New (and probably) final thread for those of us due in March (with a few lovely February ladies who didn't want to leave).

Ah congratulations Popsicle. With two babies in here and one on Facebook, things are really picking up now!

As for me, I had a last minute GTT yesterday as a scan last week showed baby with a big belly! The test was horrible because my midwife had lots of problems getting my blood. Should have the results today. I'm 35+3 today and so fed up with pregnancy.

Gudgyx · 17/02/2015 11:45

Ahhh congrats popsicle!! Wonderful news hope you are both doing well!

m33r · 17/02/2015 12:42

Congratulations popsicle!!

Like everyone else (I think) I'm hoping for the LO to arrive at 37 weeks. No maternity leave time off requested / wanted. Just want baby here!! Come on March!!

Loving the RLT btw; find it quite lovely so on it four times a day at least!

DurhamRed · 17/02/2015 18:09

Congratulations Popsicle Smile Flowers

Fondue42 · 17/02/2015 18:25

Congratulations Popsicle! Great news, wonder who will be next, and when! Lots of you ladies seem to be having potential signs of things happening! Exciting times!

maskingtherealme · 17/02/2015 21:45

Congratulations Popsicle. I remember you in the early days but like you, dropped off the MN radar and went FB instead but now I am on maternity leave, I am dropping in more frequently. Keep in touch though. I think a postnatal group thread needs to open shortly!!!

I went for a scan today. They decided not to do a measurement of the baby as last week she was growing well. They checked the placenta (fine) and my fluid level has gone up from 5.7 to 7 - still under but an improvement nontheless! Fundal height was 29 instead of 35 but put that down to loss of fluid. Had a vaginal swab to check for infection too (had GBS with DS 3 years ago).

maskingtherealme · 17/02/2015 21:46

Oh and forgot I changed my MN name! I like to remain inconspicious to the outside world and I thought beginning of mat leave needs a new name - I suspected RL people were beginning to know me from other threads!

Ellizardo · 17/02/2015 23:32

Congrats Popsicle, sounds perfect!
Coaster - was in exact same position as you: big belly and GTT. Was diagnosed with GD last week (despite low BMI and no family history) and have been managing glucose levels thru diet alone ever since (checking blood from fingers 4-6x a day). Can't say it's the most fun ever but manageable and baby doing just fine. There's also a good GD thread on mn.
But! You may not test positive for it, in which case, ignore me! Just wanted to say it's ok if you do.

DurhamRed · 18/02/2015 12:35

Today is first day of Mat leave (well annual leave, Mat leave starts Monday) so no more work for 6 months!!!

Would love to be able to rest and relax today but I have my second growth scan this afternoon...fingers crossed my baby girl has grown since last week!

fishfingerSarnies · 18/02/2015 12:37

Finger crossed for you Durham.

M27J5M · 18/02/2015 13:16

Fingers crossed Durham

fishfingerSarnies · 18/02/2015 16:57

Is it wierd that I've been told I don't need to come for another mw appointment untill I go in for section at 40 weeks, I'm 36 weeks with number 2. Everyone else seems to be having more appointments not less in the last few weeks. No one felt baby or listened to hb at my 36 week apointment.
Not really complaining as find the appointments very boring and can never be bothered to go just wondering if it's usual or another case of my hospital really being crap and not giving a shit lol.

3isthemajicnumber · 18/02/2015 17:07

Congrats Popsicle. Hurray for another safe arrival.

m33r · 18/02/2015 17:10

Good luck durham! Let us know.

I think it is weird to have less appointments... I'm having them every two weeks now and always have my bump measured (which is a bit pointless and hit or miss); hb listened to; urine checked; bp checked and generally asked how I am. last two appts I've also had the gbs tests and will continue to request them... Maybe diff for a section but I donmt see why??

M27J5M · 18/02/2015 17:12

I've been told the same fishfingers, seen mw 2 weeks ago and all she done was copy notes from hospital and told me since I'm at hosp tomor she doesn't need to see me back as they do the same things! They don't actually, can guarantee how tomor will go......blood pressure, dip urine, are you feeling ok? Bye! It wasn't my normal mw I seen last time right enough but I'm not complaining, if I get any problems I'll phone them

DurhamRed · 18/02/2015 17:17

Back from scan, baby still very small but placenta working fine and amnio fluid levels all good so DR's are happy at the moment. Just need another growth scan next week to make sure all remains Ok.

coastergirl · 18/02/2015 17:23

Ellizardo my test came back positive too Sad Had to go to the hospital today and be shown how to do the finger prick testing 4 times a day and had loads more blood taken for other tests. It all looked easy when they showed me but it took me 4 strips and 3 needles to do it when I got home lol, kept saying not enough blood. Anyway, I'm not impressed but will see what happens with monitoring over the next week. I have to go back next week to the diabetes clinic. I've popped a message on the GD support thread so may see you there!

In other news, I've been getting really good support from the hospital regarding my anxiety issues. After we know where we are with the GD next week, I'm going to be having a meeting with the consultant midwife. They have agreed that my husband doesn't need to leave me on the post-natal ward, meaning I should get my own room, and that I can go home as soon as possible. I've had a phobia for years of childbirth and it seems to be intensifying the closer I get, despite being desperate not to be pregnant anymore. With the GD diagnosis meaning they won't want me to go overdue, I'm edging towards asking for a c-section because I really don't want an induction. We'll see though, all the unknowns are stressing me out though!

theonewiththenoisychild · 18/02/2015 22:54

M1985 · 19/02/2015 06:58

Hi all.
I've only just discovered this board!
I am 36+2 due 17th March, yellow bump, baby #3.
Already have two daughters, 4 & 2

shelley1977 · 19/02/2015 10:36

Hi M1985

Gudgyx · 19/02/2015 11:01

fishfingers, that might be right re mw app. I had my last one last week at 36+6, did all my section consent etc then. MW said the next time she would be due to see me anyway would be in 39th week, when I'm having the section at 39+2, so I wouldnt be seeing her again. Next time I'll see anybody will be the day of the section itself! But I've to expect a call from the hospital before about what time to come in etc.

Gudgyx · 19/02/2015 11:01

Oh in fact, another thing I forgot to ask and wasnt mentioned....do you get local anaesthetic before a spinal?!

theonewiththenoisychild · 19/02/2015 13:03

gudgy oh says i did before my spinal. i couldnt remember so asked him for you

theonewiththenoisychild · 19/02/2015 13:06

ive seen the midwife today and am eaiting for blood test results in the next couple of days as been tested for colastasis. the itching is unbearable. if it is that she says i will have to go to hospital 3 times a week to be monitored and baby will need to be delivered at 38 weeks

theonewiththenoisychild · 19/02/2015 13:06

waiting sorry typos
