Congrats truke! Ouch to the stitches!

I'm so jealous of all the babies I'm 40 +2 and so ready to meet this cheeky little boy or girl! Have to keep saying to myself that either way it will be evicted in 12 days! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself until then though Sad

blankfornames · 15/02/2015 08:48

Congratulations Truke. Sorry to hear you've downstairs trouble but take it easy and hopefully the stitches will do what they are supposed to do.

Littlemiss, Im feeling like you. I'm 4 days off my Due Date but feel like Im already gone over. It's so hard wondering and waiting all the time.

Purple, at least you have your little man to pass the time with lots of snuggly cuddles. Enjoy the rest and you'll be home very soon.

GeekyHybrid · 15/02/2015 09:20

Congratulations truk and welcome to Lochlan. Wishing you speedy healing Thanks Thanks Thanks

Hang in there purple, you will get home. frenetic I hope you had a good first night home without too much drama. I remember Isaac as a bump was always 'active' around 9.30-11ish just when I was trying to sleep. Guess when he 'creates' now!!

If anyone reads the Guardian, there is a chap called Stuart Heritage writing in the family section about fatherhood. His story of his son's birth had me in tears last week and this week they're adjusting at home. Excellent writing and very timely if you get to see it.

I thought those Guardian articles were good too Geeky.

BanglesSpangles · 15/02/2015 13:01

Afternoon all, and congrats tru

Sid's brilliant, and doing eveything he should, but I have cried more in the last week than my DH has seen in 15 years...I think Im just tired and my hormones are all up the wall. The baby blues is pretty textbook stuff around day 5, right?

Sure it'll settle down next week when we get a bit more down time. In retrospect, I should have refused a few visitors!

purpleteapig · 15/02/2015 13:08

Congrats Truke! The injury sounds nasty so hope you feel better soon. I haven't dared look in the mirror at the damage there - it feels like Frankenstein's monster mess of stitches!

I feel more positive today; the hospital has leant us a pram so we can take Rowan outside - such a relief to get out in the fresh air.

freneticfox · 15/02/2015 13:45

Congratulations Truk!

I sweated like a swamp thing last night, was a bit stunned o_O. Anyone else have this?

blankfornames · 15/02/2015 13:48

Yes Frenetic! i woke up drenched during the night. i went to bed just wearing knickers too. DH had to put on clothes during the night as he was cold! Madness!

sandulacek · 15/02/2015 15:34

So we did have a valentines baby! Congrats truke

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as I caught DH's sore throat yesterday. Not ideal timing with my cs tomorrow but hope it clears a bit. Hence I don't even feel like going out and doing something just the two of us.

Memphisbelly · 15/02/2015 16:21

Bangles day 5 is suppost to be the day the blues really hits just try and go with the flow and remember its ok to feel like that.

Frenetic yes! The sweats my god they are gross, mine are worse in the evening and first thing when I wake.

Dh had both boys all day today they are still at the second bday party of the day and I have been to trade show, missed them all terribly, stopped at boots on way home and mum got some lovely clothes for them, I think I have all clothes for next 6 months

tweety89 · 15/02/2015 16:22

Congratulations truke! Ouch on the stiches, hopefully you'll heal soon. :) Flowers

It happened to me too, frenetic and blank. In the morning, when DP woke up and went downstairs (he always wakes up very early in the morning), I opened the window and left it wide-open until I got up.

Get some manuka honey sandulacek. The sooner you have some the better. It worked miracles on me almost immediately a couple of weeks ago. And good luck tomorrow! :)

Had a bit of a scare today as we were having our Sunday roast with some friends at the pub, when something like contractions/period pains started and my back was hurting more and more. Shock We're expecting my MIL tomorrow and look after our DD for half term and I have my elcs arranged for Thursday, so I wasn't prepared for something like this (wasn't even carrying my notes with me... Blush). Luckily though we went back home and as soon as I changed into my huge pregnancy pyjamas, all pain subsided. Phew!

JacktheLab · 15/02/2015 16:23

Afternoon all,

we have been a sick house again hence why I went quiet for a while, but DS looks like he's on the mend, hoping that the baby doesnt pick up anything!

Frenetic and Blank, the night sweats got you then? I've had that both times, plus peeing like a racehorse - it's just your body getting rid of all the excess fluid, first time it went on for weeks and weeks, this time just a few days, but definetly not pleasant!

Congrats to the new babies, hoping that the rest of you don't have too long to wait, this is the frustrating bit at the very end when you're dying to just get the baby out!!

tweety89 · 15/02/2015 16:36

so jack, my night sweats are going to get worse once I've had the baby? Shock Shock Cannot wait... Grin

Katsand · 15/02/2015 18:05

Congratulations to all the new mums :-)
Not much has changed here :-(. I'm 40 +5 today and still nothing proper has started. I thought my mucus plug came weeks ago but this morning I got a proper size of my palm mucus blobb in the tissue so something is moving just very slowly. Every night contractions starts lightly and then just stops. Will go in on Wednesday as partner is off then if baby haven't arrived. I really don't want to be induced, sounds scary to me. Well tomorrow everyone is busy so Sod's law he decides to come then....

thingsarelookingup · 15/02/2015 20:20

Congrats truk.

We came home yesterday and just had our first full day as a family of 4. It was really lovely and I'm really proud of how DS is taking to his sister.

I hope things start moving soon for those of you still waiting.

Memphisbelly · 15/02/2015 20:37

Tonight I was changing a poo filled nappy, lifted his legs to clean underneath and his arse went off like a bullet, it was like a can of yellow silly string, it was on my legs, arms, in my hair and on my face.....how can so much shit come from such a tiny human?

GeekyHybrid · 15/02/2015 21:05

Thanks memphis, just laughed so hard my stitched bits hurt! And I thought it was annoying when they did the pee fountain thing Shock

For those still waiting, try enjoy yourselves etc, lots of treats and indulgences, especially laziness if you can get away with it Grin

BanglesSpangles · 15/02/2015 21:43

Prahahaha that made me laugh so much i had to read it to DH.

Had a much more peaceful day today, and feeling infinitely more on top of the emotions- only cried a little bit at call the midwife and i figure we're allowed to do that!

BanglesSpangles · 15/02/2015 21:44

Also, sid has weed in his own face twice, but only in mine once. 2-1 to mummy, baby!

longbottom · 15/02/2015 21:49

I have had a fabulous day with DD, shopping, lunch and a snuggled on the sofa nap before a big roast! Heaven.
10 days until due date, getting very impatient now but going to try and enjoy last half term as a mother of one, perfect 6 year old! Grin

Memphisbelly · 15/02/2015 22:13

I have only had pee fountain once but it got my face. Dd has told everyone about the poo silly string since it happened! He was very impressed Grin

blankfornames · 15/02/2015 22:23

Am envious of those of you who have their little ones. Im super uncomfortable this evening, and stupid worries are kicking in big time. Im going for a sweep on Wed..39+6..what are the chances of something happening out of it?

freneticfox · 15/02/2015 22:24

Desperately hoping to cope better tonight.. LO is a hungry, hungry boy. I can't express well, he won't BF so I'm having to constantly try and stimulate rock solid breasts and top up. Once he is full, he won't settle unless he's on either me or DH.

We're both so tired.

tweety89 · 15/02/2015 22:29

Haha memphis! You reminded me that I had this with DD once (luckily only on my arms and nightie!) but it was around 4am and I was changing her with her night light...

I've been told that when you have boys you get used to pee fountain. Cannot say I'm looking forward to this! ;)

purpleteapig · 15/02/2015 22:39

Hahaha, that made me chuckle out loud Memphis! Their poo explosions have such incredible force!

Blank, if your cervix is favourable there should be a good chance. I had one day before induction at 40+4 and had period pains straight away, then went into labour morning of induction. Fingers crossed for you.
