Oh and 0-3 month clothes aren't going to last very long for her - the newborn wouldn't fit length or width wise.

Surf25 · 10/02/2015 18:50

Wow! Well done and Congrats WhyO on the arrival of Alice! Grin such fab news to check in to read and what a weight! No wonder she is feeding enthusiastically!!! Hope the first few days go well and enjoy your wee girl! Has your ds met her yet?

Ticktick · 10/02/2015 18:56

Congratulations why, glad to hear it has gone well today, what a whopper!

Good luck tomorrow frenetic!

No news here, 39 wks today, no sign of baby, but have got bad ligament pain between my legs. It's like I've been horse riding or something, does this sound like SPD? Or do I dare get excited that its a sign things are moving down south?

freneticfox · 10/02/2015 19:08

Congratulations WhyO, and thank you for the reassurance, here's hoping my experience is as smooth!

Now go rest and enjoy your baby girl :D

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 19:14

Ah congrats whyO!! Thanks What a wonderful weight!

God sorry (TMI again!) but the stuff that's coming out of me...I forgot how rank it was! I'm on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a duvet, got some period pain but that's it for now.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 10/02/2015 19:23

Surf DS came in with nanny this afternoon. He was pretty interested, seemed to like her especially when we gave him a present from her. Nanny has apparently had him setting up Moses baskets ready for baby 'ister' coming home - he's put her teddy in there ready. He also been reading pirate Pete's I'm a new big brother book and seems very excited at the idea of being a big brother and helping look after baby.

tick hopefully its just a sign baby is engaging and getting ready to come.

Congratulations Why!!

Grinning, I'm due the 25th so I think I'll be the last one still pregnant!!

Bang, I think you'll go into labour over night Grin

BanglesSpangles · 10/02/2015 20:20

Congrats why and good luck for tomorrow frenetic.

Had a load of visitors today and lots more 'booked in' for the rest of the week... Think i would have felt a bit neglected if nobody wanted to call in!

im doing very little apart from sitting on the sofa with Sid and being tended to- still ridiculously scared of bursting stitches!

Surf25 · 10/02/2015 20:42

Aw that's lovely about your ds WhyO it's great when folk like your nanny help get them involved, being little helpers and some of the books and things are fab that are around too, for them to identify with! Hope he continues to enjoy and help with his little sister! Grin This is what I'm hoping for my dds when baby arrives as well!!

All the best for tomorrow frenetic will look forward to hearing your news! And bang - hope things start to happen for you! Exciting!!

tiredvommachine · 10/02/2015 21:41

Have loved reading all of your stories. My DS was born by elcs on 29/01/15 abs although he is my second child (DD is 14 years old so bit of a gap!) I'm finding it all very overwhelming so is helping reading other people's experiences with their babies at the same age as my baby.
Am BF and it's relentless!

Honeybird · 10/02/2015 21:42

Congratulations why, lovely name! Hope things are on the move bang, and good luck tomorrow frenetic!

GeekyHybrid · 10/02/2015 21:51

Congratulations why, a big girl!! Thanks Thanks

Good luck for tomorrow frenetic

Thanks all for sympathy. BF issue is definitely to do with his latch so we're working on it but he's struggling with that bottom lip eg he barely has one Hmm But, using shields and the rugby hold combined has reduced the pain sufficiently to continue for now. Fingers crossed we can improve further between us. Not seen MIL today so that's been a bonus Grin Though OH spoke to her and she's obviously disgusted that we haven't taken him out in the pram yet. Obviously she's forgotten that my stitches might still be there. Smarting just a bit Angry I thought I did well to get in the car with OH to go to his grans Hmm Frigging woman's well got my goat at the moment.

Good luck Frenetic

whyO congrats Flowers she's a big girl. Lovely to read your story, quite reassuring!

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 23:00

Tired and WhyO congrats to you both!

Geeky a blessing that she stayed away today, i had a lot of stitches with ds1 and had no issues with them, I was up and about straight away, this timenot as many stitches but as they stung and felt pressured I didn't do as much and they bloody popped I had a gut feeling it would happen You know your own body screw the mil you do whats best for you.
We haven't had half as many visitors this time but the ones who have visited have been fantastic. Got my friend coming tomorrow she has had that virus for 3 weeks so is itching to come and see us. Also got the hv coming.
Remember I am suppost to be making a wolf costume for thursday for ds too so need to go out and get bits for that!

jenmcspen · 11/02/2015 00:21

Congrats to all the new mummies Grin

And good luck for tomorrow frenetic you have had such a lot to deal with the past few months and in a few hours u will finally get to meet ur little man and it will all be worth it Smile

We really struggled starting bf here geeky so I feel ur pain. 3 weeks in and finding it much easier now (although I will admit it does feel a wee bit relentless when he cluster feeds!) He has put on 1lb in the last 7 days though so we must be doing something right Grin Grin Grin

donkir · 11/02/2015 02:19

Congrats to all the new mums.
Tiredvom I'm in the same boat I have a nearly 13yr age gap between ds's. I'd forgotten it was such hard work having a newborn is especially the feeding. I've not managed any one on one with ds1 as by the time he gets in from school ds2 has his major feed time. I'm then in bed before him trying to catch up on sleep. OH is trying to give him some boys time. I'm hoping half term next week will allow me to see him for more than 5 mins.
Currently up feeding and trying to ignore the snoring coming from next door neighbour. It's amazing what things start to grate when your sleep deprived.

Katsand · 11/02/2015 03:14

Geeky I feel for you regarding bf and your mother in law.
I'm sure she has good qualities but she sounds like a right pain, she should let you and your husband do your thing. I hate people thinking their way is the only right way.
My man is from Nigeria and he doesn't want me to take newborn out before two weeks. I don't think some outdoor time would kill the baby but at the same time neighter will keeping it indoors two weeks. People do things differently and people should accept that.
Bangonthedoor, hope things has kicked off properly for you by now. Whatever is happening you know it will happen soon. Good luck.
My due date came and went ( which was expected ) now I am just hoping he won't be born on Saturday, Valentine's. We will see what happens....

blankfornames · 11/02/2015 03:20

More babies!! Congratulations Tired and Why! Loving all these babies coming thick and fast! Frenetic, you're next! Best of luck today!

Wide awake club again. Thought I was to feel sleep deprived after the baby arrives..not before!
Have hospital app today but decided not to have the sweep. I'm still a week away from my EDD so no point in dappling with nature just yet. Hope I'm making the correct decision!

BanglesSpangles · 11/02/2015 05:35

Hey all, am awake, stupidly, listening to OH changing and feeding in the other room... Theyve been gone ages!

blank I felt exactly the same- no point mucking about with sweeps if youre happy to wait a bit longer- nature will surely do its thing!

Bangonthedoor · 11/02/2015 07:41

Morning all Smile

Good luck today frenetic, will be thinking if you!

Well I was woken up at 1:30am with regular mild contractions, finally thought things were moving and it certainly reminded me of what they felt like! Took some paracetamol and took a hot water bottle back to bed and fell asleep by about 4am. Expecting to wake up a couple of hours later in a bit more pain - but nope they've definitely eased! Please someone tell me I'm not going to have one of those stop start labours?!

Ticktick · 11/02/2015 08:28

Well, I feel like a prize winning plonker! I have figured out that I am to blame for causing that horrible ligament pain between my legs. Turns out the pillow I've been using between my legs was too big. Slept without it and I feel loads better today. It's amazing how different you can feel after some decent sleep and not being in pain!

To celebrate I'm off to walk the aisles of my local giant Tesco today. It is massive so should easily do a mile or two. Had a few period pains last night so I'm full of optimism that the end is near!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 11/02/2015 08:30

Congratulations WhyO and tired! Thanks

Good luck today frenetic!

Bang poor you I thought I'd wake to some baby news you have made such a comfy home for baby it doesn't want to leave Wink

Kats I think I'd prefer a valentines baby than a Friday the 13th baby this Friday ahhh! My due date too typically.

Seeing the midwife today hoping she will do an internal check rather than measure tummy etc I want to know what's happening down there Shock

Katsand · 11/02/2015 08:47

Omg little miss I didn't even think of that one lol. So now Friday AND Saturday are out....
Bangonthedoor it must be frustrating. What do they say about water breaking, when do they need to Interween ???? Is it 48hours????

longbottom · 11/02/2015 08:51

Oh bang, I'm disappointed for you and for us!

Good luck today frenetic, I'm sure it will be fine!

I couldn't sleep last night and decided to play with the pram at 2am, took it all apart and had the washing machine going at 2am!! Needless to say I'm shattered, going to have a nap this morning before seeing friends and then midwife for 38 week appointment this arvo.
