New (and probably) final thread for those of us due in March (with a few lovely February ladies who didn't want to leave).

Oh broom how did u get on? Surely no reasonable instructor will fail a heavily pregnant woman! Hopefully ur celebrating somewhere now

MooMaid · 23/02/2015 14:56

Jesus you're taking third driving test whilst this pregnant. You deserve a medal. I've just stared packing the house (moving) and may have lifted a bit too much Hmm

MooMaid · 23/02/2015 14:57

..... Not third driving test, meant to say your driving test!

theonewiththenoisychild · 23/02/2015 15:37

must be stressful moving at this stage moo

im nesting and planned to clean the house top to bottom while dc's were at school but pesky braxton hicks got in the way and ive done nothing

M27J5M · 23/02/2015 16:02

I'm with you on the nesting theone, getting really grumpy with it too if anyone gets in my way or tries to help (cos they're doing it wrong) lol

MGFM · 23/02/2015 16:12

I haven't got the energy for nesting...which is funny as I was with the midwife today and she is the 3rd or 4th person to comment on my excellent iron levels...I feel like I should have loads of energy just based on that but all I want to do is sleep! lol

I was getting a little concerned that my car seat wasn't going to be delivered before the baby makes his arrival. A new model of the one we liked came out in January so I thought might as well get order the new one. So we did, on the 2nd of Jan and it has just arrived in the shop! Phew! It is the new Cybex Cloud Q. Probably just as good as the current model but when not in the car it can lay flat which I liked. Anyway, now the car seat is on route I am more than happy for the baby to make his arrival! The MW said he is engaged and her sixth sense is that he isn't going to go over.....I hope she is right!

Wherediparkmybroom · 23/02/2015 16:37

Nope failed, thanks everyone but I clipped the kerb on the reverse park, apart from that 6 minors....next time!

Wherediparkmybroom · 23/02/2015 16:40

Any news yet theonewiththenoisychild? I've been thinking about vacuuming the living room for a couple of hours now, can't see it happening this evening tbh.

M27J5M · 23/02/2015 16:56

Sorry to hear that wheredidipark

MGFM · 23/02/2015 18:30

You will get it next time! I took 2 attempts at my test.

theonewiththenoisychild · 23/02/2015 21:44

well its not colastasis. Thats a relief. midwife said to use calomine lotion for the itching and take piriton. will haveto have another blood test on my next visit to the midwife just incase. but my result was very good so im relieved

Gudgyx · 23/02/2015 22:02

Sorry to hear that broom, what an arse of an examiner! For what it's worth, I think who passes is partly based on statistics. I should've passed my first and failed my second really, dunno how he passed me 2nd time.

Blue03 · 23/02/2015 22:03

Hi ladies, mind if I join the party at such a late stage?

I'm due DD on 18/3, already have a DS who turned 2 last week.

It's reassuring to read that we are all sharing the same issues and I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has had enough of carrying their watermelon Smile

DS was born 15 days after his due date, so I'm hoping that this little one comes along 15 days early- that's fair right?

MGFM · 23/02/2015 22:36

Blue - Welcome - 15 days late! wow...did they not induce you?

Question - is anyone attempting perineal massage? I am 37+5 so probably a bit late but DH gave it a go tonight....not sure we really did it right...we are going to try a different approach tomorrow. Anyone any advice on this one?

theonewiththenoisychild · 23/02/2015 22:44

welcome blue with dd i was induced and she still wouldnt come out and she went into distress and i had to have an emergency c section. ds just didnt want to come out and i didnt want to be induced as it add to risk of rupture so i went as overdue as i could and gave in and had a elective c section. but this time im not sure why but i keep thinking maybe i will go into labour by myself

theonewiththenoisychild · 23/02/2015 22:48

mgfm not tried it. i know for a fact my oh hasnt got that sort of self control Blush

M27J5M · 23/02/2015 22:58

Welcome blue

Theone glad to hear it's not that and hopefully blood comes back ok next time

MooMaid · 23/02/2015 23:57

MGFM not tried it and don't intend to - I think partly because I don't know exactly what it entails, also because I think DH would refuse to do it and I can't see down there!

theonewith I have zero energy to clean or nest so I don't think I'm minding it too much but I am starting to get a bit anxious that we're going to run out of time to pack!

Blue03 · 24/02/2015 05:19

Thanks for having me.

MG I arrived at hospital to be induced at 40+14, and at that point contractions started. 12 hours later there he was by the power of gas&air and my TENS.
As I passed midnight they classed me as high risk (now 15 days over) so wasn't allowed my water birth.
I've no idea how I'll cope if I have to endure the first part at home as per a "normal" labourBlush
Tried perineal massage last time, I found it awkward to do and wouldn't have asked DH to do it. Still ended up with a tear 2/3rd degree. All healed now.

Wherediparkmybroom · 24/02/2015 07:27

The home bit is fine blue, it hurts but it is so much easier pottering about at home with tea on demand. I was induced with my first it was hell, the second I was fine until about an hour from the end because I felt in control.

fishfingerSarnies · 24/02/2015 10:59

I'm the opposite I don't like the idea of lots of the labour happening in hospital they said if I do go into labour naturally I will have to be monitored at hospital for the whole time because of previous c-section. Not that I have much hope of natural birth nothing happening at the moment though I know a lot can happen in 3 weeks.
Anyone else feel dehydrated? I'm drinking as much water as I can and pissing like a racehorse but still feeling headachey and weak like I'm dehydrated.

MooMaid · 24/02/2015 11:41

fishfinger YES - it doesn't matter how much or little I drink, I still feel dry mouthed all the time, headache on and off for last few days and weeing just as much. To be honest, I'm sick of drinking and although I need a refill I can't even be arsed to go and get one Sad

theonewiththenoisychild · 24/02/2015 11:43

fish im the same headaches and feeling rubbish always feel thirsty no matter how much i drink. and they have said the same about if i go into labour too. its been almost 5 years since last section so hope little one gets a move on and i get to have a vba2c

Emilyrose1290 · 24/02/2015 12:18

I am same with thirst and drinking! I get terrible headaches too. But just make sure you mention your headaches to your midwife as mine turned out to be due to quite high blood pressure and I had to have some medication to bring it down.. X

theonewiththenoisychild · 24/02/2015 12:26

just a quick question. anyone taking piriton at the moment? my gp has prescribed it but seems a little unsure of himself seems a bit edgy over how close i am to edd and because i will be breastfeeding. any advice?
