth of my baby boy weighing 7lb 2oz after a very short straightforward labour.bhe was born yesterday and indeed it would seem to me labour is the easy part! Shock

For info: a lot of gym ball bouncing;nraspberry leaf leaf tea since 36-ish weeks; curry on Friday (resulted in unusual BM; dtd Saturday morning; huge walk Saturday afternoon; waters went late afternoon.

Be back to catch up properly soon. I was 39+2 btw

Blue03 · 16/03/2015 08:09

M33r congratulations! Glad it all went well.

Smoke I think the more common way is a mutual agreement between mother and mw after the 40 wk mark. Personally I want this baby OUT and asked for it at my routine appointment at 39+1, and it was turned down as this is my 2nd baby and they are apparently very effective once u have already given birth. I only heard recently of a sweep being given just before 40 weeks, they were friends of mine each expecting their 1st baby. Sorry if I've caused any confusion x

shelley1977 · 16/03/2015 08:28

congratulations m33r.
I'm 41 weeks today with baby number 6 really surprised after the last week he still isn't born. At hospital tomorrow so will see what they say, their dates differ from mine as always but hoping they will listen to me when I explain things definitely starting and any concerns I have.

theonewiththenoisychild · 16/03/2015 09:35

congratulations m33r Thanks

well i feel like im on the home straight. a week tomorrow and i should have my beautiful baby boy Grin I say should as when i went in for c section with ds air con went down in one theatre so they postponed all elective c sections until the next morning.
we are taking dc's out for tea tomorrow then dropping them off with grandparents for the night (early start wednesday for pre op and we need them to take dc's to school) we are also taking them out for the day this weekend and on monday we drop them off with the grandparents for the night (will more than likely have a early start to get to hospital for c section tuesday) im feeling rather selfish as oh wants to go for a meal just us 2 after we drop dc's off. i feel we should take them with us but can see oh's point about needing us time before baby arrives. Im just feeling guilty about it

Lifeisabeach · 16/03/2015 10:19

Congratulations m33r, lovely news!

39 weeks today, and I thought something might have been happening last night. Started getting painful BHs when I got into bed, managed to go to sleep but was woken up a couple of times in the night by them. First time I've had anything like that; up until now I've barely noticed any BHs at all.

It all seems to have stopped this morning but I feel a bit sick. Today wouldn't really be great timing as it's my Granny's funeral this afternoon. Also have loads of work to finish this week so I think I'd prefer if baby waited til this time next week!

DurhamRed · 16/03/2015 11:18

Congratulations m33r such lovely news Flowers Smile
