New (and probably) final thread for those of us due in March (with a few lovely February ladies who didn't want to leave).

Im always thirsty these days too,had a headache last few days but put it down to lack of sleep and stress.

Lifeisabeach · 24/02/2015 14:54

Just been for my 36 week MW appointment. MW is certain baby is head down and the head was only 1/5 palpable as it’s so low down in my pelvis. Explains the constant need to wee! Measuring 34cm at 36 weeks but it’s increased since last time so she was happy with that. As long as I make it to 37 weeks then I am good to go for a home birth. She’s bringing the HB box round next Monday when I’ll be 37 weeks exactly. Eeek, better start getting prepared! What do I need - plastic sheeting, old towels, pillows etc...?

In other news, my gran died on Friday :( She had celebrated her 100th birthday on 3rd Feb and had seemed so well that day, so it came as quite a shock. With my mum being so ill (terminal cancer), she won't be able to attend the funeral and has asked if I will write something about my memories of my granny to read out. Except I will be 39 weeks on the day of the funeral so who knows whether I'll actually be able to do it.

The last time I spoke to a doctor about my mum, she warned that mum probably wouldn't be here when the baby is born. But she seems fairly stable at the moment and not appearing to get any worse, so I'm just hoping the dr was wrong and she is here to meet the baby.

fishfingerSarnies · 24/02/2015 17:52

Oh life, you have so much going on! I'm sorry to hear about your gran. Fingers crossed you get your home birth and mum gets to meet your little one.

My dh suggested I have some dioralyte (had some left over from all the vomming in the first 5 months) to help with my head aches, his theory was that I'm drinking loads of water but pissing so much I might be washing out loads of minerals Hmm maybe... Any way I had one and have felt much better. All the weekness has gone and I'm not as thirsty.

Blue03 · 24/02/2015 18:41

Strange I have found myself feeling very thirsty today but haven't done anything different.

Fish I'm sure that when it comes to it, we will battle on and get out little darlings out.

Life, I feel so bad feeling sorry for myself, you have all the preggy worries as well as everything else. I really hope your mum meets your little one and so sorry to hear about your Gran x

theonewiththenoisychild · 24/02/2015 18:59

so sorry to hear about your gran life hope your mum gets to meet your little one

M27J5M · 24/02/2015 19:13

Sorry to hear about your gran lifeThanks can't imagine the turmoil you must be going through! Hoping your mum manages to meet the wee 1

HollyBen · 24/02/2015 21:24

That all sounds so difficult life Impressive that you gran made it to 100, still sad though. I hope you mum gets to see the baby. My dad died very suddenly a couple of years ago. It makes me so sad that my DD doesn't really remember him (she was 2) and that he'll never meet this baby x

fizzyrubbish · 24/02/2015 23:40

Sorry about your gran Flowers lifesabeach

Mine died a month short of her 100th, quite unexpectedly and we've all felt a bit cheated. Will you be up to speaking at the funeral?

Also sorry to hear about your mum. Life is never straightforward but it would be nice if she could hear about or see your baby before she passes. Keep fingers crossed.

m33r · 25/02/2015 07:31

life I don't know how you're managing. Thinking of you.

Glad others have the insatiable thirst! Can't get enough water and the headaches just don't seem to want to shift. Luckily I finish up work tomorrow - thank heaven for that! Was going to work til 12/3 (due - 19/3) but hr convinced me otherwise and I'm so glad they did! Roll on tomorrow!

Ellizardo · 25/02/2015 08:15

Life - can you and your Mum write the tribute to your grannie together? Might be a nice thing to share memories. Thinking of you and pleased your own child seems to be doing so well!

M33r - wow am impressed you've been working so late. I can do so from home and I'm finding it tough, pelvis is SO achy at the moment..and to top it off can't eat pudding or choc because of GD. Have midwife appt and growth scan on tues so hopefully getting more info then.

The theme of the Final Countdown is on loop in my head!

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 09:32

seeing the consultant this afternoon. should be able to book my c section Grin sooooo excited. dc's are excited too they want a how many sleeps count down to the date. they cant wait to get their baby brother bless them Grin

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 11:17

Sorry to hear about your Gran Life x

Lifeisabeach · 25/02/2015 12:27

Thanks for all the thoughts re. my Gran everyone. She had a happy life and it's hard to be too sad when someone has lived to 100. It's more the timing of it to be honest - that my mum is so ill and having to involve her in planning a funeral. I think I'll write my memories down and then ask my mum if she wants to add anything, and then hopefully I'll be able to read it on behalf of both of us.

Going to try and finish doing my hospital bags this afternoon. Even though I'm planning a HB, I want to have everything in one place in case I have to go in, and to just make it easier once baby is here for OH to find stuff.

m33r · 25/02/2015 17:17

eliz it makes it easier that my work have been FANTASTIC since I told them at six weeks I was pg: so accommodating and flexible without treating me like I replaced my brain with a baby! Glad to be stopping now though!

Wherediparkmybroom · 25/02/2015 17:44

I'm so sorry about your gran and mum life's a beach, my grandad is similarly ill but I've just been booked for a section on Friday so he may get to meet the baby yet. Fingers crossed for you x

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 18:00

hi ladies had my appointment with the consultant today. didnt get a lot of answers to any of my questions just got told to ask at the pre op and my c section is booked for 24th march Grin so excited just 27 sleeps to go Grin

Wherediparkmybroom · 25/02/2015 19:04

I was trying to pack bags but I'm not sure if I just need nighties and going home clothes or day clothes too? I hit sainsburies and picked up travel toiletries and cheap nighties and slippers that can go in the bin on the way out. I'm charging my kindle and will download game of thrones on to the I pad tonight, the baby stuff is sorted though!
Hoping not to stay too long but planning for 3 days.

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 19:16

wheredidipark im not taking clothes with me just nursing nighties a top and plenty of clean underwear. as i should go in first thing in the morning and be in my gown for theatre pretty soon after im going to wear same trousers home just fresh top and when i get home i will probably put on some very comfy pj bottoms and relax

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 19:20

ive brought all my travel toiletries and new washbag and slippers and dressing gown all the usual things just cant see myself wearing outfits in hospital after c section

Wherediparkmybroom · 25/02/2015 20:08

That's what I was thinking but I don't want to be the scummy woman in the dressing gown when everyone is dressed, I've never stayed in before! I also grabbed a bottle of squash and am thinking maybe some snacky food as someone told me food is hit and miss!

Wherediparkmybroom · 25/02/2015 20:11

The jumper dress I have been wearing for the last three months and washing over night is going in the BIN! I have nice new leggings and a new top to come home in! I can't wait to chuck the dress, it's not even making it out of the hospital!!!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 21:26

oh yes wheredidipark im taking money for the hospital shop for food and have got a bottle of squash already packed in my bag. but at the hospital im going to the food was nice last time i was in there. if its awful will get oh to go through kfc drive through in his dads car on route to hospital for tea Grin i am hoping to get my own room as w have a shiny new womens hospital and it has 11 en suite rooms and 3 bays of 4 beds with a bathroom for each bay. of all the times ive been on maternity wards whether its for complications or birth all of the women were in pjs or nighties and dressing gown and slippers night and day

theonewiththenoisychild · 25/02/2015 21:36

womens hospital is an addition to my local hospital so people with complications dont have to go miles and miles to have their babies and then transfer back Grin im so happy to be able to have a section closer to home

theonewiththenoisychild · 26/02/2015 12:58

dd is going to be so happy today her new bed has arrived. her wardrobe broke so instead of getting her a new wardrobe we got her a new bed with wardrobe and cupboard and drawers and desk underneath as she is having the small room when we get round to swapping the bedrooms ready for the boys to share a room

shelley1977 · 26/02/2015 14:33

I finally bought something for baby! Started to panic a bit after realising I had got rid of more clothes than planned. Saw this and couldn't resist as definitely didn't love my other childrens dads as sad as that is Sad they were both abusive bastards
