DS woke us up and I can't get back to sleep, although will need to be up soon anyway to go to hospital. Doesn't help I'm bloody hungry now and not allowed to eat - typical. Still doesn't feel real that today our little girl arrives.

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 07:23

Morning Smile

Hello to redsal!

Will be thinking of you lots today whyO Grin

Well im I'm so sorry for the TMI...although I think we're past that stage now aren't we Grin I've just woken to really wet knickers, full of blood stained discharge - I don't think I've ever been so excited!! At least that's something happening in there!

Got my sweep at 11am today, feeling positive now.

sandulacek · 10/02/2015 07:36

Morning
And good luck whyO

How exciting bang! Keep us posted when you can. 38 week appt today, hopefully to be told she's keeping well were she is and will patiently wait till next Monday Grin

I love reading the updates from new mums, especially re bf. Hang in there geeky

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 08:11

Bang I am betting you go in tonight!

Better night here, we got given a Ewan the dream sheep it plays sounds of womb and every scan we had he was holding cord against his face, we were told it was because on mtulse in the cord......he slept loads better with that playing last night, may have been a fluke but I feel 95% human!

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 08:40

Thanks memphis! Me too! Shall i still have the sweep do you reckon?

Oh DD had a Ewan the dream sheep from newborn and she still has it now at 2.9 Grin best thing I've ever bought! Although it's not quite the nice colour it once was!

sandulacek · 10/02/2015 08:44

I bought ewan in preparation too!

Has the new boiler memphis?

LittleMissSunshine33 · 10/02/2015 08:51

Eeek how exciting bang! Tell the midwife she'll tell you if you still need the sweep! Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck WhyO Thanks

I woke up sure I had been having pains in the night now not sure if I was dreaming it Sad Lot of discharge (soz) but not pinky/red.

longbottom · 10/02/2015 09:52

Good luck why and fingers crossed Bang!
I'm actually bored, I know I should be making the most of time off especially as it's half term next week and poor DD is feeling impatient now Grin

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 10:11

Bang I sould tell her she would probably still do one or at least examine you to tell you where you are, i had 3 or 4 sweeps after induction to try and speed things up so having one should help you.

Sand I never thought I would be excited by a boiler.....driving 20 mile round trip daily for a bath for a week was enough to make it exciting for me Grin

Regarding Ewan for ds1 we had a leapfrog Twinkle Scout but they were discontinued. Today I am looking at Ewan in awe like he is a sleep god haha,

The baby is chilling on a folded up quilt on the floor he is very relaxed Smile

freneticfox · 10/02/2015 10:59

Thinking of you WhyO - I hope everything is going ok and can't wait for updates!

I'm so nervous about tomorrow I can't stop zoning out. I made a list of things I want to do before the op, and then upon realising I'm sofa-bound and can't do most of them I got upset and cried for about an hour. Good grief.

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 11:40

Thanks everyone Smile sweep was quite successful, already 2cm dilated but cervix is quite at the back still. Midwife booked my induction for 19th but seems to think I won't go until then. I really hope I don't!

Thinking of you frenetic, it's only natural to feel like that. Just try and enjoy your chill out time. What time do you need to go in?

freneticfox · 10/02/2015 11:49

I have to be at hospital for 8am, there's two scheduled sections and obviously any emergencies that come in. Hopefully won't be waiting too long, but am prepared for it just in case.

Fingers crossed things get moving soon bang - I think had I not taken the ELCS I'd be driving myself utterly insane symptom spotting, wanting things to get going!

sandulacek · 10/02/2015 13:15

Same here Frenetic. I'm hoping for no signs of early labour whereas if I had a normal birth would be doing the opposite!

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 14:22

Bang get walking and moving as much as you can. I was 2cm with a soft cervix on the friday and when I was induced the weds after nothing had changed Confused

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 14:30

Will do memphis, going to do lots of bouncing on the ball later. Hoping the bloody show I had this morning before my sweep meant something too?

Tomorrow's my busiest day this week, so kind of hoping that something will happen to stop all the nice plans I have tomorrow!

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 15:57

Bang hopefully the bloody show is a positive to things going over next day or so. Apparently sidewards stepping up the stairs helps open the cervix? My hv said this the other day....after I had given birth

longbottom · 10/02/2015 15:59

Sand I've got my 38 week appointment tomorrow, I think baby has popped up again, lots of movement under ribs and pretty much no sleep last night.
I've made lots of plans next week, hoping it will make it all happen but have prepared myself for an early march baby!
I'm hoping some nesting instinct kicks in at some point too as really can't be arsed!
Frenetic, so excited for you!!

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 16:03

Ha not very helpful after you've given birth memphis! I have however been doing this over the last week.

I feel like I'm having a proper period right now, not so much period pain but bright red bloody mucus and some heaviness and stinging - irritation from the sweep I reckon. But all of a sudden feel really groggy and don't want to do anything.

Katsand · 10/02/2015 16:06

Exiting news bang.
So I'm due today and saw midwife and walked out of there not much wiser. It's good to know that baby is doing well so I shouldn't complain. She just said she's sure he will come soon ( well I'm due so doesn't take a genius to figure that out :-)). Didn't give me another appointment as she doubted it would be that long. Just said I should go to the drop in if he still hadn't arrived next Tuesday. So no sweep today :-(.
Anyways..... Will just keep on waiting...

Memphisbelly · 10/02/2015 16:08

Listen to your body and rest just in case you start in night....it may be a busy tiring night Wink

LittleMissSunshine33 · 10/02/2015 17:02

Fingers crossed for you Bang!

I may try the crab walk up the stairs later although took nephew to the park and was running around with him now tummy feels very heavy and lady bits feel bruised! Come on mucus plug/waters/or contractions!!

WhyO hope you're ok?!

Frenetic hope you are feeling ok you're bound to feel emotional just think this time tomorrow you should have your gorgeous baby boy eeek!

freneticfox · 10/02/2015 17:16

It's official. I'm now feeling VERY anxious.. Just reminding myself it's all over very quickly..

WhyO I hope yours went well and you're recovering OK! X

Bangonthedoor · 10/02/2015 17:50

I'm sure you are frenetic, just think this time tomorrow you'll have your little one! It will all be so worth it. Have you any plans for this evening? Any 'lasts'?

Grinningcat · 10/02/2015 18:14

Good luck tomorrow frenetic. Hope all is/has gone well Whyo

Had my 38 week appt today. All is well. Baby's head is still free and there is absolutely no indication of anything happening soon. I am half expecting to be the last pregnant one on this thread. I guess someone has to be...

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 10/02/2015 18:20

Hoping this will post - signal really poor here.

Alice Elizabeth Rose was born at 10:12 this morning, (at 39+1) and weighing a whopping 9lb10oz (bit of a shock when DS was a long but very skinny 7lb2oz a week overdue).

C section was great. I didn't actually get nervous until the theatre team introduced themselves to me (12people) and it suddenly hit me it was really happening. The only problem was in siting the spinal, apparently I have a very narrow gap between vertebrae and the first anaesthetist couldn't site it. He had to get the most senior one to come and do it and it still took a couple of attempts. I was getting very worried they were going to say it needs to be general anaesthetic. It doesn't hurt at all when they are doing it though and I don't know why I was so scared of spinal in advance. Oh and I was rather shocked but she was so wedged in there, despite it being c section they had to use forceps to get her out! Didn't know that could happen.

Stomach is a bit sore now but I feel about 1000x better than I did after vaginal delivery of DS. Glad I had the ELCS.

I have found she's too heavy across my stomach to bf that way with scar, so doing a rugby ball style position - to my side, under my arm. She's feeding really well so far (latching well, and very enthusiastic) - so much easier than it was with DS - hoping it stays that way.

Frenetic honestly, hand on heart, elcs is a great option and it was a good birth experience. Best of luck with yours tomorrow, you'll be fine.
